THE DISAPPEARANCE of Jamal Khashoggi remained a mystery on Monday, but unlike many mysteries, it is one that could easily be solved.… Turkish government sources are saying he was murdered inside the consulate; Saudi officials are calling that allegation “baseless and ridiculous.” They contend that Mr. Khashoggi left the consulate shortly after he arrived.
If either account is correct, there should be tangible evidence — videos, travel logs and other documents — to back it up. Such evidence should be immediately released.…
Turkish officials also have disseminated a report that 15 Saudi nationals flew into Istanbul on the day of Mr. Khashoggi’s disappearance and were inside the consulate when Mr. Khashoggi disappeared. A private Turkish news agency, DHA, said the group arrived on two Gulfstreams belonging to a Riyadh-based company and that they landed at Ataturk Airport.
If that is true, there should be records of the planes landing, and perhaps passenger manifests and passport records, along with more video from the airport and consulate. Its release would belie Saudi claims that no such delegation visited.…
…If consular officials…supplied him with the document he requested, they should have records demonstrating as much. They have not released them. Instead, they made an offer to some local journalists to tour the consulate, in order to demonstrate that Mr. Khashoggi was not there.
The staged tour does nothing to refute a grisly account offered by official Turkish sources— that Mr. Khashoggi’s body was dismembered and spirited out of the building. Again, if the government of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has evidence of such a horrific crime, it should immediately make it available to the family and other interested parties.…
…So far, senior U.S. administration officials have had little to say publicly on the matter, which is concerning. If Mr. Khashoggi was murdered inside the consulate, it will cast the Saudi regime and its de facto ruler, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, in a new and disturbing lightand require a thorough reevaluation of U.S.-Saudi relations. In this they are following what is happening in the rest of the world, the European and South American Nations are slowly rejecting the radical left who has seized control and are moving to the right. This move by people to regain their freedom is scaring the left because they are discovering that their normal methods of calling the freedom lovers racists, misogynists and homophobes is no longer working. this in turn is driving them to more and more violence and to making the nations they control police states.
I don’t know how much longer the people who use to be free will remain peaceful with their governments supporting invading armies and taking more and more rights away from the people.

China says ex-Interpol chief focus of bribery probe back home
BEIJING/PARIS (Reuters) – China said on Monday it was investigating former Interpol chief Meng Hongwei for bribery and other violations, days after French authorities said the Chinese official had been reported missing by his wife after traveling to his home country.
Under President Xi Jinping, China has been engaged in a sweeping crackdown on official corruption. On Sunday, Interpol, the France-based global police coordination body, said that Meng had resigned as its president.
“The investigation against Meng Hongwei taking bribes and suspected violations of law is very timely, absolutely correct and rather wise,” China’s Ministry of Public Security said in a statement on its website.
“The investigation of Meng Hongwei fully shows there is no privilege and no exception in front of the law, and anyone who violates the law must be severely punished,” it added.
Officials should never be allowed to “negotiate terms or haggle” over positions within the party, the ministry said, referring to China’s ruling Communist Party.

Egyptian officials confirm arrest of terrorist Hisham El-Ashmawi in Libya
An Egyptian military source has confirmed to Ahram Online that Egyptian Special forces officer-turned-terrorist Hisham El-Ashmawi, one of Egypt’s most wanted fugitives, has been captured in Libya’s eastern city of Derna.
Earlier on Monday, Ahmed Mismari, spokesman of the Libyan National Army (LNA), which controls eastern Libya, said that El-Ashmawi was apprehended in Derna, where eastern Libyan forces are fighting terrorist groups. A picture of El-Ashmawi with blood on his face has been published by the LNA.
It is not clear when El-Ashmawi, who has been sentenced to death in Egypt, will be handed over to the Egyptian authorities, but “an official statement will be released concerning the arrest later today,” the source said.
El-Ashmawi was born in 1978, and graduated in 2000 from the military academy.
El-Ashmawi, also known as Abu Omar El-Mohager (the immigrant), is considered among the most dangerous terrorists linked to many attacks in Egypt.
In July 2015, El-Ashmawi announced the establishment of the Mourabitoun organization in Libya, which is loyal to the Al-Qaeda terrorist organization.
El-Ashmawi is believed to have been involved in an assassination attempt on former Egyptian Interior Minister Mohamed Ibrahim and the murder of top prosecutor Hisham Barakat, as well as plotting an attack on Egyptian border guards in February 2015, which resulted in the death of 29 Armed Forces personnel.
He is also believed to be behind a deadly attack on Christian pilgrims in Upper Egypt’s Minya governorate in May 2017, which killed 29 people.
In January 2015, his group was suspected of staging a multi-pronged attack on the headquarters of the Army Battalion 101 Headquarters in El-Arish in North Sinai, which killed 30 soldiers and officers.
An Egyptian military court sentenced him in absentia, along with 13 other terrorists, to death over the New Valley massacre in Farafra on 19 July 2014, where 22 border guards were killed.
In 2007, a military court transferred El-Ashmawi to an administrative post before his dismissal from the army in 2011. He later joined the Sinai-based Ansar Beit Al-Maqdis terrorist group.
El-Ashmawi received training on the manufacture of explosive materials and combat operations. In April 2016 he traveled to Syria to join Islamist militants fighting aganist Alasad’s regime, yet a few months later he returned to Egypt where he participated in a sit-in supporting the outlawed Muslim Brotherhood group in Cairo’s Rabaa El-Adaweya.
After the sit-in, El-Ashmawi escaped to Libya. In Derna, he broke away from Ansar Beit Al-Maqdis after the group swore allegiance to Daesh, and formed the Al-Qaeda affiliated Al-Mourabitoun.
El-Ashmawi fled Sirte to Derna under pressure from the Libya National Army operations.
El-Ashmawi planned to regroup in the Western Desert of Egypt but failed due to Egyptian security operations.
El-Ashmawi also collaborated with the Muslim Brotherhood in Libya, led by Ahmed Abdul Jalil Al-Hasnawi, who leads the Al-Qaeda branch in southern Libya, as well as Ismail Al-Salabi and Abdul Hakim Belhaj.
Before his capture on Monday, El-Ashmawi was spotted between the Maghara and Al-Qalaa areas in Derna. The Libyan National Army discovered a tunnel network extending under the city which the LNA believes was being used by El-Ashmawi and other members of his group to move between cities.

A Bulgarian journalist who reported on an investigation into alleged corruption involving European Union funds has been raped and murdered in the border town of Ruse on the Danube river, authorities said on Sunday.
Bulgarian prosecutors said the body of 30-year-old Viktoria Marinova had been found in a park in Ruse on Saturday.
Interior minister Mladen Marinov said there was no evidence to suggest the murder was related to Marinova’s work: “It is about rape and murder.” He added that there was no information that she had been threatened.

Then, last Wednesday, I broke the story that Baker admitted to Congress in an unclassified setting — repeat, in an unclassified setting — that he had met with a top lawyer at the firm representing the Democratic National Committee (DNC) and received allegations from that lawyer about Russia, Trump and possible hacking.
It was the same DNC, along with Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign, that funded the unverified, salacious dossier by a British intel operative, Christopher Steele, that became a central piece of evidence used to justify the FBI surveillance of the Trump campaign in the final days of the election.
And it was the same law firm that made the payments for the dossier research so those could be disguised in campaign spending reports to avoid the disclosure of the actual beneficiaries of the research, which were Clinton and the DNC.
And it was, in turns out, the same meeting that was so heavily censored by the intel agencies from Footnote 43 in the House report — treated, in other words, as some big national security secret.
What makes this so extraordinary is that the FBI and the DOJ would have Americans believe that a contact with a lawyer for a political party during the middle of the election is somehow a matter of national security that should be hidden from the public.

Denmark said Thursday it would not take in any refugees under the UN’s quota system in 2018, focusing instead on integrating those recently arrived in the country.
In 2016, the Scandinavian country suspended its participation in the UN refugee quota system, and has yet to resume it.
“We’re still in a situation where we’re struggling to integrate the many refugees who have come to Denmark in recent years,” Immigration Minister Inger Støjberg said in a statement.
So-called UN “quota refugees” are offered resettlement in a third country if the country where they first register as refugees cannot accommodate them.
A member of the liberal Venstre party in Prime Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen’s conservative coalition government, Støjberg has orchestrated Denmark’s immigration policy since 2015.
“While an increasing number of refugees have entered the labour market, there are still too many who cannot support themselves,” she said.
The country registered 3,500 asylum seekers in 2017, according to the ministry, the lowest number since 2008.

Police in South Texas arrested a fired Starr County Democrat precinct worker on multiple voter fraud charges related to the upcoming 2018 midterm election.

Turkish Red Crescent calls for migrant ship Aquarius to carry Turkish flag
The president of Turkish Red Crescent on Saturday called for the protection of rescue ship Aquarius as thousands rallied Saturday throughout Europe to protest attempts to block the ship from operating.
The Aquarius, operated by the SOS Mediterranee and Doctors Without Borders (Medecins Sans Frontieres – MSF), saves migrant lives in the Mediterranean Sea. The ship was de-flagged first by Gibraltar and recently Panama, and has been stuck in port in the French city of Marseille ever since.
Panama last month pulled the ship’s flag following a request from Italy’s far-right, anti-establishment government, meaning the Aquarius cannot legally set sail.
Dozens of demonstrations were held in France including in Paris, as well as in Brussels, Berlin, Madrid and Palermo.
Many dressed in the boat’s orange colors and chanted for “a flag for Aquarius” while slamming the “criminal inaction” of EU governments to resolve the impasse.
Marseille, home to the SOS Mediterranee NGO which operates the vessel with Doctors Without Borders (MSF), saw the largest show of support. Organizers said 10,000 people took part in the demonstration though police put the figure at nearer 3,500.
A similar rally in Paris also drew a crowd of around 10,000, according to the organizers, while police put the figure at a tenth as many.
“The goal is to make an appeal to citizens and show that SOS Mediterranee draws its legitimacy from civil society,” said the NGO’s spokeswoman Sophie Rahal in Paris.
Turkish Red Crescent President Kerem Kinik, who is also vice president of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC ), said in a statement that Aquarius “may continue its activities under the Turkish ensign.”
“We propose that Aquarius resumes its activities with the Turkish ensign. I believe, our country, hosting today more than 4 million refugees will be an important part of a solution to this issue,” he said.
“Turkish Red Crescent has taken an initiative to support of Aquarius to continue sailing. A support to save more lives among those fleeing their countries and are at risk of death while crossing the Mediterranean,” the statement added.
According to the statement Aquarius has been rescuing migrant lives in the Mediterranean Sea for the last three years.
It has saved 29,523 lives in the Mediterranean, a migration route for those seeking asylum in Europe and SOS Mediterranee President Francis Vallat said “the situation is more critical than ever”.
Vallat said although migrant volumes had dropped “we are passing from one death per 42 migrants (at sea) last year to one in 18 migrants” this summer.
Attending the Marseille rally, French leftist champion, local lawmaker and leader of La France Insoumise Jean-Luc Melenchon insisted “Aquarius must have a flag — and a French flag”.
Meanwhile, around 100 flouted an official protest ban and gathered in the northern port of Calais — where authorities in late 2016 dismantled the notorious Jungle refugee camp, which at its height at been home to some 10,000 migrants.

According to Italian media, Italy’s Interior Minister Matteo Salvini said later in the day that “if Germany says these flights don’t exist, the problem does not exist either”.

Egypt army says 52 suspected jihadists killed in Sinai
Cairo – Egyptian security forces pressing a campaign against Islamist militants have killed 52 suspected jihadists in the Sinai Peninsula in operations in which three soldiers also died, the army said Monday.
The military launched a sweeping operation in February focused on the Sinai in eastern Egypt aimed at wiping out jihadists, including from the Islamic State (IS) group, who have been waging a bloody insurgency.
On Monday, the military said that 52 “takfiris” or Sunni Muslim extremists were killed in two separate operations by security forces in the restive peninsula.
Three members of the armed forces were also killed in these operations, it said in a statement, without stating when they took place.
The military has regularly reported operations in the Sinai since it launched the campaign.
According to official figures, a total of more than 350 suspected jihadists and at least 30 soldiers have been killed in the “Sinai 2018” campaign.
Security sources said last week that local IS leader Abu Hamza al-Maqdisi had been killed in an air raid on the Sinai. The jihadist group confirmed his death.
Jihadists have killed hundreds of police officers and soldiers in the Sinai since the army ousted Egypt’s Islamist president Mohamed Morsi in 2013.

The Egyptian Armed Forces announced on Monday that it has killed 52 “dangerous takfiris” as well as the death of three army personnel.
The Armed Forces made the announcement in its 28th communiqué on developments in the anti-terrorism Operation Sinai 2018.
The Armed Forces launched Operation Sinai 2018 in February to target terrorist and criminal organisations in north and central Sinai, parts of the Nile Delta and the Western Desert.
The operation involves the army, navy, border patrol, air force and police.
The 28th communiqué stated that the Armed Forces has made several accomplishments as part of the operation in recent days.
Egypt’s air force destroyed seven terrorist hideouts as well as two vehicles that were going to be used to attack a number of security checkpoints in North Sinai.
Security forces have also destroyed 28 vehicles that were attempting to cross the country’s western border.
The statement has also said that security forces killed 26 extremely dangerous takfiris who were in possession of automatic rifles, ammunition, grenades and explosive belts.
The Arabic word “takfiri” refers to extremist Sunni Muslims who accuse other Muslims of being infidels, often as a justification for using violence against them.
Security forces have also seized two communication devices and military uniforms, as well as an unmanned aircraft used to monitor the activities of the Armed Forces.
A pre-emptive strike in El Arish, police national security forces killed 26 other extremely dangerous tafkiris and seized 10 rifles, four pistols and two bombs.
The statement said that security forces destroyed 26 cars and 52 motorcycles without licence plates that were used by terrorists to carry out their operations.
The forces have also destroyed a number of hideouts containing large amounts of TNT and ammunition.
Naval forces are continuing to secure the country’s territorial waters and cut off terrorists’ supply lines.
The statement added that border guards are securing the country’s western and southern border areas to counter infiltrations and the smuggling of weapons and drugs that threaten the security and stability of the land.
As a result of those hostile operations, an officer, a non-commissioned officer and a soldier has been killed, the statement read.
On the western border, security forces seized three automatic rifles, five sniper rifles, large quantities of various ammunition, 1,000 kg of cannabis, and 3 million tablets of anesthetic.
The communiqué also highlighted the arrest of 2,227 individuals attempting illegal migration.
On the southern border, 102 illegal immigrants have been arrested and 31 vehicles were seized, as well as two communication devices and seven tons of rock ore.

Iranian authorities executed a former child bride this week on charges of murdering her abusive husband after she gave a false confession under torture, according to reports.
Zeinab Sekaanvand, 24, was 15 when she was forced to marry her husband. Soon into the relationship, Sekaanvand said that he started physically abusing her and his brother-in-law raped her. The family ignored her concerns.
Following his death in 2012, Sekaanvand was arrested on charges of stabbing him to death and confessed to his murder under torture. She later retracted the confession, saying she had been tortured and interrogated without access to a lawyer.
On Tuesday, two days after she delivered a child stillborn, she was sentenced to death by hanging at the Euromieh central prison, in the city of Urmiya in northern Iran. Populist Sweden Democrats leader Jimmie Åkesson has offered to resign as party leader if the move would help secure a coalition with the reluctant Moderate Party.
Mr Åkesson, who has led the Sweden Democrats (SD) since 2005, opened up the possibility of his resignation if such a move could help negotiations, Nyheter24 reports.
Referring to the Moderate Party leader, Åkesson said: “Now it’s not up to Ulf Kristersson who chooses SD’s party leadership, but if he would say, ‘If you change Åkesson then we can form a government together,’ then yes, that’s the content of politics that’s important.”

Germany: Bus company unveils refugee driver initiative
Berlin’s main public transport company introduced its “Refugees in the Transport Service” project to the press, in Berlin, on Monday.
The state-owned Berlin Transport Company (BVG) initiative is initially intended to provide refugees with the necessary training to become bus drivers within Berlin’s transport service.
One of the new bus drivers, Mohamad Khair Al Halabi, expressed his contentment with the programme. He explained that he worked on improving his German while also taking the technical training to be able to drive buses.
Since July, 16 people have been trained under the new initiative. Mario Lehwald from the Employment Agency for South Berlin welcomed the 100 percent success rate of the programme. Lehwald said, “with a quota of 100 percent qualification, with integration into the job market, I believe it couldn’t be better than this.”

Cosko Is Not An Unpaid Intern

Capitol Police on October 3 arrested 27-year old congressional staffer Jackson Cosko for posting on Wikipedia the private addresses of three members of the Senate Judiciary Committee—what’s known as “doxxing” (a word derived from the shorthand for “document”). Cosko is facing serious charges that include illegally posting private information of public figures, witness tampering, threats, identity theft, and unlawful entry.
In the mainstream media, Cosko is being portrayed as a hapless overzealous intern who didn’t even have the smarts to cover up his criminal act. His former boss— Rep. Sheila Jackson-Lee (D-Texas) has denied she knew anything about Cosko’s activities. In a press conference held this week, Jackson-Lee explained that she fired Cosko and is cooperating with officials investigating the crimes. (Interestingly, cameras recorded Jackson-Lee passing an envelope to Christine Blasey Ford’s lawyer just before her testimony got underway.)

America’s colleges and universities and our scientific community have become so risible that three university professors were able to get academic journals to publish 20 hoax “studies” as if they were real, worthy works.
These three professors proved that academia is focused on inventing fields of study out of nothing and pretending they are serious, academic pursuits (such as “black studies,” or “women’s studies,” or “LGBTQ studies,” etc., etc.) by the fact that their fake articles were so easily accepted and nearly without question.
The three professors — medieval religious scholar Helen Pluckrose, author and mathematician James Lindsay, and philosopher Peter Boghossian — admitted that over the last two years they wrote 20 academic papers in the field of “grievance studies” — it’s a field that doesn’t exist and that they made up out of whole cloth. Of the 20 papers presented as serious studies in this fake field, seven were approved. Four were actually published, and three more were scheduled for publication. Indeed, the hoax was so complete that the hoaxers were actually asked to peer review other people’s work! That is how seriously their fake filed was treated in the world of academia.

Seattle Bar Refused to Allow a Group of Republicans to Enter After Kavanaugh Confirmation
A Seattle bar refused service to a Republican group after the confirmation of Brett Kavanaugh last week.
Once again, we see that liberals feel no compunctions about destroying our national comity by waging attacks on people in private life merely because they don’t like their politics.

The University of Washington College Republicans hoped to celebrate the confirmation of Justice Brett Kavanaugh by enjoying beers at Shultzy’s Bar and Grill this past Saturday. But their plans were stalled after the bar asked them to find another venue “due to the political nature” of their get-together.
The UWCR’s called the informal gathering “Beers 4 Brett”, a reference after Kavanaugh’s famous “I liked beer” line from the confirmation hearings.
