  1. RealClear Investigations Two Colleagues Contradict Brennan’s Denial of Reliance on Dossier

Former CIA Director John Brennan’s insistence that the salacious and unverified Steele dossier was not part of the official Intelligence Community Assessment on Russian interference in the 2016 election is being contradicted by two top former officials.

  2. TRT – Mosque in Hebrides: Scotland’s Quter Hebrides opens first mosque

The first mosque ever to be built in a remote part of Scotland has opened just in time for Ramadan. A derelict building on the Isle of Lewis has been converted following a crowdfunding campaign that raised more 130-thousand dollars. TRT World’s Sarah Morice was there to see it.

    • A derelict building…

Harrumph and pshaw! Looks like a church to me!

Then again, what matters the truth these days?

  3. NR: This article is slightly stale but the ideas are still quite fresh.

How a 22-Year-Old Discovered the Worst Chip Flaws in History
    (Scroll down for excerpt)

NR: In the industry, this sort of work is frequently referred to as reverse engineering. Although this particular case does not exactly fit that mold, Jaan Horn’s meticulous performance analysis of Intel’s CPU represents the workings of a brilliant, deductive mind. My only (dire) trepidations reside in the fact that Google–Alphabet has this genius within their clammy grasp.

Incidentally, it’s this sort of computational “parsley-on-the-plate” that mass media loves to bruit about as “Artificial Intelligence”. While not even a genuine Expert System of any sort (normally, they are massive terabyte or petabyte software constructs that could never fit upon a single device), the use of speculative execution by microprocessors is merely a preprogrammed, classic stimulus–response process and not any sort of valid “decision-making” process that could actually stampede people about legitimate AI concerns. Stampeded we are, nonetheless.

The following few paragraphs are well worth reading (as is the entire linked article). Written in layman’s terms, they detail both the landscape of technology itself and a modern mind that could (hopefully) shape our world in positive ways. Too few readers will properly infer that, just maybe, technology might, literally, be “overdriving” its headlights. I refer any doubters to the Social Media Plague™ (you saw it here first).

To clarify, real progress (screw all that “Progressive” socio-political bull hockey) will come from such capable individuals. Let all of us do our best to ensure that these geniuses work towards the profitable betterment of humanity and not further inflating Google–Alphabet’s wallet.

    Key Excerpt:

So he started looking closely at how chips handle speculative execution — a speed-enhancing technique where the processor tries to guess what part of code it will be required to execute next and starts performing those steps ahead of time — and fetching the required data. Horn said the manuals stated that if the processor guessed wrong, the data from those misguided forays would still be stored in the chip’s memory. Horn realized that, once there, the information might be exposed by a clever hacker.

“At this point, I realized that the code pattern we were working on might potentially leak secret data,” Horn said in emailed responses to Bloomberg questions. “I then realized that this could — at least in theory — affect more than just the code snippet we were working on.”

That started what he called a “gradual process” of further investigation that led to the vulnerabilities. Horn said he was aware of other research, including from Gruss and the team at Graz, on how tiny differences in the time it takes a processor to retrieve information could let attackers learn where information is stored.

Horn discussed this with another young researcher at Google in Zurich, Felix Wilhelm, who pointed Horn to similar research he and others had done. This led Horn to what he called “a big aha moment.” The techniques Wilhelm and others were testing could be “inverted” to force the processor to run new speculative executions that it wouldn’t ordinarily try. This would trick the chip into retrieving specific data that could be accessed by hackers.

… the processor tries to guess what part of code it will be required to execute next…

This is the sort of horse puckey that I’m talking about. The CPU is not making any sort of “guess” (which is a highly anthropomorphized term to start with). When engaged in speculative execution a microprocessor is mandatorily referencing a preprogrammed weighting table that instructs it to specifically pursue certain active code threads and the data retrievals related to them—solely derived from previous demands upon processor time and time-to-completion. That’s it. No lurking, encoded solid state agency in the background hidden away in some concealed software cache.

In fact, it’s by this path that the MSM willfully fuels public fear and misunderstanding of computers, much less the entire cybersphere. Consider this, when operating an ordinary ATM, how many people actually think that they are “programming” the computer controlling that machine? Answer: Far too many.

The MSM continues to entrench this paranoia—unlike Stephen Hawking’s earnest and schooled plea to be circumspect about AI—all in the name of rendering everyday consumers even more vulnerable to control and manipulation.

That Jaan Horn teased out this latency issue (i.e., how long certain operations took) and then correlated it to potentially intrusive manipulation of the CPU—especially in order to speculatively retrieve irrelevant but sensitive data—is worth a million Euro bonus (which I’m confident that he’ll never receive).

        • Looks like something Uncle Vlad would get a kick out of too~

The sketch is an all-time classic. A reporter was interviewing Michael Palin and asked, “Is Monty Python highbrow humor?”

With supreme British understatement (and not even an intervening blink), Palin immediately retorted, “Well, you’ve got to have read a few books.”

One may as well call the ocean, “rather damp”.

  4. BTW rather than constantly reiterating recent posts/articles about communism in the USA, instead, just read Diana West’s book “American Betrayal” and see how Obama/Clinton were just following another POTUS footsteps down a well worn slippery slope.

    • Yes seconded. Diana herself read the audiobook version available from Audible which I have been listening through. But it is depressing. It will reshape your understanding of 20th century European and American politics however but its better to know the truth, as uncomfortable as it is, than live a fiction in most cases.

Her book settled a difficult disagreement I had with one of our valued translators about Churchill and his role in failing Eastern Europe after the war with the Nazis. Surprise surprise, it was actually the US government that funded the commies and facilitated the commie rape of Eastern and Central Europe.

How depressing that was for me an Ameriphile to the core. However my reverence for Churchill remained safe.

Postscript: The translation for the second part of the Israeli documentary is in. I hope to have it posted by midnight ET but its a huge job. If you see it, please make time for it.
If you agree with the translator, that it is in fact, the single most important document for the US since the discovery of the MB documents in a sub basement in the US which resulted in the Holy Land Foundation trials, please find a way to spread it both upwards, to those you know with any influence, and outwards. to those you know you feel are capable of getting it but might not fully get it yet.

It should be quite the thing to see if the translator is to be heard. And she hasn’t been wrong yet.

      • Surprise surprise, it was actually the US government that funded the commies and facilitated the commie rape of Eastern and Central Europe.

It is to the eternal shame of our nation that America so clumsily handled its role in the “Great Game”, that took place at Yalta (and elsewhere) during WWII.

Stalin and Churchill made even a supposedly smooth political operator like Roosevelt look like a turnip truck rube. The cruel sacrifice of Eastern and Central Europe to life behind the Iron Curtain was cold consolation for having saved Western Europe, only to see it implement a new brand of Ferrous Interior Drapery™.

        • Thank you, dear yucki. The abject hypocrisy of Social Media is a mask that must be ripped from the face of High Tech™.

SIDEBAR: This is really traumatic for me. After spending decades in the semiconductor and solid-state process equipment industry, it is a grueling personal turn-up for the books to admit that these tech (teched?) titans are making such a dog’s breakfast of the Free Market, Wild West, Pro-Capitalist ethos that once (somewhat equitably) permeated Silicon Valley.

          • What was omitted in my reply is the yuge distinction that there is to be made within and among sectors of High Tech™.

There is a world galaxy of difference between semiconductor fabrication of electrical devices and the coding applications that are created to run upon those same integrated circuits.

Google and Facebook are the ones who program these insanely powerful silicon devices to perform such incredible feats of computation (and ridiculously intrusive levels of surveillance).

To blame Intel, TSMC, Micron or Sony for having facilitated the microprocessed ills of Social Media is like blaming Smith & Wesson for other companies producing anti-body-armor piercing rounds.

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5733929/Police-abandoning-inquiries-thousands-crimes-without-sending-officer-out.html

“Police are abandoning inquiries into thousands of crimes without sending an officer to see the victim.

Chief constables are setting up ‘phone investigation’ teams that screen out hundreds of reported offences a day before they reach detectives.

One force aims to close down more than half the calls it receives reporting crimes.

The BBC’s Panorama found a rise in the number of forces carrying out phone investigations.

It typically involves a call handler recording details and making enquiries without sending an officer out. They are often civilians with as little as a week’s police training, Panorama found.

Working from a checklist, they decide whether a case can be ‘finalised’ – closed – as it is deemed unsolvable or not worth pursuing, for instance if there are no clues or the victims cannot provide any evidence or name a suspect.

West Yorkshire Police’s ‘crime management unit’ is expected to deal with 870 offences a day. Mark McManus, head of the unit, told reporters it aimed to ‘finalise’ around 50 per cent of crimes after a primary investigation. Dee Collins, the force’s chief constable, blamed a lack of resources for the decision to set up the unit, adding: ‘I wouldn’t say we’re dumping crimes … I would say that’s having to make a pragmatic decision.’

She admitted the force was ‘letting some people down’ but claimed a 35 per cent real-term funding cut had meant a reduction of 1,400 staff. ‘There are occasions where actually it can feel incredibly stretched,’ she added…”

    • One force aims to close down more than half the calls it receives reporting crimes.

Talk about job security! Hell, turn away “more than half” of incoming crime reports, then just sit back and wait for the aftershock of that malfeasance to rebound throughout the community. What could possibly go wrong?!?

  7. Time to step up? Irish sound off on request to host refugees amid severe housing crisis (RT, May 16, 2018)
    https://www.rt.com/news/426832-ireland-housing-crisis-refugees/

“The Irish Red Cross have asked citizens to “put empty space to better use” and house refugees from the Middle East who the government offered asylum to in the middle of a national housing crisis. But are the Irish prepared?

The national campaign is asking Irish homeowners to “pledge a room or a vacant property for a Syrian refugee today” in an effort to house some of the more than 1,800 refugees who have arrived from predominantly Syria, but also Iraq and Libya.

Despite the country’s current housing crisis which has been described as “serious national challenge and threat” to the economy, the charity is asking people with vacant properties or bedrooms to consider offering it to a refugee family for a minimum year-long contract.

RT spoke to people in Dublin who seemed open to the idea, however most were unable to offer such accommodation in a city that is already succumbing to soaring rent prices and struggling to house a growing homeless population…”

Pugnacious Irishmen in close quarters with the usual intolerant Muslim suspects?

This has got, “Happy Ending”, written all over it. Eh?

The mind boggles to think of what would happen if there was any attempt to establish a no-go zone within Dublin. I sincerely believe that a band (or ten) of “good lads” might find reason for a donnybrook (or twenty) until the goodly “immigrants” learned to sit down and STFU.

While all of this remains to be seen, I’m willing to place my bet on the side of Irish yoots knowing what is the right thing to do.

      • The problem I see is the pervasive, vicious Left.

Western fascination with The Tard hangs on hatred of the U.S. (and friends/allies) and immortal jew-hate. The latter is fierce in Ireland – not only in Northern Ireland, where it’s as close to Nazi-explicit as in Greece.

The Left in Ireland sounds a lot like Corbyn spit in the UK. Maybe they will split the Tard off the Red-Green alliance. Good luck with that! The Left tends to become the submissive partner in those relationships.

    https://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/960461/isis-news-turkey-theresa-may-erdogan-visit

“BRITISH jihadists captured by Turkish authorities will be returned to the UK along with any evidence so they can be prosecuted.

Theresa May and Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced they had reached an agreement to bring Britons that join ISIS to justice, following talks at Downing Street.

Turkey will return the suspects to the UK along with mobile phones, any media they have in their possession and all transcripts with interviews, the two leaders announced during a joint press conference.

Previously ministers advocated Britons who join ISIS deserve to be killed, but Mrs May’s move appears to represent a shift in the Government’s approach.

Defence Secretary Gavin Williamson said the two captured members of the “Beatles” group should never set foot in the UK “ever again”.

This change in tune comes as Mrs May is under pressure by the US and its allies to take more responsibility for those who leave the UK to try and join ISIS…”

  10. Syrian Militant Reveals How US Weapons Made Their Way to Al-Qaeda (sputniknews, May 16, 2018)
    https://sputniknews.com/middleeast/201805161064498100-syrian-terrorists-us-weapons/

“A member of a Syrian anti-government militant group and former participant of a clandestine US effort to arm rebels in Syria has revealed how weapons supplied by the United States to the so called “moderate opposition” forces were handed over to a local branch of al-Qaeda.

“I communicated with al-Qaeda’s branch, al-Nusra*, to protect and safely escort me and my soldiers for two hours from North Aleppo to West Aleppo. In exchange, I gave them five pickup trucks and ammunition,” Free Syrian Army commander Anas Ibrahim Obaid, also known as Abu Zayd, told Fox News.

According to Zayd, he was the head of a militant group that was trained and armed by the United States in Turkey in 2015 and then deployed to Syria.

Initially his US handlers wanted to send Zayd and his men into Syria unarmed, promising to provide them with weapons on site, as the previous group of some 54 militants had been intercepted by al-Nusra terrorists shortly after entering Syrian territory and robbed of all its US-issued weapons.

After Zayd’s militants managed to persuade their US handlers to arm them, they were then stopped by Turkish border guards who found that the group was carrying Syrian flags instead of rebel flags.

The US handlers took responsibility for the “flag mistake” and the group eventually managed to cross into Syria, but the emerging morale problems caused many members to defect, leaving Zayd with only 25 militants instead of the initial 72.

This development prompted Zayd to decide to cut his ties with the program and return to his hometown in western Aleppo, and as he had to cross through al-Nusra-controlled territory, he opted to parlay with the terrorist group and give them weapons in exchange for safe passage.

“The Americans were so angry when they found out, they cut my salary. But this was our only option through their territory to get home without getting killed,” Zayd said.
He also added that the Pentagon shut down the whole program about a month after that deal, adding however that “the Americans… can’t get their weapons back.”

Fox News also reports, citing its sources that Zayd still controls a sizeable cache of “American-funded” weapons which “routinely surface on the black market, and constitute something of a lucrative business.”

From 2013 to mid-2017, the US supplied weapons and training to Syrian rebel groups via the covert CIA program “Timber Sycamore.” US President Donald Trump announced the end of the program in July.

In 2015, the US admitted that a large proportion of the weaponry originally intended for the “moderate” rebels eventually found its way into the hands of terrorist groups.”

  11. Merkel: No Solution to Syrian Conflict Without Russia, Turkey, Iran, Europe (sputniknews, May 16, 2018)
    https://sputniknews.com/world/201805161064499045-russia-merkel-syrian-conflict/

“The conflict in Syria has taken an enormous scale and cannot be settled without the participation of Russia, Turkey, Iran, Europe and other regional powers, German Chancellor Angela Merkel said Wednesday.

“The civil war in Syria and the fight against Islamic terrorism have escalated into a regional conflict of an enormous scale, which cannot be resolved without Russia, Turkey, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and, I would say, Europe,” Merkel said in the Bundestag.

The Iranian nuclear agreement is not ideal, but it is wrong to abandon the deal now, German Chancellor Angela Merkel said.

“This agreement is anything but perfect, but Iran complies, according to the IAEA, with its obligations under this deal. This accord was unanimously approved by the UN Security Council, and therefore we — the UK, France, and Germany — as well as other EU members along with us, believe that it is wrong to cancel this agreement in this situation,” Merkel said during her speech in the German parliament….”

  12. YouTube Deletes Alternative for Sweden’s Video, Threatens to Take Down Account (sputniknews, May 16, 2018)
    https://sputniknews.com/europe/201805161064498776-sweden-alternative-youtube/

“A recent video by the fledgling right-wing party Alternative for Sweden with its leader Gustav Kasselstrand voicing plans to expel thousands of Islamists residing in Sweden, has been removed from YouTube. The video-sharing giant accused the party of “inciting hatred” and threatened to remove their account altogether.

The contentious video was published on Monday evening as a response from Alternative for Sweden (AfS) to the weekend’s terrorist attack in Paris, which left one person dead and several injured. In a matter of several hours, the video had garnered several thousand views, amassing many likes.

In the video, Gustav Kasselstrand argued that this was a “minor” attack by the standards of today’s Europe, suggesting that the majority of politicians and journalists had already forgotten about it. He also proposed revoking the citizenship of Islamists residing in Sweden. According to the Security Police SÄPO, cited by Kasselstrand, the number of Islamist extremists has exploded from several hundred to approximately 2,000.

Later, the video was taken down by YouTube for alleged “incitement of hatred.” YouTube also threatened to delete Alternative for Sweden’s account.

?”I see YouTube’s censorship and allegations as a stamp of approval of my message. Nevertheless, it remains problematic that as a leader of Sweden’s fastest-growing party I cannot convey my views on social media,” Gustav Kasselstrand responded in a statement.

This is not the first time the AfS has clashed with a company over censorship issues. Previously, Kasselstrand’s podcast Den kokta grodan (“The cooked frog”) was removed from SoundCloud on what he claimed to be “arbitrary grounds.”

According to Kasselstrand, AfS is today the only Swedish party that sees the increasing censorship as a major problem in a time when all other parliamentary parties speak out for censorship and prohibition. He went so far as to call hate speech laws “nothing but a crime of opinion” and advocated their removal. Kasselstrand also ventured that the monopoly of social media giants is tantamount to control over freedom of expression, comparing social media with forums of the ancient world.

“Once you are refused the right to appear on social media, there are no comparable options. We need a freedom of speech law on the Internet to prevent social media companies from shutting down user accounts for their views,” Kasselstrand argued.

The crackdown on AfS comes after the Löfven government threatened Google and YouTube with consequences if they failed to erase “hate speech” within 24 hours earlier this spring.

At the time of writing, the video was still available on Twitter.

Alternative for Sweden was launched in March 2018 by breakaway members of the right-wing Sweden Democrats. Over just a few months, it’s gained thousands of new members and is now the third most popular Swedish party on Facebook, after the Sweden Democrats and the Conservatives. Alternative for Sweden models itself as a “repatriation party” advocating mass deportations and “Swexit,” that is a departure from the EU.”

    https://sputniknews.com/europe/201805161064497120-sweden-female-genital-mutilation/

“With as many as 150,000 victims of female genital mutilation residing in the Scandinavian country that consistently ranks at the top of various equality ratings, Swedish Social Democrat Gursimer Singh has advocated rigorous measures to stop this illegal and immensely painful procedure from happening.

During the summer vacation, many girls with roots in other countries are likely to be sent “home” by their parents. Once there, they are likely to be subjected to so-called virginity checks or female genital mutilation (FGM) in an attempt to prevent premarital sex and retain their “honor,” Social Democrat and women’s and children’s rights activist Gursimer Singh, a board member of the women’s rights organization Varken Hora eller Kuvad (“Neither Whore, Nor Subdued”) wrote in an opinion piece published by Dagens Samhälle.

Singh argued that both left-wing and right-wing Swedish politicians have been addressing the problem poorly…”

    • Swedish Politician Proposes Female Genital Mutilation Checks at Airports

Excellent! I’d have no problem with any daughter of mine undergoing a quick, non-intrusive (pull-down-panties), gynecological inspection at whatever border crossing to determine her FGM status. Especially so, if this stuck a stick in the spokes of these barbaric mutilators that are spreading their destructive filth even further into the civilized world.

Like slavery and human trafficking, FGM (Female Genital Mutilation) remains one of this modern era’s most persistent crimes against humanity. Such “sexual blinding” is worthy of capital punishment and (much like forcible rape) should have no statute of limitations. That Islam lies at or near the root of all three of these heinous practices cannot come as any sort of surprise.

Should Sweden care to clutch a last shred of tattered blue and yellow cloth to its repeatedly violated modesty, it may well wish to consider instituting strict monitoring of FGM within its borders. At the very least, this will expose (so to speak) some of the more hardcore elements within their own terroristimmigrant” population.

This one single humanitarian, medical gesture could establish a proverbial “line-in-the-sand” that caught and processed deported those “immigrants” who engage in this horrific and felonious criminal behavior.

Serious consideration should be given to imposing international tariffs upon all nations that do not adequately interdict the practice of FGM. These funds would be directed towards the critical needs, medical care, and psychiatric counseling of immigrant women victims who are victims of FGM.

SIDEBAR: That this barbaric practice persists into the 21st century is stark testimony to, “man’s inhumanity to man.” I am able to use the word, “man”, because the generic is appropriate here. Although it is a twisted patriarchal system that imposes FGM, it is almost unanimously WOMEN who commit FGM against these young, unsuspecting girls. Read, “Warrior Marks: Female Genital Mutilation and the Sexual Blinding of Women”, by Alice Walker and Pratibha Parmar.

After all, why should Western nations be obliged to finance the rehabilitation of FGM victims from these various Islamic and African hell holes?!? Let them finally carry the burden of their own cruelty. The notion that a specific half of a society’s population should be denied the pleasure of physical intimacy is so infuriating that … I’ll stop now.

    • Police in the Swedish municipality of Karlskrona are expected to grant the local Islamic association the right to broadcast the call to prayer in public and are refusing to consult local residents on the decision because it would be too much hard work…

I shiver to think how so few people that read these words will recognize the implications of this as anything more than the usual Islamic Noise Floor™.

SIDEBAR: In electrical engineering terms, a “Noise Floor” is a bottom line that represents the minimal amount of average, regular, persistent, and unavoidable electromagnetic interference, (“i.e., “noise”), allowable (or to-be-found) within an active telecom system—or any other broadband, multiplexed, data distribution network. Imagine how much hiss and static you would put up with from a radio station and go from there.

Here’s a little data about Karlskrona (from [gag] Wikipedia):

Karlskrona is a locality and the seat of Karlskrona Municipality, Blekinge County, Sweden with 35,212 inhabitants in 2010. It is also the capital of Blekinge County. Karlskrona is known as Sweden’s only baroque city and is host to Sweden’s only remaining naval base and the headquarters of the Swedish Coast Guard.

Please pardon me being such an ignoramus and all that but … doesn’t, “Sweden’s only remaining naval base and the headquarters of the Swedish Coast Guard”, sound sorta important?

On a psychological, but no-less-important level, what does “Karlskrona” actually mean? I’ll get all catty and condescending here…

Krona refers to “crown”, as in, not just the Crown of royalty but the “crown” (coinage) that these régimes stamped out with varying degrees of reliability all through their various empires.

Needless to say (then why say it?), Karlskrona carries with it the implications of royal position, financial wealth, and military might that makes this particular location a perfect “overtaken hill” for Islam.

As ever, what could possibly go wrong?!?

  18. Ramadan 101: What NOT to say to your Muslim co-worker when they are fasting (alaraby, May 16, 2018)
    https://www.alaraby.co.uk/english/blog/2018/5/16/what-not-to-say-to-muslim-co-workers-during-ramadan

“Every year, as the month of Ramadan arrives, my colleagues will ask with eager curiosity what fasting entails and why I do it. I’ll happily answer their questions as it allows me to impart some knowledge on Islam and about my beliefs and lifestyle.

However, not everyone’s reaction is the same. Here are some of the most common comments that get thrown at me. If you know of a Muslim co-worker who’s fasting this year please avoid saying any of the following:

I don’t know how you can fast, I could NEVER do that:

Although this may come across as a compliment, the unnecessary praise makes me feel a little uncomfortable.

Fasting is not the same as living through a drought or in poverty. I’m fortunate enough to be able to eat a nutritious and filling meal at the end of every single day. Yes, fasting requires a certain amount of discipline, but like dieting and exercising, anyone can do, if they try.

Surely you can drink water though, right?

A quick Google search on fasting during Ramadan will reveal that no, you can’t drink water, yet this is the most frequently asked question.

My answer to this is usually met with gasps of horror and admiration. It’s worth remembering that Muslims only fast during the daylight hours, so I won’t dehydrate myself or die.

    That’s not safe – you’re starving yourself!

This is probably the most condescending remark because it’s said so flippiantly. In fact, there are numerous health benefits of fasting, if you do it correctly.

Take me for instance – I’ve been doing this for 20 years and guess what, I’m still alive and healthy(ish)!

Why don’t you just eat? No one will know…

Statements like this undermine the sacrifices that millions of Muslims make when they fast. The reward of fasting lies solely on the fact that it is an act that only God will know about, as you can easily pretend to fast in front of others.

Hence, eating secretly makes a mockery of the entire concept. Stop trying to be the devil on my shoulder – it won’t work.

I feel so bad eating in front of you!

Bearing in mind that most non-Muslims don’t believe in the evil eye, this is the most puzzling statement of all. Please don’t eat your desk lunch secretly in fear that a starving Muslim will yank it out of your hand – they’re fasting not starving lions.

You’re so lucky, you’re going to lose so much weight!

Yes, there are studies to show fasting can help aid weight loss but that’s not why we do it. A seemingly positive statement like this might sound fine but again, it undermines the sanctity of Ramadan by implying there are only superficial benefits to doing it.

    What you could say instead…

    Why do Muslims fast?

I really enjoy discussing Ramadan and the wisdom behind fasting and welcome genuine questions about it. It’s only through conversations like these that Muslims can educate others and remove stereotypes and presumptions.

Do you need any support during this month?

Fasting at work can be hard, especially if you’re the only Muslim in the team so by offering support you are taking off some of the load.

What are you going to eat tonight?

There’s nothing a fasting person loves more than to talk about food. Chances are they’ve been daydreaming about the iftar meal from the moment that got into the office so they’ll be more than happy to indulge you with their meal plans…”

    • “I really enjoy discussing Ramadan and the wisdom behind fasting and welcome genuine questions about it.”

And when he had the very chance here…. and yet his reveal of gold and wisdom never came, simply because there is non. Just emotion of how he will enjoy telling kufar about it, just like how he was promised he will get off pleasuring himself with 72 self-sealing virgins.

  19. North Korea takes aim at John Bolton as it threatens to scrap Trump summit over nuclear demands

Donald Trump’s historic meeting with Kim Jong-un has been thrown into uncertainty as North Korea warned it could be cancelled over US military exercises and if Washington presses ahead with its one-sided demand for Pyongyang to give up its nuclear arsenal.

Kim Kye-gwan, North Korea’s deputy foreign minister, warned on Wednesday that Pyongyang was not interested in talks that would pressure the rogue state to “unilaterally” give up its nuclear programme, taking aim at “unbridled remarks” by John Bolton, the US national security adviser, and other high-ranking White House officials.

In a statement issued by the North Korean Central News Agency [KCNA], Mr Kim took issue in particular with Mr Bolton’s references to the so-called Libya model of nuclear abandonment and his statements on “complete, verifiable and irreversible denuclearisation.”

Mr Kim claimed the remarks cast doubt on America’s sincerity, underlining that his country was not Libya, which met a “miserable fate.”

In a statement issued by the North Korean Central News Agency [KCNA], Mr Kim took issue in particular with Mr Bolton’s references to the so-called Libya model of nuclear abandonment and his statements on “complete, verifiable and irreversible denuclearisation.”

Well shuckey darn! That, “irreversible denuclearisation”, certainly does have an enticing, albeit elusive, ring to it, eh? Regardless of any criticism, Bolton’s demand for parallel elimination of all North Korean biochemical weapons isn’t just heavy-handed, it’s fü¢king imperative!

Allowing Kim Jong Un access to anything more than a rusty hand grenade is an uncertain bet, at best! Somehow, managing to stampede Communist China away from irresponsibly-nuclear-testing, provocatively-rocket-launching, radioactive-gas-venting, disaster-inviting, North Korea wouldn’t seem to be such a ginormous strategic exercise.

Unfortunately, logic and reason have no place at this table. Ideology rules the day.

North Korea’s government says it is considering calling off a planned nuclear summit between dictator Kim Jong-un and U.S. President Donald Trump.

Kim’s regime said through state-run news agency KCNA that ongoing ‘Max Thunder’ joint military exercises between the United States and South Korea are actually a ‘rehearsal for invasion’ of the North.

‘The United States will also have to undertake careful deliberations about the fate of the planned North Korea-U.S. summit in light of this provocative military ruckus jointly conducted with the South Korean authorities,’ KCNA said.

The White House made no immediate moves to slow down preparations for the summit on Tuesday.

  22. Suspended Pa. teacher fatally shot 10 times in mom’s driveway; suspect at large

Multiple gunshots rang out late Sunday night in Aliquippa, Beaver County, as a suspended teacher was fatally gunned down in her mother’s driveway, with the suspect still at large.

Now there is a full-blown mystery surrounding the killing of 32-year-old school teacher Rachael DelTondo.

As KDKA-TV in Pittsburgh reports, DelTondo was suspended from her teaching job at Pa. Cyber after confidential information allegedly leaked from the Aliquippa Police concerning her and a former student. Her plans to marry also were scuttled by the controversy, KDKA reports.

KDKA cites sources saying the alleged police leak about DelTondo also prompted a Pa. state police investigation of the Aliquippa Police, with DelTondo cooperating.

    • Investigators probe slaying of suspended cyber-school teacher in Aliquippa

A 33-year-old woman shot to death Sunday night in Aliquippa was a veteran elementary school teacher who’d been suspended in October after school officials learned she’d been found in a car with a 17-year-old boy at 2 a.m., parked on a dead-end street.

Rachael DelTondo, of Aliquippa, was shot multiple times in the driveway of her parents’ house in the 2100 block of Buchanan Street around 10:45 p.m., according to Beaver County officials.

Ms. DelTondo had been a teacher with The Pennsylvania Cyber Charter School for nine years, until allegations surfaced in October that she’d had inappropriate contact with a teenage boy, said Chief Executive Officer Brian Hayden.

ALIQUIPPA (KDKA) — The death of a young woman, who was gunned down overnight in her family’s driveway in Aliquippa, Beaver County, has been ruled a homicide.

After returning home late Sunday night from an ice cream shop, Rachael DelTondo stepped on to the driveway of her mother’s Buchanan Street home and into a hail of bullets.

“I counted six shots that I heard,” said Fred Poore, a neighbor.

The 32-year-old school teacher was shot and died in the driveway. The Beaver County Coroner’s Office has ruled DelTondo’s death a homicide, saying she died of multiple gunshots to the trunk.

  23. California assisted death law overturned in court

A judge in Riverside County on Tuesday overturned California’s controversial assisted death law nearly two years after it took effect, ruling that the Legislature improperly passed the measure during a special session on health care funding.

The court is holding its judgment for five days, according to representatives for supporters and opponents of the law, to give the state time to file an emergency appeal.

“We’re very satisfied with the court’s decision today,” said Stephen G. Larson, lead counsel for a group of doctors who sued in 2016 to stop the law. “The act itself was rushed through the special session of the Legislature and it does not have any of the safeguards one would expect to see in a law like this.”

“With the continuing threat of attacks by international terrorists in Syria, our ships with Kalibr cruise missiles will carry out a permanent patrol in the Mediterranean Sea,” Russian President Vladimir Putin said in Sochi on Wednesday during a meeting dedicated to the development of Russia’s Armed Forces.

“The high combat readiness and effectiveness of the naval forces is the most important factor of the country’s military and economic security,” he said, adding that it is important to fly the Russian flag in key areas of the world’s oceans. One hundred and two ship and submarine exercises and missions are expected to be carried out this year.

“It is necessary to strengthen the naval component of the Strategic Nuclear Forces. This will increase the role of the fleet in providing a nuclear deterrence,” Putin added.

The Russian president concluded the meeting by saying “we will continue to equip the Navy as part of the state program of armament with the newest systems of weapons, communications, reconnaissance and target designation.”

The human rights group estimates that at least 7,000 migrants and refugees are languishing in Libyan detention centres, a sharp increase from March when there were 4,400 detainees.

The increase has been attributed to a surge in the number of migrants and refugees being intercepted at sea by the Libyan authorities. Libya has recently played a greater role in preventing the passage of migrants and refugees into Europe at the behest of Mediterranean countries keen to reduce the numbers reaching their shores.

Amnesty has accused European governments of complicity in the abuse taking place in the detention centres through their active supporting of the Libyan authorities in stopping sea crossings and sending people back to detention centres in Libya…”

China, Russia and other authoritarian countries inflate their official GDP figures by anywhere from 15 to 30 percent in a given year, according to a new analysis of a quarter-century of satellite data.

The working paper, by Luis R. Martinez of the University of Chicago, also found that authoritarian regimes are especially likely to artificially boost their gross domestic product numbers in the years before elections, and that the differences in GDP reporting between authoritarian and non-authoritarian countries can’t be explained by structural factors, such as urbanization, composition of the economy or access to electricity.

Martinez’s findings are derived from a novel data source: satellite imagery that tracks changes in the level of nighttime lighting within and between countries over time.

  33. Anti-NRA group calls for nationwide gun census where workers go into your house, look for guns
By Joe Newby May 15, 2018

A video posted to Facebook by an anti-NRA group advocates what it calls a “gun census program” as part of an effort to repeal and replace the Second Amendment. The group page, Hunters Against NRA, is quite small, with just over 1,000 followers, but the Facebook video, which appears below, has been viewed over 363,000 times.

The individual in the video, identified as “Skylar B.,” says that he is going to propose a nationwide gun census after Democrats take Congress this November. According to Skylar, a census worker will go door-to-door, looking for anyone who self-identifies as a gun owner.

Those people will be required to state how many firearms they have with a verification process that involves the census worker entering the person’s private residence to search for the weapons.

“They will scour the property looking for firearms,” Skylar explains in the video.

Skylar avows that there is “nothing extreme” about his proposal, which he insists will become law in two years “tops” … probably.

      • And bless your heart, as they say.

I trust you mean this in the same way that Southern belles often say, “she’s so bucktoothed that she could eat an apple through a picket fence … bless her heart!“.

  34. Germany: ‘It isn’t fair for the US to withdraw’ from Iran deal – Merkel

German Chancellor Angela Merkel urged to stay in the Iranian nuclear deal, despite it being “not exactly ideal” speaking from the German Parliament in Berlin, Wednesday.

Merkel stressed that this agreement was “endorsed unanimously” and therefore “it isn’t fair for the USA to retreat from this deal,” adding that she sees staying committed to the deal a better option that retreating from it.

  35. Did Hillary Clinton use campaign funds to finance her book tour?
By Rusty Weiss May 16, 2018

By this point, nothing that Hillary Clinton has done or will do is much of a shock anymore. Her and her family’s nefarious dealings are so far-reaching that it scarcely elicits a yawn when we learn about another ethical or legal breach on the part of the woman who yearned to be president.

The Washington Free Beacon reports that Clinton sent nearly $150,000 in unused campaign funds to a limited liability corporation for organizing her book tour and speaking engagements. This is a blatant violation of Federal Election Commission rules.

After her presidential campaign began to wind down, payments were made from the Hillary for America PAC to ZFS Holdings LLC.

The payments were identified as “rent,” but a 2016 interview in the Guardian cites an aide to the former Secretary of State who explained that “ZFS was set up when Secretary Clinton left the State Department as an entity to manage her book and speaking income.”

  36. CNN tweets image of President Trump with cross hairs superimposed
By Howard Portnoy May 16, 2018

The about-face that began seven years ago is now complete.

Back then liberals, desperate to blame “bitter clingers” for the killings in Tuscon of six people and wounding of then-Rep. Gabby Giffords, grasped at straws. They insisted that Jared Lee Loughner, the shooter, was a Republican. In fact he was a registered Independent whom a former friend described as “very liberal.”

But far and away the silliest j’accuse the Left cooked up as proof of conservative “incivility” was a map of electoral districts that had been circulated prior to the shooting by Sarah Palin’s political action committee. The artist who made the map used a symbol to target congressional seats held by Giffords and 19 other Democrats that some, including The New York Times, swore was a stylized rifle cross hairs.

The symbol in question, as LU argued, was a printer’s registration mark, used to align the printing plates in four-color printing.

  37. Nunes now hints what others have concluded: Trump campaign was set up by Obama agencies
By LU Staff May 16, 2018

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes of California said the Trump campaign might have been set up by the federal government back in 2016.

“Let’s talk about how did this get started? You had Fusion GPS that was hired by the Democratic Party and the Clinton campaign to draw up a dossier on the president — or as the president was running for president,” Nunes said Tuesday on “Fox & Friends.” “What happened with that is that in [Glen Simpson’s] testimony he mentioned that there was a source within the campaign.

  38. Audits, arrests skyrocket as feds crack down on employers who hire illegals

Immigration authorities under President Donald Trump haven’t just cracked down on illegal aliens, they’ve also stepped up worksite enforcement against the businesses who hire them.

Employer audits and investigations into workplace immigration violations have surged in fiscal year 2018, leading to criminal and civil arrests that far exceed the number recorded in the previous year, according to statistics released Monday by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

There were 2,282 employer audits — known as I-9 audits — opened between Oct. 1 and May 4, according to the ICE data. That was about a 60% increase from the 1,360 audits opened between October 2016 and September 2017. Total worksite investigations also spiked in the same period: ICE’s criminal investigators have opened 3,510 worksite investigations so far this fiscal year, compared to 1,716 for all of fiscal year 2017.

“Our worksite enforcement strategy continues to focus on the criminal prosecution of employers who knowingly break the law, and the use of I-9 audits and civil fines to encourage compliance with the law,” Derek N. Benner, the acting executive associate director for ICE’s criminal investigation division, said in a statement.
