  1. Hours cross-checking, sad reality:
Some of the videos of protest in Iran were actually recycled Bahraini clips, years old.

    • Damn, if you can’t trust some random tweets and FB posts, what can you trust!?
Seriously, it begs the question though, who posted the clips and why? Just some troll, or was there an org behind it?
Somebody wanted to damage the Iranian regime? If the original clips were in the public domain, it was a rather clumsy attempt.

      • “Damn, if you can’t trust some random tweets and FB posts, what can you trust!?”

        Ermm … yerself?!?

        • Dear yucki, thank you for the research. I really enjoy your deep knowledge of endless MME nonsense.

        • MEK is on the ground and in exile communities. Azeris, Baluchis. Other Iranians in exile (like the pro-Shah faction) are motivated to speed things up.

Once the tweets are posted, everybody reposts: it builds momentum, enthusiasm for what looks “inevitable”.

          Which it is – eventually.

This will happen. But the raw power of the regime can’t be underestimated. The Basij is the Gestapo: they pick off rebel leaders after every protest. Everything’s still mostly underground. It’s anybody’s guess how it’ll go down.

Iranian Kurds are reliable for cross-checking reports. While individuals repost real and fake with great enthusiasm, legit political parties and military communiques are more cautious.

The good news is they ARE moving ahead, and they DON’T act on rumors. It’s still rather tentative, but full sanctions don’t even kick in till November.

Iranian Kurds increase campaign against Tehran regime

As Iran suffers from economic stagnation, the country is ripe for more sustained protests and armed opposition to the regime.

        • Thank you very much.

All morning at the VA, getting my eyes checked, new glasses ordered (finally they are giving me photo-grade glasses), in September they are going to check my cataracts to decide when they will be ready to remove.

          • They wait a long while until the removal of the cataracts can actually improve your vision. With early removal your vision is actually worse.

      • I’ve been snooping around for more answers.
=> => “Warmonger neocons” – if you’ll excuse the expression that’s all too often cryptic for joozz.

  2. EXCLUSIVE! CASH FOR TERROR REGIME! Mullahs want to fly 300 million euros in cash from Germany to Iran

According to information available to BILD, the Iranian regime intends to fly 300 million euros in cash from Germany to Iran. The background is that, in the coming months, strict US sanctions against the Iranian financial sector will come into effect. The mullahs are worried that they will run out of cash. Iran’s justification for their plan says that they need the money “to pass it on to Iranian individuals who, when travelling abroad, are dependent on euros in cash due to their lack of access to accepted credit cards”.

American and Israeli intelligence services are alarmed. They are concerned that the cash money will, for instance, be used to finance terrorism. The German government, however, says that German intelligence services have no evidence of this. At the same time, with cash money, there can hardly be any concrete evidence of this kind anyway.…

The Bundesbank is asked to pay out 300 million euros in cash and to hand them over to representatives of the Iranian regime. They will then transport the money to Iran on board Iranian airplanes.…

The fact that the mullah regime has repeatedly used euros or dollars in cash to finance, for example, militias in the Syria war or the terrorist organization Hezbollah and terrorism directed against Israel. This is why Iran’s plan is so controversial and why it antagonizes Israel and the US.

  3. John Meyer, the journalist who broke the story about the 0 administration’s hands-off Hezbollah terrorist policy, now writes about the Afghan drug/terror scene:

The secret story of how America lost the drug war with the Taliban
A high-stakes plan to indict Afghan drug lords and insurgency leaders on criminal conspiracy charges ran afoul of the Obama team. Five years later, it remains buried under Trump.

    • “The secret story of how America lost the drug war with the Taliban”

This is so ridiculous! Let’s get crucial…

Buy out the entire annual Afghan opium crop. Cost? Less than a billion or three.

Use the morphine for US hospice treatment of terminal cancer and HIV patients.

Simultaneously starve out the Taliban and Mafia. Win-win!

Save countless lives of idiot stoners on American streets. Reduced health-care.

Cool down the gateways into South American “black tar” heroin addiction.

Reduce international user entry into opioid abuse.

Make a yuge grey economy in Afghanistan disappear.

Fü¢k up a major chunk of the very nastiest and most illicit global economy.

Interfere with a substantial funding source for terrorist networks.

For a lousy few billions yearly? Please halt all damned moralizing. One & done.

      Are we finished yet? …

These Pashtun farmers ain’t gonna make this money growing rice … Capiche?

Or is it just too excruciating for Western nations when it comes to maintaining the pretense of their puritanical drug-free nonsense?!? “Just say no!” has its limits and this is one of them. End pain, deliver mercy, reduce misery, prevent addiction, save lives, reduce opioid overdoses, slow addiction, interdict terrorist funding, and GROW A FÜ©KING BRAIN!

We squander TRILLIONS on this GWOT. Howsabout just a rare few billions to strangle this little poppy puppy in the kennel? Eh?

All criticisms and censorship are truly welcome. This is a “problem” whose solution is far too simple and has been left neglected for far too long.

Just think of all the American soldiers who are dying on these tar-laced fields for no better reason than pretending America is above buying out Afghani opium production. A FEW BILLION? Are we INSANE yet?!?

      • PS: In many ways, the previous comment was dedicated to you, Richard.

Without even asking, I’m confident that you served America with all your personal might. Isn’t it time to just short-circuit this narcotics bullsh!t and “take it home” for some slightly more reasonable applications … like minimizing the pain that so many vets endure from having given this great nation their best?

        • A family member suffers from excruciating pain and the new specialist said that:” “You shouldn’t take analgesics as often as that”. He then told the doctor a story about a Vietnam veteran who had copped some napalm who was told the same thing about pain, only he had grabbed the Medico’s testicles and squeezing them said:” don’t worry ! It’s only pain and all in your mind”. It worked as now while not pain free is capable of actually living.
I have absolute contempt for those smug bastards who have never really suffered severe pain and then have the nerve to minimize the severity of some one else’s pain. I have seen and heard people saying “kill me!” and others who suicided purely from pain. Certainly some handle it better than others but that is not the point.
Fully back that post HR but no politician has the guts to do it.
          Hardiman for SCOTUS!

          • “I have absolute contempt for those smug bastards who have never really suffered severe pain and then have the nerve to minimize the severity of some one else’s pain”

            Le bingo, dear Michelle.

This disparity between Western medical and psychological problem-solving is a major crime.

            • Just in case I was not entirely clear…

Western “doctors” totally over-medicate their patients. This does not mean that they genuinely manage to resolve patient issues. It merely means feeding the coffers of Big Pharma and 0bamacare.

              • Not all do and those ones risk themselves. Seriously if you have a complaint and they fail to treat it, it is their registration on the line as the ambulance chasers have turned the west into a litigious society while the bureaucratic left have created minefields everywhere. If you whinge they must look and if they find anything they must treat. I have never met anyone who prescribes from the POV of aiding mega Pharma. But I have met many who disagree totally with a lot of the crap put out by such companies. Unfortunately if you do what is right and the official advice differs you are at risk of litigation or worse. As you are not in the front line there I disagree with you as what you are saying is standard and IMO leftist cant.

                • “If you whinge they must look and if they find anything they must treat.”

Sure thing. The only problem is that America’s government strictly limits public access to painkillers. Ergo, whinge all you want but they’ll never up your dose or count.

              • While this would work with some of the Afghan growers part of the crops are planted and own by the Taliban thus buying it would be funding them. Then we have the Mexican cartels with the black tar and the way Hezbollah is taking over the production of Cocaine, Black Tar and Pot in Mexico. And buying up the crop from the Golden Triangle is probably providing funding to Chinese oligarchs.

                Nice idea though.

                • “Nice idea though.”

Thank you, Richard, for the considered reply. I sincerely meant to place (in the public eye) some desperate alternative to the unadulterated insanity currently being passed off as “policy”.

Without some sort of buyout program, there’s just too much capital outflow into illicit hands.

If Afghan poppy farmers don’t sell into the US cartel, we napalm their fields (and homes). [waves at Taliban]

Sell to or deal with the Taliban and say hello to Dow Chemical.

You are too right, Richard, about where the money goes but if we don’t begin to create some serious “choke points” in this black economy it’s all going to come back and bite us rather nastily.

Either America begins to take control of this sh!t or we can watch it get pumped into the lungs and veins of endless future generations.

                  • I agree we have to change tactics and yours will probably do more good then harm. We probably won’t do something this daring for several years, possibly a decade or more.

                    • “I agree we have to change tactics and yours will probably do more good then harm. We probably won’t do something this daring for several years, possibly a decade or more.”

Thank you for your kind language, Richard.

This crap has gotta end, and if America remains inert, we’re all screwed, blued, and tattooed.

          • I’ve lost much respect for doctors. When they don’t want to find the problem, they simply say it’s psychological.

Many years ago, I was in a car accident as a passenger. I saw 28 doctors over a two-year period for one particular painful and debilitating problem. They all said it was psychological.

The 29th doctor knew what my problem was and it was beyond severe. The pressure in my jaw was measured at 5,000 lbs and I weighed 98 lbs because I couldn’t eat. My entire skeleton had deformed.

I have many other examples and I have great contempt for most doctors. Often, what they call ”bush doctors” are more qualified than our GPs.

            • Rare problems are rarely correctly diagnosed and you are indeed lucky that anyone diagnosed it at all. But GP which is so important is dying and with it goes a lot of what you all take for granted as family medicine.
GPs receive 25% of the income that specialist do, they require exactly the same PG time and they work a damn sight longer hours. In the country very few live past 65. The increasing complexity of medicine means that the poor Jack of all trades (GP)really can never be master of any. So the solution of the left? Allow nurses and pharmacists to treat patients (plus witchdoctors eventually) and watch the legal tsunami when they begin to drop. I too am sceptical but I know how hard many of them work.

              • They do work hard, I am lucky to have a VA that is attached to a world class teaching hospital. (although the left is probably ruining that with their politically correct BS that is killing MU) If the primary care people find something they can;t diagnose they call in the big guns.

Now to catch up having spent the entire morning at the VA.

Yes Yucki it was a routine eye check and they are giving me new glasses, photograde glasses and in September they are looking at how bad my cataracts are and when they can be removed.

                • “… I am lucky to have a VA that is attached to a world class teaching hospital.”

That’s so good to know, Richard. I’ve read nearly everything that the superb author, Michael Crichton, ever wrote. Including his account of internship at the Boston General teaching hospital.

Without such learning facilities, our world still would be in the dark ages.

                  • There is a street between them and a tunnel connecting them. Patients are run back and forth all the time.

              • “GPs receive 25% of the income that specialist do, they require exactly the same PG time and they work a damn sight longer hours.”

Thank you, Michelle, for demonstrating such genuine respect for medical General Practitioners. They are, indeed, a truly rare breed and I’ve had the pleasure of knowing one for a while (despite his monster-raving-loony wife).

            • “The 29th doctor knew what my problem was and it was beyond severe. The pressure in my jaw was measured at 5,000 lbs and I weighed 98 lbs because I couldn’t eat. My entire skeleton had deformed.”

Sweet merciful crap! Thank goodness for that 29th doctor, Sassy. Stay strong!

        • Obama Inc. Issued Stand Down Order on Taliban Drug Trade
We do have a pattern of Obama shutting down drug investigations of Islamic terrorists.
          July 9, 2018
          Daniel Greenfield

          brief refresher.

Obama campaigned on pulling out of Iraq and doubling down on Afghanistan. The strategy made absolutely no sense. The pullout from Iraq led to the rise of ISIS. Meanwhile Obama lied about the scale of the Al Qaeda presence in Afghanistan. American soldiers were sent in with their hands tied behind their backs to win the hearts and minds of the Afghans. A failed peace process, via Qatar, was a disaster. And the United States lost far more people in Afghanistan under Obama than under Bush. So Obama went all in on trying to appease the Taliban.

Here’s another snapshot of the most scandal free administration ever.

          • “American soldiers were sent in with their hands tied behind their backs to win the hearts and minds of the Afghans.”

0bama’s “modified” ROE (Rules of Engagement) for American troops in Afghanistan should be enough to see him executed for capital crimes.

Cannot continue firing upon a known hostile and enemy assailant if they drop their weapon?!?

            Insert derisive comments, >here<.

PS: THERE AIN’T NO ISLAMIC “HEARTS AND MINDS” TO WIN. EITHER WE KILL ENOUGH MUSLIMS TO DISCOURAGE JIHAD OR WE DIE.

            Any questions?

  4. Most Swedes Against Islamic Prayer Calls With Few Parties in Favor of Ban (sputniknews, Jul 9, 2018)
    https://sputniknews.com/europe/201807091066178540-sweden-islam-prayer-calls/

“The opposition to Muslim calls to prayer peaks among right-wing Sweden Democrat voters, 96 percent of whom would like to see a prohibition policy in place.

A clear majority, or 61 percent, of Swedes are in favor of a ban on Islamic calls to prayer, a recent survey conducted by pollster Novus on behalf of national broadcaster SVT has shown.

A total of 28 percent of Swedes oppose the idea of a ban, while another 11 percent were either undecided or refused to take a stand on the matter.

Among right-wing Sweden Democrats and center-right opposition Alliance voters, 96 and 62 percent respectively were in favor of the ban. By contrast, voters supporting the current red-green coalition government comprised of the Social Democrats and the Greens were roughly equally divided on the matter.

Despite the fact that a clear majority of Swedes are against Muslim prayer calls, only two parliamentary parties are currently in favor of a ban, the Sweden Democrats (SD) and the Christian Democrats (KD). While the former have been consistent opponents of Islamic prayer calls, having even submitted a motion in favor of the ban in 2017, the latter changed course only recently, with KD leader Ebba Busch-Thor venturing that prayer calls risk “facilitating the cause of those who want to create parallel communities.”

The issue of Islamic prayer calls first became the focus of national attention this spring, when the Växjö mosque received permission to broadcast prayer calls at a maximum of 110 decibels every Friday, sparking a hot debate. While the advocates of the prayer calls say they bolster the stance of Islam as one of Sweden’s religions and promote the acceptance of multiculturalism among the general population, opponents argue they violate the principle of freedom of religion by spreading religious messages against people’s will.

The first prayer call on Swedish soil resonated in April 2013 from the 32 meter tall minaret at Fittja Mosque. In terms of cultural significance, Muslim prayer calls have sometimes been compared with Christian bell-ringing. While Fredrik Modéus, the bishop of Växjö, welcomed the prayer calls, adding that they would promote inclusion and integration, the Sweden Democrats argued that only Christian bell-ringing is part Sweden’s cultural and historical heritage.

The exact number of Muslims in Sweden is debated due to the fact that religious profiling is not allowed in the Scandinavian country, but has been estimated at about 8.1 percent of Sweden’s total population of 10 million by the Pew Research Center.”

  5. Bosnia and Herzegovina: Humanitarian crisis feared as migrants resort to new Balkan route

Fears of an impending humanitarian crisis in Bosnia are rising as the country struggles to cope with the growing influx of migrants trying to make their way into the EU via new Balkan route.

Footage filmed on Sunday shows migrants living in poor conditions in a makeshift camp outside of the city of Velika Kladusa as well as in abandoned buildings in the town of Bihac.

  6. Austria: Five-day border controls launched at border with Germany

Vehicles were seen passing through traffic police inspections near the Austrian town of Kufstein in Tyrol on Monday morning.

Austria is set to conduct inspections at several border crossings with Germany and Italy between July 9 to July 13 and September 17 to September 21.

According to the Austrian interior ministry, the move is not a reaction to the German migrant policy but a long-planned measure, which was reportedly made in coordination with Brussels to ensure security and order during the Austrian presidency of the EU Council.

The respective period of border checks coincides with the meeting of EU interior ministers on July 12 and 13 in Innsbruck and the meeting of EU heads of state and government on September 20 in Salzburg.

    https://sputniknews.com/middleeast/201807091066183920-irgc-commander-anti-israel-remarks/

“The senior Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps commander’s remarks come amid increased tensions between Tehran and Tel Aviv over the situation in Syria.

In a recent speech, IRGC deputy commander Hossein Salami boasted of the creation of an “Islamic army” near the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights, which he warned threatened to “end” Israel.

“Today, an international Islamic army has been formed in Syria, and the voices of the Muslims are heard near the Golan,” Salami said, as quoted by the Times of Israel.

“Orders are awaited, so that…the eradication of the evil [Israeli] regime will land and the life of this regime will be ended for good. The life of the Zionist regime was never in [so much] danger as it is now,” the officer added.

Hey presto! Available oxygen is consumed at rates that create a local near-vacuum. Lungs sucked out of bodies everywhere. Did I mention how fuel-air-bombs are capable of simulating small (fallout-free) atomic explosions?!? Our enemies deserve little better.

Authorities on Monday were investigating a hate crime against a white man in San Francisco after a teenager allegedly beat him with a skateboard and made racial statements.

The incident occurred about 2:30 p.m. Sunday on the 700 block of Market Street, near the intersection of Kearny Street, according to the San Francisco Police Department.

A man, between the age of 17 and 19, struck a 22-year-old white man with a skateboard and made racist comments toward the victim, police said.

  12. Boston weighs giving legal, non-US citizens voting rights
The City Council is considering ways to make city elections more inclusive.

BOSTON (AP) — Non-U.S. citizens living in the country legally may one day be allowed to vote in Boston elections.

The City Council is holding a hearing Tuesday on the idea at the request of Council President Andrea Campbell. The council is considering ways to make city elections more inclusive, including allowing immigrants with legal status in the country the right to vote in municipal races.

That could include legal permanent residents, visa holders and those on Temporary Protected Status or Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals.

Campbell’s order for a hearing says Boston has more than 190,000 foreign-born residents, which represents 28 percent of the city population. It also says non-U.S. citizens paid $116 million in state and local taxes and generated over $3.4 billion in spending according to a 2015 city report.

    • The only time my vote for anything in this state has counted was my vote for PTrump. And he lost my state anyway.
Otherwise, I have a perfect record for losing every legislative initiative, referendum, every candidate.

      • That is why the Dems want the illegals to vote, too many people are leaving them and the can’t stand the idea of Mass. going conservative.

        • They rig the votes anyway. Not a single soul admits to having voted for Mike Dukakis. He was roundly despised, but he still carried the state. With this machine, we don’t need illegals – or stinkin’ elections at all.

What really gets me is the continuing legend of JFK. Even conservatives fawn over his manufactured image. They were all rotters, gangsters. Mueller is just an extension of that corruption.

          • Yes, just ask about Chicago and the teamsters after Joseph went back on his promise to “owe” them. Funny thing was that my father was even sucked into the mass hysteria as many actually ran around like chicken little after the news. Looking back he said that ALL of the media was so anti-Nixon and so pro-Kennedy that it could not have gone otherwise. Even then the MSM bias was marked.

          • Everyone knew the Kennedy’s were crooked but that was ignored by the media because of bias against Nixon. After he was killed the media decided to make a demigod out of him when the odds were that he couldn’t have won re-election. The Conservatives were mad at him for getting us into Nam, the left was mad at him for getting us into Nam. The middle was mad at him for getting us into Nam. He would have lost big time. This makes all of the conspiracy theories about his murder stupid, with the exception that Johnson ordered it so he could be President.

The honest historians are starting to admit that he was a big failure who couldn’t get anything through Congress when his party controlled Congress.

          • A bum from of family of scum.
Ruled us like feudal lords. Liars and cheats. Traitors and murderers.

  13. Inside the creepy and impressive startup funded by the Chinese government that is developing AI that can recognize anyone, anywhere

A computer system that can track and identify any face anywhere may sound like science fiction, but, in China, two such companies are barreling ahead at making such technology an everyday reality.

The two startups, SenseTime and Megvii, are developing competing facial recognition platforms powered by artificial intelligence.

SenseTime became the world’s highest valued AI startup after raising $600 million in April at a valuation of $4.5 billion. The company raised another $620 million last month. Megvii isn’t far behind. It raised $460 million last November. While the valuation hasn’t been disclosed, it’s likely that it is close to or tops $2 billion. Two smaller Chinese companies include Yitu Technology, which raised $380 million last year, and DeepGlint.

The eye-popping valuations shouldn’t be surprising to anyone paying attention. Last year, the Chinese government unveiled a plan to make the country the world leader in AI and to develop an AI industry worth $150 billion by 2030.

    • Unlike usual, I’ll do my best to keep this short and sweet.

It is critical to upgrade the previous legal standard of a, “Right to Privacy” over to a “Right to Anonymity”. We cannot do this soon enough.

Read up on “automatic number plate recognition” (i.e., automotive license plate scanning technology) and get back to me with any questions.

      • I know, when I leave the house I expect to be on camera and when I am on the phone or computer I expect to be heard or read. We have to upgrade the “Right to Privacy”. For that matter we need to see that everyone in the nation knows what the Constitution says and why it was said.

  14. From Kellyanne Conway to Stephen Miller, Trump’s advisers face taunts from hecklers around D.C.

Just after arriving in Washington to work for President Trump, Kellyanne Conway found herself in a downtown supermarket, where a man rushing by with his shopping cart sneered, “You ought to be ashamed of yourself! Go look in the mirror!”

“Mirrors are in aisle 9 — I’ll go get one now,” Conway recalled replying. She brushed off the dart with the swagger of someone raised in the ever-attitudinal trenches of South Jersey. “What am I gonna do? Fall apart in the canned vegetable aisle?”

For any new presidential team, the challenges of adapting to Washington include navigating a capital with its own unceasing rhythms and high-pitched atmospherics, not to mention a maze of madness-inducing traffic circles.

Yet for employees of Donald J. Trump — the most singularly combative president of the modern era, a man who exists in his own tweet-driven ecosystem — the challenges are magnified exponentially, particularly in a predominantly Democratic city where he won only 4 percent of the vote.

  15. MSNBC Does Not Merely Permit Fabrications Against Democratic Party Critics. It Encourages and Rewards Them.

uring the 2016 primary and general election campaigns, various MSNBC hosts were openly campaigning for Hillary Clinton. One of the network’s programs featured Malcolm Nance (pictured above), whose background is quite sketchy but is presented by the cable network (and now by NBC News) as an “intelligence expert” and former intelligence officer for the U.S. Navy.

On August 20, 2016, weekend host Joy Reid asked Nance about the supposed “affinity” for Russia harbored by Jill Stein supporters. In response, Nance told MSNBC viewers: “Jill Stein has a show on Russia Today.” You can still watch the video of this claim here on MSNBC’s own website or see it here:

    https://theintercept.com/2018/07/08/msnbc-does-not-merely-permit-fabrications-against-democratic-party-critics-it-encourages-and-rewards-them/

    • Whatever your views might be about Stein and her third-party candidacy, there is no disputing the fact that Nance’s statement was a falsehood, a fabrication, a lie. Stein did not have a show on RT, nor did she ever host a show on RT. What Nance said was made up out of whole cloth — fabricated — in order to encourage MSNBC viewers to believe that Stein, one of the candidates running against Clinton, was a paid agent of the Kremlin and employee of RT.

Reid allowed Nance’s lie to stand. Perhaps she did not realize at the time that it was a lie. But subsequently, a campaign was launched to urge MSNBC to correct the lie it broadcast, based on the assumption that MSNBC — which is part of NBC News — was a normal news outlet that functions in accordance with basic journalistic principles and would, of course, correct a false statement once that was brought to its attention.

  16. Germany: Author takes Random House to court for scrapping book on Islam

A former politician and author of the book ‘Germany abolishes itself’ arrived in a Munich court, on Monday, for a lawsuit hearing against his publisher ‘Random House,’ which postponed the release of his new book ‘Hostile Takeover: How Islam Hampers Progress and Threatens Society.‘

Sarrazin’s attorney Dr. Andreas Kohler stated that the lawsuit “it is not about money, it’s not about the pecuniary at this point, but it’s about a law being done right here”.

In defense of the publisher’s house, it’s attorney Rainer Dresen said that there were “content concerns about the text,” adding that “Mr. Sarrazin has requested a released date, which was not provided in the contract”.

Reportedly, Sarrazin’s book will still be published at the end of summer by another publisher, Finanzbuch Verlag.

  17. Russia Building Up Military Sites on Poland’s Border Before Trump-Putin Meeting

Satellite photos show new structures and other bunker improvements in the Baltic Sea exclave of Kaliningrad made in the run-up to the NATO summit.

As President Donald Trump prepares to meet with NATO leaders and Russian President Vladimir Putin, Moscow has been improving its westernmost military facilities. Between March and June, Russia made several improvements to a munitions storage site in its Baltic Sea exclave of Kaliningrad, satellite photos show.

An 86-square-mile piece of territory between Poland and Latvia, the exclave was an important outpost for the Soviet Union. Now it is springing back to life as part of a Russian military buildup that has been accelerating since 2015.

The photos, by satellite imaging company Planet Labs, show changes around a kind of bunker facility in Baltiysk, near the Polish border. (Note: Planet Labs provides limited amounts of imagery to Defense One.) Such facilities are often used to house artillery, according to Matt Hall, a senior geospatial analyst at 3GIMBALS, a firm that provides human-machine integrated location-based analytics.

  18. Radioactive material stolen from vehicle in Mexico City

MEXICO CITY (AP) — Mexican authorities say they are searching for radioactive material that was stolen from a vehicle in a southwestern borough of the capital.

A joint statement from Mexico City and federal agencies says the container was taken from a vehicle belonging to a local radiography supplier in the Alvaro Obregon district on Friday.

It contains Iridium-192, a radioactive isotope used in construction and manufacturing. The statement late Sunday said the material can be dangerous if extracted and not handled properly. Anyone who comes in contact for a prolonged period risks permanent injury.

Authorities warned people not to go near the container and establish a safety perimeter of at least 100 feet (30 meters) if it is found.

  19. Record Temperature Readings Throughout Los Angeles Caused By ‘Faulty Weather Stations,’ Meteorologist Says

Nearly every record-high temperature reported over the last few days in the Los Angeles area are from weather stations “compromised by heat sources and heat sinks,” according to a veteran meteorologist.

“In my opinion, the data from these stations is worthless,” California-based meteorologist Anthony Watts wrote on his blog Watts Up With That.

That’s not to say Los Angeles wasn’t scorching hot. Temperatures in much of greater Los Angeles were in the triple digits, according to the National Weather Service.

On the contrary, what Watts claims is that artificial heat sources and sinks produce localized heat around weather stations, adding the few degrees necessary to qualify as records. In general, cities are warmer than surrounding countryside owing to the urban heat island effect.

  20. From FBI memos: Reporters gave FBI security code for Manafort storage facility
    By J.E. Dyer July 9, 2018

In Paul Manafort’s trial in the Eastern District of Virginia, his lawyers filed a request on Friday for a hearing on the April 2017 meeting between the FBI and Associated Press reporters, in which the Manafort team thinks there may have been an inappropriate exchange of information.

Josh Gerstein wrote it up on 8 July for Politico. As discussed previously, the real significance of the 11 April 2017 meeting appears to be that AP reporters effectively provided the FBI with quite a bit of information about Manafort, by “asking questions” about the information. The first testimony in the Manafort trial was from Special Agent Jeff Pfeiffer, who was present at the meeting and wrote up an internal memo on it afterward. That memo, among other documents, was made available to the Manafort defense, apparently in disclosure, and just as Pfeiffer was testifying in court the week before last.

Another Special Agent, Karen Greenaway, also wrote a memo on the meeting. Both memos are cited in the Manafort defense’s request for a hearing on their concerns about the meeting.

DOJ official Andrew Weissman arranged the meeting – reportedly going around official channels to do it, to the FBI hierarchy’s chagrin – and was present at it. The meeting was held at DOJ headquarters

  21. Former Clinton adviser doxes bookstore as payback for not letting customer harass Steve Bannon

Former Hillary Clinton adviser Philippe Reines on Saturday posted the address and contact information of a Virginia bookstore on Twitter after the storeowner called the police on a customer who insisted on harassing former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon.

Richmond, Va. bookstore owner Nick Cooke called the police on Saturday after a woman verbally accosted Bannon and then refused to leave the store, Cooke said. The woman reportedly called Bannon a “piece of trash” before Cooke asked her to leave. (RELATED: New Normal: Trump Allies Face Harassment, Protests Anywhere They Show Their Faces)

“Steve Bannon was simply standing, looking at books, minding his own business. I asked her to leave, and she wouldn’t. And I said, ‘I’m going to call the police if you don’t,’ and I went to call the police and she left. And that’s the end of the story.” Cooke told the Richmond Dispatch.

Reines responded by tweeting out the address, phone number, and email address for Cooke’s Store, Black Swan Books.

Good morning America. You are now entering Wisconsin, circa 2011.

“What happened in Wisconsin … is being writ large across the country,” state Sen. Tom Tiffany, R-Hazelhurst, said last year following an anti-Trump Women’s March on Madison, complete with “F— Trump” signs and pink “pussyhat” clad protesters.

There have been at least 246 homicides…

(Madeline Buckley, Chicago Tribune) Four men were killed and 23 people were wounded by gunfire in Chicago over the weekend as the number of people shot in the city this year surpassed 1,400.

The shootings stretched across Chicago, from Wicker Park to the Southeast Side between Friday afternoon and Monday morning.

So far this year, at least 1,433 people have been shot in the city, and there have been at least 246 homicides, according to data kept by the Tribune.

Shootings and homicides remain down from 2016 and 2017, years of record-breaking violence, but are higher than other recent years.

This time last year, at least 1,945 people had been shot; this time in 2012, 1,334.

One of the weekend homicides happened just before 12:20 p.m. Sunday in the 5500 block of West Haddon Avenue in the West Side’s South Austin neighborhood.

  24. Illegal Released by Sanctuary City Gets $280 Fine for Killing Two Cops

Roberto Garza Palacios will receive no jail time and did not even have to appear in court for fatal accident…

An illegal alien who was released by a sanctuary city has received a small $280 fine after causing a car crash that left two law enforcement officers dead.

Roberto Garza Palacios, a 28-year-old illegal alien from Guatemala, was given a slap on the wrist after he caused a car crash in December 2017 that immediately killed 33-year-old Sander Cohen, the Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office deputy chief, and later left FBI agent Carlos Wolff, 36-years-old, dead at a nearby hospital.

Garza Palacios received a $280 fine for the deadly car crash, with prosecutors saying that the illegal alien’s killing of Cohen and Wolff did not constitute a “reckless disregard” for life, according to court records obtained by the Washington Post.

On the night that the illegal alien killed the two law enforcement officers, Wolff was on Interstate 270 after crashing his car on the median.

Cohen pulled over with his hazard lights to help Wolff.

And for the second time, an Oregon judge agreed to veer from state sentencing recommendations and give Rhodes five years of probation.

Multnomah County Circuit Judge Jerry Hodson on Monday said he wouldnt send Rhodes to prison for two to 2 12 years because he believes Rhodes earnestly is trying to change despite the prosecution’s arguments to the contrary.

  26. More Democrats Believe in UFOs Than America
Lose faith in your country and you lose your mind.
    July 9, 2018
    Daniel Greenfield

58% of Democrats believe in UFOs, but only 32% are proud to be American. Only 37% of Republicans believe in flying saucers, but a full 80% are proud of their country.

Almost twice as many Democrats are willing to believe in being abducted by space aliens than in their country. Hillary Clinton had promised that if elected, she would find out the truth about the little green men and suggested that the planet had already been visited by aliens.

“Maybe we could have, like, a task force to go to Area 51,” she suggested.

The chair of Hillary Clinton’s campaign, John Podesta, an obsessive UFO buff, appeared on an episode of Ancient Aliens which claimed that Hillary Clinton was defeated to suppress the truth about space aliens.

Like Podesta, the Democrat (space rather than illegal) alien obsession dates back to Bill’s era. When Bill Clinton appointed Webster Hubbell as his Associate Attorney General, he gave him two priorities.

“If I put you over at Justice I want you to find the answers to two questions for me,” Hubbell recalled. “One, who killed JFK. And two, are there UFOs.”

    https://www.frontpagemag.com/fpm/270669/more-democrats-believe-ufos-america-daniel-greenfield

    • How many Christians are into UFOs?
I’ve never had a conversation about them with practicing Jews or Christian believers. Or anybody else, for that matter.

      “My fellow Americans…?”
      Who are these people?

      • Some of them are nuts, some of them are trying to get their 15 minutes of fame and a lot of them are pilots who saw things in the sky they can’t identify that were doing things the pilots say our current aircraft can’t.

      • If you decide to dig into the issue remember 95% to 99.9% of all of the information is BS and the rest is at times unbelievable. I will say that I don’t believe in UFO’s but I don’t disbelieve in them either.

        • Yes I am open there as well. There just has to be life out there. But I strongly doubt that it will be as friendly as the morons like Sagan think. High technology does not mean upholding Judaeo-Christian morality. Anyway they may well see us as cockroaches or crop weevils(The Genocide…cannot remember the author and yes I still have it …but where?)

          • Any intelligent life would be the top predator of their planet, that means that they would not be the kind gentle galactic wizards out to help us. They might or might not want to take over the solar system to get the mineral resources but helping us would be done by 1) galactic dogooders or 2) some race that sees a political or economic advantage to helping us.

      • When I was a child just about everyone believed that UFOs were craft from outer space, I remember a lot of very intelligent people who flew air planes in WWII who thought that, this is why I don’t disbelieve in them. I just haven’t seen enough evidence that they really exist to believe in them.

  27. Trump Blamed for Death of Reporters: Did Media Blame Obama for Cop Killers?
    A curious double standard.
    July 9, 2018
    Larry Elder

A man with a long-standing beef against the Annapolis, Maryland, newspaper Capital Gazette entered the paper’s headquarters with a shotgun and murdered five staffers. It represents the deadliest attack on U.S. reporters in modern history.

Before learning about the suspect’s mental issues and his long-standing feud with the newspaper, some in the media blamed President Donald Trump. After all, critics said, Trump routinely denounces “fake news” as an existential threat to our republic. Connect the dots, they said. Blame Trump! CNN aired a montage of Trump’s attacks on the media. Rob Cox, a Reuters editor, tweeted: “This is what happens when @RealDonaldTrump calls journalists the enemy of the people. Blood is on your hands, Mr. President.” Another reporter, who later resigned, even falsely tweeted that the shooter was wearing a MAGA cap. How do you get that wrong?

How dare the President call out the anti-Republican media for its decades of biased reporting? Pew Research, in 2013, found that only 7 percent of reporters called themselves Republican. How dare Trump attack The New York Times, which has not endorsed a Republican presidential candidate since 1956? How dare Trump go after The Washington Post, which has never endorsed a Republican presidential candidate. And how dare Trump refer to CNN — one of whose “news” anchors, Don Lemon, has called Trump “a racist” — as fake news.

Did the media hold President Barack Obama responsible for the murders of 10 cops in Dallas, Baton Rouge and New York City, all at the hands of black men apparently incited by their belief that cops murder blacks without consequence? After all, Obama frequently criticized the police and bemoaned America’s racism as “part of our DNA.”

‘Lesbian Activists’ Stall London Pride Parade To Protest Against Transgenders
“A man who says he’s a lesbian is a rapist.”

In a bizarre scene Saturday, a group of “lesbian activists” disrupted and stalled the London Pride Parade, in what they called a protest against the event’s inclusion of transgender individuals.

“A group of eight women stormed the parade route,” reported Gay Star News, and unfurled banners reading “Transactivism erases lesbians,” and “Lesbian = Female Homosexual.”

Local media reported that the protesters stalled the parade for around ten minutes, and as they were carted off, one could be heard screaming that, “A man who says he’s a lesbian is a rapist” — an apparent reference to male-to-female transgender individuals.

  30. James Woods and Don Jr. React to Rumors of a Hillary Clinton 2020 Presidential Bid

On Sunday, the Drudge Report ran a curious headline banner with a photo of twice-failed presidential hopeful, Hillary Clinton, “ONE LAST RUN?!”

“Hillary Clinton is up to something,” Goodwin writes.

Goodwin argues some of Clinton’s actions, such as fundraising with urgency, calling for protests, touting her PAC, ‘Onward Together’ to fight Trump’s policies and next SCOTUS pick suggest she may be gearing up for a 2020 run against Trump.

    • All of us only can hope that the Democrats attempt to run Hillary another time.

There is little more that could cement Trump’s reelection.

      • Given the amount of dirt the Clintons have on Dem politicians if she wants to run they will once again fix the primaries for her.

  31. UK Parliament: Little Interest in Grooming Gangs

    by Andrew Jones
    July 9, 2018 at 6:00 am

    https://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/12662/britain-parliament-grooming-gangs

In response to Britain’s ongoing sexual grooming scandal, a group of 20 MPs signed an open letter to recently appointed Home Secretary, Sajid Javid, urging coordinated action.

As the UK Parliament has 650 MPs, the 20 signatories constitute a mere 3% willing to support the protection of children subjected to gang-rape, trafficking and torture, and at times murder. Such a paltry number of politicians willing to speak out against child sexual slavery seems yet more evidence of the moral bankruptcy of Britain’s political elite and how low the country appears to have sunk.

Britain’s media elite have ignored the letter. Reporting has been limited to the local press in Oxford and Rochdale — areas afflicted by grooming — as well as a few alternative media outlets such as Breitbart London, and indirect reference on Sky News.

P’raps these 650 toffs might benefit from an up-close and personal demonstration of what these helpless young (WHITE) girls endured.

      • I think that some of them (not many mind you) are well aware of what they have suffered. All part of the elite putting the white trash back in their place, I would be hanging not a few of them.

Islamic cannibalism … what’s not to like?!?

      • Umm the fact that they are holding back 700,000 illegals might be relevant here.

        • Yup, right now any action in North Africa is probably going to end up bad for Europe.

  33. WATCH: Iranian Women Share Dancing Videos to Support Jailed Instagram Star (sputniknews, Jul 9, 2018)
    https://sputniknews.com/viral/201807091066209104-iranian-women-fancing-videos-jailed-instagram-star/

“Iranian women are sharing videos of themselves dancing on social media after an Iranian teenager was arrested last week for uploading videos of herself dancing on Instagram.

Maedeh Hojabri, an 18-year-old Instagram star in Iran who has almost 70,000 followers, was detained last week after she shared videos of herself dancing on the social media platform. In many of the videos, she was not wearing a hijab, which women in Iran are required to wear in public…”

  34. Iranian woman who protested headscarf gets 20-year sentence (abcnews, Jul 9, 2018)
    https://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/iranian-woman-protested-headscarf-20-year-sentence-56464404

“An Iranian woman who removed her obligatory Islamic headscarf out of protest in December says she has been sentenced to 20 years in prison.

Shapark Shajarizadeh posted on her personal website that she had been jailed for “opposing the compulsory hijab” and “waving a white flag of peace in the street.”

There was no immediate comment from Iranian officials.

Police in Iran arrested 29 people in February for removing their headscarves as part of a campaign known as “White Wednesdays.” Nasrin Sotoudeh, a prominent human rights lawyer who represented Shajarizadeh and other women, was arrested last month.

Shajarizadeh, 42, was released on bail in late April. Her current whereabouts were unknown.

In Iran, women showing their hair in public face penalties ranging from a $25 fine to prison time.”

Just another damned fine reason why Iran shouldn’t be around two decades from now.

“French President Emmanuel Macron said Monday that the battle between nationalists and progressives will be at the heart of European Union parliamentary elections next year, a “turning point” that will define the Europe of the future.

Macron made the assessment of what he said was Europe’s real crisis during a 90-minute speech before some 900 French lawmakers convened at the Palace of Versailles to hear France’s leader outline his vision for the next four years…”

  36. Nigeria military hands 180 child soldiers to UN, government (abcnews, Jul 9, 2018)
    https://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/nigeria-military-hands-180-child-soldiers-government-56458751

“Nigeria’s military command says it has handed to the government and the United Nations more than 180 former child soldiers who had been arrested or rescued in various military operations in Nigeria’s northeast.

Commander Nicholas Rogers said Monday during the handover ceremony in Maiduguri that the children were former Boko Haram fighters being turned over in line with international humanitarian laws. He said many children coerced into using weapons against the state were killed in fighting between Boko Haram and government forces.

The U.N. Children’s Agency says the children’s release comes after they were cleared of ties to Boko Haram. It said eight girls and 175 boys will receive medical attention and psychosocial support before reuniting them with their families. The children range in age from seven to 18 years.”

    • I have no sympathy for children who carry and use weapons. In my world they are combatants.

      • If they are armed and pointing a weapon at you they are armed combatants no matter what their age, their weapon is full grown and doesn’t care about the users age. A lot of libs think this is a terrible attitude to take.

  37. Spanish court jails Dane for fighting in Syria for IS (abcnews, Jul 9, 2018)
    https://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/spanish-court-jails-dane-fighting-syria-56456799

“Spain’s National Court has convicted a Danish man of being a foreign fighter with the Islamic State group in Syria and sentenced him to eight years in prison.

The court said in its verdict published Monday that Ahmed Samsam was also found guilty of financing terrorism, obtaining firearms in Spain and promoting jihad on social media.

The court said the 29-year-old, who was born in Syria and acquired Danish citizenship, traveled to Syria each year in 2012, 2013 and 2014. He took part in some major battles there, including the August 2014 fight for Raqqa airport.

Samsam was arrested in the southern Spanish city of Malaga a year ago.

Since 2015, Spain’s security services have arrested more than 200 people suspected of belonging to or aiding Islamic extremist groups.”

  39. Turkey’s Erdogan appoints son-in-law as finance minister (BBC, Jul 9, 2018)
    https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-44774316

“Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has named his son-in-law as the country’s finance minister after being sworn in to another five-year term.

The appointment of Berat Albayrak, who had served as energy minister since 2015, appeared to rattle the markets.

Mr Erdogan, who was re-elected last month, vowed to “propel our country forward” with his sweeping new powers.

But his opponents fear that his new role as executive president will destroy Turkish democracy.

Mr Erdogan’s new position marks a transition away from a parliamentary system and the office of prime minister, which has been in place since the foundation of the modern Turkish republic 95 years ago.

It allows him to appoint ministers and vice-presidents and intervene in the legal system…”
