  1. In Melbourne, Australia Sudanese gangs have been implicated in many daylight raids on jewelry shops, smashing display cases and grabbing loot while terrified shopkeepers cower, and have also been implicated in renting out and smashing up AirBnBs. Then there are these sort of incidents, this being the latest, reported today:

Commuters have been left terrorised after a group of ‘up to 100 African youths’ held train doors open and screamed abuse in Melbourne.
Authorities were first called to a park in Lynbrook just after 7.30 last night after receiving reports of a serious assault.
When police arrived at the park, they found no evidence of an injured person but asked the group of youths to leave.
The group then walked to a nearby train station, where they held train doors open, blocked access to commuters and caused chaos.
Witnesses, watching on in horror, reported seeing the youths, aged about 15 and 16, fighting with each other.
The train eventually left the station and when it arrived in Dandenong Station, the group dispersed.
    No arrests have been made.
Meanwhile, the nearby park where the youths were moved on from was left covered in garbage.
Alcohol bottles, chicken wing bones and crushed cans were left behind.
In August, police were involved in wild confrontation with out-of-control youths after clashing in the suburb of Taylors Hill.
Residents were left fearing for their lives, hiding inside their homes as the gang took over the residential streets.

As a child I used to think that this kind of thing was a bad fairy tale but after Africa where similar is common(woe betide any albino negroes as their “bits” are really desirable for witchcraft) and upon looking into the recorded history of such over the ages and adding this to current all too common, forced organ donation, means that the future for the non elite is as potentially bad as I thought. Movies such as Elysium are not imaginary but an elitist plan for the future as with world overpopulation booming human life is rapidly losing its value unless you are extremely rich and can profit by it. James Gunn’s novel “the Immortals” is potentially no longer fiction.

  3. ICE officers demand Portland mayor relinquish control of police after Occupy ICE protests

Officers say mayor violated their civil rights in stand-down directive

ICE officers asked the mayor of Portland, Oregon, to give up control of the city’s police department and sent letters Wednesday requesting federal and state investigations over his handling of Occupy ICE protests this summer.

Portland’s protests were among the most chaotic and violent of nationwide efforts against U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. They lasted weeks and forced the ICE office in the city to shut down.

The National ICE Council, the union that represents ICE officers, said Mayor Ted Wheeler fueled the confrontations by expressing support for the protesters and in public and private statements made clear to police that they were to stand down, ignoring some 911 calls from agency employees being menaced by the protests.

The ICE Council told Attorney General Jeff Sessions that Mr. Wheeler’s directives violated those employees’ civil rights, leaving them without protections he is required to provide.

In a separate letter to Oregon Attorney General Ellen Rosenblum, the ICE Council’s attorney said the mayor broke state laws against “official misconduct” by telling police to ignore ongoing crimes among the protesters.

“Instead of faithfully executing his oath of office and pledge to support the constitutions of the United States and Oregon, as well as the laws of Portland, Mayor Wheeler chose to leave his fellow citizens to fend for themselves for over a month against a lawless mob, which included violent militant groups,” said Chris Crane, president of the national union.

The ICE Council said Mr. Wheeler’s leadership of the police has been tainted and called for him to give up control for now.

“Our hope is that Mr. Wheeler relinquishes his supervisory authority of the Portland Police Bureau pending the outcome of your investigation,” Sean J. Riddell, the union’s attorney, said in the letter to the state attorney general.

A copy was provided to the mayor.

He took to Twitter to respond, calling himself a political martyr. “Make no mistake. They are coming after me because I am a vocal opponent of the administration’s policy of separating kids from their parents,” he tweeted.

He said past claims by the ICE Council “have fallen apart upon further investigation and these claims, if investigated, will too.”

Kristina Edmunson, communications director for Oregon’s attorney general, said they have received and would review the letter.

She didn’t respond to questions about what such an investigation might look like.

Texts and emails obtained by the ICE Council detailed Mr. Wheeler’s stand-down directive to the Portland Police Bureau.

“Here’s where our office stands: The mayor will provide strategic direction to PPB. He will not dictate tactics[;] we will leave that to the expertise of PPB. In this case, the mayor’s strategic direction is for PPB to not get involved unless lives are in danger,” read one text that the ICE officers obtained.

A follow-up email showed the police concluded that they were not to “proactively patrol” the protest, and would respond only to calls “that have an immediate life safety concern.” That meant ignoring calls from ICE employees trying to get their cars out of parking lots blocked by protesters unless they felt they were specifically threatened, the email said.

The ICE Council says that crosses the line into official misconduct.

“If a rank-and-file police officer was presented with an on-going crime for 30 days and did not take appropriate action that officer would be placed on administrative leave and subject to an internal investigation,” Mr. Riddell wrote.

Mr. Crane said he tried to work things out with Mr. Wheeler directly over the summer, when his attorney sent a cease-and-desist letter to the mayor.

In a July 31 response Mr. Wheeler disputed the ICE officers’ version of events.

He denied there was a policy of refusing to answer calls from ICE employees — though he said it was up to the federal government to police its own property in the city.

Mr. Wheeler said he didn’t want his officers “to be engaged or sucked into a conflict for the purpose of securing federal property that houses a federal agency with their own federal police force.”

  5. U.S. cancels 1955 treaty with Iran

    OAN Newsroom
    UPDATED 11:33 AM PT — Wed. Oct. 3, 2018

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has declared an end to a little known 1955 treaty with Iran amid heightened bilateral tension. Pompeo made the announcement Wednesday, saying the cancellation is “39 years overdue.”

This comes after the International Court of Justice (ICJ), referred to as the World Court, issued a ruling demanding U.S. sanctions targeting Iran not interfere in humanitarian aid or civil aviation.

Pompeo went on to slam the decision, citing it as a loss for the Islamic Republic and its “baseless requests.”

  7. UK, Netherlands accuse Russia of hacking, including chemical weapons watchdog

LONDON/THE HAGUE (Reuters) – Britain and the Netherlands accused Russia of running a global campaign of cyber attacks to undermine Western democracies, including what the Dutch government described as an attempt to hack into the U.N. chemical weapons watchdog.

Moscow denied what its Foreign Ministry spokeswoman called a “diabolical perfume cocktail” of allegations by someone with a “rich imagination”. But the accusations will deepen Moscow’s isolation at a time when its diplomatic ties with the West have been downgraded over the poisoning of a spy in England and it is under U.S. and European sanctions over its actions in Ukraine.

Dutch authorities said they had disrupted an attempt to hack into the Hague-based Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) in April. At the time, the U.N. watchdog was investigating the poison used to attack an ex-spy in Britain and chemical weapons which the West says were used in Syria by Russia’s ally President Bashar al-Assad.

Dutch Defence Minister Ank Bijleveld called on Russia to cease its cyber activities aimed at “undermining” Western democracies.

  8. U.S. warns of new hacking spree from group linked to China

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – The U.S. government on Wednesday warned that a hacking group widely known as cloudhopper, which Western cybersecurity firms have linked to the Chinese government, has launched attacks on technology service providers in a campaign to steal data from their clients.

The Department of Homeland issued a technical alert for cloudhopper, which it said was engaged in cyber espionage and theft of intellectual property, after experts with two prominent U.S. cybersecurity companies warned earlier this week that Chinese hacking activity has surged amid the escalating trade war between Washington and Beijing.

Chinese authorities have repeatedly denied claims by Western cyber security firms that it supports hacking.

Homeland Security released the information to support U.S. companies in responding to attacks by the group, which is targeting information technology, energy, healthcare, communications and manufacturing firms.

“These cyber threat actors are still active and we strongly encourage our partners in government and industry to work together to defend against this threat,” DHS official Christopher Krebs said in a statement.

  9. Britain says Russian military intelligence behind host of global cyber attacks

THE HAGUE (Reuters) – Britain accused Russian military intelligence on Thursday of directing a host of cyber attacks aimed at undermining Western democracies by sowing confusion in everything from the 2016 U.S. presidential election to the global chemical weapons watchdog.

In a British assessment based on work by its National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), Russian military intelligence (GRU) was cast as a pernicious cyber aggressor which used a network of hackers to spread discord across the world.

GRU, Britain said, was almost certainly behind the BadRabbit and World Anti-Doping Agency attacks of 2017, the hack of the Democratic National Committee (DNC) in 2016 and the theft of emails from a UK-based TV station in 2015.

The Netherlands said it had caught four GRU officers red handed as they tried to hack into the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons from a hotel next door in April.

“The GRU’s actions are reckless and indiscriminate: they try to undermine and interfere in elections in other countries,” said British Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt.

“Our message is clear – together with our allies, we will expose and respond to the GRU’s attempts to undermine international stability,” Hunt said. Britain believes the Russian government is responsible for the attacks.

    • USA: Democratic leaders attend anti-Kavanaugh rally outside Supreme Court

Hundreds of people gathered outside the US Supreme Court to protest US Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh in Washington DC on Wednesday.

Several Democratic Senators and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi were also in attendance.

Senator Jeff Merkley from Oregon decried Kavanaugh’s “intense partisanship” and called on all Americans, whether Democrat or Republican, to “stop the travesty of this individual ever serving on that court.”

      • I wish they would stop using Democratic to describe the Dems, there is nothing Democratic about that party.

        • We could win that one. I can visualize them changing the name to something something progressive something socialist in the near future. They are much more open about what group of parasites has taken over the place.

Its pretty body-snatchers when you think about it. Watch Kennedy’s I think it was 2nd inaugural address. Today he would be called a Nazi for that. The one they show in the movie An American Carol is a great illustration. Here is that scene.

    • Vice News -The FBI’s Kavanaugh Investigation Wasn’t Really An Investigation

The FBI’s expanded investigation into 36-year-old sexual assault allegations against Judge Brett Kavanaugh is now in the hands of the Senate. It’s locked in a secure reading room available only to Senators and a few key aides, and exists only on a single paper copy.

That might seem odd to some, but it’s actually normal practice for background checks — and for people hoping for a final verdict on the Kavanaugh allegations, that’s the heart of the problem.

Experts in FBI background investigations told VICE News this week that the reopened investigation was always likely to disappoint the general public. That’s because it’s a reopened background investigation — at a time when many people are hoping for a criminal investigation.

The biggest difference: a lack of subpoena powers or search warrants. That means investigators are free to interview whomever they can, but have no way to force them to cough up information or papers if they decline to.

Tom Baker, a former FBI special agent who conducted background checks during his time on the job, told VICE the high profile nature of the charges mean this could be a big problem.

“There’s a possibility that some parties may want to even have their lawyer present and the agents I know doing the investigation won’t like that,” Baker says. “That’s unusual in a background investigation.”

It also means a “finished” report, in a background investigation, doesn’t have to draw any conclusions — it’s only designed to raise red flags that are meant to help the White House, and Senate confirmers, make their own choices.

It’s possible the new report will include new information that wasn’t previously known. But it’s just as likely by the end of the week we’ll be exactly where we were last Friday.

“I don’t think we’ll get closure in this kind of thing for a long long time,” Baker says.

    • Full Speech: Nancy Pelosi Condemns Kavanaugh

«««….The only person who doesn’t have to be vetted is the president. And it is pretty clear that he could not withstand a vetting. And he talks about being in love with Kim Jong Un and thinking Kavanaugh is a great guy, upstanding this or that. I guess there’s a similarity that people have with people they respect – Crazy about Putin! In love with Kim Jong Un! Thinks Kavanaugh is a great upstanding person….»»»

    • I have faith that the same American people that landed a man on the moon can talk themselves into doing anything.

      • That is why the left is opposing PT and Kavanaugh, both will return us to the freedom that lets us gather enough wealth to do what we want instead of having to limit our spending to welfare programs. Returning to what the Constitution and Laws say will once again allow us to show the world what free people can do.

  10. The past month shows today’s ‘liberalism’ is about violence and bullying
By Jeff Dunetz October 3, 2018

America’s radical liberals (also known as the Democratic Party) continue to drag the political conversation down into the sewer via slander, violence, and vandalism. Just look at the last month:

A congressman from Arizona threatening violence against Ice.
Burning down the Albany Wyoming GOP offices.
A California leftist attacking a conservative congressional candidate with a switchblade.
A member of Congress suggesting we knock off the President then go after the Vice-President.
Antifa forcing a U.S. Senator out of a restaurant, and then tweeting threats of against the Senator and the President.
A member of Congress or a staffer doxxed three Senators.
A professor at a highly respected Catholic University publicly suggesting that Republican members of the Senate Judiciary Committee “deserve miserable deaths,” after they are castrated.

Now, making it an even number, over the weekend the Winnebago County, Illinois Republican HQ was vandalized with hateful graffiti. Words like “rape” and “shame” were spray painted on the building early Sunday morning. Rockford police officers said the graffiti was spotted by an officer shortly before 10 in the morning. Also painted on the building was the date “9/27/18,” which was the day Dr. Christine Blasey Ford and Judge Brett Kavanaugh testified before the Judicial Committee about Ford’s sexual assault allegations:

  11. ‘Explosive’ House testimony on Russiagate: Mystery FBI informant; FBI meeting with DNC reps
    By J.E. Dyer October 4, 2018

“Explosive” is Rep. Mark Meadows’ (R-NC) word. Former FBI General Counsel James Baker gave closed-door testimony to House lawmakers on Wednesday, and reportedly provided some “bombshell” information. Meadows and Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), interviewed briefly afterward, indicated that Baker’s testimony had opened some new avenues for investigation.

We carried a report earlier by Chuck Ross of the Daily Caller News Foundation on one of those “bombshells.” Baker’s testimony apparently suggested that the FBI had “taped” the Trump campaign using an undercover operative.

  13. Rep. Mark Meadows: ‘Strong suggestion’ that undercover FBI operatives taped Trump campaign
By Daily Caller News Foundation October 3, 2018

North Carolina Rep. Mark Meadows said Wednesday that there is a “strong suggestion” that undercover FBI sources secretly taped members of the Trump campaign.

“Now whether that was a confidential human source taping an individual, that’s what I believe it is, but it’s important that we look at this because the whole narrative of ‘Spygate’ and tapping and all of that have been narratives that are out there but unproven,” Meadows, the chairman of the House Freedom Caucus, told Hill.TV.

“There’s a strong suggestion that confidential human sources actually taped members within the Trump campaign,” the Republican continued. “There is strong suggestions in that some of the text messages, emails, and so forth who was involved, that extraordinary measures were used to surveil.”

Meadows, a member of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, did not specify what information he has seen. But the Department of Justice has recently provided documents about the FBI’s investigation to several House committees, including Oversight and the House Judiciary Committee.

  14. Mystery surrounds Saudi journalist’s consulate disappearance

Istanbul (AFP) – Mystery surrounded the whereabouts of a prominent Saudi critic on Thursday after Riyadh announced he had left their consulate in Istanbul — but Turkey and his fiancee said he had not been heard from since entering the building.

Jamal Khashoggi, a contributor to the Washington Post, went to the Saudi consulate on Tuesday to receive an official document for his marriage.

His fiancee reported him missing after the journalist, who has lived in self-imposed exile in the US since last year to avoid possible arrest, was not seen to emerge.

The former government adviser, has been critical of some policies of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Riyadh’s intervention in the war in Yemen.

After an initial period of silence Saudi Arabia said the consulate was working with Turkish authorities “to uncover the circumstances of the disappearance of Jamal Khashoggi after he left the consulate building” in a statement published Thursday by the state-run SPA news agency.

    https://www.yahoo.com/news/saudi-journalist-critical-riyadh-missing-istanbul-145108550.html

    • This is kinky.

Khashoggi is a Saudi clan with DeepState connections going way back. Junior’s folks no doubt paid MbS plenty in the Ritz shakedown last year.

When I say “Saudi” here, I’m talking about the current regime. It’s probable that rival tribal factions are working under the radar with outside forces. Multiple wives and multitudes of fractional siblings challenge the image of monarchial solidarity projected by their Madison Ave. lackeys. Factions that escape the attention of the media must be extremely interesting for the various intelligence agencies.

WaPoo is CIA. Not PT’s “new, improved CIA”, but the same organism that excretes operatives like John [“Abdul”] Brennan. That is encompassed within The Cloud owned by Bezos, selfsame owner of the Poo.

      – Awkward for the folks at the Poo, so conflicted, bless their hearts…

      – They’re institutionally anti-Trump and MbS is PT’s boy.

      – So coverage of al-Saud is less suck-up than usual, which can’t be entirely satisfactory to their benefactors. Still securely in the generic Saudi pocket, but increasingly sympathetic to voices from the Qatar/Iran lobby. Maybe even some of those rival factions in the Arabian Peninsula known only to denizens of spy shops.

      Now, back to Khashoggi.

      – There is NO “healthy” opposition for anti-MbS Saudis. Which means this guy is a target. He’s sheltering with the Turk and the ambivalent WaPoo. And he’s probably into all sorts of tardish skulduggery.

      – The Turk is MB + Qatar + Iran-friendly. The ever-tentative relationship with al-Saud is becoming more openly fraught. The Turk is mercurial, though. Could be kissy-face in Mecca tomorrow, who knows?

      – The Khashoggi family business includes petroleum products shipping and financial services. Clan ties extend as broadly as business. That includes Kuwait, which is not cooperating with U.S. sanctions on Iran. And Lebanon, which retains its prominence in financial operations despite its failure as a state.

  15. Kent State cancels musical after students of ‘wrong’ race, ethnicity win roles
By Daily Caller News Foundation October 3, 2018

Kent State University in Ohio canceled its fall musical of West Side Story after complaints that white actors were picked over Hispanic students to play Puerto Rican roles.

West Side Story is a version of Romeo and Juliet that takes place in the 1960s with Polish-American and Puerto Rican street gangs. Three of the leading Puerto Rican roles were given to students who were not Hispanic, according to KentWired.

Viviana Cardenas, 21, lost the role of Maria to a white student, while Bridgett Martinez lost the role of Anita to an African-American student, according to KentWired.

“I don’t get to tell other people’s stories because of the color of my skin, but yet when there is this story that is about people of cultures like me, about people of color like me, and that gets taken away from me … that was the most heartbreaking,” Cardenas told Kentwired.

  16. Ile-de-France: gangs of teenagers who fight to the death

Five deaths this year, and 250 clashes between rival gangs in the capital since 2016. In front of the phenomenon, Paris launches general states of prevention of brawls with the police, the justice and the rectorate. The situation is as worrying elsewhere in Ile-de-France.
A cell phone theft, a love rivalry, an obscure dispute, amplified by social networks, historical tensions between neighborhoods, colleges, high schools or cities, whose genesis has been forgotten for a long time.
It only takes a trifle, a spark, to revive animosity between rival gangs and trigger these brawls between adolescents aged 13-15, more and more numerous and violent in the Paris region since 2016.

For the last two years in Paris, eight young people, five of them in recent months, have lost their lives. All districts are concerned, with 250 clashes since 2016, including 23 in the last eight months.

To deal with this phenomenon, “complex and irrational” in the words of the Paris prosecutor François Molins, the mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo, the prosecutor’s office, the police prefecture and the rectorate, launched this Wednesday morning, general meetings (etats generaux) on the phenomenon of brawls. By involving families, associations, education, social services and street educators.
At the end of these meeting there will be presented in early 2019 Paris strategy to prevent brawls” to prevent clashes. Which could serve as laboratory for other municipalities also affected by the phenomenon.

5 dead since the beginning of the year
“It’s a vital emergency,” says Academy Rector Gilles Pécout. Today, about fifty schools in Paris are impacted by these rivalries that become endemic, with violent intrusions, aggression during student trips to sports fields … “. And dramas.

Five young people aged 15 to 25 have died in the last eight months on the Parisian sidewalks. Like 15-year-old Hismaël, who fell on Rue de la Roquette (11th arrondisement) on 13th January, stabbed in the back on the altar of an obscure antagonism between the young people of his neighborhood and those of Stalingrad (19th arrondisement) .

“When he died, I thought I was alone with that,” says the teenager’s mother. But no. Together with families and associations, we can do something to protect these children, starting with empowering parents to continue exercising their authority. There were a lot of good ideas that stayed in the drawers. This time, you have to put them into practice. ”

“130 individual cases are now monitored by the prosecution of minors, details François Molins for the capital. From now on, any confrontation will be signaled, with the names of all identified participants, perpetrators and victims, to allow the social services to intervene and help, especially to help the overwhelmed parents, to restore their authority…..

  18. Who killed Maria?
It was a brutal, bestial, murder. But the parents stood silent like a perfect subjects.

It was a beastly murder. Hussein Khavari, a «minor, unaccompanied Afghan refugee», attacked 19-year-old Maria Ladenburger, a medical student and refugee helper, riding on bicycle on October night in Freiburg in 2016. He choked her, injured her with bites, and repeatedly violated her after she fainted , and placed the motionless upside down in a stream. Hussein was caught by accident. The court showed that everything Hussein had told about himself was a lie.

Is he 16 or 17, or at least 22 or even 26, as experts thought? Or is he even 33? This last figure was by claimed Hussein’s father, who according to the offspring was killed by the Taliban, but who actually lives with his family in the safe Tehran. Hussein was imprisoned for two and a half years in Greece in 2013. In Corfu he beat a young woman, robbed her, and thrown her off a cliff. She survived. Of course, when he came to Germany in 2015, he did not say anything about it and the welcome authorities did not want to know who was coming anyway.

Maria’s parents had reason to develop anger at the Merkel authorities. The fact that Hussein was in Freiburg on that October night was ultimately due to an incomprehensible political and state failure and a virtuosity of the media. But the Ladenburgers showed no grudge. In the obituary notice for Maria, they asked to donate to a “Weitblick” student initiative, an organization that sends young idealistic people to collect money for all sorts of projects.

For example, they sent money for the rescuers in the Mediterranean, those humanitarian pirates who liberate illegal immigrants, such as Hussein, from their lottery boats and, paradoxically, keep the ruthless activity of the smugglers running. It is therefore not surprising that Ladenburg’s parents were recently honored with the “Bürgerpreis der deutschen Zeitung” (BDZV). They had showed, according to the BDZV, “a sign of humanity” by their reaction to the murder of Mary. By that BDVZ means that they contained any criticism of the policies and media responsible for Mary’s death. They stood as silent as perfect subjects. (Basler newspaper)

The men were convicted in March 2017 and sentenced to between nine and 13 years. The Austria Press Agency reported that the Vienna state court ruled Thursday there was no reason to reduce the sentences.

Rape is punishable by a maximum 15-year prison term in Austria. Presiding Judge Natalia Frohner said “such an abhorrent crime” requires sentences in the “upper regions.”

The original trial heard testimony that four men took the woman, who had been drinking heavily, to a Vienna apartment where they were joined by the others and all took turns raping her.

  25. Pakistan’s Musharraf warns of proxy war in Afghanistan if US departs (stripes, Oct 4, 2018)
    https://www.stripes.com/news/middle-east/pakistan-s-musharraf-warns-of-proxy-war-in-afghanistan-if-us-departs-1.550325

“Pakistan’s former military ruler Pervez Musharraf warned that a proxy war between nuclear-armed rivals India and Pakistan would erupt in Afghanistan if U.S. forces exit the country.

Musharraf, who came to power in a 1999 coup before stepping down amid protests against his rule in 2008, said Pakistan wants a peaceful solution to the 17-year-old conflict next door. But the former four-star general also blamed India for using Afghanistan as a base to foment separatist insurgencies and attacks in Pakistan. In interviews after leaving office, he has hinted that Islamabad used proxy forces in Afghanistan to counter its larger neighbor India.

“You can expect a proxy war in Afghanistan if the U.S. leaves Afghanistan, definitely, 100 percent,” Musharraf said in an interview at his penthouse apartment in Dubai, where he now lives in self-exile.

War-ravaged Afghanistan has long been a battleground for the broader geopolitical rivalry between India and Pakistan. Musharraf’s comments underscore the fear of Indian encirclement that motivates Pakistan and its powerful military, which has ruled the country for almost half of its 71-year existence. U.S. President Donald Trump has stoked those concerns by pushing for New Delhi to take on a larger role in Afghanistan as Washington looks to exit America’s longest war.

Musharraf said “India should remain out” of Afghanistan, which Pakistan sees as its area of influence. He also warned that even if U.S. forces depart after a negotiated settlement with the Taliban, India and Pakistan would likely move in by supporting rival factions in Afghanistan.

“The situation will return to Taliban versus Northern Alliance, and in that Pakistan and India will fight a proxy war,” he said, alluding to a military coalition that fought against the Taliban in the 1990s and early 2000s.

India’s foreign ministry declined to comment. Indian officials, who frequently blame Pakistan for cross-border attacks in both Afghanistan and India, have long said their presence in Afghanistan is focused on development and infrastructure.

U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo met with his Pakistani counterpart on Wednesday and “emphasized the important role Pakistan could play in bringing about a negotiated settlement in Afghanistan,” State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert said in a statement.

Pompeo “agreed that there was momentum to advance the Afghan peace process, and that the Afghan Taliban should seize the opportunity for dialogue.”

However, Afghanistan’s Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah told an audience last month in New York that he’s seen no change in Pakistan’s policies toward the Taliban since Prime Minister Imran Khan came to power after elections in July.

Pakistan continues to wield “significant” influence over the Taliban, Abdullah said, though he added that the two countries are working together.

Frail and recovering from an unspecified illness, 75-year-old Musharraf said it was unlikely he would return to Pakistan any time soon to face what he calls “politically motivated” criminal cases.

Those include treason charges for suspending the constitution and a trial over the assassination of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, in which Musharraf was named an absconder last year. Bhutto’s son Bilawal blames Musharraf for her death in December 2007. Musharraf has previously said he would return to Pakistan if his security could be guaranteed.

Musharraf has tried multiple times to reenter politics, but with limited success. Under the cloud of his legal issues, he was barred from contesting Pakistan’s elections in July. When he last returned to Pakistan, in 2013, he was placed under house arrest the following year. He was eventually allowed to leave in 2016 to seek medical treatment abroad.

The former general remains a divisive figure in Pakistan. Some praised him for ushering in a level of economic stability, though many others saw him as an American puppet after the Sept. 11 attacks. Musharraf also drew criticism for constitutional and human-rights violations and was blamed for failing to tackle widespread violence in the later years of his rule.

With former cricket star Khan breaking the rotational and dynastic grip of Pakistani politics, Musharraf said he backed the current government, and there was no need for him to return as a “third force.””

  27. Hitler greeting man from Chemnitz reappeared at Antifa rally in Berlin
    ——————————————————————————————–

The tabloid Bild searched for his name with pictures, the “Focus” discussed an alleged RAF tattoo on his hand and came to the conclusion that there had been no provocateurs in Chemnitz infiltrated by left-wing extremist Antifa: The frequently mentioned HITLER greeting man from Chemnitz. Now he seems to have turned up again. And that was yesterday in Berlin among the counter-demonstrators, who not only took to the streets against the large, certainly partly questionable patriot rally, but also chased after ” right-wing persons ” and policemen. This seems to confirm the suspicions that the Internet portal JouWatch had already raised a few weeks ago: “Obviously the AfD mourning march on Saturday in Chemnitz is to be sabotaged by showing Hitler greetings. There are calls on the Internet from left-wing activists to discredit the demonstration by lifting the right arm in a forbidden way. Already at the previous demonstration there were allegations that the “Heil Hitler” man came from liaison of the intelligence agency and journalists”.

  28. Teen Told to ‘Get Out’ of College Class After Confessing Tommy Robinson Support (breitbart, Oct 4, 2018)
    https://www.breitbart.com/london/2018/10/04/teen-get-out-college-tommy-robinson-support/

“A teen student says she has left college after revealing her support for Tommy Robinson and being told, “Get out, we don’t want people with your views.”

The 17-year-old told StokeonTrentLive she was ostracised on day one of the community college course run by Total People in Crewe, Cheshire, which she had enrolled in to pick up qualifications in English and mathematics in preparation for an apprenticeship which she hoped would give her a “fresh start”.

“I was given a final warning for being too right-wing,” she claimed, after falling foul of a classroom dominated by supporters of Jeremy Corbyn, the hard-left Labour Party leader who has achieved a zealous following despite repeated scandals — including attendance at a memorial honouring the Black September terrorists, meetings with IRA killers and a Communist spy, and paid appearances on Iranian state television.

“It was the first day and we were all having a conversation when Jeremy Corbyn came up, I asked people not to get into it because I was filled with a room of lefties,” the student told StokeonTrentLive.

“I said my opinion and the teacher said ‘get out, we don’t want people with your views’. I was given a final warning for being too right-wing.

“The class then started asking everyone who their favourite person was and I said Tommy Robinson. I like what he is doing for our country and I follow all of his stories — I think he is a saviour,” she added.

The teen said she was made to feel so uncomfortable that she was “terrified” to continue with the classes, and has now pulled out…”

  29. Mohamed Names Most Popular For Newborn Boys in Belgium in 2017 (breitbart, Oct 4, 2018)
    https://www.breitbart.com/london/2018/10/04/mohamed-most-popular-boys-name-belgium/

“Mohamed is the most popular name in the country for newborn boys in Belgium when all of the variations of the name are taken into account, the latest statistical release has revealed.

The official statistics, released by the Belgian government Statbel, list the name “Liam” as the most popular name for baby boys in Belgium in 2017 with 570 newborns receiving the name. The name “Mohamed” comes in at tenth place with 392 babies given the name that year; but when slight spelling variations of the same Arabic name are taken into account, they represent for a much higher number.

Along with “Mohamed”, the official list of male baby names from 2017 also lists the variations “Mohammed” (143 boys), “Muhammed” (72 boys), “Muhammad” (53 boys), “Mohammad” (42 boys), and “Mohamad” (16 boys) which add up to 718. This does not include other variations such as Mohammed-Ali and Mehmet that would take the number even higher.

In the Belgian capital Brussels, the spelling “Mohamed” alone is the second most popular boys’ name and combined with all of the other variations of the name makes it by far the most popular in the Belgian capital.

French populist website Fdesouche looked deeper into the data and claimed that names originating from the Islamic world made up as many as 44 percent of male newborns in Brussels. The website undertook a similar study based on French newborn name data and found 28 percent of the Île de France region male newborns were given Islamic-origin names by contrast.

In the Belgian region of Flanders, the number of boys with Islamic names reached 18 percent and in Wallonia, the number was even lower at 13 percent. Belgium overall stood at 20 percent.

Last month, naming data from England and Wales also showed Muhammed and the various spellings of the name to be the most popular name for newborn boys in 2017 for the sixth straight year.

In other countries like Austria, the name and its variations are also becoming more popular with a report released earlier this year showing “Muhammed” to be the third most popular male baby name in the alpine country.”

“The Italian populist League party, led by firebrand Matteo Salvini, has introduced legislation that would ban ritual halal slaughter, arguing that animals should be respected and protected from suffering.

The new laws will end loopholes currently in place in the country’s animal welfare legislation that allows Muslims exemptions for ritual halal slaughter, Il Giornale reports.

Should the new laws, which will also force producers to properly label all halal and ritually slaughtered products, pass and come into effect it would see Italy join a host of other European countries such as Poland, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Iceland, Lithuania, Belgium, and Switzerland which have also either restricted or banned religious slaughter…”

  32. Saudi woman ‘barred from marrying man who played musical instrument’

A Saudi woman has reportedly lost a legal battle to marry the man of her choice after her family objected because he played a musical instrument.

Relatives of the woman, a bank manager, refused to allow her to wed the man, a teacher, saying his oud (lute) playing made them “religiously incompatible”.

A lower court backed that view, and its verdict has now been confirmed at appeal, a lawyer and local media say.

Some people in the conservative Muslim state say music is “haram” (forbidden).

Despite that, Saudi Arabia has a distinctive musical tradition – in which the oud features – and public concerts by Arab and Western artists are permitted.

The case of the bank manager and teacher came to light over the weekend, when Saudi lawyer Abdul Rahman al-Lahim discussed it in a video on Snapchat .

He said a woman from Unaiza, in the Qassim region, had asked him two years ago to file a lawsuit against her brothers because they had refused to give their permission for her to marry a man who “once played the oud and so was not considered religious”.

A court in Qassim had ruled in favour of the woman’s family, he added . The newspaper Okaz cited the judge as saying: “Because the suitor plays a musical instrument he is unsuitable for the woman from a religious point of view.”

An appeals court recently upheld the verdict, making it final.

Mr Lahim said the man had not been given the chance to defend himself before a court, and that the judgements “established serious principles” .

The woman told Okaz that she was still determined to marry the man, who she described as “very pious and with a good reputation”.

She will ask the country’s “highest authorities” – an apparent reference to the royal court – to intervene.

Mr Lahim’s video sparked a fierce debate among Saudis on social media , with some people condemning the authorities for stopping a couple wanting to get married but failing to prevent forced marriages in the kingdom.

Under Saudi Arabia’s guardianship system, adult women must obtain permission from a male guardian – usually a husband, father, brother, or son – to apply for a passport, travel outside the country, study abroad on a government scholarship, get married or even leave prison.

Since May, several women’s rights activists campaigning for the guardianship system to be abolished have been detained as part of an apparent crackdown on dissent.

  33. and Anti-Christian Threatens Our Democracy
And the rot is deeper than you think.
    October 4, 2018
    David Horowitz

The ruthless passions of the political left, which have been on full display in the campaign not just to defeat a Supreme Court justice nomination, but to destroy the nominee and his family, are inspired by an ideology that is racist, sexist, anti-Christian, and fundamentally anti-American. Just how powerful and entrenched this ideology is can be gauged by the following headline on the ABC News website: “Us white male Christians need to step back and give others room to lead.” The headline is explained in the article’s opening sentence: “In the great span of world history, nearly all change and progress has come from an under-served and out-of-power group pushing, prodding, and pounding on those who hold power to expand it to include a wider and more diverse population.”

This is pure leftist claptrap. There is not a shred of historical evidence to support it. The greatest progress of the last 250 years, beginning in 1776 and 1789, has been the creation of liberal societies that support the principles of individual liberty and equality, and tolerance. In the case of England and America the supporters of these principles led the world in ending slavery, which is still practiced in Africa today. This progress was entirely the work of white Christian males, who were under no pressure from diverse, under-served and out of power groups. But what is truly striking about these false claims and their racist, sexist and anti-Christian prescription is that they are the words not of some fringe leftist, but of Matthew Dowd, a prominent Republican, who was the chief strategist for the 2004 Bush-Cheney presidential campaign.

Every American should be concerned that an ideology so antithetic to everything this country has stood for should now be the conventional wisdom of half the country (including all the persecutors of Judge Kavanaugh). The U.S. Constitution does not contain the words “white,” “black,” “male” or “female,” precisely because the Founders believed they were creating a society in which true equality would one day prevail. It took nearly two hundred years to bring about the social changes that would realize that dream.

  34. Austria, Denmark Present Plan on Curbing Illegal Migration – Reports (sputniknews, Oct 4, 2018)
    https://sputniknews.com/europe/201810041068603251-austria-denmark-plan-curbing-migration/

“Austrian Interior Minister Herbert Kickl and Danish Minister for Immigration Inger Stojberg have developed a plan to curb the influx of undocumented migrants coming to the European Union, Kleine Zeitung reported on Thursday.

According to the Kleine Zeitung newspaper, the plan, which was presented during the conference of the European Migration Network (EMN), envisages ensuring an effective control on the EU external borders. Austria and Denmark reportedly want to deport all migrants who have no right to stay in the European Union back to either their native country, a safe third-party or special migrant reception centers.

The plan also seeks to create better conditions in the countries of migrants’ origin, prevent refugee deaths in the Mediterranean Sea, destroy the human trafficking business, strengthen solidarity between EU countries and the Schengen Area’s member states, as well as resettle refugees after tackling illegal migration.

The plan was presented after in June, the European Council summit agreed on several aspects of the EU migration policy, including the establishment of “regional disembarkation platforms in close cooperation with relevant third countries” and controlled centers in the EU member states to process asylum applications. The resettlement or relocation of migrants across the bloc is expected to be done on a voluntary basis amid the lack of consensus.

European countries have been experiencing a severe migration crisis since 2015 due to the influx of thousands of migrants and refugees fleeing crises and poverty in the Middle East and North Africa.”

  36. Investigate the Senate Democrat Wrecking Machine
“This grand unearth-and-destroy spectacle was planned.”

    Michelle Malkin

How did we get here? The Kavanaugh Supreme Court nomination circus didn’t happen by accident. The emergence of incredible — and by “incredible,” I mean the literal Merriam-Webster definition of “too extraordinary and improbable to be believed” — accusers in the 11th hour was no mistake.

It is my contention that this grand unearth-and-destroy spectacle was planned, coordinated and facilitated by Senate Judiciary Committee Democrats and their staffers.

After the FBI finishes its Freshmen Booze Investigations, Federal Barfight Interrogations and Fraternity Barfing Incidents probe of every last Yale and Holton Arms acquaintance and publicity hound ever photographed with Judge Brett Kavanaugh, every cog in the Resistance Wrecking Machine must be investigated:

Protest Orchestration. The hearings were doomed from the very start, when 70 screaming demonstrators (including Women’s March holy warrior Linda Sarsour and actress Piper Perabo) systematically infiltrated the Hart Senate Office Building and disrupted the proceedings in Hour One of Day One. Day Two saw another 72 social justice mobsters arrested, with more than 200 total taken into custody by Capitol Police by the end of Day Three.

Taxpayers have a right to know who sponsored the deliberate sabotage and abuse of the gallery pass privilege, which has been in place since 1890. As the U.S. Senate website notes, “A code of conduct for visitors to the galleries is set by the Senate Committee on Rules and Administration and is enforced by the doorkeepers … each gallery pass requires the ‘signature’ of a senator or officer of the Senate.” We’ve seen this partisan-organized circus mayhem before.

“Bahrain says Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates have pledged $10 billion to support its island kingdom.

Bahrain made the announcement Thursday night.

The kingdom said it would restructure its finances to save $2.1 billion annually.

Bahrain, just off the coast of Saudi Arabia, long has relied on the largess of its wealthy neighbors to support it despite being the first Arab nation in the Persian Gulf to strike oil.

That aid, however, has waned in recent years with a precipitous drop in global oil prices, and the kingdom instead began seeking more and more loans from the international market.

Bahrain previously received $10 billion in aid pledges during its 2011 Arab Spring protests from members of the Gulf Cooperation Council, a six-nation bloc of Gulf Arab states.”

  38. French airstrike targets extremists in Burkina Faso (abcnews, Oct 4, 2018)
    https://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/killed-attacks-security-forces-burkina-faso-58282958

“At least eight members of Burkina Faso’s security forces are dead after a pair of attacks in the turbulent east, the country’s security minister said Thursday, while France’s military said it carried out an airstrike against extremists fleeing one of the scenes.

The West African nation is the latest in the region to wrestle with the growing threat from extremist groups that in recent months have found refuge in the forested east near the border with Niger.

In the first attack, seven soldiers were killed and two others were seriously wounded when their vehicle struck an explosive device between Gayeri and Bartieboubou on Wednesday, the minister told public radio. The soldiers’ convoy was deploying to the east as Burkina Faso steps up counterterror efforts there.

The second attack occurred Thursday when scores of heavily armed extremists invaded the Inata mining site in Soum province, killing one gendarme. Another gendarme was wounded and three others are missing.

The mining site is where three men, including an Indian and a South African, were kidnapped last month.

France’s military said it directed a drone toward the site of the attack and, after a request from Burkinabe authorities, sent two Mirage jets from an air base in Niger’s capital, Niamey.

The drone spotted “a column of several motorbikes leaving the area toward the north” and once there was no doubt about the group’s extremist nature, the airstrike occurred, the French military said in a statement. Results were still being assessed.

France’s West Africa-based Barkhane is the country’s largest overseas military operation.

Burkina Faso’s security situation has worsened this year with an attack on the army headquarters and the French embassy in March. The extremist threat at first was located in the country’s northern Sahel region, home to radicalized local preacher Ibrahim Malam Dicko. It has recently pushed into the forested east near the border with Niger…”

The Labour Party — Jeremy Corbyn’s Labour Party –has called for the U.K to impose a total arms embargo on Israel. This would not be the first time the U.K. has imposed such an embargo on Israel. In the 1948-49 Arab-Israeli war, at the time of maximum peril to the Jews of Israel, with the nascent state invaded by the armies of five Arab states, Great Britain also imposed such an embargo. It was not alone. The United States also banned sending arms to the belligerents on either side. The most important weapons deliveries, including airplanes, for the Jews in 1947-49 came from Czechoslovakia.

The British, unlike the Americans, did not impose an arms embargo on both sides in 1948. Instead, they continued to supply arms to Egypt, Jordan, and Iraq. More important, the British armed, trained, and provided officers, to the Arab Legion of Jordan. Under the overall command of General John Bagot Glubb, the Arab Legion was the most effective fighting force on the Arab side, and the only one that could claim a clear victory — at Latrun — over the Jews during the 1948 war. Even before the war was declared by the Arab states, the Arab Legion joined forces with local Arabs, who attacked the four Israeli settlements that made up the Etzzion bloc. The Jewish forces consisted of members of the Hagana militia and kibbutzniks. Of the 129 Haganah fighters and Jewish kibbutzniks who died during the defence of the settlement, Martin Gilbert states that fifteen were murdered on surrendering.

  41. Obama Admits Heavy Drinking, Drug Problems As An ‘Adolescent’ In Rare Video Footage

In light of the recent attacks on Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh over his alleged drinking in high school and his having thrown ice at someone in a bar, a rare video clip of then-Illinois State Senator Barack Obama has surfaced that shows the 40-year-old admitting that while he was a “young boy” and an “adolescent” he drank “a six-pack in an hour” in between classes, got in fights, was a “thug,” and used illegal drugs.

The February 2001 biographical interview was made by The History Makers, who interviewed Obama about everything from his favorite color to describing his adolescent behavior to defining what he wanted his legacy to be.

  42. FBI’s 37 secret pages of memos about Russia, Clintons and Uranium One

Eight years after its informant uncovered criminal wrongdoing inside Russia’s nuclear industry, the FBI has identified 37 pages of documents that might reveal what agents told the Obama administration, then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and others about the controversial Uranium One deal.

There’s just one problem: The FBI claims it must keep the memos secret from the public.

Their excuses for the veil of nondisclosure range from protecting national security and law enforcement techniques to guarding the privacy of individual Americans and the ability of agencies to communicate with each other.

    Sound familiar?
