  2. Death Toll in Raging Fire Near Greek Capital Reaches 50 – Reports (VIDEO) (sputniknews, Jul 24, 2018)
    https://sputniknews.com/europe/201807241066630065-greece-wildfires-death-toll/

“The Greek authorities have declared a state of emergency in some districts to the east and west of Athens as flames are moving to nearby seaside towns, while strong winds are preventing firefighters from coping with the disaster.

According to the Red Cross official reports, 26 people were found dead at a villa in the resort town of Mati, north-east of Athens, where extremely powerful blazes trapped people in their homes.

Over 600 firefighters and 300 vehicles are involved in the rescue operations. Spain and Cyprus have offered their help on the issue, as Athens has asked for assistance from the EU…”

    • The best response to a wildfire is early evacuation because winds shift too fast to figure out an exit route. People may hesitate because they fear looting or they want to try fighting the fire themselves, figuring that their desire to save their home is greater than that of authorities. As the smell of the inferno increases, the willingness of fire chiefs be responsible for coordinating efforts decreases.

This “approach from behind”—clearly not including any Sappho–Lesbos inclinations—still manifests with the quasi-tumescent inability of Greece (and swim the English Channel?!?) as it barely copes even with such semi-erectile functions as … erummm … garbage collection and slathering all of those illegal “immigrants” with more Athena Kolymvari olive oil than a $100.00 Brooklyn pizza!

Just terrible that so many people were burnt alive.

      • Chief Scientist of Israel Parks Authority says that if fires continue it will prevent the ground from ever being fertile again.

        There’s an old forester’s saying:

These campfire circles were built with a lot of energy, but very little thought.

A single-use of such an innocent camping thing as toasting hot-dogs or marshmallows leaves behind, literally, “scorched earth”. It can take centuries for that small patch of earth to recover from just one Kumbaya-singing fire circle.

There are some micro-environments where even a single human footprint causes damage requiring years or decades to recover from. Just avoidable soil compaction around the roots of trees—called “Tree Protection Zones”—in any environment, be it urban, rural or suburban, causes unbelievable harm.

In many ways like ammonium nitrate fertilizers, fires scour out the existing soil biota. Something that usually requires centuries to accumulate before arable land is created.

Consider this, a single tablespoon of rich, natural humus soil can contain over a trillion organisms (mostly bacterial). Every single day, new strains of such biota are identified, even when there is little-to-no understanding of their ecological niche.

  4. Iranian UN Envoy Decries US Support for Mojahedin Militant Group – Reports (sputniknews, Jul 24, 2018)
    https://sputniknews.com/middleeast/201807241066635161-iran-us-un-security-council/

“Iranian ambassador to the United Nations Gholam Ali Khoshroo sent a letter to the UN Security Council last week, decrying Washington’s support for the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI or MKO), designated as a terrorist organization by Tehran, Tasnim News Agency reported.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran strongly condemns the US government’s illegal measures against the Iranian people, including its support for and financing of Monafeqin (MKO) as a terrorist group,” the letter said, as quoted by Tasnim News Agency.

According to the media outlet, the letter also expressed indignation over the fact that senior US figures such as President Donald Trump’s lawyer Rudy Giuliani and former Speaker of the House of Representatives Newt Gingrich attended a PMOI gathering on June 30.

The ambassador also denounced the US decision to remove PMOI from the list of terrorist organizations in 2012 as a double standard with regard to the war on terrorism.

PMOI, which supports the overthrow of the Iranian government, is considered to be a terrorist organization in Iran and was a US-designated terrorist entity until then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton delisted the group in 2012.

The Iranian authorities have accused the group of multiple terrorist attacks and linked it with the recent story around the detained diplomat from the Iranian Embassy in Vienna.

The diplomat was detained on suspicion of complicity in plotting a foiled bomb attack on a rally of an exiled Iranian opposition organization, the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), affiliated with PMOI. The meeting took place in the outskirts of Paris on June 30.”

  6. ‘Underestimated’: Women’s Role in Daesh Goes Beyond ‘Jihadi Brides’ – Report (sputniknews, Jul 24, 2018)
    https://sputniknews.com/middleeast/201807241066633588-women-daesh-beyond-jihadi-brides/

“A new report from the International Center for the Study of Radicalization (ICSR) at King’s College London has highlighted two under-examined populations in Daesh* – minors and women, with the researchers stressing that an increasing number of women have recently been engaged in terrorist plots across the world.

In their report, “From Daesh to ‘Diaspora’: Tracing the Women and Minors of Islamic State,” ICSR researchers Joana Cook and Gina Vale have warned that the threat of women and children affiliated with Daesh has largely been underestimated due to an absence of government data.

“The British citizens that have now been confirmed as returning to the UK have not been differentiated by gender, or age delineation, though women and minors accounted for 23% of British IS [Daesh] affiliates in Syria and Iraq,” the report read.

The experts suggested that 850 Britons joined the terrorist group in Iraq and Syria, including 145 women and 50 minors – but of the 425 who have come back to the UK, only two women and four kids have been confirmed.

“We believe some women may now pose a particular security threat based on several factors. These include physical security roles and related training that some women have undertaken in IS-held [Daesh-held] territory, and the potential to transfer or apply these skills in other locations, or to their children,” the authors wrote.

While considering the prospect of women becoming security threats, Cook and Vale said that the role of women has gone far beyond that of “jihadi brides,” they are increasingly being used as perpetrators of terrorist attacks, which are carried out in three forms – women-only cells, family cells, or lone wolf attacks.

The researchers cited the case Tashfeen Malik, who pledged allegiance to Daesh before killing 14 people in San Bernardino in 2015 alongside her husband, as an illustration of the changing views within the terrorist group.

They further emphasized that Daesh members had the ability to not only “direct underage attackers, but also inspire minors to plan and carry out their own atrocities,” and pointed to the example of Safaa Boular, who “married” a Syria-based jihadi via social media, and planned to attack the British Museum with knives and grenades. After being arrested, Boular encouraged her older sister and mother to complete her mission.

“Often brought to the ‘caliphate’ by a parent or ‘responsible’ adult, young children are rarely attributed individual incentives or ambitions for their involvement in terrorist groups. It is, however, widely publicized in IS [Daesh] propaganda and international media that children of this age underwent psychological indoctrination and physical training, culminating in their participation in acts of violence and abuse.”

The report suggested that minors required nuanced consideration, including “clear rehabilitative rather than punitive policies” upon their return.

“Although the number of attacks independently perpetrated by inspired minors remains low, foreign minors possess the ideological commitment and practical skills to pose a potential threat upon return to their home countries. […] Without such holistic responded, the stigma of the ‘IS-affiliate’ label may become a source of future isolation, disenfranchisement, and possibly radicalization of the next generation/incarnation of IS [Daesh],” they said.

The director of the ICSR, Shiraz Maher, stressed that the report’s findings will be helpful to the government, which needs to recognize that women and minors “are poised to play a significant role in carrying on the ideology” and need their own “unique responses.”…”

    • Black Widows – Chechen Republic — GENERAL TERMINOLOGY

      SUMMARY:
Female suicide bombers from the Caucasus, known as the Black Widows, have targeted Russian civilians and security personnel in multiple attacks over the past decade. In the Russian media, the term “Black Widow” has been applied to all female suicide bomber regardless of ethnicity and there are other groups bearing the monika “Black Widows.” In 2012 a Black Widow suicide bomber carried out an attack in Dagestan that killed a moderate Sufi cleric and six other people. The attack was the third in two months against prominent Muslim clerics who were working to promote moderate versions of Islam in Russia. The attacker, a convert to Islam whose current husband as well as two previous husbands were Islamist militants, was the first known ethnic Russian female to become a suicide bomber. They are called black widows because they have usually lost their husbands, brothers or close relatives in one of the two Chechen wars that Russia fought against Islamist rebels since 1994 or…

  7. Greece: Illegal Migrant Arrivals Surge 122 Percent, 7,000 Intercepted on Turkish Border in Last Week (breitbart, Jul 24, 2018)
    https://www.breitbart.com/london/2018/07/24/greece-illegal-migrant-arrivals-surge-122-percent-7000-intercepted-turkish-border-week/

“The number of illegal migrants crossing into Greece has surged by 122 percent compared to the same period last year, with the Turkish land border under increasing pressure.

Migrants had turned first to Italy and now Spain as their preferred entry point to the European Union after the bloc began paying the Turkish government billions of euros to curb the number of sea crossings to Greece following a massive influx in 2015.

But arrivals are now increasing dramatically as people-smugglers exploit the Greco-Turkish land border marked by the River Evros — which is not covered by the EU deal — with 24,000 total arrivals recorded by July 8th, according to Gerald Tatzgern, of Austria’s Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA).

This represents an increase of 122 percent on the same period in 2017 — and may significantly underestimate the true scale of the influx, as illegal migration is by definition poorly recorded, with the Dutch government indicating that two-thirds of the migrants reaching them have not been registered in another EU country beforehand.

The Turks are not completely ignoring the issue as they have been accused of in the past, however, with the ANSAmed news agency reporting that they have apprehended some 7,000 would-be migrants in just the last week.

Tatzgern suggested that, while the migrant crisis has been partly contained on the Greek front, this could all change depending on the situation in Turkey — for example, if the economy crashes and migrants cannot find any work, legitimate or otherwise…”

  8. Italian Priest Says Anti-Immigration Matteo Salvini Is ‘the Antichrist’ (breitbart, Jul 24, 2018)
    https://www.breitbart.com/london/2018/07/24/italian-priest-says-anti-immigration-matteo-salvini-antichrist/

“A Catholic priest has used some of the strongest language to date in condemning Italy’s Interior Minister Matteo Salvini, assuring the faithful that “we have before us the antichrist.”

Preaching in the crypt of Saint Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican, Father Alex Zanotelli told worshipers Sunday that they must resist the new immigration policies of the Italian government and urge the police to practice “civil disobedience to block the deportation of persons back to countries where their lives are at risk.”

At the offertory of the Mass, the priest had young members of the congregation bring forward sheets of paper with the names of the migrants who have died at sea in recent months, claiming that “33,000 are known to have died in the shipwrecks. Let’s double that to include those who have died crossing the desert and you can see what kind of catastrophe we have before us.”

The priest seems to have taken a certain liberty with the truth since recent reports by the United Nations migration commission (UNHCR) as well as the International Organization for Migration (IOM) indicate that the numbers of migrant sea deaths have been drastically reduced under Italy’s new immigration policies.

The actual numbers are around one-thirtieth of the figures reported by the priest.

During the first six months of 2018, migrant sea deaths in the Mediterranean numbered 1,058, less than half the 2,258 sea deaths registered during the same six-month period of 2017, when a more lax immigration policy was in place.

All data seem to suggest that Zanotelli’s “antichrist” has been responsible for saving many lives by discouraging migrants to make the perilous voyage across the Mediterranean.

Salvini noted that the Italian Coast Guard had successfully saved the lives of 40 African migrants by rescuing them at sea and taking them back to Libya.

“Willing is being able, I am all in,” said Salvini, whom polls have indicated is the most trusted politician in Italy.

In his homily Sunday, Father Zanotelli recounted asking the retired bishop of the southern Italian town of Caserta, Raffaele Nogaro, whether he may grant absolution to a penitent who confesses to supporting the politics of Matteo Salvini.

According to the priest, Bishop Nogaro told him to just say to the penitent: “Christ says certain things and Salvini says the opposite. You decide whether you can approach the sacrament. What communion do we do with the body of Jesus if we trample his living flesh in the weak?”

“There are some Christians who hang on every word coming from Salvini’s mouth,” the priest said. “We have before us the antichrist.”

Jesus did not try to save himself from the Cross by coming to terms with the priests of the temple, or with Herod, or Pontius Pilate, Father Zanotelli said.

“If you do not know where to go, choose the path of prophecy and not that of diplomacy,” he said.

In the past, Father Zanotelli has made headlines by calling Salvini a “racist” and suggesting that no true Christian could vote for him.

The priest has also credited Pope Francis for inspiring him to speak out on behalf of migrants.

“I give thanks to Pope Francis for his prophetic words regarding migrants,” the priest said last week, “and in particular in Lampedusa and in Lesbos.”

He also thanked the Italian bishops for announcing to the faithful that “the way to save our own humanity passes through the defense of every life, starting with those who flee from wars, misery, and climate change.””

  9. Concern After Belgian Locals Threaten to Take Law into Own Hands over Migrant Delinquents (breitbart, Jul 24, 2018)
    https://www.breitbart.com/london/2018/07/24/police-call-calm-belgians-threaten-take-law-their-own-hands-migrant-delinquents/

“Police in the Belgian coastal town of Zeebrugge have called for calm after members of the community threatened to take the law into their own hands over a series of robberies committed by delinquent illegal migrants.

The local residents of the small port, located just outside Bruges, have expressed outrage over an increased wave of robberies from cars and homes that have been attributed to illegal migrants, Het Laatste Nieuws reports.

Police have warned the residents against confronting the illegal migrants, many of which sleep in local playgrounds and on the streets, saying that they should call them before acting and not to blame illegal migrants for all of the recent thefts in the area.

“It is dangerous to assume immediately that the thefts are the work of migrants,” police said.

The police line was echoed by Mayor Renaat Landuyt who urged residents to “immediately report suspicious situations to the police. That is and remains the only correct solution.”

Last week alone, a total of 63 illegal migrants were arrested in the village for various offences in and around the port area, according to the police.

The experience in Zeebrugge echoes others around Europe. Last month, the leader of the community of Moria on the Greek island of Lesbos Nikos Trakellis warned that locals in his area were also becoming increasingly enraged by the actions of asylum seekers.

“We are all being duped here and in Europe. They’re making fun of us. The residents are ready to take the law into their own hands. We are trying to contain the local community, to preserve whatever social cohesion is left,” he said.

Residents in northern Paris also expressed their anger over thefts and harassment from underage illegal migrant street gangs, with 1,600 locals signing a letter demanding the local government take immediate action.”

Pay close attention to these two paragraphs they are telling us that the Europeans in two neighborhoods are on the edge of revolt. If this is two in two different neighborhoods in two different nations there are a lot more people in a lot more towns that are reaching the same level of frustration with their governments refusal to protect them frm the invaders.

Pay attention to the data points that are posted on the front page and in the readers links, none of this is happening in a vacuum the events are all tied together. The picture shown by connecting the dots (data points) is that the much predicted vivil war (by men and others) is about to start. Civil Wars are slow to start and are usually started for one of two reasons. 1) One political philosophy wants the war to take over the nation. (What is happening in the US). 2) The people are either oppressed by or deserted by their government. (What is happening in Europe.) We are about to discover if Europe can free itself from the Marxist governments and the Islamic Invaders?

Now, please think (however briefly) about Cuba. “It’s still one of those nations where you see donkey carts alongside cars, trucks and buses in downtown Havana because that’s exactly what they’d rather have for transportation…”

“A mother whose three-year-old son was the victim of an acid attack had been hidden in a safe house after a messy break-up before the ‘evil’ and targeted hit, it emerged today.

The woman, believed to be from eastern Europe, had been living with her three children in a quiet residential street in Worcester for the past eight months after a relationship ended.

Her child suffered serious burns when a bright pink acid was thrown over him as he sat in his pushchair in the city’s Home Bargains store on Saturday while his mother shopped.

Four men have been arrested in connection with the attack – and she is now in a safe house with her son under police protection amid fears they could be attacked again.

Three of the men were arrested 130 miles from Worcester in Walthamstow on Sunday and are reportedly eastern Europeans from the Romani community and accomplished bare-knuckle fighters, a neighbour in east London said.

(Reuters) – California’s power grid operator on Monday issued an alert to homes and businesses to conserve electricity on Tuesday and Wednesday when a heat wave is expected to blanket the state.

The California Independent System Operator (ISO), the grid operator, said it issued the so-called “Flex Alert” due to high temperatures across the western United States, reduced electricity imports into the state, tight natural gas supplies in Southern California and high wildfire risk.

The ISO’s alert followed an earlier notice by Southern California Gas Co (SoCalGas), the gas utility for the southern part of the state.

SoCalGas issued a gas curtailment watch on Monday, notifying customers to be prepared to reduce gas use if needed, with power generators expected to burn more fuel this week than usual to keep air conditioners humming.

DERBY LINE, Vt. (AP) — While the Trump administration fortifies the southern border, there’s growing concern over the number of foreigners entering the country illegally across the porous northern border with Canada.

Imam Mundhir Abdallah, who preaches in the Copenhagen neighbourhood of Norrebro at the Masjid Al-Faruq mosque, which media have linked to radical Islam, is accused of citing a hadith or koranic narrative calling for Muslims to rise up against Jews.

“Judgement Day will not come until the Muslims fight the Jews and kill them,” Abdallah said in a Facebook and YouTube video post in March.

“These are serious statements and I think it’s right for the court to now have an opportunity to assess the case,” public prosecutor Eva Ronne said in a statement.

This is the first time the prosecution has raised such charges under a criminal code introduced January 1 2017 on religious preaching.

Ronne said it’s legal to quote religious books like the Koran and the Bible, but that inciting or welcoming the killings of people could be punishable by up to three years in prison.

“It has always been illegal to accept killings of a certain group of people, but it’s new for us to target hate preachers,” she added.

The case will be brought before the Copenhagen district court but no trial date has been set, the prosecution said.

  16. Islamic State makes comeback in Iraq with switch to guerrilla tactics

BAQUBA, Iraq (Reuters) – Months after Iraq declared victory over Islamic State, its fighters are making a comeback with a scatter-gun campaign of kidnap and killing.

With its dream of a Caliphate in the Middle East now dead, Islamic State has switched to hit-and-run attacks aimed at undermining the government in Baghdad, according to military, intelligence and government officials interviewed by Reuters.

Islamic State was reinventing itself months before Baghdad announced in December that it had defeated the group, according to intelligence officials who said it would adopt guerrilla tactics when it could no longer hold territory.

Iraq has now seen an increase in kidnappings and killings, mainly in the provinces of Kirkuk, Diyala, and Salahuddin, since it held an election in May, indicating the government will come under renewed pressure from a group that once occupied a third of the country during a three-year reign of terror.

Easy peasy. Snuff one of their grand poohbahs and then wait for them to cluster up at the funeral. Rinse and repeat. (Unlike the abject treason in 2006 Afghanistan.)

      • That would work, won’t be used because our useful idiots are too opposed to any enemy civilians being killed and injured. If they had run WWII like this we would be speaking either German or Japanese.

    • Iraqis are protesting Iranian takeover, so militias are distracted from chasing ISIS. Most of all, from twitter sources [so-to-speak], they DEMAND their internet!!

There’s anger over IRGC-related corruption – diversion of promised revenues; there’s the age-old loathing of Safavid imperialists.

Arabs, even shittes, hate the prospect of a “Persian Crescent”.

      • Good question:
Can the Islamic State be defeated?

…ISIS is still active in a swath of territory that stretches from the Sahel in Africa all the way to the Philippines. It exploits ungoverned spaces, weak governments and ill-defended borders to percolate among existing extremist groups that have sworn allegiance to it.

These include Boko Haram in Nigeria, an ISIS affiliate in Niger that killed four US soldiers last year, “Sinai Province” in Sinai, the Khalid bin al-Walid faction in Syria next to the Golan, increasingly deadly fighters in Afghanistan and other affiliates throughout the world.

The 70-member anti-ISIS coalition that the US helped put together starting in August 2014 has an impressive list of members. But its mission is less clear today. The coalition recently met in Morocco, where 52 delegations, including 24 from Africa, attended.

Brett McGurk [He's on the other side!!], the special presidential envoy for the Global Coalition against Daesh, helped preside over the event. He was appointed under Obama and is one of the few high-level holdovers who has stayed on in the Trump administration. He provides consistency to the anti-ISIS campaign, but the campaign itself is not entirely clear on where it is headed. [To be-heading, perhaps?]

Iraq declared victory over ISIS in December 2017. Yet every day in Iraq brings news of more operations against ISIS and more attacks. On the roads between Mosul and Baghdad, and Kirkuk and Baghdad, ISIS activity has increased, and the extremists have emerged from caves and hideouts to put up fake checkpoints.…

Artificial embryos built from scratch using stem cells have been created by scientists.

Researchers bypassed the act of fertilisation by growing the self-assembling structures in the laboratory.

Although the cells used came from mice, the experiment has opened up a new frontier in embryo research with major ethical implications.

Creating embryos in the lab is expected to help scientists unlock the mysteries of early human development.

  19. Judge grants immunity for five witnesses in Manafort case; trial delayed until July 31

By Evan Perez, Marshall Cohen and David Shortell, CNN

Updated 6:41 PM ET, Mon July 23, 2018

Alexandria, Virginia (CNN)A federal judge in Alexandria, Virginia, granted the request Monday for five witnesses to testify with immunity in the criminal trial of former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort, the first trial in the Russia investigation by special counsel Robert Mueller.
US District Judge T.S. Ellis also delayed the start of the trial, originally scheduled for Wednesday, to July 31.
Ellis will begin meeting jurors this week as scheduled. When jury selection begins, one question potential jurors will not be asked is how they voted in the 2016 presidential election.
“Of course people can be fair and impartial no matter who they voted for,” Ellis said.

The jury will consist of 16 people, including four alternates.
The five witnesses granted immunity are: James Brennan, Donna Duggan, Conor O’Brien, Cindy Laporta and Dennis Raico. Court filings do not provide details as to what each will be testifying about.

  21. Israel: First ‘David’s Sling’ anti-missile launch a reminder of how Syrian war is changing the map
    By J.E. Dyer July 24, 2018

On Monday morning, Israel time, two David’s Sling air/missile-defense missiles were launched from northern Israel toward Russian-made SS-21 “Tochka” (Scarab) short-range ballistic missiles (SRBMs) used by the Syrian Army against ISIS fighters in Daraa Province.

The David’s Sling interceptors did not hit the SS-21 projectiles. However, the SS-21s reportedly landed in Syria, short of Israeli territory. The closest one came within a kilometer of the border.

One of the David’s Sling missiles was command-detonated by the IDF when it was clear there would not be an intercept. According to Times of Israel, the fate of the other interceptor has not yet been reported.

The Israeli missile commander made the decision to attempt the intercept based on the SS-21 trajectories, and the possibility that one or both could land in Israel. A number of reports have indicated that the initial projection showed the SS-21 might go as far as the Sea of Galilee (Lake Kinneret).

  22. Gillibrand: If Dems gain control of Senate, House, ‘first thing we should do is get rid of ICE’
By Daily Caller News Foundation July 23, 2018

Democrats should immediately move to abolish the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) if they regain majorities in Congress, Democratic New York Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand said on Sunday.

“So when we flip the House and flip the Senate, I think the first thing we should do is deal with the children who have been separated from their families at the border. I think we should get rid of ICE,” Gillibrand said at the New York City festival OZY Fest, where she shared a stage with left-wing actress Chelsea Handler.

“We should separate out two missions, the anti-terrorism mission, the national security mission, and then on the other side make sure you’re do, making sure you’re looking at immigration as a humanitarian issue,” Gillibrand added. 23. VIDEO: Chilling proof that Big Brother really IS watching
By LU Staff July 24, 2018

Buckle in for the most frighteningly Orwellian thing to come along in some time. In this video, which is making the rounds on Twitter (h/t Twitter user Nat Shupe), local news teams affiliated with the three major networks address the menace that has come to be known as “fake news.”

Each team, when seen in isolation by viewers in their broadcast range, comes off as conscientious journalists sharing their heartfelt views about this problem whose ostensible roots they lay bare. But when their message is seen in the context of this video, you get a chilling glimpse of the man behind the curtain who has really been manipulating the free press to promote his own left-wing political narrative.

    Watch. Then spread the word.

    • I looked into this a bit last time it was circulating.

I agree we have an increasingly Orwellian/Huxlian world. But this example may be more a function of corporate efficiency.

All stations owned by same people, write various general statements of principle read on local stations.

I think if there is blame to be had, its possibly for Bill Clinton who signed some bill when he was president that allowed companies to swallow up mammoth amounts of media. Clear Communications and radio stations is the example I usually draw on.

But this article may be misrepresenting the case a little.

      • OK, I forgot about the other time. Yes it is more a condemnation about the relaxing hte monopoly laws then big brother. In the long run both actions result in the same loss of freedom.

  24. The ‘Arabian Nightmare’ of the West
By Alexander Maistrovoy July 23, 2018

Terror as curiosity: countless sufferings without the realization of such …

In 1983, Robert Irwin wrote a fantasy novel, The Arabian Nightmare, about a young Englishman who was dragged into a whirlwind of sinister and ridiculous events in Cairo. The Arabian nightmare he learned was like a disease or a curse. It was terrible and obscene, monotonous, but yet fearful. It brought countless sufferings without the conscious recognition or realization of their origin…

The Arabian nightmare has come to the West. It has come invisibly and struck the West like an evil curse. It subdued Western people gradually – through arson, sexual violence, “Salafi” vice squads and Muslim parties, under the slogans of tolerance and multiculturalism.

The miserable Eloi of the West did not even understand that were turned into cattle, being slaughtered in the light of day on their streets. In a desperate attempt to escape from The Arabian Nightmare, the ruling elite used all conceivable methods of escapism.

Method #1: to equate terror with other types of violence. In August 2017, the Canadian Globe and Mail proclaimed that “Social networks should treat far-right extremists like Islamic State.”

  25. South Dakota police bust Antifa member with arsenal, bomb-making materials, manifesto
By Howard Portnoy July 23, 2018

Despite stories like this one, which give the impression that all Antifa and resistance members are losers and, therefore, harmless, some anarchists need to be taken seriously. One who fits that description is 43-year-old Mark Christopher Einerwold, who was arrested last week on burglary charges by police in Sioux City, S.D.

What police found while searching Einerwold’s apartment and car is no laughing matter. According to station KELO, authorities turned up an improvised explosive device, a quantity of ammonium nitrate and aluminum which when mixed together form of a volatile explosive powder, a cache of illegal firearms (among them a pistol, a sawed-off shotgun, and a silencer), a jacket with the word “Antifa” on it, and “indications of extreme hatred for the police, fire and the government.”

  26. Denver Post Runs Letter to Editor Suggesting Trump Should Be Executed

The Denver Post published a letter to the editor suggesting President Donald Trump should be executed for treason.

The letter criticized the president and Sen. Cory Gardner (R., Colo.) following Trump’s summit with Vladimir Putin in Helsinki, Finland, and said Soviet spies Julius and Ethel Rosenberg, who passed atomic bomb secrets to Moscow, were executed for “far less.”

The letter, written by Suzanne Gagnon of Lakewood, was in response to the paper’s editorial last week, which gave tepid praise of Gardner. The editorial argued the Republican senator “deserves credit” for taking a tough stance against Russia and sponsoring legislation to add Russia to the state sponsor of terror list.

“Sen. Cory Gardner is insipid, at best,” Gagnon wrote in her letter to the editor published Saturday. “His words are always carefully chosen and, if challenged, their intent open to ‘spinning’ to his own advantage. No surprise here he didn’t call President Donald Trump out by name.

“The legislation he has proposed is weak, not tough; it’s simply more wordsmithing,” she said. “Gardner is certainly not the only politician I take issue with, but I don’t see the Denver Post championing anyone else like you champion Gardner.”

    Kenneth R. Timmerman

Is the President of the United States a mere “twitter warrior?” Or is he really serious about Iran? Here is his early morning, all-caps statement that is making heads explode in the Twittersphere:

    Donald J. Trump
    ?
    @realDonaldTrump

To Iranian President Rouhani: NEVER, EVER THREATEN THE UNITED STATES AGAIN OR YOU WILL SUFFER CONSEQUENCES THE LIKES OF WHICH FEW THROUGHOUT HISTORY HAVE EVER SUFFERED BEFORE. WE ARE NO LONGER A COUNTRY THAT WILL STAND FOR YOUR DEMENTED WORDS OF VIOLENCE & DEATH. BE CAUTIOUS!

The proximate cause for Trump’s tweet was a threat by Iranian President Hassan Rouhani the day before to close the Strait of Hormuz to international shipping traffic, where he warned Trump, “Do not play with the lion’s tail; you will regret it forever.”

Rouhani himself was responding to a momentous speech at the Reagan Library by Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, where he outlined the new “Trump Doctrine” toward Iran.

“The mission set for our team is clear,” Pompeo said. “It’s to deny the Iranian leadership the resources, the wealth, the funds, the capacity to continue to foment terrorism around the world and to deny the people inside of Iran the freedoms that they so richly deserve.”

  32. Trump Makes Clear: Era of Appeasement Is Over
The Iranians receive just the warning they were asking for.
    July 24, 2018
    Joseph Klein
Iranian President Hassan Rouhani warned on Sunday that “America should know that peace with Iran is the mother of all peace, and war with Iran is the mother of all wars.” Reacting to the prospect of U.S. actions aimed at cutting off all Iranian oil exports by this November, Rouhani said that Iran could respond by shutting down international oil shipments in the strategic Strait of Hormuz, a threat the Iranian regime has made in the past. “We have always guaranteed the security of this strait,” Rouhani said. “Do not play with the lion’s tail; you will regret it forever.”

President Trump was not impressed. He tweeted what amounts to an ultimatum in all caps. Stop the threats against the United States or suffer severe consequences:

  33. Socialist Country That Doesn’t Believe in Inflation to Hit 1% Million Inflation

Being a bunch of coked up Marxists is no way to run a Bolivarian republic. But that’s the mess Venezuela is in.

The left-wing sociologist running the Venezuelan economy doesn’t believe in inflation. Last year he wrote a pamphlet in which he insisted that “Inflation does not exist in real life.”

Inflation certainly exists in Venezuela which has seen 500% inflation. The Socialist regime responded with price controls. When stores and farmers wouldn’t sell at set prices, soldiers were sent in to take them over. Crowds initially cheered all the subsidized products. But they wouldn’t be cheering for long.

The Socialist government tried to solve its money problem by printing more money. But it wasn’t able to pay for the money it wanted to print because of the inflation which officially did not exist.

Teachers sell passing grades to students in exchange for milk and flour. Lines at government stores are endless and an entire economy has been built on buying and trades spots on food lines. Fingerprint scanners are used to enforce milk rations. And a heavy military police and military presence is required to stop mobs of starving people from grabbing the food as soon as it arrives.

That was 2016. It’s 2018 and inflation still isn’t real. It doesn’t exist in real. It doesn’t!

On Sunday night, a Muslim named Faisal Hussain strolled calmly down Danforth Avenue in Toronto’s Greektown, a popular area known for its restaurants and cafes. Hussain pulled out a weapon and started firing into some of those restaurants, murdering two people and injuring another 13.

The most obvious explanation for this is that Hussain was answering the call of the Islamic State (ISIS) and al-Qaeda for individual Muslims to murder civilians in Western countries. The Islamic State issued this call in September 2014:

  35. Attacking A Toddler in Worcester
Britons profess “shock” at a now-daily phenomenon.
    July 24, 2018
    Bruce Bawer

On Saturday afternoon, a three-year-old boy was sitting in a stroller at a Home Bargains store in Worcester, England, when some kind of corrosive liquid – later described as a “pungent pink chemical” with “an astringent kind of smell” – was “thrown or sprayed” at him, causing serious burns on his face and arms. The boy was with his mother; news reports make no mention of a father. One suspect, a 38-year-old man, was apprehended on the spot and is in police custody; three others were arrested in London on Monday morning. One shopper said she had heard that the first man to be picked up was “a skinny white guy”; the others, seen in CCTV footage, look rather swarthy. This assault, as it happens, took place on the same day as an English Defence League rally in Worcester against the construction of a new £3 million mosque in that city and of counter-protests by an array of Muslims, students, trade unionists, and Antifa types.

At first rumors were rife that the assailants were EDL members, but this seemed unlikely: genuinely racist though the EDL is – Tommy Robinson quite admirably quit the group on that account – and despite its record of violence, causing grave harm to small tots isn’t part of its usual M.O. Still, savagery begets savagery. Not until Monday did the police rule out any EDL or gang involvement and, while withholding the names of the suspects, say that the child had been “deliberately attacked” and describe the assault as part of a “dispute in communities.” This sounded, of course, very much like one of those awkward euphemisms the British authorities insist on using whenever the subject is Muslims. (If the culprits were ordinary English guys, the cops would likely have said something like “neighborhood dispute.”)

  36. TORONTO SUN – FUREY: Toronto ISIS returnee is laughing at us – something must be done

There’s a guy walking about freely in Toronto bragging to the media about going abroad to join the Islamic State. He’s told The New York Times he killed people (executed them in the head, to be precise). Although he’s walked that part back.

He has, however, confirmed to Canadian media that he did go abroad to join up with ISIS, which is a serious Criminal Code violation. Section 83.18 says that, to quote in full, “every one who knowingly participates in or contributes to, directly or indirectly, any activity of a terrorist group for the purpose of enhancing the ability of any terrorist group to facilitate or carry out a terrorist activity is guilty of an indictable offence and liable to imprisonment for a term not exceeding ten years.”

Join ISIS? Go to jail for up to a decade. That holds even if all you did was clean the bathrooms or help edit their online videos.

While there are at least 60 returning foreign fighters in Canada, there have only been a handful of charges and only one notable conviction. Last year, Kevin Omar Mohamed was sentenced to four-and-a-half years for travelling to Syria in 2014 to join the al-Qaida-affiliated Jabhat Al-Nusrah.

Abu Huzaifa al-Kanadi, the jihadist code name of this new guy, certainly seems to have violated this part of the act. So why hasn’t he been charged?

This is what Conservative MP Candice Bergen was demanding to know during a heated exchange with Public Safety Minister Ralph Goodale in the House of Commons on Friday. Goodale’s response was that specific cases are operational matters so he won’t comment on them but that Canadians should sleep easy knowing that CSIS and the RCMP do excellent work and keep us safe.

Bergen wasn’t satisfied with this answer and you can’t blame her.

To say there’s the perception that Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and the Liberal government are soft on terror is the understatement of the century. This is the PM who emphasizes rehabilitation over prosecution, who still hasn’t explained why he drew the jets out of the ISIS bombing mission, who used his majority to ram through legislation letting convicted terrorists keep their citizenship, and who bizarrely chastised Conservative Leader Andrew Scheer as Islamophobic for asking basic questions about foreign fighters.

That said, the government doesn’t direct the federal prosecution services. The prosecutors act independently. The government’s soft on terror philosophy theoretically shouldn’t spill over into the justice system (unless, of course, they pass bills enshrining such an agenda into law, like with the citizenship case). So why aren’t the prosecutors laying charges, especially when you’ve got guys like Huzaifa admitting their misdeeds on record? The answer remains unclear.

The big argument we’ve heard over the past couple of years is that they just can’t compile the evidence. Iraq and Syria are destabilized regions that aren’t exactly known for their trustworthy records. And while a taped confession from the likes of Huzaifa goes a long way, prosecutors and judges will typically seek direct evidence.

A new trove of RCMP documents obtained by Global News reminds us of this: “Often, they require evidence of an individual’s activity in foreign conflict zones, or rely on information provided by partners that we are not authorized to disclose in court,” according to the documents. “The RCMP also faces challenges in collecting digital evidence, including access to encrypted communications.”

But while this is certainly part of the story, there are reasons to be wary that this is the full story.

For starters, many of the academics and experts who appear in the media to argue why prosecution is hard and rehabilitation is easier are actually being paid by the government to pursue this narrative. The Canada Centre for Community Engagement and Prevention of Violence is a division of Public Safety Canada that doles out grants to academics, not-for-profits, community groups and other levels of government to experiment with the new de-radicalization trend.

Secondly, and more importantly, it appears that there are cases when the RCMP and prosecutors make the discretionary choice to not lay charges even when they could. Back in 2016, then RCMP commissioner Bob Paulson told media that in the case of some radicals they don’t arrest them because “we assessed that they’re back, they’re sorry, they’re working to try to get their heads straight and we’re relying on family members or other professionals.”

You read that right: Some jihadists get off free if they say sorry.

Is this the case with Huzaifa? We’re told law enforcement has met with him multiple times. And if they know enough to warrant knocking on his door in regular intervals, can’t they convert that knowledge into evidence? Maybe.

“A case doesn’t have to be slam-dunk winnable the moment a charge is laid,” Toronto criminal lawyer Edward Prutschi told me in a phone interview while discussing this case. “It’s quite normal for police to lay a charge and say now we’re going to go out and acquire more evidence.”

If there’s any case that’s worth throwing everything you’ve got at it to secure a conviction, this is the one. He’s flaunting his ISIS credentials. He’s laughing at us.

This story will only further undermine public trust if it’s left in limbo like this. Something needs to be done.

  37. The Genocidal Assault on Nigeria’s Christians
    Where’s the international outrage?
    July 24, 2018
    Jack Kerwick

With the election of President Trump and the reported rise of nationalist parties across the Western world, leftists in America and beyond are having a blast self-styling as “resistors” to “fascism.”

They are outraged explicitly over the so-called “Islamophobia” of the President’s “travel ban.”

Yet the perpetually indignant, unsurprisingly, are utterly silent regarding the massive slaughter and persecution by Muslims of Christians throughout Africa, the Middle East, and Asia.

For example, how many people know that just last month, over a span of four days, militant Islamic Fulani herdsmen embarked on a killing spree that reduced a dozen Nigerian villages to dust and claimed the lives of at least 200 Christian men, women, and children?

Open Doors, an organization dedicated to serving persecuted Christians throughout the world, describes these targeted villages as Nigeria’s Plateau State, and describes the region as “the epicenter of Christianity in northern Nigeria’s Middle Belt.” The organization is still trying to piece together the events surrounding the genocidal attack of Nigerian Christians on June 25th,

  38. #AbolishICE Abolishes Ex-Homeless Food Cart That Fed Homeless
    July 24, 2018
    Daniel Greenfield

To paraphrase Michelle Obama, “When they enforce immigration laws, we threaten the daughter of formerly homeless food cart vendors whose proceeds fund the homeless.”

A Portland food cart is closing down following harassment and alleged threats of violence from protestors who objected to the business serving federal immigration agents.

Does it get worse? It’s the left. Of course it gets worse.

IDF shoots down a Syrian fighter jet

Today, a Syrian Air Force Sukhoi Su-22/24 fighter jet infiltrated about 1 mile into Israeli airspace before it was shot down after the IDF launched two Patriot missiles. The Syrian fighter jet fell in Syria, however there are no reports of what happened to the Syrian pilot.
