  1. Boulder approves ban on sale, possession of ‘assault weapons’

The Boulder City Council voted unanimously Tuesday night to advance a ban on the sale and possession of assault weapons, bump stocks and high-capacity magazines in the city.

In recent weeks, the terms and scope of the council’s proposed ban have been hotly debated, including at a multi-hour public hearing before the council April 5, during a street protest on Broadway and through hundreds of emails to the council from citizens.

  2. Revolution and Worse to Come

When legal bloodhounds and baying critics fail to take out Trump, what’s next? The Resistance wants Trump’s head — on the chopping block.

On the domestic and foreign fronts, the Trump administration has prompted economic growth and restored U.S. deterrence. Polls show increased consumer confidence, and in some, Trump himself has gained ground. Yet good news is bad news to the Resistance and its strange continued efforts to stop an elected president in a way it failed to do in the 2016 election.

Indeed, the aim of the so-called Resistance to Donald J. Trump is ending Trump’s presidency by any means necessary before the 2020 election. Or, barring that, it seeks to so delegitimize him that he becomes presidentially impotent. It has been only 16 months since Trump took office and, in the spirit of revolutionary fervor, almost everything has been tried to derail him. Now we are entering uncharted territory — at a time when otherwise the country is improving and the legal exposure of Trump’s opponents increases daily.

  3. Former CIA Chief Blames Trump for Creating “Post-Truth” World
But the intelligence world is totally complicit.

    ruth and post-truth.

Those of us who have spent a lot of time in archives, trying to piece together what actually happened, will love this story about forgeries in a French art museum:

More than half the paintings owned by a southern French museum are worthless fakes, and authorities fear more forgeries may be on display at other public galleries.

The small museum in Elne, dedicated to local artist Etienne Terrus, a contemporary of Henri Matisse, learned that 82 of its 140 works are fakes after art historian Eric Forcadea raised the alarm.

Forcadea noticed while helping to prepare an exhibit that some of the paintings attributed to the Terrus featured buildings built after his 1922 death.

So the museum was tricked, as were those who visited it and thought they’d learned something about art history. In the big picture, no big cheese, you may say, but this is an important story. It shows us that the “truth” can be falsified with astonishing ease and effect. Who knows how many “experts” looked at the forgeries without noticing the anachronism—buildings that didn’t exist during Terrus’ lifetime—until one careful scholar sounded the alarm.

General Michael Hayden, who once headed CIA and also NSA, needs to ponder this. Instead, he lashes out at (not surprisingly) President Trump in the New York Times for saying things Hayden believes are false. And he claims that Trump thereby jeopardizes the very quest for truth in America.

“We in the intelligence world have dealt with obstinate and argumentative presidents through the years,” Hayden intones. “But we have never served a president for whom ground truth really doesn’t matter.” So Hayden thinks that Trump has issued in a new era, which he dubs “post truth.”

We don’t get to the truth very often, especially, as General Hayden should know better than most, when it’s buried (or not there at all) in a pile of “intelligence” that has been amassed through means that are often illegal, and where the “sources” have many incentives to provide false information.

  4. Questions for Special Counsel Mueller
Turning the tables on President Trump’s interrogator-in-chief.
    May 3, 2018
    Lloyd Billingsley
Special Counsel and former FBI boss Robert Mueller is on record that President Trump is not a target of his investigation, yet the questions he wants to ask the president have now been leaked to the media. Since the questions are fully predictable and totally without significance, President Trump should not waste his time. On the other hand, the president, and all Americans, might pony up a few questions for Herr Mueller his own self.

Investigations normally pursue a crime. What crime, exactly, are you investigating? Given the time and money you have put in, the people have a right to know.

Special Counsel Mueller, if you operate in search of collusion, what statute, exactly, would you use to prosecute collusion? Please supply the numbers in the U.S. code.

Special Counsel Mueller, you have been called a man of great integrity. Why did you front-load your investigative team with highly partisan supporters of Hillary Clinton? Were independent, non-partisan lawyers not available?

If your target is Russian influence in general, Special Counsel Mueller, why are you not investigating the Clinton Foundation and its dealings with Russia? Have you consulted the book Clinton Cash?

  5. What the Caravan Shows We Have to Do to Protect America
Today, the United Nations controls our border.
    May 3, 2018
    Daniel Greenfield

The invading caravan from Central America finally reached the United States. Some members of the caravan crossed the border illegally and were arrested. Others may have made it through undetected.

Still others openly applied for asylum and had their applications processed at the San Ysidro port of entry at the border. They were selected by the radical anti-American group, Pueblo Sin Fronteras, as the best representatives of their invasion of the United States. Others just headed straight for the hills.

The Goat Canyon area has one of the biggest gaps and is a popular crossing spot for illegal migrants. There’s an 8-foot tall fence in poor condition and a woefully incomplete secondary fence. Fencing in the area dates back to Operation Gatekeeper in the 90s which reduced migrant traffic, but didn’t stop it. After leveling hills and building miles of fencing, the area is still a dangerous illegal alien magnet.

Chemical and sewage dumping from Mexico made parts of the area too hazardous to patrol. It’s so bad that Border Patrol personnel have become ill and an environmental group called off a cleanup because of the high fecal content. One agent experienced chemical burns in his lungs while checking a grate.

  6. She’s Back
The endlessly unlikable Hillary refuses to leave the stage.
    May 3, 2018
    Matthew Vadum

No matter how much sane Democrat strategists desperately want her to go away, Hillary Clinton refuses to leave the stage.

“As the 2020 presidential race ramps up, plenty of top Democrats we talk to would prefer new energy and faces to Clinton nostalgia/redemption,” Axios reports.

    That’s an understatement.

Eighteen months after the American people told Hillary exactly where to go, the soulless political operative the great William Safire called a “congenital liar,” is everywhere. Promoting her whiny What Happened memoir and hurting her party by keeping her almost innumerable misdeeds front and center. Likening Republicans to Klansmen and Nazis. Supporting the left-wing Resistance to President Trump. Embarrassing her fellow Democrats with her abusive rhetoric aimed at half of America.

In recent travels overseas, Hillary has been badmouthing President Trump and her fellow Americans. During a March visit to India, Hillary viciously unloaded on her enemies – in particular, the 63 million Americans who voted for President Trump in 2016. Ordinary Americans are pessimistic, racist, sexist hicks, she said.

“If you look at the map of the United States, there’s all that red in the middle where Trump won,” she said. “I won the places that are optimistic, diverse, dynamic, moving forward. And his whole campaign, ‘Make America Great Again,’ was looking backwards.”

    • No matter how much sane Democrat strategists desperately want her to go away, Hillary Clinton refuses to leave the stage.

This rips my heart out in so many ways that Einstein couldn’t count them.

  7. Israel Mounts Daring Operation Against Tehran

On Sunday, in the late evening hours, a mysterious explosion rocked an army base belonging to Bashar Assad’s 47th Brigade near the city of Hama. Other targets near Aleppo were also reportedly hit. The blast at Hama was so powerful that it generated massive seismic activity, registering 2.6 on the Richter magnitude scale according to the European Mediterranean Seismological Center.

But this was no earthquake. It was a precision military strike aimed at destroying a large cache of missiles recently airlifted by Tehran from Mehrabad airbase to Hama’s military airport, through Iraqi airspace. Iran effectively controls Baghdad making the task of illegally transporting contraband through Iraqi airspace a rather simple affair.

According to reports, the strike hit pay dirt, igniting a stockpile of some 200 rockets and missiles, including anti-aircraft missiles, and generating a series of enormous secondary explosions. According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, at least 40 pro-regime mercenaries were killed in the blasts and some 60 were wounded. The SOHR noted that the death toll could climb. The semi-official Iranian news agency INSA reported that at least 18 Iranians were killed including a commander, a claim swiftly denied by the Islamic Republic, which for obvious reasons doesn’t like to advertise its losses or show images of its elite troops coming home in body bags. Satellite images of the site taken shortly after the blasts revealed widespread destruction with at least 13 buildings either severely damaged or leveled entirely.

It’s a rant and a thoroughly justified one.

The biggest mistake that Republicans made was treating the entire process as justified or going on the defensive. It’s an illegitimate political operation. And former Trump aide Michael Caputo zeroes in on some of the machinations behind the scene. And, as contextual prep, here’s some of what Caputo is referencing.

  9. Greek Island Strikes to Protest EU Policy Leaving 15,000 Migrants Stranded (breitbart, May 3, 2018)

“A general strike virtually shut down the Greek island of Lesbos on Thursday as residents protested a European Union migration policy that has left thousands of asylum-seekers stranded here.

Most businesses, shops, cafes and local government offices were shuttered in the main town of Mytilene. The only sign of normality was that police officers were still on duty, and the local tax office was open.

Two protest rallies were planned later in the day when Tsipras was due to speak at a conference. Stores were also closed in protest on the nearby island of Chios.

More than 15,000 migrants and refugees remain stuck on Lesbos, Chios, and three other islands, most staying in severely overcrowded camps.

“Thousands of people are still living in appalling conditions with limited access to medical facilities,” the aid group Doctors Without Borders. Conditions at the largest refugee camp in Lesbos, the group said “were putting the health and lives of people stranded on the island at risk.”…”

Face it, how many of these misogynistic ‘immigrants’ want the word “Lesbos” anywhere within ten feet of their passport or entry papers?

  10. Two Injured, Dog Killed as Masked Gunman Opens Fire in Paris (breitbart, May 3, 2018)

“Gunshots were fired Thursday afternoon in the Hauts-de-Seine neighbourhood of Paris, striking two people and killing one dog.

The perpetrator of the act was described as a lone male wearing all black and a covering over his face. Firing a handgun, the assailant targeted a 23-year-old male walking his dog, reports Le Parisien.

The man was struck in the leg, while an 85-year-old woman, a passer-by, was also injured. That man’s dog was shot in the head and chest and is reported to have died.

It is not known whether the dog walker or the dog itself was the main target of the attack. No arrests have been made, and the local area in the Hauts-de-Seine district in the north-west of the city has been closed off by investigating officers.

    • NBC News –Feds monitored Trump lawyer Michael Cohen’s phones

It is not clear how long the monitoring of phone calls has been authorized.

EDITOR’S NOTE: Earlier today, NBC News reported that there was a wiretap on the phones of Michael Cohen, President Trump’s longtime personal attorney, citing two separate sources with knowledge of the legal proceedings involving Cohen.

But three senior U.S. officials now dispute that, saying that the monitoring of Cohen’s phones was limited to a log of calls, known as a pen register, not a wiretap where investigators can actually listen to calls.

NBC News has changed the headline and revised parts of the original article.

Federal investigators have monitored the phone lines of Michael Cohen, the longtime personal lawyer for President Donald Trump who is under investigation for a payment he made to an adult film star who alleged she had an affair with Trump, according to multiple senior officials and individuals with knowledge of the legal proceedings involving Cohen.

It is not clear how long the monitoring of phone calls has been authorized, but NBC News has learned it was in place in the weeks leading up to the raids on Cohen’s offices, hotel room, and home in early April, according to one person with direct knowledge.

The calls are logged by a machine called a pen register, which records the number of the phone that made the call and the number that received it, but does not record the contents of any conversation.

NBC News originally reported that Cohen’s phone lines had been wiretapped, meaning a judge had given investigators approval to listen to phone calls. Three senior U.S. officials now dispute that, saying the monitoring of the calls was limited to a log of calls.

At least one phone call between a phone line associated with Cohen and the White House was logged, the person said.

Previously, federal prosecutors in New York have said in court filings that they have conducted covert searches on multiple e-mail accounts maintained by Cohen.

Spokespeople for the U.S. Attorney’s Office and the FBI in New York declined comment.

After the raid, members of Trump’s legal team advised the president not to speak to Cohen, according to a person familiar with the discussion.

Two sources close to Trump’s attorney, Rudolph Giuliani, say he learned that days after the raid the president had made a call to Cohen, and told Trump never to call again out of concern the call was being recorded by prosecutors.

Giuliani told Fox News Wednesday night that Trump repaid Cohen the $130,000 he used to keep the adult film star, Stormy Daniels, from going public with allegations about her affair with Trump.

Giuliani is also described as having warned Trump that Cohen is likely to flip on him, something Trump pushed back on, telling Giuliani that he has known Cohen for years and expects him to be loyal, according to two sources with direct knowledge of the conversations.

Giuliani and a lawyer for Cohen, Steve Ryan, did not immediately respond to a request for comment. The White House referred NBC News to outside counsel.

It is unclear what incriminating information Cohen could give prosecutors on Trump, if he chose to cooperate. He represented Trump and the Trump Organization in its business dealings for nearly two decades before Trump became president. Special Counsel Robert Mueller is interested in any information that federal investigators in New York may pick up that would be relevant to his investigation into possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia.

Cohen has previously said publicly that he would invoke his Fifth Amendment rights if subpoenaed to avoid incriminating himself before a grand jury and there is no indication from public filings that Cohen is cooperating in the probe.

The Cohen investigation is being led by the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Manhattan and the FBI. Investigators are looking into the $130,000 transaction between Cohen and adult film star Stormy Daniels, also known as Stephanie Clifford, who allegedly had an affair with Trump more than a decade ago, and a reported payment of $150,000 from American Media Inc., publishers of the National Enquirer, to a second woman who allegedly had an affair with Trump, Playboy model Karen McDougal.

The White House has denied allegations of the affairs.

Investigators are also seeking information about the 2005 “Access Hollywood” tape in which Donald Trump was heard making vulgar boasts about women.

The bureau’s interest in the “Access Hollywood” tape, on which Trump bragged to host Billy Bush that he would grab women “by the p—y,” was first reported by the New York Times. “Access Hollywood” is an NBC Universal television program.

Material seized from Cohen’s office, hotel room and home included taped conversations, as well as cellphones and hard drives.

Cohen has asserted in court that much of the material gleaned in the raids should be protected from the eyes of prosecutors under attorney-client privilege.

  11. Foreign Collusion: Soros Group Uses Facebook Ads, Leaflet Drops to Interfere in UK Local Elections (breitbart, May 3, 2018)

“Far-left activist group HOPE Not Hate (HNH) has been campaigning in Britain’s local elections in support of the Labour party, using sponsored social media posts and leaflet drops in actions that may beg questions about the interference of foreign money in British politics.

The group – which has taken cash off billionaire banker and open-borders activist George Soros and had an income of nearly a million pounds in 2016 – has released leaflets promoting the policies of Labour, the Liberal Democrats, and Green party nationally, whilst appearing to mock UKIP and even the Tories.

And in the West Midlands town of Dudley, they had promised a “big” and “targeted” campaign, working directly with Labour Party activists and former politicians to target a UKIP candidate and “do whatever it takes to unseat” him.

They have deployed activists in the town to distribute their glossy, professional literature as well as funding a targeted Facebook advertising campaign against UKIP MEP and councillor for the Sedgely borough of Dudley, Bill Etheridge.

“We’re going to have a big campaign going on around Bill Etheridge. We’ve got some belting leaflets that are really funny but are also very true,” announced Joe Mulhall, a senior researcher at HNH, on the group’s podcast on the 27th of April.

“HOPE Not Hate is running a very targeting local campaign to oust him from Dudley Council… we don’t think that someone with his sort of values belongs on a local council,” he added…”

  12. Grabbing ‘territory’: China reportedly deploys area-denial missile systems to Spratly Islands
    By J.E. Dyer May 3, 2018

On 2 May, CNBC, citing officials with knowledge of U.S. intelligence, reported that China has deployed the type of medium-range missile systems to the Spratly Islands that would enable Beijing to deny safe operation to other nations in the South China Sea.

According to CNBC, China has put anti-ship cruise missiles (ASCMs), and surface-to-air missiles (SAMs) similar to the Russian S-300 system, on Fiery Cross Reef, Mischief Reef, and Subi Reef in the Spratly Islands.

I first previewed this move back in 2011, when China was preparing to move an oil drilling platform into the exclusive economic zone (EEZ) of the Philippines based on China’s excessive (unrecognized) island claims in the South China Sea. (Map at the end, below.)

At the time, although China had yet to develop the reefs she had staked out positions on in the Spratly archipelago, I presented this map showing what the Chinese military could achieve by placing the YJ-62 (“C602”) anti-ship cruise missile on the Chinese-occupied islands and reefs.

I stress that none of this threat coverage existed in 2011. The above map was my presentation of a worst-case scenario if China’s potential activities could be undertaken unabated. The actual threat-missile picture looked more like this, as 2011 transitioned into early 2016.

Richard: Please read the entire article and pay close attention to the maps, China placing area denial super sonic cruise missiles on the three reefs mentioned cmbined with their placement of anti aircraft and area denial cruise missiles on Islands up and down the Chinese coast gives them control of the South China Sea. They now control who sails into the South China Sea and what they carry to the nations they are not blockading.

Taiwan is cut off from anything the Red Chinese don’t want shipped to them unless the US is willing to force the passage with armed escort vessels that can defend the cargo ships. The same can be said about Nam then combine this move with the string of pearls that they are building to cut India off from sea trade and you get a very ugly picture.

Forget the Nobel Peace Prize for President Trump, it looks like North Korea and China are going to say they won’t go along with any effort to denuclearize the Korea’s.

I am thankful that the Iranian military assets in Syria have been degraded but were they taken down enough to keep the Middle East from exploding when China decides to start enforcing its new control of the South China Sea? Remember how closely tied China/North Korea and Iran are, what one has the other has and all are tied to the goal of destroying the US so they can take over hte world.

How much of this is being done with the approval and help of Putin? Is this China and Iran or is Putin in on the plan?

  13. Clinton fixer’s ‘second dossier’ was greeted with skepticism
By LU Staff May 2, 2018

Clinton operatives pushed a dossier during the 2016 presidential campaign that appeared to be a classic “rope-a-dope” scheme being peddled by purported Russian spies, according to a person who was briefed on the documents by one of the Clinton insiders during the 2016 presidential campaign.

The dossier in question was written by Cody Shearer, a notorious Clinton fixer. It was passed to the Department of State by Sidney Blumenthal, a friend of Shearer’s and another Clinton operative.

The eight-page document eventually made its way to the FBI through Christopher Steele, the former British spy who wrote a dossier of his own.

While the FBI is reportedly investigating the claims made in the Shearer memos, one person who discussed the document with Shearer during the campaign says it appeared at the time to be a ruse.

According to the source, who spoke to The Daily Caller News Foundation on condition of anonymity, Shearer claimed that members of Russia’s spy service, the FSB, had video tape of Trump engaged in sexually compromising acts.

  15. Turkey: Erdo?an’s World of Terrorists Includes Everyone but Terrorists

    by Burak Bekdil
    May 3, 2018 at 5:30 am

Many Middle East despots have historically accused the free world of being terrorists.

For Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood, for instance, the entire Western civilization is a terrorist machine programmed to spill Muslim blood. Turkey’s strongman, President Recep Tayyip Erdo?an, is no exception.

In an April speech Erdo?an, evidently overcome with amnesia regarding Turkey’s invasions of Northern Cyprus and, a few weeks ago, Syria’s Afrin, called Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu a “terrorist.” Erdo?an told party loyalists:

  16. Night of Blood: Muslim migrants go on murderous stabbing spree in Milan, Italy

A night of blood in Milan: a band of North Africans

Four different robberies between Cinisello Balsamo and Milan. Killed a homeless man. Three wounded people, there is also an English university student

Sergio Rame, Il Giornale, April 27, 2018 (thanks to Armaros):

They stopped them near the Central station . The carabinieri hunted them after last night, shortly after 2 am, they sow the panic by killing a Bengali, injuring a homeless man and stabbing a 21-year-old English student to rob her. “I was coming home – the young university told the military – they approached me and stole the iPhone” . It was in those excited seconds that the two North African clandestines inflicted a stab on her abdomen. A wound was superficial, so much so that initially the girl, perhaps still in terror, had not even noticed it.

Scope of the clinic Città Studi was medicated and changed from red to green code. Seeing the blood coming out of the clothes the friend, who was with her, immediately called the staff of the 118. Scattered to the clinic Città Studi was medicated and from red code has passed into green tails.
    The hunt for North Africans

It was a violent night that just passed in Milan . They left Cinisello and arrived in Milan. Two robberies and a fight that ended up in the blood with a death toll and two wounded. Victim a Bengali hit by some stabbing by the robbers. The English girl, student of the Catholic University, robbed of the cell phone and wounded, only slightly survived. The area targeted was, as often happens, the one adjacent to the Central Station and via Padova. The military immediately searched for a “battery” of North Africans , in particular a young man of about 35 years and an accomplice, both in all probability of Morocco, who wandered around the area. The compatibility of schedules between the aggression to the student, in via Gaffurio occurred around 2.10 ( look at the gallery ), and that to a Bengali, which took place around 2.30 in via Settembrini, immediately suggested that the episodes were connected to each other.

  17. President Trump’s personal lawyer Michael Cohen had his phones wiretapped by federal investigators, according to a new report by NBC News.

The report, citing one source with direct knowledge, said at least one call between the White House and a phone line associated with Cohen was intercepted.

SHOCK REPORT Feds Tapped Trump’s Lawyers Phone

According to NBC News, it is unclear how long the phone had been wiretapped or when it was authorized, but sources tell the outlet that it was in place leading up to an FBI raid on Cohen’s home and office last month.

The report comes as Cohen is under investigation for paying adult film-star Stormy Daniels $130,000 ahead of the 2016 presidential election to stay silent about her alleged affair with Trump.

  18. Canadian officials in Nigeria work with U.S. to stem asylum seekers (reuters, May 3, 2018)

“Canada has officials working with U.S. visa officers in Lagos, Nigeria, as Ottawa leans on its neighbor to stop issuing so many visas to Nigerians who then make refugee claims in Canada.

The Canadian government is trying to stem the flow of asylum seekers illegally walking across the U.S. border even as their ranks grow: About 2,500 asylum seekers crossed into Canada to file refugee claims in April, according to estimates from the federal immigration and refugee department — the highest level since August and almost triple last April’s figure.

More than 26,000 people illegally crossed the Canada-U.S. border in the past 15 months to file refugee claims.

The Canadian government says many of the more recent arrivals are Nigerians who arrived bearing valid U.S. visas after having spent very little time in the United States.

“It is apparent that they obtained those visas with the express intent to actually go to Canada. … We’ve been sharing that information with the United States with the view of preventing the abuse of U.S. visas,” a Canadian immigration department spokeswoman told Reuters in an email.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his ministers faced pointed questions this week after Reuters reported that Canada wants U.S. help turning back thousands of asylum seekers.

A Canadian official familiar with the matter told Reuters that Canada wants to amend a bilateral agreement to allow it to block border-crossing refugee claimants.

Canada has asked for this change “at least a dozen” times since September, the official said.

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security has said it is reviewing Canada’s proposal but has not made a decision.

Two Canadian officials have been sent to Lagos to work directly with their counterparts in the U.S. visa office, a spokeswoman for Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada said in an email on Wednesday.

The officials are “meeting regularly to exchange information on migration movements” with the aim of lowering the number of people who go through the United States to Canada using a U.S. visa.

Since June, Canadian police have intercepted more than 7,600 Nigerian asylum seekers, 81 percent of whom had a valid U.S. non-immigrant visa, the spokeswoman added.

A spokeswoman for the U.S. State Department wrote that “consular officers in the field often coordinate with our close partners from other countries to discuss matters of shared concern.” She did not elaborate on the role the Canadian officials are playing.

Trudeau’s government is under pressure to appear in control of the country’s border and refugee system while obeying Canadian law and maintaining its image as compassionate and welcoming of newcomers.”

  19. Controversial Islamic groups receive Canada Summer Jobs Grants

The controversial Canada Summer Jobs Grant program is funding an Islamic group with a history of supporting terror groups and another with a history of anti-gay rhetoric, the Sun has learned.

According to a government database listing recipients of the Canada Summer Jobs grant, both the Canada Arab Federation (CAF) and the Anatolia Islamic Centre have been approved for federal funding in 2018.

In 2009, CAF was de-funded by the federal government over the group’s extremism and support for terrorist groups – a decision made by the previous Harper Conservative government and backed up by a federal judge.

CAF had received a grant through the department of immigration to provide English lessons for newcomers, but the contract was pulled when then-immigration minister Jason Kenney found out about the funding.

Kenney wrote a letter to CAF informing them that funding would be pulled because of the group’s “promotion of hatred, anti-Semitism and support for the banned organizations Hamas and Hezbollah.”

Kenney said that CAF’s “president attacked (former Liberal leader) Bob Rae because his wife is Jewish.”

“From our point of view, these groups do not deserve and have no right to taxpayers’ dollars to promote their kind of extremism,” said Kenney.

The Canadian Arab Federation appealed the decision, but a Federal Court judge ruled in favour of the Harper government, determining that Kenney acted “reasonably” when he cut federal funds.

The Anatolia Islamic Centre also has a history of controversy. The Centre’s Imam made headlines in 2013 for anti-gay comments caught on tape.

Imam Mustafa Khattab was asked about homosexuality during a lecture at the Edmonton Islamic Academy. Khattab, who is still listed as “the Imam of the Anatolia Islamic Centre,” tells the room of young students that being gay is like having a disease that requires “a special treatment.”

“For me, someone who is homosexual is like someone who has diabetes or someone who has cancer or aids,” he said, noting he doesn’t like to be associated with gay people.

When the video surfaced, current Trudeau Liberal MP Kent Hehr called for the school to lose its $4 million in taxpayer funding.

“If you want to accept public dollars to fund your private school, then you have to follow the rules and regulations – it can’t be your own personal fiefdom to present your own values,” said Hehr, who was the Liberal provincial education critic in the Alberta legislature at the time.

Under the Trudeau government, the Canada Summer Jobs Grant has become controversial and something of a ‘value’s test’ for would-be recipients.

To be considered for this grant, groups must pledge to protect LGBT rights and to uphold a women’s choice to have an abortion. Many organizations, particularly religious groups who believe in the sanctity of life and oppose abortion, stated they could not morally sign the attestation and therefore lost access to this fund.

Summer camps, soup kitchens and homeless shelters that do not engage in religious or political activities have not received funding this year due to the Liberal attestation.

Neither the Canadian Arab Federation nor the Anatolia Islamic Centre immediately responded to questions from the Sun about their position on abortion or whether they signed the pro-abortion and pro-gay rights attestation.

According to, an authoritative source and digital Islamic Library Project, “in Islam, it is forbidden (haram) to abort the fetus.”

A Fatwa issued by the Islamic World League in 1990 stated that abortions are wrong and should be avoided, noting however that abortion can be permitted in some circumstances.

    • Anyone who thinks that Islam is the Master Race™ had best study Communist China. Whatever pressures that Muslims might seem to apply are mouse nuts compared to what happens when The Mainland gets up on its hind legs.

    • Hi, Eeyore and readers of Vladtepesblog,

There was an error when I submitted the online article.
The letter ? was missing in the name Erdo?an.

      Thank You.

      • This web page does not render the oddball European text character that appears in Erdogan’s name. To have articles post most clearly, just spell his name, “Erdogan”.

PS: I’m sure it makes him take the big piss…

  20. If Jesus Christ came back tomorrow the world would yawn. There is just too much noise on TV, Internet, social media and print. You’d have poor J.C busking miracles in the street for quarters.

Old-fashioned dictators must be rolling in their graves. It used to be every self-respecting tyrant had a Goebbels using state media, together with legacy media, for control of hearts and minds. If the leader was charismatic it was icing on the cake and the people followed.

Now it’s like herding cats. There is too much media competition for the lies of aspiring Hitlers like Obama and Hillary. Thanks to the internet, monopolists must work ever harder to gain control. Because of this they must lie more, lie bigger and lie better to capture soft minds and plastic hearts. They must also indoctrinate actual monopolists like Zuckerberg so their dirty work can be carried out.

I think this is the greatest epiphany of the Left in recent years and it was thanks to Bill Clinton. His world-class ability to bullshit his way through anything was not lost on his successors. Remember what the meaning of “is” is? This was a salient moment in American politics. Never had such a bold lie been put forth to so many. The true modern art of Bullshit in our age was born. The Democrats ran with it.

And while you can’t fool all of the people all of the time, it seems you can fool a little more than half of them. Thank goodness for the electoral college. Who voted for Hillary? Stupid people? Not all. Gullible? Indeed. And this won’t change. It may be a deeper human failing than our average understanding can follow for now . How we are dividing ourselves with decreasing civility is a wonder.

I always come back to the money. If there weren’t so much counterfiat floating around no one would be willing to finance the PoMo gravy train.

I take solice in this mathematical inevitability.
