Anti-Semitic Attacks Fuel Continuing Rise in Hate Crimes in New York
One video showed a 51-year-old Jewish man being beaten to the ground by three young men, who seemed to select him at random. Another showed an Orthodox Jewish man being chased across the street by a man wielding a tree branch. A third showed an Orthodox Jewish man hanging on to a fence as an assailant jumped and choked him.
The three incidents, all of which took place in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, in the past year, have raised alarms in the neighborhood and in the city’s large Orthodox Jewish community as a whole. Hate crimes are up citywide, but in Crown Heights, they have taken a particularly violent turn.

Victor Davis Hanson had a superb article at American Greatness on Monday, proclaiming the death of the “Deep State” coup attempt against Trump and offering an autopsy of it.
The autopsy is gripping, and I can’t recommend strongly enough that you read it in full. The scope of what was attempted, and the losses in institutional trust and integrity, are breathtaking.
I do think Hanson is right to say that the coup attempt, as we can legitimately call it – since there was never any evidence of Russia-Trump “collusion” to interfere with the 2016 election – has failed. The attempt he outlines, involving the Department of Justice, the FBI, and a slew of Obama officials at the NSC and other key agencies (e.g., State, CIA), has been too thoroughly exposed to continue.
Certainly Hillary Clinton is in no position to keep paying anyone to pump air into it. And whatever the DNC’s involvement was in 2016, the leadership has changed since then, and the party itself is undergoing a transformation only dimly understood right now. If DNC HQ is pulling strings in a current effort to unseat Trump in an untimely, extra-electoral way, there’s no sign of it.

7 children killed in Halifax house fire, 2 adults sent to hospital
Seven children from a young Syrian family have died in an early morning house fire in Halifax.
Halifax police confirm the fatalities and say a man with life-threatening injuries and a woman with non-life-threatening injuries were taken to hospital.
A local mosque tells Global News the family is originally from Syria.
Emergency crews were called to a home on Quartz Drive in Spryfield at around 1 a.m. Tuesday, and found heavy fire on the first and second floors of the house.
Next-door neighbour Danielle Burt says she was awoken around 12:30 a.m. by a loud sound.
“I heard a huge bang, and I was laying in bed with my daughter, and followed by a woman screaming. So I jumped out of bed and looked out the back window and all I could see was flames shooting out from the back door going onto their deck,” Burt said.
“It happened all so fast and the house went up really quickly.”
She fled her house with her four children and saw the parents outside in a harrowing scene.
“The mother was on the grass, praying I guess, bowing her hands down, and pulling on my husband’s arm to call 911,” she said, becoming emotional.
“She said the kids were inside and the dad was sitting on the steps. I think he had gone back in because he was really burnt. It was just awful.”
Burt says her neighbours moved into their home last summer and had seven children ranging in age from three months to 17-years-old, in addition to the two parents.
“The children that lived there, they were really good friends with my kids and they were over at our house yesterday,” she said.

Former Trump adviser Stone ordered to appear in court over Instagram posts
WASHINGTON, Feb 19 (Reuters) – Roger Stone, a former political adviser to U.S. President Donald Trump, was ordered on Tuesday to appear in court this week over Instagram posts that chastised and appeared to threaten the judge presiding over his criminal trial.
U.S. District Judge Amy Berman Jackson said Stone would need to show cause at a hearing on Thursday as to why the posts did not violate a gag order in the case or the conditions of his release.
Stone, who is free on a $250,000 bond and is free to travel to certain U.S. cities without the court’s permission, has pleaded not guilty to charges of making false statements to Congress, obstruction and witness tampering as part of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation of Russian meddling in the 2016 election.
Stone’s attorneys filed a formal apology with the court on Monday, after he posted a photograph on Instagram of Jackson alongside what appeared to be the crosshairs of a gun.
He later deleted the image and reposted it without the crosshairs before removing it again, according to other media outlets.
Next to the close-up image of Jackson’s face, Stone said Jackson was an “Obama appointed Judge who dismissed the Benghazi charges” against Hillary Clinton. He also accused Mueller of being a “Deep State hitman.”
Stone later posted a statement on his account saying the photo was not intended to threaten the judge or disrespect the court.
His posts came just days after Jackson issued a partial media gag order on Stone and his lawyers.
Friday’s order prohibits them from speaking with the news media or making statements near the federal courthouse about the case, but it does not stop Stone from discussing the case when he is away from the courthouse.

Why did the media fall so swiftly for the Jussie Smollett hoax right after falling for the Covington Catholic hoax? The easy answer is bias. And that might have even been the right answer a generation ago.
These days the media isn’t biased. It’s tribal.
Bias leads us to make mistakes. But the media wasn’t making a mistake when it loudly broadcast false claims with plenty of red flags about Trump supporters wearing red hats. Just as the media wasn’t making a mistake when it spread fake news about attacks on Muslim women by Trump supporters after the election. This wasn’t an error due to prejudice, but an active effort to reinforce tribal prejudices.
The Covington Catholic story in particular was not newsworthy by any rational definition of the term. The media insisted on making it news because it perfectly encapsulated the tribal prejudices of its base of urban and suburban lefties by pitting anti-abortion kids in MAGA hats against saintly minorities.
There’s another example of tribal hatred masquerading as news in the news now.

Sixteen states and at least six activist groups have filed or are preparing lawsuits taking aim at President Trump’s Feb. 15 emergency declaration that seeks to divert already appropriated government funds to build a wall on the nation’s porous border with Mexico.
This was to be expected. When the Left loses elections, it turns to unelected federal judges to carry out its will.
There is also an effort afoot in Congress to overturn the declaration. If both chambers pass a resolution of disapproval, White House senior adviser Stephen Miller seemed to indicate Sunday that the president would veto it. Trump is “going to protect his national emergency declaration, guaranteed,” Miller said on Fox News Channel.
Of the six activist organizations, four –Public Citizen, Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW), American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), and Defenders of Wildlife— have been funded by radical leftist financier George Soros through his philanthropies.

“SHAMIMA Begum, the schoolgirl who travelled to Syria become an Islamic State (ISIS) bride, is to be stripped of her British citizenship.
A letter to the 19-year-old’s mother from the Home Office said officials had issued an order depriving her daughter’s British citizenship. A copy of the note, published by ITV News, reads: “In light of the circumstances of your daughter, the notice of the Home Secretary’s decision has been served on file today (19th February), and the order moving her British citizenship has subsequently been made.” The shock decision comes a day after Home Secretary Sajid Javid warned Britons who travelled to Syria or Iraq to join ISIS “hate our country” and will be stripped of their British citizenship if the law allows.
A lawyer for the Begum family confirmed the Home Office decision and said he would seek to challenge the decision.
In a statement posted on Twitter, Tasnime Akunjee said: “Family are very disappointed with the Home Office’s intention to have an order made depriving Shamima of her citizenship.
“We are considering all legal avenues to challenge this decision.”
The Home Office declined to comment.
The Home Secretary yesterday told MPs he would “not hesitate” to stop those who had joined the extremist group from returning to the UK.
He said: “The powers available to me include banning non-British people from this country and stripping dangerous dual nationals of their British citizenship. Over 100 people have already been deprived in this way.
“But we must, of course, observe international law and we cannot do this if it would leave someone stateless – so where individuals do manage to return they will be questioned, investigated and potentially prosecuted.”
Ms Begum fled her east London home aged 15 to travel to Syria to support IS, but now wishes to return home for the sake of her third child, who was born at the weekend. Her two older children have died.

t’s 2019 and we need some sort of law against public officials plotting coups.
After revelations that the FBI’s McCabe, a Clinton loyalist, and other DOJ officials had plotted a coup against the White House, Senator Elizabeth Warren endorsed a coup.

As he points out the attempt to remove PT though any means but impeachment is illegal, the problem is the Dems haven’t been paying attention to the clear intent of the Constitution or US Code for a very long time.

Facebook Still Championing Blasphemy Laws

Recent events illustrate how Facebook — which has previously championed blasphemy laws — continues its “sharia censorship” regarding content it apparently deems contrary to its “Community Standards”.
A report published in the Wall Street Journal on January 8, noted that Facebook — and Twitter — executives removed activist Laura Loomer from their platforms after Zahra Billoo, the executive director of the Council on American Islamic Relations’ (CAIR) San Francisco Bay Area chapter, complained to them. What Facebook fails to disclose is that CAIR was an unindicted co-conspirator in the largest terror-financing case in US history. CAIR has also been designated a terror organization by the United Arab Emirates.
It should, however, be of little surprise that CAIR executives are able to wield such power over social media. According to Islamist Watch’s Sam Westrop:
