When they say that people did not know that FaceBook apps would harvest all their info and all their friends’ info – they are simply wrong.
The ‘scandal’ that app makers were not limited by ‘privacy settings’ and were actively using this info ‘broke’ more than a decade ago. Which is why tech-aware people do NOT use FaceBook. EVER.
But back then, it was being sold to the likes of Obama, so it was not only seen as ‘not a problem’, but the media positively fawned over it and Obama’s ‘innovative’ and ‘clever’ use of social media.
Sad, how everybody is pretending this is ‘news’…
