    • DIALY MAIL –Ramadan 2018: Google searches to be tailored for the holy month

Google has unveiled new search features and other tools to assist with ramadan
Ramadan is the holiest month in the Islamic calendar and will soon be observed
Google’s tailored searches resulted from unique ramadan searches by country

Google is helping Muslims navigate the holy month of ramadan in a number of unique ways.

The California-based tech titan has unveiled new applications and products related to ramadan intended to help practitioners of the Islamic faith during the most sacred month of the calendar.

The company has recently rolled out an interactive calligraphy application called Qalam to help create 3-D ramadan messages and cards as well as an augmented reality tool called the Qibla Finder to help Muslims find Mecca’s direction for prayer.

According to Najeeb Jarrar, Google’s head of brand and consumer marketing at its Middle Eastern offices: ‘During ramadan there’s a spike in the information required for prayer times, card making, how to give to charity and how and when to fast.’

Jarrar also stressed the importance of delivering timely, accurate results in Arabic, especially related to topics such as travel, health and food.

Food has emerged as an especially popular topic in recent years, with many users searching for recipes for Suhoor and Iftar, the predawn and post-sunset meals consumed by Muslims during fasting. Notably, food topic searches tend to vary by country and by year.

In Egypt, the most popular trending dish in 2015 was shakshouka, a meal made of tomatoes, chili peppers, onions and poached eggs. The following year, the top dishes searched for were knafa with mangoes and pastrami with egg sandwiches.

In Saudi Arabia, the most searched for foods were Nutella and Qatayef with cheese in both 2016 and 2017.

In the United Arab Emirates, food recipes for cheese filo pastry rolls and cheese with zaatar manaeesh were the top trending searches for 2015. Just a year later, the top search was actually for spinach fatayer.

Due to the differing searches between disparate countries and regions, Google tailored its search results differently for each one.

Google has done far more than just tailor search results for specific countries for ramadan. The company has also helped Muslims send ramadan greetings and find Mecca’s direction for prayer.

The company’s Qibla Finder has made great strides over the years and has helped to point Muslims in the direction of Mecca for praying.

Additionally, its new Qalam application has made it simple and accessible to create and share Ramadan greeting cards with friends and family members. The company worked extensively with calligraphists, including Soraya Syed, one of Pakistan’s first female calligraphers, and artists from around the world to craft over 35 artworks which seamlessly blend art, calligraphy and virtual reality.[…]

  1. “The Muslim holy month of Ramadan starts on Tuesday, May 15, and most of the world’s 1.6 billion Muslims will observe it. This means there’s a good chance you might encounter someone — a friend, a co-worker, the barista making your latte at Starbucks, your child’s teacher [a suicide bomber] — who will be celebrating, fasting, and doing all sorts of other activities that are unique to the holy month.”

  2. Mueller may have a conflict — and it leads directly to a Russian oligarch

Special counsel Robert Mueller has withstood relentless political attacks, many distorting his record of distinguished government service.

But there’s one episode even Mueller’s former law enforcement comrades — and independent ethicists — acknowledge raises legitimate legal issues and a possible conflict of interest in his overseeing the Russia election probe.

  3. Mueller Refutes Manafort’s Claim of Grand Jury Leaks by Government

Special Counsel Robert Mueller urged a federal judge to reject a request by Paul Manafort, the indicted former Trump campaign chairman, for a hearing to determine whether government officials improperly leaked secret grand-jury information to the news media.

U.S. prosecutors said in a filing on Monday that defense attorneys had failed to provide evidence that news reports about Mueller’s investigation of Manafort were based on matters before a grand jury in Alexandria, Virginia, that indicted him in February on tax- and bank-fraud charges.

Manafort had asked the judge to identify and punish government officials who allegedly disclosed secret information that appeared in reports by the Associated Press, the New York Times, CNN, NBC News and BuzzFeed. Mueller, who is investigating Russian meddling in the 2016 election, called Manafort’s claims “speculative” and said Manafort had failed to meet the standard for a hearing.

GAZA (Reuters) – Palestinians rallied in Gaza on Tuesday for the funerals of scores of people killed by Israeli troops a day earlier, while on the Gaza-Israel border, Israeli forces took up positions to deal with the expected final day of a Palestinian protest campaign.

Monday’s violence on the border, which took place as the United States opened its new embassy in Jerusalem, was the bloodiest for Palestinians since the 2014 Gaza conflict.

  6. Mueller cases taking on water: Now potential conflict of interest leads to top Russian oligarch
    By J.E. Dyer May 14, 2018

John Solomon writes on Monday about emerging information on a potential conflict of interest for Robert Mueller in his activities as special counsel. The conflict involves one of the biggest “Russian oligarch” names, Oleg Deripaska.

The issue doesn’t seem to be that Mueller had inappropriate dealings with Deripaska — or, at least, it isn’t directly about that.

Mueller’s FBI may have cooperated with Deripaska in a way it shouldn’t have, in the period 2009-2011, and Mueller would have been well aware that was happening. But the real concern appears to be that Mueller’s current indictment of Paul Manafort, on fraud and money-laundering charges going back to 2005, omitted any reference to Deripaska, when such references would have been obvious, and would have made a better case.

The appearance is thus created of a Mueller conflict that doesn’t bear examination. That, in turn, would be an open door for inviting the Deripaska-FBI interlude into the Manafort defense.

John Solomon gives the background on the FBI’s cooperation with Deripaska:

  7. White House leakers leak about leaking
    By J.E. Dyer May 14, 2018

There are no surprises in the post at Axios today about why leakers from the Trump White House do their leaking. 8. Witnessing history: U.S. embassy opens in Jerusalem
    By J.E. Dyer May 15, 2018

I don’t feel a need to go on at length over the opening of the U.S. embassy in Jerusalem on Monday, 14 May 2018.

A great deal has been written about it elsewhere, for good or ill. (See, for example, the compelling and heartfelt post by our contributor Jeff Dunetz.)

I am proud that America has finally done this – and humbled that our nation has the stature that makes it so significant.

I am happy indeed for the people of Israel, for whom it means so much.

I think it’s hard to process, for people who don’t see it as part of a geopolitical trend we humans are not fully in control of. It has been received wisdom for some time now – although really not that long, against the panoramic timeline of history – that the status of Jerusalem is too contentious to be addressed through the relatively simple process of “recognizing a capital city.” Yet Trump has moved our embassy there, and affirmed that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel. And here were no dragons, after all.

“Fury” from whom? We all know damn well that a march held to protest this wave of knife attacks would see everyone involved arrested for “hostility” (their new pet buzz word) or hate speech against Muslims—which a vast majority of these stabby types are.

Of course, they’ll never admit this connection, you’ll just be arrested on some vague charge and then be stripped of your rights, job, children, home, and so forth.

But because the family, who wish to remain anonymous, hadn’t ordered new SIM cards they presumed the letters were junk mail and only noticed them recently.

Now the family have voiced their disgust at the ‘saddening’ incident and O2 has said it is ‘appalled’ by the hate mail and apologised to them…”

  10. Sweden needs 124,000 public sector workers by 2025 to keep its world-renowned welfare state operating (dailymail, May 15, 2018)
    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5730915/Sweden-needs-124-000-public-sector-workers-2025.html

“Sweden needs to hire 124,000 new public sector workers by 2025 to keep up with the country’s growing – and ageing – population, a new report warns.

The Swedish work force is estimated to increase by 207,000 in the next seven years, of which 60 per cent would need to enter the public sector in order to maintain the welfare state.

Sweden is known to have one of the highest taxes in the West, with its population benefiting from national healthcare, free primary and university education and heavily subsidized care for the elderly.

The public sector is the biggest employer in Sweden, however, due to the projected demographic changes in the country, it now requires more workers.

The annual report from the Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions (SKL) found that the lack of public sector workers will eventually put the country’s world-famous welfare state at risk.

To keep the current level of service provision, the Swedish public sector needs an additional 124,000 workers by 2025.

This would mean 60 per cent of the total workforce increase – estimated at 207,000 people.

At the moment, around 30 per cent of those entering the workforce do so into the public sector – a figure which has remained largely unchanged for the past ten years.

As a result, SKL writes in its report, the goal of 124,000 new public sector workers in the next seven years is ‘not realistic’. ‘Instead, productivity in the public sector – as in the private sector – must increase.’

SKL chairman Lena Micko says: ‘The public sector will need to recruit, but we also need new working methods where we utilise the possibilities of technology to ease workload and make staff more effective.

‘Making working full time the norm, and having a longer working life could also decrease the need for more co-workers,’ she adds.

SKL writes in the report that an increase of funds is necessary to be able to sustain the current welfare state, which it suggests could be sourced from increased taxes.

As Sweden is going to the polls in September, suggestions of raising already high taxes could prove controversial.

The main issues during the election campaign are expected to be health care, education and immigration, with the far-right Sweden Democrats yet again on the rise following the country’s record immigration figures.

Sweden has registered around 400,000 asylum requests since 2012, or one for every 25 inhabitants – the highest in Europe.”

  11. Man Found Dead in Car Riddled with Bullets in French No-Go Zone (breitbart, May 15, 2018)
    http://www.breitbart.com/london/2018/05/15/man-found-dead-car-riddled-bullets-french-no-go-zone/

“A man was found dead by French police in the no-go Parisien suburb over the weekend in his car which was riddled with bullet holes in the latest bout of violence in the troubled area.

The man was shot either during the night on Sunday or in the early morning of Monday in the commune of Saint-Denis which is part of the heavily migrant populated Seine-Saint-Denis area, broadcaster Franceinfo reports.

Police say the shooting took place in an area where violence between criminal gangs has become more common in recent months.

One witness said at least a dozen shots were fired at the victim. Emergency services attempted to save him, but he died at the scene.

Until recently, the existence of migrant ghetto ‘No Go Zones’ was contested by leading politicians and the mainstream media. The publication of Breitbart London editor Raheem Kassam’s book No Go Zones: How Sharia Law Is Coming to a Neighborhood Near You in 2017 was followed months later by German Chancellor Angela Merkel admitting that they do, in fact, exist.

The investigation into the Paris shooting is ongoing, and so far police have not announced the possible motivation for the brutal murder or any clues as to the identity of the victim…”

    • By not mentioning the ethnicity of the victim, the general public has no way of discerning whether this was just more of the usual internecine banlieue violence or, instead, a murder of some hapless frog who strayed too close to the Islamic ghetto’s whirlpool.

In this manner, France’s own government and media help to build the no-go zones. Without the above information, Infidels will merely avoid these areas altogether, thus, reinforcing the exact end goals that Muslims had in mind.

  12. Sweden: Organised Criminals Recruiting ‘Child’ Migrants for ‘Youth Army’ (breitbart, May 15, 2018)
    http://www.breitbart.com/london/2018/05/15/sweden-organised-criminals-recruiting-child-migrants-youth-army/

“X-team, a subsidiary of the Bandidos criminal network in Kalmar, Sweden, is recruiting unaccompanied ‘child’ migrants to serve as a “youth army” (ungdomsarmé).

Intercepted conversations between the X-team lead and his Bandidos contact, played for a Swedish court during a recent trial, recorded the pair discussing how to groom particular refugees for recruitment, reports Sveriges Radio, Sweden’s national, publicly-funded radio broadcaster.

“It is good. We can shape them. They become hyper-loyal, you know, when we put together a life for them,” the Bandidos contact gloats.

Police analyst Sven Granath told listeners migrants typically begin their criminal careers around age 18 — although a very large proportion of ‘child’ migrants subjected to age tests are found to be significantly older than they claim.

While Sweden’s pro-mass migration political class has been reluctant to provide the public with information on the ethnic background of criminals following a spike in sex attacks, independent research has indicated that up to 85 per cent of gang rapes involve men with a migration background.

There are concerns victims may be more reluctant to come forward if the perpetrators have links to feared crime syndicates like the Bandidos…”

    https://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/soros-foundation-quit-hungary-clash-government-55172695

“The foundation of billionaire philanthropist, George Soros, is relocating its headquarters to Berlin from Budapest in the wake of an “increasingly repressive” environment in Hungary.

In a statement Tuesday, the Open Society Foundations, or OSF, said the move is due to the Hungarian government’s plan to “impose further restrictions on non-governmental organizations through what it has branded its ‘Stop Soros’ package of legislation.”

Soros, 87, has clashed with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban for years.

Orban has accused Soros of being part of a strategy to flood Europe with migrants and of meddling in domestic affairs.

Patrick Gaspard, the OSF’s president, said the government has “denigrated and misrepresented our work and repressed civil society for the sake of political gain, using tactics unprecedented in the history of the European Union.””

    https://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/indonesia-police-shoot-dead-suspected-militant-arrest-13-55171417

“Indonesian police fatally shot a militant and arrested 13 others Tuesday suspected of links to suicide bombings carried out by two families in the country’s second-largest city.

Surabaya police spokesman Frans Barung Mangera said the militant died in a shootout in a Surabaya neighborhood with counter-terrorism police, who had tried to arrest him over possible involvement in the attacks that killed at least 13 people.

He said the arrests of suspected militants were made in raids in Surabaya and its neighboring cities of Malang and Pasuruan.

Coordinated suicide bombings at three churches were carried out Sunday by a family of six that included girls aged 8 and 12.

A second family bombed Surabaya’s police headquarters on Monday. Their 7-year-old daughter survived the attack.

All told, 26 people died in the two days of attacks including a total of 13 militants and their children.

The Islamic State group claimed responsibility for all the attacks in statements carried by its Aamaq news agency.

Earlier Tuesday, police searched the home of the family that bombed Surabaya’s police headquarters.”

  15. Rights official urges Bosnia to do more for migrants (abcnews, May 15, 2018)
    https://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/rights-official-urges-bosnia-migrants-55171861

“Bosnia must do more to help migrants, a European human rights official said Tuesday as the war-scarred country struggles to cope with a growing influx of people trying to reach Western Europe through the Balkans.

Dunja Mijatovic, the Council of Europe’s Commissioner for Human Rights, expressed concern in a letter to Bosnian authorities over “lack of systematic response” to the situation, with migrants sleeping outdoors in Bosnia’s streets and parks.

“I am concerned to learn that many refugees and migrants, including families with children, sleep rough on the streets and have irregular access to food,” Mijatovic wrote. “This situation cannot continue in this way.”

Migrants have turned to Bosnia in recent months, trying to avoid more heavily guarded routes and borders in the Balkans. From Bosnia, migrants seek to enter EU-member Croatia in the northwest, and move on toward Western Europe.

Dozens of people have been camping in central Sarajevo, the Bosnian capital, setting up a small tent settlement. Sarajevo citizens, who suffered under siege during Bosnia’s 1992-95 war, have been bringing food and clothes to help.

Bosnia’s Council of Ministers, the country’s government, is set later Tuesday to adopt more measures on providing housing, food and medical care for the migrants. Officials have warned that the influx could strain Bosnia’s already weak economy.

“Where can we get the money, where?” Interior Minister Dragan Mektic said on the state TV, urging help from the European Union and other Balkan countries in controlling the influx. “The route is growing and we could face a crisis.”

Hundreds of thousands of migrants entered Europe through the Balkans in 2015 before countries in the region closed their borders. EU member Hungary set up barbed-wire fences on its southern border with Serbia to stop the influx of migrants.

Migrants first arrive in Greece across the sea from Turkey, then move on toward Albania and Montenegro and then on to Bosnia, before proceeding to Croatia and Slovenia…”

Sure thing. Like that war torn Muslim hell hole is ready to be bled dry by a bunch of economic opportunists (coreligionists or not). This will make for a very amusing spectacle. Especially as Bosnia is one of the few Muslim majority nations in the EU.

“A Bahrain court on Tuesday revoked the citizenship of 115 people at a mass terrorism trial, sentencing dozens to prison amid a years-long crackdown on all dissent in the island kingdom.

Bahrain’s Public Prosecution said the case involved a little-known militant group it identified as the “Zulfiqar Brigades,” whose mass arrests authorities previously announced in 2016.

Prosecutors said those accused built and detonated bombs, received weapons training and plotted to kill police officers in Bahrain, an island off the coast of Saudi Arabia in the Persian Gulf.

A statement from prosecutors said 53 defendants received life sentences, while dozens of others faced prison time. It said 23 defendants were acquitted.

    https://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/officials-taliban-attacks-farah-city-west-afghanistan-55167732

“Taliban insurgents launched attacks from multiple directions on the capital of Farah province in western Afghanistan near the border with Iran early Tuesday, killing and wounding “dozens” of security forces, a local official said.

Fared Bakhtawer, head of the provincial council, said several security checkpoints in the city of Farah were overrun by Taliban fighters and that an intense gun battle was ongoing.

Bakhtawer said casualties were high among security forces, but couldn’t provide a precise number.

“Security checkpoints around the city have collapsed in the hands of the Taliban, causing high casualties among security forces,” he said.

Meanwhile, Abdul Basir Salangi, provincial governor, confirmed heavy fighting in the city. “An intense battle is going on in the city,” he said without providing additional details.

Local reporters said the city was empty and shops, schools and government offices are closed as people hid inside their houses.

Mohammad Sarwar Osmani, a lawmaker from Farah province, said strategic security checkpoints around the city were overrun by Taliban and the insurgents were near police headquarters and the governor’s offices.

Najib Danish, spokesman for the Interior Ministry, said at least six security forces were killed and 12 others, including the deputy provincial police chief, were wounded in the attack.

Reinforcements including commando units as well as the Afghan air force were battling Taliban fighters around the city, he said. “There is no danger of Farah city collapsing into the hands of Taliban,” he added.

Zabihullah Mujahid, a Taliban spokesman, claimed responsibility. He said fighters launched attacks form multiple directions, after which they overran several checkpoints in the city. Farah borders Helmand province, where the Taliban controls several districts.

The Afghan Defense Ministry said in a statement Tuesday that Afghan security forces were able to repel their attacks…”

  20. In this article I offer new evidence about something readers of Academic Questions already know: The political registration of full-time, Ph.D.-holding professors in top-tier liberal arts colleges is overwhelmingly Democratic. Indeed, faculty political affiliations at 39 percent of the colleges in my sample are Republican free—having zero Republicans. The political registration in most of the remaining 61 percent, with a few important exceptions, is slightly more than zero percent but nevertheless absurdly skewed against Republican affiliation and in favor of Democratic affiliation. Thus, 78.2 percent of the academic departments in my sample have either zero Republicans, or so few as to make no difference.

My sample of 8,688 tenure track, Ph.D.–holding professors from fifty-one of the sixty-six top ranked liberal arts colleges in the U.S. News 2017 report consists of 5,197, or 59.8 percent, who are registered either Republican or Democrat. The mean Democratic-to-Republican ratio (D:R) across the sample is 10.4:1, but because of an anomaly in the definition of what constitutes a liberal arts college in the U.S. News survey, I include two military colleges, West Point and Annapolis.1 If these are excluded, the D:R ratio is a whopping 12.7:1.

    • It is very much like Stalinist USSR there as only belonging to the party gave you entrance. Even the Nazis were not so academically wired except WRT Jews. It is the downfall of the meritocracy that has served the west so well and the rise of the academic proles of the socialist kakocracy. In the liberal arts, teaching yourself has to be better than listening to some feeble progressive drooling over his PC hate list during lectures. When this rot hits science and engineering totally(it is already there now) the dark age will beckon more closely. We all know how political(in the west)/racist(in Africa) bias turns out WRT efficiency. Enjoy the drought Capetown.

      • Western Civ is on its last legs, the Modern schools systems are on their last legs. What we are fighting to preserve is freedom so we can rebuild our nations and civilization.

        • “…the Modern schools systems are on their last legs.”

Too bad they’re damned farking centipedes!

  21. THOUSANDS OF GAZA HAMAS THUGS ATTACK ISRAEL FOR $100 A DAY
They attack for $100 a day. And Israeli soldiers fight them for $13 a day.

Hamas supporters in Gaza held the world’s first peaceful protest with hand grenades, pipe bombs, cleavers and guns. Ten explosive devices were peacefully detonated. There were outbursts of peaceful gunfire and over a dozen kites carrying firebombs were sent into Israel where they started 23 peaceful fires. And Israeli soldiers peacefully defended their country leaving multiple Hamas attackers at peace.

“We will tear down the border,” Hamas Prime Minister Yahya Sinwar had peacefully vowed. “And we will tear out their hearts from their bodies.”

But the only hearts his terror thugs tore out were already bleeding with sympathy for Islamic terrorists.

The Hamas mob chanted, “Allahu Akbar” and the genocidal racist threat of, “Khaybar Khaybar, ya yahud,” a reference to the primal Islamic massacre of the Jews. While IDF soldiers held back the invaders, the jets of the IAF targeted the snake’s head striking Hamas compounds and outposts. By 5.30 PM, the Hamas organizers changed course and began urging the thugs away from further fence attacks.

Guess which majority walked away at day’s end? A lot of flipping good that $100 does you if you’re purposefully interposed in an IDF stream of fire. Toe tag at no extra charge.

Another large-scale round of “Palestinian” gene pool chlorination. Thank goodness…

  22. A London emergency room doctor has been shot in the leg while treating patients injured in violent clashes between Israeli forces and Palestinians in eastern Gaza.

Tarek Loubani was part of a medical team testing out 3D-printed tourniquets on wounded patients as protests unfolded in Gaza on Monday. At least 61 people, including a paramedic in his medical team, have been killed, the worst bloodshed in the region since 2014.

“The scene in eastern Gaza was bad since early morning,” Loubani wrote in a statement posted online Monday.

“There was so much live fire that the first responder services stood outside the protest area and only approached when needed.”

Loubani and Toronto filmmaker John Greyson, who grew up in London, gained international attention in 2013 when they were detained in Egypt while en route to Gaza for a medical mission.

The pair was arrested in Cairo and spent more than 50 days in jail, accused of supporting the deposed president Mohamed Morsi or the Muslim Brotherhood.

  23. Climate scientists are giving science a bad name, says a leading atmospheric physicist in an essay on the global warming debate.
Professor Garth Paltridge, formerly a chief scientist with Australia’s Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) Division of Atmospheric Research, says that the behavior of certain members of the climate science establishment is “seriously threatening the public’s perception of the professionalism of scientists in general.”

Many climate scientists are much less sure about man-made global warming than they will admit in public, he says. But rather than reach out to skeptics in order to open up the debate and explore the uncertainties, they have instead closed ranks and rubbished anyone who disagrees with them:

Some of the more vocal of the establishment climate researchers have fallen into a mode of open denigration of climate sceptics (“deniers” is the offensive popular terminology of the day). They insist that only researchers directly within the climate-change community are capable of giving authoritative advice. They insist that one can find true and reputable science only in peer-reviewed climate literature. But most significantly, they seem to have evolved a policy of deliberately excluding sceptics from climate-change forums of one sort or another, and indeed of refusing to take part in any forum where sceptics may share the podium.

Their high-handedness, Paltridge says, is redolent of “medieval religion”:

      And his point is?

The Great Warmening™ has proven to be one of the most divisive decisive issues to confront modern scientists. A most stark dividing line likely would center on funding. As in, either produce anticipated results or do not expect renewed financial support.

For petrochemical industry shills it’s a lot more explicit. Toe the line or go.

What are we to expect from these “scientific” sources?

A new report reveals that rescue attempts for an American long-held in Iranian captivity fell apart due to Hillary Clinton.

Retired FBI agent, Robert Levinson, was captured in Iran while working for the CIA in 2007. The Iranian government has continually denied knowing anything about him though it has released photos of him. A rescue attempt back in 2009 – 2010 that never materialized was detailed in a new report by John Solomon at The Hill.

  26. BUDAPEST (Reuters) – Billionaire George Soros’s pro-democracy foundation said on Tuesday it would shut its office in Budapest and move to Berlin, leaving what it called “an increasingly repressive political and legal environment” in Hungary.

Prime Minister Viktor Orban has repeatedly accused Soros and his Open Society Foundations (OSF) of encouraging migration into Europe and of undermining Hungary’s national culture, charges the Budapest-born philanthropist denies.

Orban’s critics say the OSF’s departure would mark a milestone in a slide towards what they see as authoritarian rule in Hungary, a European Union member state, where Orban’s right-wing Fidesz party last month was re-elected with a big majority.

“Turkey told the Israeli ambassador to Ankara to return to Israel “for some time”, sources in the Turkish foreign ministry said on Tuesday, after Israeli forces killed more than 60 Palestinians during protests on the Gaza border.

Turkey, a vocal critic of the violence in Gaza and the opening of the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem, has called for a meeting of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, and said on Monday it was recalling its ambassadors to Washington and Tel Aviv for consultations.”

“Forces of Libyan commander Khalifa Haftar attacked opposition targets in the eastern city of Derna on Tuesday using aircraft and artillery, taking a wheat silo and villages on the outskirts, military officials said.

It was the first major operation since Haftar announced last week that he would seize the last stronghold of opposition to his Libyan National Army (LNA) in the east of the country.

The LNA has surrounded the city, on the coastal highway between Benghazi and Egypt, and has long threatened to begin ground operations there. Its campaign had previously been limited to occasional air strikes and bombardments.

Derna is controlled by a coalition of Islamists and rebel veterans known as the Derna Mujahideen Shura Council (DMSC)…”

  29. Iranian Group Offers $100,000 to Blow Up New U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem

A hardline Iranian organization is reportedly offering a $100,000 reward to any person who bombs the newly opened U.S. embassy in Jerusalem, according to a translation of Farsi language reports.

A group known as the Iranian Justice Seeker Student Movement is reported to have disseminated posters calling for an attack on the U.S. embassy in Jerusalem, which has been opposed by Palestinian and Iranian officials as an affront to the holy city.

“The Student Justice Movement will support anybody who destroy the illegal American embassy in Jerusalem,” the poster states in Farsi, Arabic, and English, according to an independent translation of the propaganda poster provided to the Free Beacon.

There will be a “$100,000 dollar prize for the person who destroys the illegal American embassy in Jerusalem,” the poster states.

    • Iranian Group Offers $100,000 to Blow Up New U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem

Howsabout we just offer ONE MILLION to get information that allows us to blow up their [gasp!] entire network?

    • The man asks are we witnessing the death of Europe or its rebirth? This depends on what the ordinary European does, decide the politicians who are surrendering are right or fight and save Europe. Those are the choices, which will they chose?

      • They have no choice unless they fight: look at the UK where May is virtually ignoring Brexit and hoping for a 2nd referendum. They no longer care about the people or their opinions as they force feed them MSM lies and make them unwilling to risk discomfort while all the time they are destroying them as a people.

        • The pressure in Europe keeps increasing and the various governments ignore it, things are going to blow and blow very big. Once one nation revolts the violence will spread to all European nations and eventually to all Western Nations.

First lady Melania Trump had kidney surgery Monday at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.

The surgery was successful on a benign embolism in the first lady’s kidney. President Trump will visit Melania later Monday evening and she is expected to remain hospitalized for the remainder of the week.

The office of the first lady said in a statement:

      • Good I hope she spends a long time in the pen.

She’s just diminutive enough such that her ugly looks might be insufficient to discourage a really determined bull dyke guard. I’m sure we all know how this is going to keep me awake during the long winter nights.

  36. California: Public high school yearbook has lavish two-page Islam presentation entitled “ALLAH AKBAR”

“Allahu akbar” means Allah is greater, i.e., greater than your god. It’s a declaration of superiority. Jihad mass murderers the world over scream “Allahu akbar” as they murder people.” 9/11 hijacker Mohamed Atta reminded himself to “shout, ‘Allahu Akbar,’ because this strikes fear in the hearts of the non-believers.”

And here it is in the Rancho Cucamonga High School yearbook, because they are tolerant, multicultural, diverse, and against “racism.” The Rancho Cucamonga High School yearbook contains no pages on Judaism, Christianity, Hinduism, Buddhism, etc. Why does it contain these pages on Islam? Because it is the prevailing view among Leftists today that Muslims are persecuted, harassed and discriminated against on a large scale in America today, and that this happens because of Americans’ ignorance of Islam.
