“An Islamist migrant who police allege savagely murdered a 65-year-old Jewish woman in Paris is considered unfit to stand trial, according to a psychiatric evaluation.
The case was brought in April, 2017 after Dr. Sarah Halimi was beaten and thrown off a balcony to her death by radical Islamic extremist Kobili Traore. According to investigators, Traore allegedly shouted “Allah hu Akbar!” as he savagely attacked the victim.
Halimi’s daughter said following the murder that Traore called her, the daughter, a “dirty Jewess” two years before the killing when they passed each other in the building.
In January this year, Traore was determined to be fit to stand trial. He was placed in a psychiatric hospital for weeks after his arrest despite having no history of mental illness.
But a judge requested a second series of tests, which determined that the Malian immigrant was not able to stand trial, 20 Minutes reported on Wednesday.
“We do not understand the determination and procrastination that consistently seeks to turn this killer into a demented person, when he is a murderer whose presumed detention doesn’t even hide his hateful anti-Semitism,” Francis Kalifat of the Jewish umbrella group CRIF said after the decision was made not to proceed to trial.
The official response to the murder from the government, prosecutors, and the media has caused much anger and hurt amongst Parisian Jews.
Alexandra Laignel-Lavastine, a French journalist the Algemeiner describes as an expert on anti-Semitism, even felt compelled to write an open letter addressing the matter to president Emmanuel Macron’s incoming government last year.
“A 65-yr old Jewish lady MD, during her sleep, is attacked and atrociously tortured for more than one hour,” begins the letter, addressed to interior minister Gerard Collomb.
“She lives in a modest apartment in the 11th arrondissement of Paris, rue Vaucouleurs. The murderer, who reached her apartment through the balcony, attacks with incredible violence, resulting in about twenty fractures all over her face and body.
“He then throws her, dying, out of the window, from the 3rd floor. During all this time, the police (3 men with weapons, present in the building just outside the apartment door) do nothing. The neighbours (several dozen) can hear the victim’s yells: they do nothing either. The French media are alerted. They make no queries and do not report the murder.”
France’s half-a-million-plus Jewish community is the largest in Europe but has been hit by a wave of emigration to Israel in the past two decades, partly due to the emergence of a virulent strain of anti-Semitism in predominantly immigrant neighbourhoods.
As Breitbart Jerusalem reported, almost 5,000 French Jews emigrated to the Jewish State in 2016 alone.
They were in addition to the record 7,900 who left in 2015 and 7,231 in 2014. In total, 40,000 French Jews have emigrated since 2006, according to government figures, with many leaving for the sole reason that they feel safer in the war-torn Middle East than they do in Paris.”

“Algeria’s deadly expulsions of migrants into the Sahara Desert have nearly ground to a halt after widespread condemnation and the abrupt firing of two top security officials.
The expulsions to the desert borders that Algeria shares with Niger and Mali have all but ended since The Associated Press reported less than three weeks ago that more than 13,000 people, including women and children, had been dropped off in the stark, dangerous region since May 2017, according to officials with the U.N.’s International Organization for Migration.
Before the AP reached out to Algeria for comment and published the report on June 26, the North African nation was expelling migrants by the hundreds almost every week into the unforgiving desert, sometimes to their deaths.
Algeria has refused repeated AP requests for comment on the expulsions.
The European Union also declined to comment. The expulsions came as Europe is pressuring North African governments to head off the migrants before they can cross the Mediterranean Sea.
An aid worker with contacts in Algeria told the AP that the mass detentions continue, but now migrants, including dozens of pregnant women, are warehoused in overcrowded jails. The worker requested anonymity to avoid retribution from the Algerian government.
Algeria also continues to deport migrants from neighboring Niger, with which it has had an expulsion agreement since 2015. But while migrants from other sub-Saharan countries were dropped in the desert secretly and forced to walk for miles under the blistering sun, the Nigeriens have long been driven to the border by convoys. After the AP report in June, Algerian officials invited local media to watch such a round of deportations to prove they were humanely done.
Since the AP report, Algeria’s security forces have fallen into disarray, with the head of the gendarmerie and the chief of national security both being forced from their jobs. It is unclear why the men were fired, but both were linked to the migrant expulsions in the desert as well as to an unrelated corruption scandal involving the seizure of more than 700 kilograms (1,550 pounds) of cocaine from a cargo ship in May.
In its few public statements, Algeria has insisted that migrants are treated appropriately, but the U.N. High Commissioner for Human Rights has condemned the expulsions in the desert. Two days after the AP report, Human Rights Watch also released an investigation into the forced desert marches.
“Algeria has the power to control its borders, but that doesn’t mean it can round up people based on the color of their skin and dump them in the desert, regardless of their legal status and without a shred of due process,” Sarah Leah Whitson of Human Rights Watch said in a statement.
Migrants filmed videos of themselves fanning out across the open desert, stumbling through heat that reaches above 50 degrees Centigrade (122 degrees Fahrenheit) in summer as Algerian gendarmes with guns ensured they did not turn back. Of the more than two dozen migrants who AP journalists interviewed in Niger, nearly all reported seeing deaths during the forced march, which sometimes lasted days.
Even before the AP report, the conditions that migrants were enduring in the Sahara Desert had been an open secret among aid workers as well as governments in Africa and Europe. The African Union had already complained about Algeria’s policies toward migrants in a statement in May.
“We cannot accept African countries ill-treating Africans, even if they enter the country illegally,” the chairman of the AU Commission, Moussa Faki Mahamat, said this week in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
European Union officials say they discussed the desert expulsions with Algerian government officials privately in recent months, but the EU nonetheless settled upon Algeria as one of a handful of countries where it had hoped to set up centers to sort economic migrants from asylum-seekers fleeing for their lives. Algeria refused the dubious honor, as did multiple other countries.”

The refugee costs are a German taboo topic
Germany has shown great generosity in accepting refugees. How the “welcome culture” continues, however, is uncertain. The costs are enormous.
The German activists walk on stilts through the country. They talk and promise this and that, but the refugee crisis, which has been haunting people for the last two years and is high on the list of concerns after all polls, is usually ignored. Thus, under the banner of economic satisfaction, it “huddles and rumbles”, as the Rheingold-Institute, which specializes in in-depth interviews, has never established its severity.
Worried citizens are outraged above all because they would not receive any answer to urgent questions: How many migrants from foreign cultures will Germany still accept? What about the (non-) integration of the approximately 1.7 million people who have applied for asylum since 2014? What does the officially proclaimed “welcome culture” cost, and who pays for it? One feels reminded of the elephant, which is visible to everyone in the room, but whom nobody wants to address.
Labyrinth of statistics and responsibilities
This is also possible because this elephant is indeed in the room, but does not appear in full size. The refugee costs are spread over many budgets. Anyone who asks the Berlin government for the total amount will be sent into a labyrinth of statistics and responsibilities. But one decisive number does not exist: that of all expenses for a clearly defined group of people. For a country that otherwise counts every screw, this can only be explained by the fear of the citizen. The Bochum administrative scientist Jörg Bogumil has also identified a “striking competence/expertise/ and organizational failure”.
After all, these are not small things, but huge budget posts. The federal government alone wants to provide 93.6 billion euros to supply refugees from 2016 to 2020. Since the federal states complain about getting reimbursed at most for half of the costs, they would therefore be estimated annually between 30 and 40 billion. It remains unclear whether the additional expenditures for 180,000 new kindergarten places, 2,400 additional primary schools and the promised 15,000 police officers are included.
The administrative courts alone demand 2000 more judges to handle the asylum wave, which has quadrupled since 2015 to 200 000 opposition proceedings. The Robert Koch Institute in turn points to a drastic increase in dangerous infectious diseases such as tuberculosis or AIDS, which have come with the refugees in the country.
Indirectly, Development Minister Gerd Müller confirms such high sums. The CSU politician anticipates: “For one million refugees, the federal government, states and municipalities spend 30 billion euros a year. The money would be better spent in the countries of origin. “The Institute of German Business (IW) estimates the amount is 50 billion, which has also benn calculated by the Council of Economic Experts for 2017. The Kiel Institute for Economic Research calculates sum up to 55 billion euros per year.
Gloomy perspectives
By comparison, the Federal Ministries of Transport (27.91), Education and Research (17.65) and Families, Women, Senior Citizens and Youth (9.52) must all divide that sum between themselves in this election year. Or to put it another way: assuming Minister Müller’s calculation, each person seeking protection in Germany costs 2500 euros per month. This corresponds to the tax burden of twelve average earners (3000 euros per month, tax class III); or one of five singles (tax class I) in this middle income bracket. For an unaccompanied juvenile migrant even up to 5000 euros per month are estimated.
Meanwhile, no economist or manager claims that mass immigration is a blessing for the German state. On the contrary: because of the low level of education, the financial scientist Bernd Raffelhüschen calculates “that every refugee in his lifetime costs on balance 450 000 euros”. With two million immigrants until 2018 add up to a total cost of 900 billion euros.
However, the numbers could be even higher – because of the many new long-term unemployed. In fact, only 13 percent of the refugees are currently working, and most of them only as interns or assistants. Because 59 percent of them do not have a school degree. Many are illiterate.

A spate of recent reports has revealed a surprising trend in the Trump-Russia investigation.
Mother Jones reporter David Corn, a team of journalists from The Associated Press and independent anti-Trump blogger Marcy Wheeler have all been revealed in recent weeks to have passed information to the FBI and to the Department of Justice regarding various aspects of the Trump-Russia probe.
A report in The Hill on Tuesday revealed that Corn shared a copy of the infamous Steele dossier. In April 2017, four AP reporters provided information about their own investigation about former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort to Justice Department and FBI officials. And Wheeler, a national security blogger, recently disclosed that she acted as an informant of sorts for the FBI by providing the name of a person she believes was acting as a Russian agent.
The revelations have touched off some debate over whether the journalists crossed ethical boundaries by sharing sensitive information with the government. The harshest criticism has been directed at Wheeler, who acknowledged the she “broke one of the cardinal rules of journalism” by disclosing a source.

Trump’s ‘Direction of Country’ poll data are strong and significant

If you are looking for clues as to whether a midterm election “blue wave” will drown Republicans and deliver Democratic control of Congress, then look no further than a decades-old polling question formally called “Direction of Country.”
Informally, this traditional political indicator is often referred to as “Right Direction/Wrong Track” (RD/WT). The question asked is if one thinks the country is heading in the “right direction” or on the “wrong track.” The results averaged from several polls, are displayed daily on Real Clear Politics.
Glancing at today’s RD/WT data leads me to a midterm prediction of “calm water” instead of that much ballyhooed “blue wave.” This prediction is based on the fact that since President Trump took office, RD/WT numbers have significantly improved compared to President Obama’s numbers at this point in his first term. Proving once again that, “It’s the economy, stupid” is more than just an old cliché.
However, before we discuss specific RD/WT data between the two presidents, it is important to note that since the RD/WT question was first asked in the 1970s, the overwhelming majority of American voters have believed that the country is on the wrong track, with only a handful of exceptions. Aliens find noncitizen voter registration easy
Abdel showed up at his local Pennsylvania motor vehicle office to take his driver’s license test — and walked out having registered to vote, even though he is not a citizen.
He said his command of English isn’t good and the computer system was unclear, but he somehow managed to sign up even though he knew he shouldn’t.
Then there was Angelo, who figured he could vote because he joined the U.S. military, even though he wasn’t a citizen. He, too, signed up at the Pennsylvania motor vehicle bureau and registered as a Democrat. He then voted nearly every year from 2001 through 2014.
He finally wrote to Allegheny County asking to be stricken from the rolls, saying he had been ineligible all along.
Angelo and Abdel are some of the more than 130 people the county has nixed from its voter lists in recent years after discovering they weren’t U.S. citizens and should never have been allowed to register, much less vote, according to a report being released Thursday from the Public Interest Legal Foundation.

A new study[1] of Salafism in Sweden, conducted by the Swedish Defence University, paints a bleak picture of the ongoing radicalization of Muslims in Sweden.
The Salaf are the “pious ancestors” during the first three generations of the followers of Mohammed; its ideology has come to be associated over the last few decades with al-Qaeda and ISIS, as well as with local al-Qaeda affiliates. According to the study, Salafists, who believe in Islam as Mohammed’s early followers practiced it, tend to reject Western society in favor of a “pure” Islam: “Not all Salafists are jihadists, but all jihadists are Salafists”. [2]
Although the study does not give an estimate of how many Salafists are in Sweden, it does describe how Salafist milieus there have evolved and grown stronger, especially during the past decade, and lists several examples of the influence they wield in different Swedish cities and localities.

Judicial Watch released 224 pages of documents yesterday showing that the Obama administration allowed 1000 “Unaccompanied Alien Children” (UAC’s) to cross the border who admitted to crimes ranging from drug smuggling and murder to human trafficking and rape over a period of only six months.

FBI agent Peter Strzok testified Thursday before the U.S. House that the Office of the Inspector General allowed him to decide which of his text messages with former FBI lawyer Lisa Page he would turn over to investigators — and which he would withhold.

Pakistan: At least 70 dead, 120 injured as bomb rocks Balochistan Awami Party’s election rally
Two powerful bomb blasts targeting politicians contesting in the general elections today killed at least 70 people, including a candidate, and injured nearly 120 others during election rallies in Pakistan’s restive Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces.
Militants targeted a gathering of the Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) leader Siraj Raisani in Mastung area of Balochistan province.
“Raisani succumbed to wounds while he was being shifted to Quetta,” District Police Officer Mohammad Ayub Achakzai said.
Raisani is the brother of former Chief Minister of Balochistan, Nawab Aslam Raisani The nature of the attack was not known and police and intelligence agencies were trying of figure out if it was a suicide bombing.
The attack came hours after a bomb hit a rally of Akram Khan Durrani of Mutahida Majlis Amal (MMA), an alliance of religious party, including Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazal (JUI-F) and Jamaat-e-Islami, in Bannu area of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province.
Durrani was unhurt in the attack. He later visited the injured in a hospital in Bannu and said that his vehicle was damaged in the attack.
Durrani who is contesting in July 25 elections against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf chief Imran Khan announced to continue campaign despite threats.
The law and order had suddenly deteriorated ahead of elections despite claims by the government and security forces that terrorism has been wiped out of the country.
President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Nasirul Mulk also condemned the attack in separate statements.
On Monday, a suicide bomber killed Awami National Party (ANP) leader and candidate in the general elections, Haroon Bilour and 19 others after striking at a corner election meeting in Peshawar city.The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack on the ANP rally.

More than 70 people have been killed following a blast at an election rally in southwestern Pakistan, officials have said.

When we say or write the word “war” battlefield images come to mind, but in this day there are new kinds of war. Fox News – Rosenstein says 12 Russian intel officers indicted in special counsel’s probe
A federal grand jury has indicted 12 Russian intelligence officers for allegedly hacking the Democratic National Committee, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee and Hillary Clinton’s campaign during the 2016 election.
All 12 are members of GRU, the Russian intelligence agency.
Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein announced the indictment during a Friday press conference. It stems from Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s probe into Russia’s efforts to interfere in the 2016 presidential election.
The announcement came at the same Trump was meeting with Queen Elizabeth II in England, with plans to meet Russian president Russian President Vladimir Putin for a summit in Helsinki on Monday.
Russian individuals have previously been indicted as part of the case. In February, Mueller brought a case against 13 Russians and three Russian companies who are accused of setting a “strategic goal to sow discord in the U.S. political system, including the 2016 presidential election.”
In that case, the defendants are accused of spreading derogatory information about Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, denigrating Republican candidates Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio — and ultimately supporting Democratic candidate Bernie Sanders and then-Republican candidate Donald Trump.

As long as the special counsel investigates they can refuse to answer questions about the investigation.
Many people have demanded that Robert Mueller end his investigation. But he won’t. As long as the special counsel investigates Russia and stupid lies about collusion and affecting an election deep state agents can say they won’t answer questions about an “open investigation.”

Democrats Delaying Judge Kavanaugh would Help Trump and the GOP
The Democrats in the Senate are considering trying to obstruct the confirmation of Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court.
Why?
Some of the Democrats believe that they can keep Kavanaugh from being confirmed until after the midterm elections, because they (foolishly) believe they can win back control of the Senate.
Here’s the problem…
First, they are NOT going to win back control of the Senate. (The House, maybe.) Second, by dragging their feet on the confirmation of an eminently deserving Judge like Kavanaugh, they risk angering conservatives and independents and making the more likely to vote Republican.

His first talk in Brussels was a profoundly wrong bashing of Germany to push it into buying very expensive LNG from U.S. fracking producers. Trump, Putin’s puppet according to the ‘resistance’, used the Russian bogeyman to set the scene

Nord Stream I has been operating for a while. Nord Stream II is currently being build by private Austrian and German companies.
The big advantage for Germany is that these pipelines do not run through any other country. Other pipelines from Russia, built in the 1970s, run through the Ukraine and Poland to Germany. They are used by all three countries to receive gas from Russia.
Whenever the Ukraine has no money to pay Russia for gas and does not pay its dues, Russia will send less gas through the pipeline. The gas for Germany and Poland is supposed to continue to flow without the Ukraine taking any of it. But the Ukrainians cheat. They steal the gas that is supposed to pass through without paying for it. In the end Germany has to give money to the Ukraine so that the Ukraine can pay Russia. This happened in 2006, in 2008 and again in 2014.
Enough is enough. Nord Stream prevents such blackmail of Germany by the Ukraine.

Compressing the U.S. natural gas into liquefied form for sea transport takes so much energy that the price is inevitably much higher than Russian gas delivered through pipelines. In Germany it will never be competitive to Russian gas. It is understandable that Trump wants Germany to buy U.S. produced liquefied gas. But without competitive pricing and a more plausible sales argument he will have no luck.

There are two kinds of villains in TV mystery shows. The plausibly sympathetic type and the smirking creep.
Peter Strzok had rehearsed all the lines of the plausibly sympathetic type. The character that James Comey is trying to play. A man so upright that he combs his hair every hour. But Strzok couldn’t help that smirk. Every time he clashed with the impotent House Republicans barraging him with questions that he dodged or refused to answer, the smirk crept over his face and into his voice.
And what was meant to be one character became another character.
Public testimony of this kind is a performance. But Strzok couldn’t helping letter his inner self, the one we got to know from his texts, slip through. Both slimy and self-righteous, he came out of the closet in moments like this exchange with Louie Gohmert that quickly went viral.
All Strzok needed to do was stick to his 2 lines of defense
1. You can’t prove that my bias affected my work
2. As an FBI agent, I’m far too noble to do wrong
But as Gohmert goes after him, the smirk comes out. Because it is personal for him.
Strzok hates Republicans. He hates Trump. And while his career might be a shambles, he’s getting personal satisfaction out of sitting there and thwarting them. It’s a grave error.
Gowdy, a former prosecutor, and Gohmert, a former judge, understood that weakness and played on it. Just like TV show detectives play on the poor self-control of their suspect.
Strzok, who had done this a thousand times from the other end, lacked the self-control to keep that smirk in check. To play the role written for him. Instead he had to show his contempt which undermined his character defense leaving him with just the tired con’s refrain, “You can’t prove I did it.”
Instead of doing what he needed to do, Strzok grew overly defensive, refused to concede any point, took any opportunity to speechify, interjected, argued and smirked. The boy couldn’t help himself. And didn’t. He had waited too long to be able to do this. And so he did it.
He went in thinking that he would play his interlocutors. Instead they played on his weaknesses.

Last November the Justice Department opened an investigation into Harvard’s admission practices, and is threatening to sue the university, throwing its support behind the plaintiffs. The plaintiffs have viewed admission records through discovery, and want them publicized because the evidence for arbitrary and discriminatory evaluations is so obvious no trial is necessary. More recently, the Trump administration has rescinded Obama’s 2011 rule advising universities to use race as a criterion in admissions. Finally, the retirement of Justice Anthony Kennedy creates an opening for a Constitutionalist judge who will not, as Kennedy has serially done, subordinate the law to politics or social engineering.

Prison Labor: Modern SLAVERY?
Like literacy and innumeracy (mathematical inability), vocational literacy is an issue that will reach far past the prison system and deep into society. Oxford University predicts that in a decade or two, 40% of all jobs will disappear forever.
If we do not prepare the next few generations of young Americans for real jobs (and not ones like burger-flipping that will be displaced by automation or AI), then we’d better start building a lot more prisons.
Most prisoners are glad to get out and about and do not mind the work as it save the hours at the gym, relieves the boredom and cuts down on the violence. However in the extreme that were the Gulags and the KLs where people were worked to death deliberately it was a totally different ball game.
