Those are two very different things.”

Thiel also stated he has, “often said that our greatest political problem is the problem of political correctness, properly understood because that’s how we limit the debate — how we aren’t allowed to consider all the possibilities, and certainly I think the universities share a lot of blame for this. The education system shares a lot of blame.”

President Donald Trump’s eldest son narrowly escaped death when a rotor flew off a family-owned helicopter — and sources speculated the incident was hushed up to prevent exposing a terrorist plot!

Government documents obtained exclusively by RadarOnline.com reveal Donald Trump Jr. survived the incident thanks to the heroic pilot and two Secret Service agents on board.

The helicopter made a harrowing emergency landing on June 14, 2017 — yet another chilling example of the First Family under siege — and sources now believe the incident was intentionally kept quiet to deprive suspected saboteurs from publicizing their near-victory!

Jordan Peterson lambasted Twitter’s decision to suspend conservative comedian Steven Crowder.

Crowder was banned from the social media platform for a prank video. In the video, Crowder’s intern infiltrated a “gender fluid” LGBTQ event and mocked the attendees by “identifying” as a computer.

Peterson’s criticism centered around his belief that Twitter was infringing on free speech. “What the hell, Twitter?” the Canadian clinician tweeted on March 14. “This is NOT OK…He’s a satirical commentator, for God’s sake.”

  6. DESTROYING AN ICON: Hollywood Puts Leftist Spin On ‘To Kill A Mockingbird’ For Broadway

In 1962, Hollywood adapted Harper Lee’s masterpiece, “To Kill A Mockingbird,” for the screen in faithful-to-the-book fashion as written by Horton Foote. Although some less crucial characters were left out, the film elegantly captured the mood and characters from the novel, and became an instant classic, as Gregory Peck, in the role of his career, won an Oscar, and the supporting cast was nothing less than stellar.

But now, Hollywood has come calling again, and with its current habit of refashioning every story to fit its leftist political agenda, is messing with Lee’s work for a Broadway version of the story.

  7. Mark Levin: Anti-Gun Walkouts Showcase Public Educations Leftist Indoctrination
    Published on March 15, 2018

The widespread public demonstrations by high school students, Levin said, display a much deeper issue with American public education, mainly that it has become, in many ways, a vehicle to indoctrinate our schoolchildren with leftist ideas.

“These efforts in these schools are never to advance liberty or constitutionalism or private property rights or capitalism generally,” Levin remarked. “It’s always to advance the Left’s agenda.”

“These government schools have become propaganda mills,” Levin added, while noting many Americans have no choice but to send their children to these same schools, due to financial or time constraints.

“How did we get here?” Levin asked. “There’s been an effort underway, ladies and gentlemen, for 100 years” by the Left “to turn education into the advancement of the progressive ideology.” Following that statement, he gave a brief history of how leftist ideologues co-opted American public schools to turn them into government-funded vehicles for their own agenda.

Celebrated leading visionary bridge engineer Atorod Azizinamini, whose ABC (Accelerated Bridge Construction) technology was used to build the bridge that collapsed yesterday on Florida International University’s campus, was named an Obama era Department of Transportation ‘Champion of Change’ in 2015.

The event in which Azizinamini was awarded ‘Champion of Change’ status was webcast live at whitehouse.gov/live, no longer online.

The Orlando Weekly’s Xander Peters frames the story this way: “Orange County middle school teacher has an incredibly racist Twitter account.” According to Peters, this teacher “retweeted an anti-Muslim post by Identify [sic] Evropa, a white supremacist group that aims to create a white ethnostate.”

Neither the Orlando Weekly nor the Orlando Sentinel, which also covered the story of this “racist” teacher, shows you a photo of the offender. That is probably because the accused “racist” and “white supremacist” teacher, Sundai Brown, is a black woman.

  13. Inside the shady private equity firm run by Kerry and Biden’s kids

“My frustration,” writes Peter Schweizer in his new book, “Secret Empires: How the American Political Class Hides Corruption and Enriches Family and Friends,” “is not that the solid reporting on Trump has been too tough, but that the reporting on the Obama administration has been way too soft or in some cases nonexistent.” The author of the 2016 sensation “Clinton Cash” says Trump and his children didn’t invent the blurring of government and business, and details a number of ethical violations on both sides of the political aisle. One example: the little-noticed private equity firm run by the sons of Democrats Joe Biden and John Kerry, as detailed in this exclusive first excerpt.

Joe Biden and John Kerry have been pillars of the Washington establishment for more than 30 years. Biden is one of the most popular politicians in our nation’s capital.

His demeanor, sense of humor, and even his friendly gaffes have allowed him to form close relationships with both Democrats and Republicans. His public image is built around his “Lunch Bucket Joe” persona. As he reminds the American people on regular occasions, he has little wealth to show for his career, despite having reached the vice presidency.

One of his closest political allies in Washington is former senator and former Secretary of State John Kerry. “Lunch Bucket Joe” he ain’t; Kerry is more patrician than earthy. But the two men became close while serving for several decades together in the US Senate. The two “often talked on matters of foreign policy,” says Jules Witcover in his Biden biography.

So their sons going into business together in June 2009 was not exactly a bolt out of the blue.

But with whom their sons cut lucrative deals while the elder two were steering the ship of state is more of a surprise.

  14. Former FBI Assistant Director Chris Swecker said today that a highly anticipated report from the DOJ’s Inspector General Michael Horowitz will contain “some pure TNT.” Horowitz has been investigating the conduct of the FBI’s top brass surrounding the 2016 election for over a year. He also uncovered over 50,000 text messages between two anti-Trump / pro-Clinton FBI employees directly involved in the exoneration of Clinton and the counterintelligence operation launched against the Trump campaign.

Swecker: “The behavior if it’s manifested in the action with your thumb on the scale of a particular investigation, one way or the other, that’s borderline criminal behavior — manipulating an investigation. I think this IG report is going to be particularly impactful, more so than any of these useless congressional investigations. I think you’re going to see some pure TNT come out in this IG report.”

  15. Merkel contradicts interior minister, saying ‘Islam belongs to Germany’

The first major controversy of Germany’s new government broke out on Friday when Merkel was forced to contradict her new interior minister over the place of Islam in the country.
Germany’s newly inaugurated Interior Minister Horst Seehofer told Bild newspaper on Friday that he doesn’t believe the Islamic faith is part of German culture.

“Islam does not belong to Germany. Germany is characterized by Christianity. These aspects include shops being closed on Sundays, church holidays and rituals such as Easter, Pentecost and Christmas,” said the Christian Social Union (CSU) Bavarian leader.

“The Muslims who live with us obviously belong to Germany,” he stated, adding that “this does not mean we give up our country-specific traditions and customs out of a misplaced consideration for others.”

Seehofer recently vowed to speed up deportations of rejected asylum seekers in his new role, as his ministry is responsible for topics including migration. His comments highlight his intent to steer his CSU and the new government in a more conservative direction.

On Wednesday, almost six months after the election, Germany’s new government was finally confirmed under a coalition deal with Merkel’s Christian Democrats (CDU), the CSU and the Social Democrats (SPD). Merkel was only narrowly elected by the Bundestag to a fourth term as Chancellor.

“Islam doesn’t belong to Germany” was a key theme of the Alternative for Germany’s (AfD) party platform in September’s general election. The far-right party is now Germany’s largest opposition party in the Bundestag.

Seehofer’s statement also contrasts with that of Chancellor Angela Merkel, who since 2015 has repeatedly said that Islam belongs to Germany. Seehofer has long been one of Merkel’s harshest critics with regards her immigration and refugee policies.

Merkel quickly contradicted her minister, saying that despite Germany’s Judeo-Christian roots, more than four million Muslims now made their homes in the country.

“These Muslims are part of Germany and with them, their religion, Islam, is just as much a part of Germany,” she told reporters after talks with Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Lofven.

Despite Merkel’s intervention, Seehofer’s comments are likely to prove divisive in the fledgling right-left “grand coalition”, which only came together when the reluctant Social Democrats (SPD) got on board after months of political paralysis.

Most of Germany’s Muslims are descendants of Turkish so-called “guest workers” invited to Germany in the 1960s and 1970s.

The community grew again when Merkel in 2015 opened the border to more than one million asylum seekers from war-torn Muslim-majority countries such as Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan.

    ‘Completely superfluous controversy’
The premier of Lower Saxony, Stephan Weil of the SPD, dismissed Seehofer’s claim and accused him of sparking “a completely superfluous controversy” for Merkel.

The head of the Central Council of Muslims, Aiman Mazyek, said a minister who started work with such a “lack of solidarity” with minorities in Germany had “immediately disqualified” himself and acted “extremely irresponsibly”.

Jürgen Trittin of the opposition Greens also sharply criticized Seehofer, saying exclusion would be “catastrophic” for integration efforts and only benefit the anti-immigration, anti-Islam AfD.

The AfD for its part welcomed the remarks, with party member Andre Poggenburg claiming that Seehofer had “quoted word-for-word from our platform”.

Seehofer is taking the reins of an expanded ministry of interior and homeland affairs, now officially called the Interior, Construction and Heimat Ministry.

The German word Heimat – which roughly translates to home, heritage or homeland – is often used to describe a sense of familiarity or belonging. But it’s also a rather loaded political term in Germany, as seen in the controversial decision to create the Heimat Ministry within the Interior Ministry. It also brings up connotations with the Nazi era.

During his interview with Bild daily, Seehofer rejected criticism that the new German cabinet doesn’t include people with an immigrant background or people of colour.

  22. European powers propose new Iran sanctions to meet Trump ultimatum

(Reuters) – Britain, France and Germany have proposed fresh EU sanctions on Iran over its ballistic missiles and its role in Syria’s war, according to a confidential document, in a bid to persuade Washington to preserve the 2015 nuclear deal with Tehran.

The joint paper, seen by Reuters, was sent to European Union capitals on Friday, said two people familiar with the matter, to sound out support for such sanctions as they would need the support of all 28 EU member governments.

The proposal is part of an EU strategy to save the accord signed by world powers that curbs Tehran’s ability to develop nuclear weapons, namely by showing U.S. President Donald Trump that there are other ways to counter Iranian power abroad.

Trump delivered an ultimatum to the European signatories on Jan. 12. It said they must agree to “fix the terrible flaws of the Iran nuclear deal” – which was sealed under his predecessor Barack Obama – or he would refuse to extend U.S. sanctions relief on Iran. U.S. sanctions will resume unless Trump issues fresh “waivers” to suspend them on May 12.

“We will therefore be circulating in the coming days a list of persons and entities that we believe should be targeted in view of their publicly demonstrated roles,” the document said, referring to Iranian ballistic missile tests and Tehran’s role backing Syria’s government in the seven-year-old civil war.

The steps would go beyond what a U.S. State Department cable obtained by Reuters last month outlined as a path to satisfy Trump: simply committing to improving the nuclear deal.

    We're at War
    But we're not waging it.
    March 16, 2018
    Michael Ledeen

Matthew Continetti, a very thoughtful man, is trying to make sense of the current political moment. He spent some time at Stanford’s Hoover Institution, talked to some smart people, and came up with this:

Since 1992, however, the combinations have been all over the place. We have had united Democratic control and united Republican control, Republican presidents with Democratic Congresses and Democratic presidents with Republican Congresses, and both Republican and Democratic presidents with Congresses split between the parties. “The reestablishment of unified Democratic control under Bill Clinton,” writes Fiorina in his great new book, “began a two-decade-long (and counting) period of electoral outcomes that defy generalizations like those describing the three previous eras.”

Read the article. It’s unusually insightful. But when I see “1992,” I don’t think only about American elections. I think about the end of the Soviet Union, and with it a half-century of unusual history. I think that is the proper context for understanding what’s going on, both in America and throughout the world.

Most people think war is unusual and peace is the norm, but anyone who studies human history knows it’s the other way around. Mostly there’s war and the preparation for war, while peace, which is rare, only happens when someone wins a war and imposes conditions on the loser. Those conditions are usually codified in a “peace treaty,” and the parties resume preparation for the next war.

Or the Women’s March, whose leader was caught cheering on a Farrakhan speech in which the racist leader told black women that their husbands were fat because they were too lazy to cook.

The Strzok texts continue to be the gift that keeps on giving.

Newly redacted text messages discovered by congressional investigators reveal that an embattled FBI agent at the center of the Russia investigation controversy was close friends with a District of Columbia judge who recused himself from the criminal case over former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn, congressional members said, and text documents show.

The never before seen text messages, which were a part of the texts given to Congress by the Department of Justice, show that FBI Special Agent Peter Strzok and his paramour FBI attorney Lisa Page discussed Strzok’s relationship with U.S. District Court Judge Rudolph Contreras, who presided over a Dec. 1, 2017, hearing where former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI. Strzok was removed from Robert Mueller’s Special Counsel’s Office last year after anti-Trump text messages between him and his FBI agent lover were discovered by the DOJ’s Inspector General Michael Horowitz. But on Dec. 7, without warning, Judge Rudolph Contreras was removed as the presiding judge on Flynn’s case. Little information was given at the time as to why Contreras was removed.

Strzok: “….She brought up a good point about being circumspect in talking to him in terms of not placing him into a situation where he’d have to recuse himself.”

Page: “I can’t imagine you either one of you could talk about anything in detail meaningful enough to warrant recusal.” Page then goes back to discussing a different issue saying, “Anyway, maybe you meant to, but didn’t.’

Strzok: “Really? Rudy. I’m in charge of espionage for the FBI. Any espionage FISA comes before him, what should he do? Given his friend oversees them?”

  26. Bernie Sanders, Whose Kids are Running for Office, Wants to Talk About “Oligarchy”
    March 16, 2018
    Daniel Greenfield

A 1 Percenter Socialist wants to talk about oligarchy.

“The corporate media ignores the rise of oligarchy,” Bernie bloviates in the Guardian.

“The rapid rise of oligarchy and wealth and income inequality is the great moral, economic, and political issue of our time. Yet, it gets almost no coverage from the corporate media.”

The media actually covers little else. Its propaganda consists of gun control, racism and income inequality.

What gets little coverage are Bernie’s three homes, his 1 percenter status and how he made his money.

How often does the media discuss the reality that our society today is more unequal than at any time since the 1920s with the top 0.1% now owning almost as much wealth as the bottom 90%

    Constantly.

  27. Will Trump Play North Korea’s Rigged Game?
A cautionary note about the game the Kims have been playing for three generations,
    March 16, 2018
    Bruce Thornton

The buzz about President Trump’s possible meeting with North Korean strongman Kim Jong-un has been followed by the usual Trumpophobe disdain matched by Trumpophile enthusiasm. But if this recent talk of an unprecedented presidential face-to-face negotiation with Kim turns into a reality, don’t expect much other than photo-ops and diplomatic clichés like “progress” and “productive,” with nothing meaningful accomplished. The Kim dynasty has been playing this game for three generations, and have become masters of exploiting the West’s diplomatic magical thinking that talk alone can stop a determined aggressor.

We know that Trump considers himself a master negotiator, eager to solve intractable foreign policy conflicts. Getting the Norks to denuclearize would be “the greatest deal in the world,” as the president said, something he reminds us his three predecessors could not accomplish. Perhaps the time is ripe. Kim may be feeling pressure from economic sanctions, especially since China has supported U.N. sanctions on their regional pit-bull. Or maybe Kim takes seriously Trump’s “fire and fury” threats, considering that the unconventional Trump may be a Nixonian “crazy” man who just might act on his bluster.

  28. EU to Poke a Big Hole in Google’s Internet Monopoly
    March 16, 2018
    Daniel Greenfield

The EU vs. Google is very much an Alien vs. Predator scenario. But, not being a European, I currently find Google a lot scarier than the European Union. And the EU seems to be the only force pushing back against Google’s troubling monopolistic power over the internet. This latest proposal also shows why Google’s unquestionable dominance is so troubling.

<blockquoteAccording to a report from Reuters, the European Commission has proposed new rules that will require search engines, commerce sites and online platforms to explain how they rank results and to reveal why companies are penalized or removed from listings or results.

The stated intention is to bring more transparency to these companies’ operations and help smaller competitors better understand what they’re required to do to appear and rank. It’s designed to redress the “superior bargaining power” of the large internet brands, according to language quoted by Reuters.

While the proposal apparently “will not force companies to disclose their algorithms,” it will require descriptions and explanations of “how and to what extent the relevant ranking mechanism takes account of the quality of the products and services offered.”

    Google will be more unhappy.

  29. The Halabja Genocide 30 Years After
Kurdish victims now seek justice through the courts.
    March 16, 2018
    Kenneth R. Timmerman

On March 16, 1988, after sustained shelling and aerial bombardments had driven most of the inhabitants of the Kurdish town of Halabja into their basements, Saddam Hussein ordered his air force to change munitions – and missions.

Instead of softening up the Kurdish town for an assault by Iraqi government troops, the air force now planned exterminate the population using chemical weapons.

One survivor, Kherwan, said he remembered smelling “an aroma that reminded me of apples” shortly before losing consciousness. “When I awoke, there were hundreds of bodies scattered around me.”

Mothers were later found lying in the streets, wrapped around their dead infants; some had died cradling their children to keep them from falling.

Today, thirty years later, the surviving victims continue to remember the horrors of that day and those they lost.

Zimnako Mohammad Ahmed was just three months old when his mother tried to carry him to safety in the nearby mountains and fell unconscious in the darkness. Iranian soldiers found him the next morning and took him to Tehran for treatment, and ultimately, adoption.

  30. The Growing Iranian Cyber Security Threat
The most underestimated weapon in Iran’s arsenal.
    March 16, 2018
    Ari Lieberman

When it comes to cyber security, much attention has been focused on Russia due to that nation’s recent cyber efforts to interfere with the 2016 general election. This includes the creation of bots to spread fake news as well as attempts to penetrate voter registration rolls. China too is active in this new realm of virtual warfare engaging in systematic efforts to steal Western technology. China’s J-20 and J-31 fifth generation jet fighters are said to be based on stealth technology stolen from the United States. China also hacked into U.S. Steel’s computers and stole trade secrets for advanced, high-strength steel and then incorporated that technology in its own manufacturing processes. Other bad actors include North Korea which, in 2014, infamously hacked Sony Pictures Entertainment and also engaged in attempts to digitally loot banking institutions including an unsuccessful effort to loot the Federal Reserve to the tune of $1 billion.

But when it comes to mischief-making, it’s a sure bet that the Islamic Republic is lurking and cyber terrorism is no exception. While Iran’s cyber hacking operatives have not reached the level of sophistication and capability of their Russian and Chinese partners in crime, they are very active in this new area of virtual warfare and are learning quickly.

Iran first connected to the internet in 1992, and by 2000, most Iranians were connected to the information superhighway in some form. Iranian cyber terrorists operating at the behest of the regime initially focused their activities internally; spying on dissidents and those deemed to be headaches for the regime but soon exported their mischief globally.

  31. Furious, Deported Malian Migrants Stone Algeria’s Embassy In Mali (moroccoworldnews, Mar 16, 2018)
    https://www.moroccoworldnews.com/2018/03/242541/furious-deported-malian-migrants-stone-algerias-embassy-in-mali/

“In what some local media outlets have compared to the fury that led young Iranians to take the American embassy hostage in 1979, dozens of angry deported Malian migrants recently stormed the Algerian embassy in Bamako, attacking the building with stones and leaving the building in ruins.

The incident is said to be a follow up of the expulsion of 94 Malian migrants from Algerian territory last week. Armed with stones and some other metallic materials, the angry deported migrants took out their anger, fury, and frustration at the North African country’s diplomatic representation in their country, hoping that this desperate act would send signals as to what the general mood is regarding Algeria’s mistreatment of sub-Saharan migrants.

According to reports, constant police patrols and administrative humiliations are not the only things that sub-Saharan migrants suffer from in Algeria. Some of them—generally Guineans, Malians, Nigeriens, Ivoirians.—are said to be “thrown to the desert”: abandoned in no-man’s land of militia and terrorist groups in the desert between Mali and Algeria.

Some of the expelled Malian migrants have confirmed this fate. Despite overwhelming criticism at the inhumanity of Algeria’s policy vis-à-vis sub-Saharan migrants, the North African country is nowhere near ready to mend its ways, and maintains its harsh and repellent migration policy, especially towards sub-Saharans.

Last week, another 120 individuals were stranded in Bordj Badji Mokhtar, forced to walk 2 days before reaching Malian provinces. The incident at the Algerian embassy in Bamako, incensed protesters to make a statement that Africa and the AU should have made to Algerian officials long ago: membership in the continental union demands that fellow Africans be treated with respect and dignity.”

  33. MEMRI TV – Al Jazeera TV Report on Boom in Gaza Consumer Enterprises

Al-Jazeera took a look at the booming consumer economy of Gaza in a recent episode of its “Economy and the People” show.

Footage from shopping malls, restaurants, and tourist resorts shows that business is thriving.

According to the investors and businessmen interviewed, this type of project is attractive because of the promise of quick profits and the low risks involved, but they cited the closure of the border crossings as a major factor impeding development and pinned their hopes on Fatah-Hamas reconciliation, which would lead to an amelioration of the circumstances in Gaza and to rising profits. The report aired on November 26, 2017
