  1. Can you give Scouts canoe lessons while wearing a full Islamic veil? Absolutely not, says Brian, who devoted a lifetime to the Scouts but was kicked out after saying a Muslim Scout leader looked like Darth Vader (dailymail, Sep 8, 2018)
    https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6146863/Can-Scouts-canoe-lessons-wearing-Islamic-veil.html

“As a devoted Scout master, Brian Walker has spent decades teaching children how to canoe and climb hills, abseil down cliffs, pitch tents, build fires and cook bangers.

But last year – after more than half a century since he first joined the movement – he was thrown out, he says, like ‘an old slipper’.

What had he done to deserve summary expulsion?

Well, in an outburst which may be considered incendiary in our politically correct times, the British Canoe Union instructor had dared to suggest that a fellow leader, a Muslim woman, might endanger children by taking them out on the water in her niqab face veil.

How could she jump in to rescue a Scout in difficulty? How could she navigate her own canoe properly beneath her veil? How could she be sure her instructions were being seen and heard?

They’re questions many people might reasonably ask.

But Mr Walker went on to say Zainab Kothdiwala, the respected head of a thriving all-girl Scout pack in her home town of Heckmondwike, West Yorkshire, looked like Darth Vader.

And he added that the sight of someone doing adventure sports in a full face veil would be incongruous enough to scare children and animals.

Clearly, Mr Walker, 63, is a man with robust opinions and a ripe turn of phrase, a trait he shares with former Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson, who recently compared women in burkas to ‘bank robbers’ and said they looked ‘like letter boxes’.

The Scout Association did not approve, declaring Mr Wilson to be in breach of its diversity and equality rules.

He was dismissed from his post as assistant leader of an Explorer Scout pack in his home city of Bristol by a letter, which stated that his views ‘do not fit within the Equal Opportunities Policy’ or the Scout values of ‘integrity, respect, care and belief’.

He was forbidden from wearing his uniform and badges or having anything to do with Scout Association paperwork, never mind children.

But now, 18 months later, he has won an unexpected reprieve.

As a county court judge prepared to rule on the row, the association capitulated, paying him damages and costs. He is donating the cheque to charity. The victory, which owes much to the help given to Mr Walker by the Christian Legal Centre, is a pyrrhic one for him personally. The Scout Association won’t apologise and has publicly said it still doesn’t approve of his comments.

But more broadly, his story once again raises the impossible question of where the fault line lies between civilised opinion and unacceptable prejudice…”

  2. Yesterday I went to Starbucks to buy a friend a coffee. When I ordered his latte the pretty young woman asked for my name. Why, I asked? But she didn’t hear me because the place was noisy. Yes, I’m often suspicious now, but then I relaxed and supposed it was their little gimmick to connect to the customer and all that. Fine. I said my name.

I waited for the coffee to be made. It is a brand new store in a brand new building. All glass and concrete. Beside me was a bin full of little plastic water bottles for $2.75 a piece. That’s alot, I thought, for such small bottles. But it was to support a cause for needy children. Can’t remember which one. I just remember it made me wary (again) and made me wonder. How much of this $2.75 made it to the kids? And the cause sounded dubious. It seemed political and like–again and again and again–someone was subtly telling me what to think. I’m tired of that.

Then I saw the man in the spring-loaded chicken hat. Gee, I joked to myself, been a few days since I saw one of those.

He looked utterly ridiculous. His helmet had a chin strap to hold it in place while a big spring rose above it. Atop the spring, bobbing and boing-boing-ing was this huge, stupid, red and yellow plastic chicken. To make it worse, every time the spring bobbed, it squeaked. The man was behind the counter making the latte I’d ordered. I mean what the cluck is that, I thought? Then I read his t-shirt. It was no joke.

“Do not stare at me or acknowledge the spring-loaded chicken hat on my head. Don’t even send out brain waves to this effect. If you do I will know it. I may have you charged with a micro-aggression, and perhaps a hate crime. If you remark on my apoearance other customers may become hostile to you. The police may be called. Everyone in here knows what you’re thinking. If you’ve read my t-shirt this far I may, at my own discretion, consider you guilty! If you think I’m joking, just try me.”

Oh-oh, I thought, I’ve stared too long. Now I really did feel like my mind was being read. But how could I not look? That chicken was bouncing around like a, well, like a wrestling chicken getting slammed to the mat, this way and that, as the man went to and fro behind the counter making coffee. Boing boing. Sometimes the unwanted thought is the most involuntary, no? But in this case it was the simple act of observing. I looked around. There were many other customers. None seemed to notice him. Everyone was screamingly laddi-daa. Two women standing there asked him for extra cream without so much as a wink or even a wry corner of their lips rising. A middle-aged man in cycling pants spoke to another man as if not a thing in the place was askew. The crazy chicken was one thing, we get used to anything quickly, but the t-shirt was quite another. I mean, you wear that hat then threaten anyone who notices? What does the owner of this Starbucks think? Obviously he put you there, front and center, to make a statement. A big fat political statement. A signal that says all people wearing chicken hats will be accepted as normal and supported without question. Without being made to feel conspicuous. How many people buy into this I don’t know. I guess Starbuck’s revenue would tell us the answer to that.

Oddly, it made me feel conspicuous. Like the wheels spinning in my head were somehow visible. But that hat and that t-shirt felt more aggressive than any look or remark I could have possibly made. I got my coffee and left.

In fact, the young man behind the counter was about twenty years old. Old enough to be a soldier and fight a war. Old enough to stand in the bloody trenches of front-line combat. He is, in fact, very much a soldier.

His uniform is neither combat fatigues nor even a ridiculous spring-loaded chicken hat. Nope. His uniform is some very badly and thickly-pasted lipstick, rouge, eyeshadow–the whole bit. A cosmetics train wreck. And in our new normal nary an eyelash will bat at the spectacle of this sexual centurion in his Starbucks trench. Except mine, and only then when it’s tucked safely in the prison of my mind. Safe for now, at least.

Nike, Levis, Starbucks, Google, Facebook, Youtube…fighting for sales and souls, souls and sales. It’s tough for any one person to stand against a leviathan.

  3. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/fgm-uk-female-genital-mutilation-police-prosecutions-operation-airport-us-proclamation-a8526386.html
I read some time ago that young girls traveling abroad for what they fear is a forced marriage or FGM should put a spoon in their panties to alert those at the security checkpoint. They would then be taken alone to a private setting where they could talk to the authorities. I’m not sure how well this works, probably not very well at all as, from what I understand, most of the girls are tricked into the travel or are just too young to understand what is going on. Can you imagine the blow up in the family if a girl actually did this?
One of the comments to this article was unfortunately accurate. FGM will be an issue for the next month or two and then recede again. There has been not one single prosecution in the UK, ever…

      • Actually, I read that the one swathed in white is the 3rd wife. The first two ran away. I don’t know if that is true or not but the 1st two look like 2 different people. Can’t tell about the 3rd.

  4. Don’t call the Alamo’s defenders ‘heroic,’ Texas school curriculum panel urges

AUSTIN — A panel advising the State Board of Education on what seventh-graders should learn in their social studies courses has urged deleting the label “heroic” from a curriculum standard about the Alamo’s defenders.

The proposed tweak to a directive about what teachers should teach about Texas history and the state’s most iconic battle infuriated several state politicians, including Gov. Greg Abbott, who characterized the nonbinding advice as political correctness run amok.

“Stop political correctness in our schools,” Abbott, a Republican, tweeted Thursday in response to the story, first reported by Texas Monthly. “Of course Texas schoolchildren should be taught that Alamo defenders were ‘Heroic’! I fully expect the State Board of Education to agree. Contact your SBOE Member to complain.”

The Trump administration is diverting millions of dollars set aside for Palestinians in east Jerusalem hospitals to other projects.

The president directed the move following a review into how U.S. aid is being spent, according to a State Department official.

Officials say around $25 million planned for the East Jerusalem hospital network will go towards high-priority projects elsewhere.

This comes after the Trump administration announced it was diverting $200 million in economic support for programs in the West Bank and Gaza last month.

  6. It’s not 1918 anymore: Russia kicks off fight for Idlib with strategic inside slider
    By J.E. Dyer September 9, 2018

In the week leading up to Saturday’s Russia/Iran/Syria assault on Idlib – the last holdout province where rebels and ISIS fighters are holed up in Syria – Russia conducted a major exercise off the Syrian coast in the Mediterranean.

The exercise incorporated operations by Russian navy ships and submarines, naval infantry (which performed mock landings on the Syrian coast), naval air – and Tu-160 Blackjack bombers of the Russian strategic nuclear forces.

The size and scope of the naval portion of the exercise were certainly noteworthy. With a reported 26 ships involved, and live fire with large-caliber naval guns as well as deck-mounted machine guns, it was an impressive display.

The Russian navy has actually participated in significant naval engagements in the Eastern Mediterranean before. But not for nearly 200 years. The last game-changer engagements occurred in EastMed during and shortly after the Napoleonic wars, when Imperial Russia was driving down a stake – localized but significant – as a defender of Greek independence. (Russia had an extensive prior history of maritime activities and influence in the Aegean over the preceding century.)

    • We all know that every action Putin takes is designed to move Russia back into position as a major power in the world. He doesn’t like the idea that Russia is correctly considered to be a distant third in threats to the west. His maneuvers detailed in the article have all been designed ot position Russia as a major player in the Med, and Obama’s surrender of American Power to the aggressors of the world help him acieve this goal. Russia is still a distant third in threats to the West but he is moving to become tied for second place.

To an extent his moves to become a power in the Med are offsetting the moves Iran is making to become a Naval threat in the Med. Israel is working to stop Iran from gaining a Syrian Port for their fleet and Egypt is working to prevent an Iranian port in Libya. I would rather have a Russian Fleet as the enemy in the Med to an Iranian fleet. Although the Iranian fleet would be much easier for the US and/or Israel to take out. So far our confrontations with Iran have taken place where subs aren’t easily used because of the relatively narrow waterways. They could and have been used but the confrontations have generally been surface and air assets. In the Med the US and Israeli attack subs come into play and will become a major factor in all planning. Russia understands this but I am not sure Iran does.

  8. New Rally to Be Held in Chemnitz as German Citizen Dies in Clash With Afghans (sputniknews, Sep 9, 2018)
    https://sputniknews.com/europe/201809091067878442-german-chemnitz-rally-murder/

“BERLIN (Sputnik) – A new anti-migrant rally will be held in the southeastern German city of Chemnitz, as a 22-year-old German national was killed late on September 8 in a clash with a group of Afghan citizens, the Pro Chemnitz right-wing movement has announced.

The German national was fatally stabbed in the city of Kothen, located in the Saxony-Anhalt state. The German Bild newspaper reported, citing local police and prosecutors, that two suspects, both Afghan citizens, had been detained.

“The madness goes on! The Germans are slaughtered everywhere like cattle, we can’t let this happen! Everybody come to the Karl Marx monument [in Chemnitz] on Friday,” Pro Chemnitz posted on Facebook.

According to Bild, the suspects engaged in a row with another Afghan citizen and a German woman at a playground. When two other German nationals approached them, a fight erupted, which resulted in heavy injuries for the 22-year-old who later died in hospital. The victim’s brother has reportedly been tried over his right-wing stances.

On August 26, 35-year-old German national Daniel Hillig was stabbed to death in a fight. An Iraqi and a Syrian citizen have been detained on suspicion of murder. The case prompted several rallies in Chemnitz, during which a number of right-wing radicals called for the deportation of all the illegal migrants.

The protests have reportedly left 18 people injured, while hundreds have been detained.

On Monday, German Chancellor Angela Merkel condemned the rallies as promoting violence, while her spokesman Steffen Seibert voiced his support to Merkel’s stance, slamming the protest actions as an attempt to divide the country.”

“A German man has died following an alleged fight with Afghan men, police in the east German city of Köthen say.

The incident comes two weeks after a similar incident in Chemnitz, about 160km (100 miles) to the south, sparked violent protests.

The 22-year-old victim in Köthen died of head injuries. Two Afghan suspects have been arrested.

The circumstances of the fight are unclear. Neo-Nazi groups on social media have called for protests.

German media quote eyewitnesses as saying the fight broke out in a playground when the man and his brother got involved in an argument between three Afghan men.

“Two Afghans were provisionally detained on suspicion of homicide,” police said on Sunday.

In Chemnitz a Syrian and an Iraqi were arrested after a 35-year-old German man was stabbed to death in a fight on 26 August.

The incident led to clashes between far-right and anti-Nazi protesters and assaults on foreign-looking passers-by.

    • RT -Live: Anti-migrant groups march after fatal incident in Koethen

Anti-migrant groups are protesting in Koethen on Sunday, September 9, following a fatal incident overnight in the eastern German city.

The protest was called after police detained two Afghan nationals suspected of killing a 22-year-old German in Koethen overnight.

The incident happened two weeks after the death of another German man in the city of Chemnitz where two men, a Syrian and an Iraqi, were arrested as suspects. The situation led to massive anti-migration and far-right marches, as well as numerous counter-protests across Germany.

    • Hans-Georg Maassen: the spy who went out into the heat

BERLIN (Reuters) – Spies usually operate in the shadows. Hans-Georg Maassen, chief of Germany’s domestic spy agency, has done just the opposite and taken center-stage in a heated debate about the far-right that is shaking Chancellor Angela Merkel’s government to its core.

In comments to Friday’s edition of mass-selling daily Bild, Maassen said he was skeptical about reports that migrants had been hounded in the city of Chemnitz after the fatal stabbing of a German man there, for which two asylum seekers were arrested.

The violence in the eastern city has shaken Germany deeply. But Maassen said his BfV domestic intelligence agency had “no reliable information about such hunts taking place”, and that a video circulating showing that happening could have been faked.

Those comments put him at odds with Merkel, who said images from Chemnitz “very clearly” showed hate. She has also accused the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) party of using violent protests over the stabbing to stir up ethnic tension.

The upshot is that senior politicians are calling for 55-year-old Maassen to go. He will likely have to explain himself to a parliamentary committee this week. His own stance toward the far-right is also being questioned.

“Will the AfD soon have a new hero?” the Bild am Sonntag newspaper asked in a headline next to a picture of Maassen, whose face was plastered across German weekend newspapers and television bulletins.

Questions have been raised before about how aggressively Maassen has taken on the far-right, including the AfD, which he has resisted putting under surveillance.

A former leader of the AfD’s youth wing, Franziska Schreiber, wrote in her book published this year – “Inside AFD: The report of a drop-out” – that Maassen had advised ex-AfD leader Frauke Petry on how the party could avoid being put under surveillance by his office. He has denied giving such counsel.

      POLITICAL FALLOUT

A trained lawyer who forged his career in the Interior Ministry, Maassen has generally stayed out of the spotlight during his six years in charge of the BfV, though he has clashed with other more circumspect government officials for calling out Russia as the likely culprit behind cyber attacks on Germany.

In a 2016 interview with Reuters, Maassen said far-right extremists in Germany were increasingly ready to commit violent acts – a risk he has since flagged again.

On Friday, Maassen’s BfV intelligence agency said it would make further checks on information available about the Chemnitz protests as “there are always fake news and attempts at disinformation” on social media.

“Checks, in particular with regard to possible ‘hounding’ of migrants by right-wing extremists, will continue,” it added.

Maassen’s Chemnitz comments have aggravated tensions about whether politicians and the authorities are being too complacent in the face of rising xenophobia in Germany, where many thought the lessons of its Nazi history had long been learned.

The remarks have also split Berlin’s political class and re-opened fissures over immigration in Merkel’s ‘grand coalition’, only two months after she closed a painful row with her Bavarian sister party on the same issue.

Interior Minister Horst Seehofer, of the Bavarian Christian Social Union (CSU), has backed Maassen. Alexander Gauland, co-leader of the anti-immigrant AfD, told the Bild am Sonntag: “All accusations against him are politically motivated.”

But Malu Dreyer, a senior figure in the Social Democrats, junior partner in Merkel’s coalition, said he had created uncertainty and “destroyed” trust in the state. “So I do not think he is still the right man for this position,” she added.

  9. Intelligence Should Keep French Radical Vegans on Hook – Intel Research Center (sputniknews, Sep 9, 2018)
    https://sputniknews.com/europe/201809091067879165-intelligence-french-radical-vegans-hook/

“In light of the increased incidence of vegan campaigners attacking butcher shops, the owners of the latter have formally asked for police protection and special services have begun closely monitoring the most radical representatives of the nascent movement.

According to a number of experts that Sputnik France talked to, potentially dangerous elements for the meat-loving nation may number up to several hundred individuals. In the meantime, animal rights campaigners are protesting against what they call excessive police measures.

“Activists that take an unbending stance on the issue are not that easy to determine.

There may be several dozen or hundreds of them,” noted Éric Denécé, head of the French intelligence research center (Centre français de recherche sur le renseignement – CF2R) and the author of the book “Ecoterrorism, anti-globalism, ecology, animalism: from protest to violence.”

He went on to say that these activists constitute “a worrisome social layer,” which is “by far not sufficiently monitored by the authorities, the general directorate for internal security (Direction générale de la sécurité intérieure – DGSI) and the Central Territorial Security Service (Service central du renseignement territorial – SCRT).”

This “threat has been there in France for nearly 10 years already, and even longer abroad.” Some countries have even blacklisted them: “In the US and Britain there are even special police departments in charge of battling these people,” Denécé concluded.

“Among leftist extremists there is an ecological movement, which has gained considerable ground since the 1960s: it enjoys an increasing number of supporters and it resorts to violence more and more frequently. This is happening in the US, in Germany, and now in France. The vegan movement sprang to existence right afterwards,” Gérald Arboi, R&D Director at CF2R, told Sputnik.

In the meantime, representatives from associations that support animal protection, try to distance themselves from such radical protest measures…”

    • Abolitionist vegans… coming soon to a town near you.

With 51% of the vote, they will then outlaw all global consumption of meat.

“MIGRANT crime – and the shock report that almost 60 percent of men convicted in Sweden of rape and attempted rape over the past five years were born abroad – was today being blamed for the stunning rise of the hard right in the famously laid-back nation, which goes to the polls today.

The statistics, gathered by Swedish national TV, have been disputed but there is no doubt that immigration and crime have come to dominate the Swedish election.

The right-wing Sweden Democrats – whose roots stem from a yobbish neo-Nazo white power group in the 1980s – were barely a blip on the political radar a decade ago.

In the last election they won 13 percent of the vote but many pundits – and most bookies – say they are on target to be the biggest single party taking 25 per cent or more in Sunday’s vote.

The spokesman told The Associated Press the arrests took place along the border in northeastern Greece on Sunday. He denied Greek media reports that gunfire was exchanged during the incident.

The spokesman requested anonymity because the case is under investigation.

He says it’s not clear how the Turkish service members entered Greece or what their ranks are. The Greek army is investigating if others attempted to come into the country.

“Insurgents killed at least 29 Afghan security forces in separate attacks as many marked the 17th anniversary of the killing of a prominent anti-Taliban leader, officials said Sunday.

Hakmat Durani, spokesman for the police chief of Maidan Wardak province, said the Taliban attacked a district headquarters west of Kabul late Saturday, killing 10 police officers, including a district chief, and setting off a gunbattle. He added that dozens of insurgents were killed in retaliatory airstrikes by the air force, and that reinforcements were being sent to the area.

In a separate attack late Saturday, militants targeted a checkpoint in the western Herat province, killing nine security forces and wounding six others, said Gelani Farhad, the provincial governor’s spokesman. He blamed the attack on the Taliban, saying around 10 insurgents were killed and five wounded during the ensuing gunbattle.

Meanwhile in northern Baghlan province, Taliban fighters attacked security check points, killing 5 army soldiers, according to Ghafor Ahmad Jawed, spokesman for the Defense Ministry. He added that a gunbattle is still underway there and that reinforcements were being sent to the area.

Zabihullah Shuja, spokesman for the provincial police chief in Baghlan, said four police officers were killed in that attack.

No one claimed responsibility for either attack.

The attacks came on the eve of the anniversary of the killing of Ahmad Shah Masoud, who led the resistance against the Taliban in the late 1990s and was killed by suicide bombers two days before the Sept. 11 attacks in the United States. The U.S. responded to the attacks by invading Afghanistan to topple the Taliban, which had harbored al-Qaida operatives.

On Sunday, a suicide bomber targeted a convoy of mourners marking the anniversary, killing at least two people, according to Public Health Ministry spokesman Wahid Majroh. He said another 10 people were hospitalized, some in critical condition.

A police official who was not authorized to speak with the media said that at least seven people were killed and more than 25 others were wounded in the suicide attack that targeted the mourners in Kabul.

Kabul police spokesman Hashmat Stanikzai said that earlier Sunday another suicide attacker was shot dead by police in Kabul before he could detonate his explosives.

Afghan government officials commemorated Masoud’s death on Sunday by laying flowers at his monument in Kabul. Supporters of Masoud, including young people who came of age long after his death, fired guns in the air in an expression of mourning.

At least 13 people were wounded by the stray bullets, Majroh said.”

This is a TR video from Friday talking about joining UKIP.
Why TR might not be allowed to join UKIP is explained in the comments.
Barring people that were once in the EDL, BNP, etc. might have made sense a few years ago as UKIP was a one issue party, Brexit. But the Muslim situation has become so dire that I think that is moot now.
I think TR could bring at least 40,000, maybe more, motivated voters with him. It would be a game changer.

  19. Prosecutors say they were “mistaken” about the meaning of text messages sent by Maria Butina, a Russian woman accused of acting as an unregistered agent of the Russian government, that purported to show Butina offering sex in exchange for political access.

The acknowledgement by U.S. prosecutors came in court filings late Friday, CNN reported. The government, in July, claimed in a court filing that Butina offered “sex in exchange for a position within a special interest organization.”

Prosecutors, however, conceded on Friday that they misunderstood text messages sent by Butina, which were a significant part of their case against her.

  20. Rotherham Grooming Trial: Victim Raped by 100 ‘Asian’ Men by Age 16 (breitbart, Sep 9, 2018)
    https://www.breitbart.com/london/2018/09/09/rotherham-victim-sex-asian-men/

“A Rotherham grooming gang victim was raped by 100 ‘Asian’ men by the age of 16 after she was “passed around” by abusers from the age of just 13, a court has heard.
The girl, named only as Girl B in local media, described how she became pregnant and her childhood was “snatched away” as a result of the abuse she allegedly suffered between 1998 and 2001, in a video interview played at Sheffield Crown Court on Friday.

Jurors heard the testimony at the trial of eight ‘Asian’ men accused of sexually abusing five girls between 1998 and 2003, including Tanweer Ali, 37, and Mohammed Imran Ali Akhtar, 37, who are accused of indecently assaulting Girl B on multiple occasions when she was under the age of 16.

She said: “I can honestly say that by the age of 16 I had slept with 100 Asian men – some I didn’t see again. The ones who come and use you for one time are the ones who are hard to remember.”

“I didn’t know at the time I was being passed around when I was 13 but I know now I’m older,” she said.

“As soon as you get to know them your number gets passed around.

“Asian lads demanding to meet you – then you meet a new group and it went on like that,” added Girl B.

Reporting that her sister was also abused by Ali Akhtar, the girl said it felt like their childhood was stolen by their abusers.

“Before, we would just enjoy going on holiday with our granddad but we had advantage taken of us — we were children one minute and adults the next,” she told the court. “We were snatched away.”

The victim told the court she initially disliked Ali Akhtar, but eventually “fell” for the Rotherham-based delivery driver after he visited her “every day” when he finished his shift in the early hours of the morning, reported the Sheffield Star.

Ali Akhtar and the other men on trial have denied charges which include counts of child abduction, false imprisonment, indecent assault, rape, sex trafficking, and supplying cannabis.

There were reports in July of forces moving to unseat Sarah Champion as the Labour MP for Rotherham, where more than 1,500 girls were sexually abused, after she penned an article in the Sun stating that “Britain has a problem with British Pakistani men raping and exploiting white girls”.

Though it has been established by Quilliam research that 84 percent of convicted grooming gang members were Muslims of South Asian descent, Champion was forced to resign from Jeremy Corbyn’s Shadow Cabinet for having dared highlight the “common ethnic heritage” of attackers in the Rotherham scandal, which saw public service workers turn a blind eye to abuse so as not to stir up “racism” claims.

Leading members of the town’s Pakistani community, along with local Labour activists, are reportedly seeking to unseat the former Shadow Secretary of State for Women and Equalities, who now requires enhanced police security as a result of sustained attacks from so-called “anti-racist” forces and Muslim interest groups accusing the MP of “industrial-scale racism”.”

“Russian and Syrian jets resumed intensive strikes in Idlib and Hama on Sunday, residents and rescuers said, as Damascus stepped up its assault on the rebels’ last major stronghold after a Russian-Iranian-Turkish summit failed to agree a ceasefire.

They said Syrian army helicopters dropped barrel bombs – typically filled with high explosives and shrapnel – on al-Habeet and Abdin villages in southern Idlib and a string of other hamlets and villages in the area.

Resident Abullah Qasemsaid that at least fifteen helicopters dropped bombs on al-Habeet with at least two children killed and nine injured in strikes that destroyed dozens of buildings.

“We pulled children out of the rubble. Where is the world to speak out against these crimes,” he said.

The Syrian army denies using barrel bombs. However, United Nations investigators have extensively documented their use by the army.

At least another five people were killed in Qalat al Madiq in the northern Hama countryside by artillery shelling from nearby army posts and checkpoints.

Witnesses said hundreds of families had begun fleeing from villages and towns in southern Idlib that have been the target of heavy strikes closer to camps near the Turkish border.

Russian jets were believed to have hit the nearby towns of Latamneh and Kafr Zeita in northern Hama in a succession of raids, an organisation which monitors air strikes in Syria and a rebel source said…”

“At least 84 people have died around Yemen’s Red Sea port city of Hodeida since UN-brokered peace talks collapsed, hospital sources said Sunday.

Among the casualties are 73 insurgents and 11 soldiers, who died after talks were abandoned on Saturday.

Dozens more Houthi rebels and at least 17 soldiers have also been wounded.

The Saudi-led coalition, which backs the internationally-recognised government of President Abedrabbo Mansour Hadi, has been pushing to close in on the vital port city of Hodeida – through which some 70 percent of Yemen’s imports flow.

The UN has previously warned of a fresh humanitarian disaster due to fighting around the port city.

The coalition on Sunday was positioned to attempt to seize the main road linking Sanaa, the rebel-held capital, to the port city, a military official told AFP.

  25. Italy: 50 of the latest batch of migrants allowed in have vanished, Catholic Church let them go!

    Invasion of Europe news…..

It was less than two weeks ago that we told you about the stand-off between Interior Minister Salvini and the forces arrayed against him demanding he allow the latest migrant transport ship to unload its cargo.

    Father Francesco Soddu
Father Francesco Soddu of Caritas: After all they weren’t in detention! They “voluntarily” departed!

He relented once a commitment was made for most of the 144 to be placed in the care of other countries.

Additionally dozens were to be taken in by the Catholic Church (we cheered that agreement where the migrants would not be a cost to the taxpayers of Italy).

    Guess what?

It is those the church took in who have disappeared in to Europe!

  27. If there’s one thing America has learned during Brett Kavanaugh’s Senate confirmation hearings it’s that politics is an ugly, ugly game. And the worst part? Politicians’ kids aren’t exempt from being the scapegoat.

A couple days ago, television producer and screen writer Randi Mayem Singer, best known for “Mrs. Doubtfire,” took to Twitter to make it known that she opposes Kavanaugh and his position on a number of issues.

Out of all of the stupid tweets she sent out, the worst one was her first in the series. She’s hoping Kavanaugh’s daughters don’t get shot at school, something that’s a clear jab at the judge’s pro-gun stance.

  30. Kamala Harris, Planned Parenthood slammed for taking Kavanaugh out of context on birth control remarks

Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., and Planned Parenthood have come under fire after accusing Judge Brett Kavanaugh of describing contraceptives as “abortion-inducing drugs” — when he was only summarizing the position of a pro-life group.

The flashpoint came on Thursday when Kavanaugh was asked at his Supreme Court confirmation hearing about a case he ruled on that involved Priests for Life, who were challenging Obamacare’s contraceptive mandate that the group said violated their religious beliefs.

“That was a group that was being forced to provide certain kind of health coverage over their religious objection to their employees. And under the Religious Freedom Restoration Act, the question was first, was this a substantial burden on the religious exercise? And it seemed to me quite clearly it was,” Kavanaugh told lawmakers on the Senate Judiciary Committee.
