  1. Trump orders Pentagon to ready ‘FATHER OF ALL BOMBS’ for use against North Korea – DAILY NEWS

    • There are several mistakes in this report including the idea that the B2 is the only bomber we have that can deliver the deep perpetrator.

I don’t know when the Trump Administration has set as the last day we can wait before we hit North Korea. This whole mess as created by Bill Clinton, Jimmy Carter, George W. Bush and Obama. All of them kicked the nuclear can down the road and in the case of Obama and Clinton they paid money to North Korea to stop the development of nukes. Money that at least part of it was spend in the development of nukes.

This mess is complicated by the close ties between North Korea and Iran, with the very real possibility/probability that Iran has paid for several of the nuclear tests and that they are Iranian designs. Both nations have missiles that are similar enough that when one nation miniaturizes a nuke small enough to mate with the missile the other will also have the small nuke.

Now we get to the nasty part China, China is the wild card in the game, what are they going to do when we hit North Korea? Anyone with any brains knows that we can’t just drop deep perpetrators on the nuclear facilities and leave the rest of Korea alone or the Kim family in power. When we move we are going to have to move fast, hard and with overwhelming force, probably by using US and South Korean special operations personal to take out the missile and nuclear facilities while seizing control of the existing nukes. At the same time South Korean forces will move over the DMZ and move to relieve the forces we have already inserted. If I were the commanding General I would use paratroops to seize airfields near the locations where the Special Forces are in control and use them to bring in massive reinforcements so they can hold on until the South Koreans can reach their locations. Now what will China be doing? China is in a nasty position, if they move to help North Korea they are facing the US and our allies in that region. Japan has a very professional Navy that can on its own do massive damage to the Chinese Navy. Combine this with the threat of India moving on China (and Pakistan, Pakistan won’t set still if India and China are fighting they will come to the aid of their patron/protector) but what will Taiwan, Nam Singapore, the Philippines and Indonesia be doing? All of the above have had massive problems with China and would like to remove the threat to their independence that is an expanding China. It has been centuries since China was in the mood and position to expand the areas they control.

Don’t look at what is happening in North Korea and what is happening between India and China/Pakistan as being separate problems. They are joined at the hip and so are the North Korean/Iranian nuclear/missile programs/problems. We in the west tend to think of each problem as being separate when often the are all part of one big problem. Think globally and act locally is what we have to do.

For that matter what will Trukey do if/when we have to remove North Korea? What will the Islamic Invaders in Europe do? Add in the fact that Merkel has said Germany is going to send their forces outside of Germany in assistance programs. This will weaken an already weak Germany.

        • Maybe, that depends on how scared their President is, we won’t have time to move our own troops and tanks in place before the attack so we will need their troops. The good thing is that under the cease fire agreement in time of war with North Korea their military is placed under the US command. In theory all we need to do is send orders to the South Korean military and cut their politicians out of the loops. In practice we need some if not most of their politicians supporting us. Their military will be very enthusiastic because they want to liberate their family members in the North.

There are many variables going both ways so the timing will be vital, we will have to keep what we are doing quiet so the best time would be during a training exercise. This is why North Korea gets so upset when we hold training exercises, they think South Korea will cooperate.

          • Excellent analysis, Richard. Communist China’s lack of transparency is the overall problem. So long as Beijing’s agendas remain hidden, the West will necessarily have to over-react.

Getting the rest of the Asian “eggs” (e.g., Viet Nam, and India) into this strategic basket is the key to ensuring that America does not bear the full brunt of this massive containment exercise.

As you yourself point out, in the long run, this is all about Red China. Pakistan, India, and North Korea are all just pimples on the Chicom’s @ss.

  2. You see, these two Miramar SWAT team members were “suspended indefinitely” because they responded to the shooting at Stoneman Douglas HS in Parkland, Fla. That’s right … they’re suspended because they, you know, tried to protect the kids. From the Sun-Sentinel:

When a gunman started shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, two Miramar SWAT team members did what comes naturally: They went to help.

Now they’ve been suspended for it.

The officers did not have permission to respond to the shooting at Parkland on Feb. 14, when 17 people were killed.

    https://twitchy.com/gregp-3534/2018/03/08/wtf-florida-two-miramar-swat-officers-suspended-over-parkland-shooting-but-not-for-what-you-think/

    • … two Miramar SWAT team members were “suspended indefinitely” because they responded to the shooting at Stoneman Douglas HS in Parkland, Fla.

Why does this entire event read like an X Files episode? Young shooter in full body armor given extra minutes of mayhem by a stand-down of responding officers, one student in a bullet-proof vest, and now suspended SWAT team members … YJCMTSU!!!

Take a good gander folks, because this is what following the Liberal Narrative™ looks like and it’s not very pretty. What it will take to obtain a future that is free of this party-line obfuscation and titty-fingered political juggling is a principal question that faces every last Western person who values their freedom.

  3. BREITBART – Watch: Hungarian Minister Censored by Facebook for Claiming Mass Migration Had Raised Crime Levels

János Lázár’s video, which claimed migrants had made Vienna more dangerous and dirtier, was removed by social media giant Facebook after a massive backlash.

In the video, in which Lázár appears to be visiting the heavily migrant-populated Favoriten district of the Austrian capital, the Hungarian minister said: “It’s clear that the roads are dirtier, the environment is poorer, and the crime rate is much higher,” noting there were few non-European migrants in the area 20 years before.

  4. BREITBART – Sri Lankan Migrants Scalp Man and Cut Off His Arm in Paris Restaurant

In what has been described as a dispute between rival Sri Lankan migrants, two men attacked another with a machete, scalping him and cutting off his arm in a Paris restaurant.
The attack occurred on Monday evening at a restaurant in the 10th arrondissement of the city not far from the heavily migrant populated area of La Chapelle in northern Paris, broadcaster RTL reports.

Two attackers, both wearing hoodies and covering their faces, were said to have stormed into the establishment at around 9:30 pm armed with a machete and a sabre. The pair immediately attacked the victim, cutting at his scalp as well as cutting off one of his hands and his arm.

        • Moslems are now at 10%. Lots of them claim “Rohingya” status, i.e. pet victim group now that the bloom is wearing off the “Palis”.

Sri Lanka needs an extra Rohingya breeding pool like it needs cholera. They’re already desacrating temples, doing aggressive dawa, raping and claiming Hindu and Buddhist children as booty.

I’ve been doing a deep dive into Burmese newspapers in English. They get it perfectly. They get the Chinese too. That’s geopolitics at the human level. Hard to be dispassionate reading such well-articulated position papers.

          • China and India recently had a face off over Sri Lanka, that entire region is a tender box soaked in kerosene waiting for a match.

          • I’ve been doing a deep dive into Burmese newspapers in English. They get it perfectly. They get the Chinese too. That’s geopolitics at the human level. Hard to be dispassionate reading such well-articulated position papers.

Dear yucki, please oh please consider posting a synopsis of your readings here at Vlad Tepes Blog. The whole Rohingya-manufactured-crisis-thingy has become Islam’s go-to poster child when it comes to establishing and maintaining its most modern (and highly-prized) victim status.

Muslims must parade around some sort of massive running sore like this Myanmar crisis in order to distract world attention away from The Rape of Europe™, continuing FGM, ongoing slavery, grooming gangs, child marriage, along with so much daily violence and so many ongoing global conflicts that a complete list would become disturbingly boring.

Any concise write-up of this Asian dog’s breakfast would be of immense value when it comes to having at hand a regular reply or point about “prominent” issues like these.

Personally, I view the whole Rohingya “crisis” as being on a par with Turkey’s entire 2016 “coup attempt” in terms of being manufactured events. Whatever extra input you might provide would be of inestimable value.

  5. The Clinton Dossier Gang That Knew Nothing
They don’t know anything. Not a thing.
    March 8, 2018
    Daniel Greenfield

“I know nothing,” isn’t just the motto of Sergeant Schultz. It’s also the Clinton motto. And Christopher Steele, the Brit whom the Clinton campaign hired to find out things for them, also knows nothing.

Or at least that’s the theme of the sprawling New Yorker profile of Steele, his dossier and his associates.

Steele, Jane Mayer, its authoress, tells us, is a brilliant researcher and we should take his word about all his allegations involving President Trump. Even the ones that aren’t true and don’t make any sense.

    But he doesn’t know anything.

Take the Cody Shearer memo, the document authored by a Clinton plumber and which Steele passed along to the FBI as confirmation of his claims. The existence of the Shearer memo raised serious questions about whether the Clintons weren’t just paying Steele to dig up dirt, but were providing it. Some have speculated that Shearer’s smears were the original basis for Steele’s dossier.

    But wait a minute.

  6. Facebook’s Digital Reign of Terror
Social media website rejiggers the rules to rob Trump of almost half of his online traffic.
    March 8, 2018
    Matthew Vadum

Social media behemoth Facebook launched a full-scale assault on President Donald Trump and conservatives earlier this year that has seen engagement on Trump’s Facebook posts plummet by 45 percent.

The crackdown on conservatives and the Republican Party’s standard-bearer came after a year of unyielding pressure from the mainstream media, politicians, and Facebook employees after President Trump’s stunning electoral upset in November 2016. The Left’s farfetched Russia-Trump electoral collusion conspiracy theory scapegoated Facebook, claiming the website spread Russian propaganda and fake news that helped Trump beat the yet-to-be-indicted Hillary Clinton.

No less a personage from the anti-Trump resistance movement than former President Barack Obama lobbied Facebook’s CEO to play rough and dirty with conservatives. At a poverty conference in South America a few days after the 2016 vote, Obama leaned on a then-skeptical Mark Zuckerberg to do something, presumably to help take his fingerprints off the electoral collusion hoax.

  7. VICE News – This Is What ISIS Leaves Behind: VICE on HBO, Full Segment

As a major stronghold of ISIS in its brutal sweep across Iraq, the city of Mosul has been central in the war to defeat the terror group.

Iraqi forces began their campaign to crush ISIS in October 2016 just outside of Erbil, with a coalition of Kurdish peshmerga forces, and Western advisory allies. It was a long and arduous process of slowly advancing first from town to town along the Nineveh plains toward the city and then from block to block as they worked to liberate sectors of the city.

  11. VICE NEWS – Year of The Dog: Inside The World’s Largest Human Migration

Chinese New Year isn’t just a holiday. It’s the largest annual human migration on Earth. And to Yang Jianguo and Liu Mingchun, it’s the only time they get to reunite with their children 1,000 miles away.

For decades, migrant workers like Yang have been the engine of China’s spectacular economic boom. But while their work is welcome, their children are not. The high cost of living and strict city regulations make essentials like schooling and healthcare difficult to access, and families, like Yang’s, often separate. An estimated 61 million “left-behind children” only see their parents once a year during paid time-off for the Chinese New Year.

“Because we have to spend four days on the road, ” said Liu, “The only time we could get two weeks off is during the Chinese New Year, that’s when we can go home.”

Yang left his rural home in Sichuan at the age of 20 in 1997 and became one of 287 million Chinese migrant workers who moved across country for a better life. After dropping out of high school, he became a farmer, just like his parents. Then one day, his uncle gave him the opportunity to work at an urban clothing factory in Shenzhen.

“If I raise a pig in our home village, I’d have to wait for six months before I can sell it to make money, there’s no immediate income ” Yang said. “In Shenzhen, we get paid every month.”

Today, Yang and his wife Liu are among nearly 8 million migrants living in Shenzhen, a major financial center in China that links Hong Kong to its mainland. There, two thirds of the population lives without residency registration in the city, which prevents them from getting the same level of healthcare, education, and social security as urban residents.

When Yang and Liu’s kids were born, the young couple had full time jobs and lived in a company dormroom too small to raise them. Coupled with the other challenges of city life, Yang and Liu had to leave both children as infants back in their old village with grandparents, thousands of miles away. The two kids are now 9 and 15 years old.

VICE News followed the couple on a 30-hour train ride from Shenzhen to their home in Sichuan for their yearly family reunion.

  12. CBS, NBC Ignore Failed School Bombing by ISIS-Inspired Student, ABC Downplayed

In the wake of any school shooting, the liberal media trip over themselves in a mad dash to cram their gun control agenda down America’s throat. Damn be the facts as they glorify those who push gun control and ignore anything that doesn’t fit the agenda. While major liberal network news outlets (ABC, CBS, and NBC) had hyperventilated about AR-15’s on their morning and evening shows, they either ignored or downplayed a recent failed bombing at a Utah high school by a student drawn to ISIS.

According to an Associated Press report that NBC republished online, a student at Pine View High School in St. George, Utah was arrest Monday night after a bomb he planted in the school failed to detonate.

“A teenage student at a southern Utah high school has been charged with bringing a homemade bomb to the school that was discovered in a backpack emitting smoke and prompted an evacuation,” the AP reported. “No one was hurt Monday after the backpack was found in a common area of the school by a student who reported it to a teacher.”

  13. Gowdy, Goodlatte demand appointment of special counsel, citing FISA abuses

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte and Rep. Trey Gowdy on Tuesday demanded the appointment of a special counsel to investigate “conflicts of interest” and decisions “made and not made” by current and former Justice Department officials in 2016 and 2017, noting that “the public interest requires” the action.

Gowdy, R-S.C., and Goodlatte, R-Va., penned a letter Tuesday to Attorney General Jeff Sessions and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein.

“Matters have arisen—both recently and otherwise—which necessitate the appointment of a Special Counsel. We do not make this observation and attendant request lightly,” Gowdy and Goodlatte wrote.

In an exclusive interview with Fox News, Gowdy and Goodlatte spoke about the discovery of new information as their reasoning behind calling for a second independent counsel.

“What changed for me was the knowledge that there are two dozen witnesses that Michael Horowitz, the [DOJ] Inspector General, would not have access to,” Gowdy said. “When I counted up 24 witnesses that he would not be able to access were he to investigate it, yeah only one conclusion, that’s special counsel.”

  14. Former Presidential Candidate Under NEW Investigation

According to journalist Sarah Carter, the House Intelligence Committee is investigating former Secretary of State John Kerry over his possible role in the unverified anti-Trump dossier at the heart of the FBI’s Russia probe.

The documents, colloquially known as the Steele Dossier, after Christopher Steele, the ex-British spy behind it – was funded by the Democratic National Committee and Hillary Clinton campaign.

The Committee began quietly digging into Kerry’s connections after a former colleague and friend published and an op-ed in the Washington Post detailing his friendship with Steele.

  15. Trey Gowdy got his hands on secret documents that Eric Holder tried to bury

Eric Holder got the news he was dreading.

Trey Gowdy finally got his hands on secret documents Obama’s Attorney General hoped would never see the light of day.

And they could finally reveal the truth about one of the worst scandals of the Obama administration.

Barack Obama recently made news when he claimed his administration was scandal free.

Critics quickly pointed out the Fast and Furious scandal from early in Obama’s first term.

The administration ran guns to Mexican drug cartels so the viscous killers and dope dealers could create chaos that they could later exploit to rationalize new gun control.

Disaster stuck when two border patrol agents were killed with weapons from this debacle.

When Congressional Republicans investigated the matter, former Attorney General Eric Holder stonewalled them.

He expended so much energy concealing the truth that he was eventually cited for contempt of Congress.

But now House Oversight Committee Chairman Trey Gowdy has finally won a victory.

The Department of Justice has turned over the long-ago requested documents.

  16. Here’s What China’s Doing to US Colleges

Fun fact: China spent $6.8 Billion on foreign propaganda in 2016, according to the Central Intelligence Agency. That money is spent in multiple ways, but’s it’s the money they spend in the United States that should trouble you. The People’s Republic of China not only spends money to maintain the brainwashing of Chinese students at American universities, but also spends money to influence the thinking of Americans on campus.

Foreign Policy Magazine wrote a lengthy article about the influence the Chinese government has upon “Chinese Students and Scholars Associations” (CSSAs). The Chinese government exploits our freedom to maintain ideological conformity among Chinese students, lest they return to China with dangerous western notions that would undermine the regime. They do so because the Foreign Agents Registration Act, passed to curtail covert influence from Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union in the United States, exempts academic organizations.

There is no way to overstate this. A professor from Snodfart … er, Stanford University published a book about his travels in Communist China, including sensitive data about that nation’s almost unique level of (rural versus urban) wage disparity. Shortly thereafter, his funding dried up and I cannot find his writings online (his book is buried in my literary morgue).

“An Irish government plan to address population growth isn’t an outline for “nation-destruction” that will bring in 1 million immigrants from Muslim countries, as claimed by several false stories circulating online.

The plan to address growth doesn’t specify countries where immigrants would come from, nor their religions.

Several websites tie all projected increases in the Ireland 2040 plan to immigrants — “likely Muslims” — from Afghanistan, Africa, the Middle East and Pakistan — and claim the prime minister, Taoiseach Leo Varadkar, is an “ethnic Indian.” The prime minister is the son of a Hindu doctor from India and an Irish nurse.

The sites said Varadkar was talking about the migration of more than a million people when he said, “It’s our big vision for how we want to reshape Ireland.”

The plan describes projected growth of around 1.1 million over 22 years. The leading nationalities of people moving to Ireland in the year before the country’s most recent census in 2016 were returning Irish citizens, followed by people from the United Kingdom and those from Brazil.

The quote attributed to Varadkar is accurate, but he did not say it in speaking of immigration. Varadkar tweeted that remark Feb. 16 about the plan as a whole, just before the government released it.”

A total of 157 vehicles, 387 motorcycles and an SUV were confiscated, as well as quantities of explosives.

Sixteen members of the armed forces were killed, while 16 others were wounded while carrying out their duties in the operation.

  23. RACIAL QUOTAS KILL KIDS
Obama’s dangerous school discipline policies are at not just reaping consequences in Parkland.
    March 8, 2018
    Ann Coulter

President Obama did a lot of bad things, but pound for pound, one of the worst was the January 2014 “Dear Colleague” letter sent jointly by his Education and Justice Departments to all public schools threatening lawsuits over racial discrimination in student discipline. The letter came after years of his administration browbeating schools for their failure to discipline every race of student at the same rate.

As the Huffington Post put it: “American Schools Are STILL Racist, Government Report Finds.” The evidence? “Five percent of white students were suspended annually, compared with 16 percent of black students, according to the report.” Q.E.D.

According to theory, there’s NO WAY blacks and Hispanics are doing things that require more school discipline than whites or Asians. So if more black students are expelled than Asians, well, gentlemen, we have our proof of racism. To comply, schools would have to stop suspending black kids for breaking a teacher’s jaw, but suspend Asians for dropping an eraser.

  24. Majority 18-34 Oppose Rifle Ban, 65+ Support

A major reason for trotting out the Parkland students had nothing to do with victimhood. The senescent bosses of the left always dress up their cause in youthful human shields. Behind the young black men throwing rocks is George Soros or Eric Holder. Behind the screaming environmental co-eds is Tom Steyer or Al Gore.

The left wants to be seen as the youthful cause and the voice of a new generation. But the new generation has its own ideas.

In the new Quinnipiac poll, support for Trump and Republicans tends to increase with age and drop with youth. That’s fairly routine. Stupid ideas are much more likely to be accepted by people with no life experience. And political extremism spikes when you have no concept of consequences.

But here’s where it gets interesting.

The 18-34 demographic has the worst opinion of the NRA, but its support for gun control is on the weak side, and when asked, “Do you support or oppose a nationwide ban on the sale of assault weapons?”, they split almost evenly. That’s in contrast to 80% support among the 65+.

  26. BBC – Austria attack: Muslim man admits Vienna stabbings

Police in Austria say a 23-year-old man has admitted carrying out knife attacks in Vienna which left four people seriously injured on Wednesday evening.

The man, an Afghan national, has denied a political motive for the attacks.

Three members of the same family were hurt in the first attack at Nestroyplatz at 19:45 (18:45 GMT) and an unrelated man, 20, was stabbed nearby around half an hour later.

The suspect reportedly told police he had been in a “bad, aggressive mood”.

The 23-year-old said he had attacked the family – parents and a teenage daughter – because he was angry about his situation in life, Vienna police said in a statement (in German).

He said he had attacked the 20-year-old man, an acquaintance, because he held him responsible for his past drug addiction, the police added.

The fourth victim is a fellow Afghan national, local media report. Earlier reports had said he was from Chechnya.

The father of the family, who is 67, remains in a critical condition in hospital.

The lives of the mother, 56, and 17-year-old daughter, as well as the 20-year-old unrelated victim, are now out of danger.

The suspect categorically denied a political motivation when questioned, police said.

“An Alabama man has pleaded guilty to plotting to help the Islamic State group.

According to the plea agreement, Sayyed, who lives in Huntsville, told people he wanted to attack police stations or the Redstone Arsenal military installation. He was arrested after discussing his plans with an undercover FBI agent.”

    http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/turkish-court-sentences-musician-journalists-terror-53610426

“A court on Thursday convicted a musician-turned-newspaper columnist of “knowingly and willingly” aiding the network led by U.S.-based Mulim cleric Fethullah Gulen and sentenced him to three years and one month in prison, Turkey’s state-run news agency reported.

Singer Atilla Tas, who wrote a newspaper column and became a social media phenomenon for posting satirical tweets about President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, was on trial along with 28 other defendants — mostly journalists — accused of having links to Gulen, whom Turkey blames for a 2016 failed coup attempt. Gulen rejects the accusation.

The court in Istanbul also convicted journalist Murat Aksoy of aiding Gulen’s group and sentenced him to two years and one month in prison. Other defendants were convicted of membership in a “terror organization” and were given prison sentences ranging between six and seven-and-a-half years, Anadolu Agency reported.

One defendant was acquitted while no verdict was issued against three defendants who are on the run and were on trial in absentia. They include Said Sefa who allegedly used the pseudonym Fuat Avni on Twitter to post taunting anti-Erdogan tweets and provided alleged insider information on the government.

The defendants, many of whom worked for media companies associated with Gulen, were expected to appeal the court’s ruling…”

  29. Dem ‘cannabis candidate’ accused of abusing women, overstating ‘Iraq veteran’ claim

A Democrat seeking a U.S. House seat in Illinois – who attracted attention for a campaign ad showing him smoking pot – now faces accusations that he has abused women and misleadingly described himself as an “Iraq veteran” and “former FBI agent.”

Benjamin Thomas Wolf, who is running in the Democratic primary against incumbent U.S. Rep. Mike Quigley, came under fire after an ex-girlfriend alleged he acted abusively and intentionally revealed her name and home address on social media, a practice called “doxing.”

“He actually hit me, threw me to the ground, put his foot on my chest. He was really angry. He grabbed my face,” Katarina Coates, who interned for Wolf’s campaign, told Politico.

  30. Obama Asserts Fast and Furious Executive Privilege Claim for Holder’s Wife

Judicial Watch announced today that it received from the Obama Department of Justice (DOJ) a “Vaughn index” detailing records about the Operation Fast and Furious scandal. The index was forced out of the Obama administration thanks to JW’s June 2012 Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request and subsequent September 2012 FOIA lawsuit (Judicial Watch v. Department of Justice (No. 1:12-cv-01510)). A federal court had ordered the production over the objections of the Obama Justice Department.

The document details the Attorney General Holder’s personal involvement in managing the Justice Department’s strategy on media and Congressional investigations into the Fast and Furious scandal. Notably, the document discloses that emails between Attorney General Holder and his wife Sharon Malone – as well as his mother – are being withheld under an extraordinary claim of executive privilege as well as a dubious claim of deliberative process privilege under the Freedom of Information Act. The “First Lady of the Justice Department” is a physician and not a government employee.

This is the first time that the Obama administration has provided a detailed listing of all records being withheld from Congress and the American people about the deadly Fast and Furious gun running scandal. The 1307-page “draft” Vaughn index was emailed to Judicial Watch at 8:34 p.m. last night, a few hours before a federal court-ordered deadline. In its cover letter, the Department of Justice asserts that all of the responsive records described in the index are “subject to the assertion of executive privilege.”

The Vaughn index explains 15,662 documents. Typically, a Vaughn index must: (1) identify each record withheld; (2) state the statutory exemption claimed; and (3) explain how disclosure would damage the interests protected by the claimed exemption. The Vaughn index arguably fails to provide all of this required information but does provide plenty of interesting information for a public kept in the dark for years about the Fast and Furious scandal.

Based on a preliminary review of the massive document, Judicial Watch can disclose that the Vaughn index reveals:

  31. Pro-Doug Jones super PAC in Alabama broke the law with secret donors, watchdog says

A super PAC that spent millions of dollars to support Democrat Doug Jones in Alabama’s Senate race was accused Monday of breaking campaign finance law by engaging in a “secrecy scheme,” failing to disclose donors until after the election last December.

A complaint against the Highway 31 political action committee was filed with the Federal Election Commission by the Washington D.C.-based nonpartisan watchdog group the Campaign Legal Center. The complaint alleged that the political action committee used lines of credit from vendors to avoid disclosing that it was backed by well-funded national Democratic groups.

“Democrats talk the talk about supporting transparency in political money, but then national Democratic groups push aggressive new legal theories to undermine the transparency laws that are on the books,” Brendan Fischer, a spokesman for the Campaign Legal Center, told Al.com. “Despite laws requiring that super PACs disclose their donors, Alabama voters went to the polls on Election Day without knowing who was backing Highway 31. This secrecy scheme cooked up by Highway 31 and its backers threatens to create a new disclosure loophole that will be exploited by billionaires and operatives supporting both parties, unless the FEC does its job and enforces our disclosure laws.”

  33. China Censors Orwell’s 1984, Animal Farm Amid Vote to Remove Term Limits

Chinese censors have suppressed phrases including “incapable ruler,” “I oppose,” “shameless,” “disagree” and “emperor,” as well as the names of George Orwell’s books 1984 and Animal Farm and Winnie the Pooh, a cartoon that critics have used to mock Xi.

Beijing, China – The ruling Chinese Communist Party government announced plans on February 25th to remove a constitutional clause limiting presidential service to two five-year terms, paving the way for current Chinese President Xi Jinping to retain control of the country indefinitely after his second term expires in 2023. The proposed amendments to China’s constitution are expected to be signed off by the country’s parliament, the National People’s Congress.

The move to eliminate term limits has been met with condemnation and social media backlash in China since it was announced on Sunday, the eve of an annual political congress in Beijing, and has pushed China’s online government censors into overdrive. As Chinese took to social media to criticize the announcement, government censors went into overdrive suppressing the use of certain terms to retain an illusion of support for the ruling Communist Party and Xi Jinping.

Heavy censorship on Sina Weibo, China’s Twitter-type microblog, has become the norm since the announcement, according to China Digital Times and Free Weibo, two China censorship-monitoring websites, which noted that censors included phrases such as “incapable ruler” and “I oppose,” as well as words including “shameless,” “disagree” and “emperor” – and even the letter N for a short time.

    http://www.middleeasteye.net/news/us-backed-syrian-forces-urge-europe-take-back-foreign-fighters-56015630

“They stopped Islamic State dead in its tracks in northern Syria, driving the group famously from Kobane, then Manbij, then finally liberating the IS “capital” Raqqa as the spearhead of US-led international coalition forces.

But thanks to their success, the Syrian Democratic Forces say they are now stuck with hundreds, possibly thousands, of foreign IS fighters captured on the battlefield – and not one of their European allies has said it is willing to take any back.

Gabriel Kino, an SDF spokesman, told MEE that they have sent letters to many Western countries to convince them to take action.

“The SDF so far has captured thousands of IS militants, both Syrian or foreign fighters that joined IS during the last few years,” he said, speaking from an SDF base in Ain al-Issa.

“We are conducting investigations and trying to get as much information as possible from them to use in the war against IS, which is still ongoing [in Deir Ezzor]”.

But, he says, they have no clear view what they are going to do with them.

“We send letters to ask foreign governments to take those foreign fighters back and put them on trial, but so far we have not received any responses,” Kino said.

His comments come after statements from the UK and France that the best option for Europe is that the IS fighters never come back…”

“The US State Department placed a $5 million (Dh18.4 million) reward for help locating the leader of the Pakistani Taliban on Thursday, linked to bloody attacks in Pakistan and the 2010 attempted Times Square car bombing in New York.

The State Department posted the reward for information leading to the identification or location of Maulana Fazlullah, the head of the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan militant group (TTP).

It also offered $3 million each for two other militants associated with the TTP: Abdul Wali, leader of Jamaat ul-Ahrar, and Mangal Bagh, the leader of Lashkar-e-Islam.

The State Department said the TTP has “demonstrated a close alliance with Al Qaida” and the three pose a threat to the security of the United States…”

    http://gulfnews.com/news/mena/iran/iran-s-ballistic-missile-programme-slammed-1.2184901

“A meeting of Arab ministers have condemned Iran’s continued development of its ballistic missile programme and the launching of Iranian-made rockets by Al Houthi militias targeting cities and villages of Saudi Arabia.

The Committee said that it is concerned with Iran’s lack of seriousness in committing to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), and whether this agreement would stop Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon in the future, particularly in light of its hostile policies in the region.

“Iran must comply with implementation of Security Council resolution 2231 with regard to its missile programme, and the world community needs to carry out an effective mechanism to verify Iran’s implementation of the resolution, inspection and monitoring,” the statement read.

The statement was issued at the conclusion of its meeting at the headquarters of the Arab League held on Wednesday, chaired by Dr Anwar Mohammad Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs.

The committee urged the world powers to re-impose sanctions quickly and effectively if Iran violates its obligations under this resolution…”

  38. Germany deports 100 Egyptians for visa violations (ahram, Mar 8, 2018)
    http://english.ahram.org.eg/NewsContent/1/64/292404/Egypt/Politics-/Germany-deports–Egyptians-for-visa-violations.aspx

“Germany deported 100 Egyptians and sent them to Cairo over violations of residency requirements, including those whose asylum requests were rejected, Egyptian airport officials said Thursday, the first action of this kind from Berlin.

The move signals intent to implement a sharper migration policy by Germany, which accepted over a million refugees between 2015 and 2016, mostly from war-torn countries such as Syria, Afghanistan and Iraq, but later experienced a populist backlash that drove support of far-right politicians.

The deportees landed in Cairo on Wednesday on a flight from Frankfurt that included a robust security detail of 50 German officers, who returned after handing over the Egyptians to authorities at Cairo’s international airport.

Police then investigated the individuals and the circumstances surrounding their deportations, including whether any had warrants issued for their arrest. Most of them were released but over a dozen were still in custody on Thursday.

Human rights organizations often oppose deportations to Egypt over concerns those returning may face harsh treatment by authorities…”

“A video of girls dancing on a stage, while a crowd cheers them on, has caused an uproar in Iran. This dance took place at an event organized by the Tehran municipality, with the mayor in attendance. So why the fuss? Hardliners have criticized the reformist mayor Ali Najafi for allowing an “immoral ceremony” where “women” danced in public.

In Iran, sharia law dictates that grown women – an age that is set at nine years old – are forbidden to dance in front of anyone but their husbands…”
