Time to restore some of our more interesting Trudeau videos, which individually give a scary picture of aspects of his ambitions, but taken together, may present something more sinister.
Let’s open with some nostalgia. To quote ML, “If only it was a leap year”.
Then, one of my favourite Trudeau videos on his view of the nation-state. It says it’s from 2006, but it may not be.
Trudeau on what he will do to people who object to mass migration of Muslims into Canada illegally:
The initial interview that quite frightened Quebec media people. The shocker is that it did not frighten CBC (English) or any other media in the rest of Canada.
Trudeau wishes “Allah” a happy gay pride.
More to come.
I guess it comes down to a difference of opinion. Mr. Trudeau thinks the “nation” is an outmoded concept and I happen to think it is the best model we could all follow on Earth. I say why not treat your country and your culture as a brand and then do everything you can to make it as nice as possible so as to attract business and investment and tourists and prestige and high-end immigration and all sorts of other good things. Make it a competition. And then all the other countries are invited to do the same thing. That’s what I think. And I am certain that Mr. Trudeau is following some idealistic piece of Marxism that won’t work at all if it is tried in real life. I think turning Canada into nothing more than a bunch of addresses on the planet Earth is a right lousy idea…
Such a shitty little man, thinking he can slide by life’s grind on name and nonsense. Maybe he will, but maybe he won’t.
To be fair, in the first video, I think Trudeau is talking about Quebec Nationalism, (as being separate from the rest of Canada). Don’t forget that there were two referendums in Quebec in the seventies, which were very close and nearly split Canada in two. We lived in Quebec then and I watched the numbers go back and forth that night, it was pretty scary. There were also the FLQ, and the bombs in letter boxes in the ’60’s, and the FLQ crisis in 1970, when Pierre LaPorte, Quebec MP was kidnapped and murdered and James Cross, the British diplomat was also kidnapped. That too was a scary time. His father was against Quebec nationalism. He may have been part of it in his youth, that’s perhaps the evolution Trudeau junior is talking about there, I think.
However I’m not sure that his father would have evolved quite so far as he has. I think he was more intelligent.
This sure could use a translation…
