A federal judge ordered the San Diego Unified School District on Tuesday to hand over evidence detailing its correspondence with the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) about the implementation of a controversial anti-Islamophobia bullying initiative at San Diego public schools.
The development is the latest in a long-running saga concerning school officials in San Diego coordinating with CAIR, an American-Muslim civil rights and religious organization with known links to a number of anti-Israel groups such as the Muslim Brotherhood.
The controversy began in April when the San Diego school district announced it was launching an anti-Islamophobia initiative to combat what it described as a vast and underreported epidemic of anti-Muslim bullying in the district’s schools.

“The official gazette in Egypt released on Wednesday a court ruling issued last week that places ISIS-affiliate, the Sinai State, on the terrorism blacklist.
More than 300 terror suspects have also been blacklisted.
Formerly known as Ansar Beit al-Maqdis, Sinai State has been active in North Sinai where it announced its allegiance to ISIS in 2014, eventually changing its name.
The group had claimed responsibility for several attacks that have left hundreds of civilians, policemen and members of the armed forces dead throughout the country since the ouster in 2013 of President Mohammed Morsi of the Muslim Brotherhood.
The 319 suspects that have been blacklisted are currently standing trial before the higher state security tribunal. They are charged with belonging to the terrorist Sinai State, recruiting members for it, promoting ISIS thought and attacking the armed forces and Christians.
The Egyptian armed forces have earlier this year launched an offensive to expel terrorists from North Sinai. The operation is still ongoing.”

Pentagon Gearing Up for Space Warfare
New policy warns of counterattacks against space attacks
The Pentagon is preparing for war should China, Russia, or other adversaries attack vital American satellites and other space systems, a senior Pentagon official told Congress on Wednesday.
John Rood, undersecretary of defense for policy, testified before a House subcommittee that the Trump administration’s new defense policy calls for conducting military and other operations in response to space attacks, mainly by China and Russia.
Rood said American space systems are essential for “our prosperity, security, and way of life.”
“And [Defense Department] space capabilities are critical for effective deterrence, defense, and force projection capabilities,” he told a hearing of the House Armed Services subcommittee on strategic forces.
“Due to the critical importance of these assets, the national security strategy states, ‘any harmful interference with or attack upon critical components of our space architecture that directly affects this vital U.S. interest will be met with a deliberate response at a time, place, manner, and domain of our choosing.'”

That’s what happens when globalist “humanitarians” start demonizing Myanmar or Sri Lanka over alleged mistreatment of the tardish population. None of these struggling countries wants to be sanctioned or bombed. Think Bosnia/Serbia. They do.
CHINA can protect them from the corrupt UN bullies with its VETO. She can and will, simple as that.
For a very steep price, and they all know it. Myanmar is forced to buy crummy Chinese weapons, bow and scrape on command. Sri Lanka may have to give over a chunk of sovereignty. And so forth.
It isn’t that they’re greedy or stupid. It’s a terrible situation. We shouldn’t let ourselves be played by the forces we KNOW to be toxic.
India is trying to stop China from taking over in Sri Lanka but is running into opposition from some of the Lankan’s who want Chinese investments. India also wants to prevent China from taking control or partial control of the islands since they control one of the choke points into the Indian Ocean. As I have said before (and posted videos on) China is trying to encircle the Indian Ocean to cut off India’s access to raw materials from external sources.
So far I haven’t head of anything the US is doing besides talking about a mutual defense treaty. India needs fighters, fighter bombers, tanks, helicopters etc. The problem is that they are almost broke and Obama borrowed and spent so much money so are we. If things were peaceful we could grow our way out of this mess (if we can keep the Dems out of the White House and control of Congress for about 20 years). Since things aren’t peaceful and are getting worse we are going to have to decide who we can afford to support and who we will have to let take care of themselves. Pax America was murdered by Obama and the entire world is starting to pay the price for this murder.

Navy, Marine Corps leaders warn that China is ‘weaponizing capital’
Top Navy and Marine Corps officials on Wednesday expressed concern over China’s expanding global reach and said the superpower was rapidly buying up foreign land to “win without fighting.”
“When it comes to China, the bottom line there is the checkbook,” Navy Secretary Richard V. Spencer told lawmakers during a House Appropriations defense subcommittee hearing.
“Not only in the dollars and cents that they are writing to support their military expansion and their technological work, but what they’re doing around the globe … weaponizing capital.”
Spencer referred to Beijing’s current funding of a Sri Lankan port project, a move not done as aid but rather in order to secure it for themselves.

When Chinese President Xi Jinping visited Washington on Sept. 24, 2015 on a state visit, hundreds of Chinese students lined the streets for hours, carrying banners and flags to welcome him. It was a remarkable display of seemingly spontaneous patriotism.
Except it wasn’t entirely spontaneous. The Chinese Embassy paid students to attend and helped organize the event. Working with Chinese Students and Scholars Associations (CSSAs) at local universities — a Chinese student organization with branches at dozens of schools around the country — government officials from the office of educational affairs at the Chinese Embassy in Washington collected the contact information of about 700 students who had signed up to attend. Embassy officials communicated with students via WeChat, a Chinese messaging app, during the event and into the night, responding to messages as late as 3 a.m.
According to a Chinese student at George Washington University who attended the event, participants each received about $20 for their effort, distributed through the CSSA a few months later.

Intel report: Beijing provides ‘strings-attached funding’ to ‘coerce’ self-censorship
The CIA has issued a classified report detailing China’s far-reaching foreign influence operations campaign in the United States, which imparts financial incentives as leverage to permeate American institutions.
In an unclassified page of the report obtained by the Washington Free Beacon, the CIA cautions against efforts by the Chinese Communist Party to stipulate funding to universities and policy institutes in exchange for academic censorship.
“The CCP provides ‘strings-attached’ funding to academic institutions and think tanks to deter research that casts it in a negative light,” the report says. “It has used this tactic to reward pro-China viewpoints and coerce Western academic publications and conferences to self-censor. The CCP often denies visas to academics who criticize the regime, encouraging many China scholars to preemptively self-censor so they can maintain access to the country on which their research depends.”
The CIA warning joins a growing call by U.S. lawmakers and intelligence officials to investigate China’s involvement on American college campuses. The agency declined to comment on the report.

Federal court will hold first-ever hearing on climate change science
WASHINGTON
A federal judge in San Francisco has ordered parties in a landmark global warming lawsuit to hold what could be the first-ever U.S. court hearing on the science of climate change.
The proceeding, scheduled for March 21 by U.S. District Court Judge William Alsup, will feature lawyers for Exxon, BP, Chevron and other oil companies pitted against those for San Francisco and Oakland — California cities that have accused fossil fuel interests of covering up their role in contributing to global warming.
“This will be the closest that we have seen to a trial on climate science in the United States, to date,” said Michael Burger, a lawyer who heads the Sabin Center for Climate Change Law at Columbia University.

A young man whose femur had torn through his skin in a motorcycle crash needed antibiotics for an infection. An elderly retiree with a swollen foot arrived after taking a 20-hour bus ride from Caracas because doctors there told his family the only treatment they could offer was amputation — without anesthesia or antibiotics.
“If you want to sign, sign. But we are not responsible for the life of your father,” Teresa Tobar, 36, quoted the doctors in Venezuela as telling her when they handed over the papers to authorize her father’s surgery.
As Venezuela’s economic crisis worsens, rising numbers are fleeing in a burgeoning refugee crisis that is drawing alarm across Latin America. Independent groups estimate that as many as 3 million to 4 million Venezuelans have abandoned their homeland in recent years, with several hundred thousand departing in 2017 alone.

Residents near San Diego are warned to watch out for a four-legged fugitive: a 5-foot monitor lizard that wriggled out of its cage.
Mike Estevez tells KGTV that the 35-pound reptile named Bubbles was last seen on Sunday at his store, Mike’s Pets in Spring Valley.
Estevez says the carnivorous critter probably managed to escape through a tiny crevice at the bottom of a cage.
Security camera footage shows Bubbles sauntering toward the rear of the store.

Senate Intelligence Hearing Reveals Extent of Security Clearance Backlog

The Senate Intelligence Committee recently revealed just how backlogged the security clearance process actually is for government employees.
The panel met with private sector and government officials on Wednesday to discuss streamlining the process, which can take up to 18-months.
Many of the speakers echoed similar suggestions, including creating one single agency to oversee security clearance checks and congressional oversight to ensure they are completed in a timely manner.
Committee Chair Richard Burr voiced his frustration over the backlog and the situation new-hires are placed in.

UK says it will respond robustly to nerve agent attack on Russian ex-spy
LONDON (Reuters) – Britain will methodically work out who carried out a nerve agent attack on a Russian ex-spy and his daughter, then take robust action, interior minister Amber Rudd said on Thursday.
Former double agent Sergei Skripal, 66, and his daughter Yulia, 33, have been in hospital since they were found unconscious on Sunday on a bench outside a shopping center in the southern English city of Salisbury.
“Both remain unconscious, and in a critical but stable condition,” Home Secretary Rudd told parliament.
British media and some politicians have speculated that the Russian state could be behind the attack – suggestions dismissed by Moscow as knee-jerk, anti-Russian propaganda.
“The use of a nerve agent on UK soil is a brazen and reckless act. This was attempted murder in the most cruel and public way,” Rudd said.
“But if we are to be rigorous in this investigation, we must avoid speculation and allow the police to carry on their investigation.”

Africa should avoid forfeiting sovereignty to China over loans: Tillerson
ADDIS ABABA (Reuters) – U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said on Thursday that African countries should be careful not to forfeit their sovereignty when they accept loans from China, the continent’s biggest trading partner.

He may also seek to smooth relations after U.S. President Trump reportedly dismissed some African nations as “shithole countries” in January. Trump later denied making the comment.
“We are not in any way attempting to keep Chinese dollars from Africa,” Tillerson told a news conference in the Ethiopian capital. “It is important that African countries carefully consider the terms of those agreements and not forfeit their sovereignty.”
The United States is the leading aid donor to Africa but China surpassed it as a trade partner in 2009. Beijing has pumped billions into infrastructure projects, though critics say the use of Chinese firms and labor undermines their value.

US agents untrained to vet Islamic radicals, have poor grasp of jihadist threat, experts warn (RT, Mar 8, 2018)

“US law enforcers aren’t trained to detect Islamic radicals, which enabled a suspected Al-Qaeda-linked jihadist to remain off the radar in America for seven years, attorney Jennifer Breedon told RT.
Saudi national, Naif Abdulaziz Alfallaj, who trained at the Al-Qaeda camp in Afghanistan together with some of the 9/11 plane hijackers, was detained in Oklahoma in February. He arrived in the US on a non-immigrant visa back in 2011 and lived freely in the country, even taking pilot lessons. It took the US security agencies a whole seven years to match the fingerprints from Al-Qaeda papers obtained in Afghanistan in 2011 with the prints in its database and reveal Alfallaj’s true identity. The man now faces up to 20 years in prison for two counts of visa fraud and lying to the FBI about his terrorist links.
Breedon, an attorney specializing in foreign policy, international law and religious terrorism, believes that the Alfallaj affair shows “an ongoing failure of the US – and also Europe – to properly vet these people and for our law enforcement to even understand the nature of radical Islamists.”
“Why this person was able to go under the radar; why he went all the way through the State Department vetting process – because there’s no vetting process that vets for extremist religious ideology,” she said. According to the attorney, the employees of the relevant US agencies “haven’t been properly trained” and are unaware of the most basic things, like who the Wahhabis are and what Sharia Law is.
“It’s very likely that [Alfallaj] didn’t even have to try hard to deceive” the US authorities, Breedon said. “The State Department is asking questions and they’re expecting an honest answer. And these people, especially, if they have terrorist ties or connections, are never going to be honest on a ‘yes’ or ‘no’ questionnaire… If we don’t know how to read between the lines or truly understand their ideology we’ll continue to not catch these people.”
The jihadists are able to freely come and stay in the US unhampered because “the FBI has many problems right now,” Breedon said. “The FBI has been too busy with trying to harm President Donald Trump… or trying to go after these supposed Russian hackers. You have the FBI spending… millions of dollars for the special investigation into these things the American people don’t care about, so it’s very likely that something as important as allowing a terrorist to get a US visa would fall under the rug.”
Another unhelpful thing is the Western model of “we can’t offend anybody,” Breedon believes. In 2016, when Omar Mateen killed 49 people and injured 58 others at an Orlando gay club, “the FBI had ample warning that the Orlando attacker was a threat, but because he was Muslim they didn’t want to look into it; they didn’t want to be seen as targeting a certain religious group – and because of that lots of people died.”
Breedon also refuted the FBI’s claims that it needs more funding to be effective, reminding that “reports have come out with school shootings in the US where the FBI many times received a phone call warning them about these shooters and… the FBI didn’t follow up. It’s not so much a lack of resources as it is a lack of knowledge and understanding about threats that matter the most,” she said.
Former US diplomat, Jim Jatras, told RT that the “incompetence” of the US security agencies could be the simplest explanation for Alfallaj’s seven-year stay in the US. “We know of many cases where people, who should’ve been on the watch list, weren’t there because of some bureaucratic mix up or because they had trouble with the names. As you know, especially, with Arabic names, sometimes there’s a lot of confusion or differences how they are rendered into English.”
“The other explanation is that this gentleman is a Saudi and there was some sort of favoritism involved. That perhaps some agency had an interest in him for other reasons and he was given special treatment as a result,” Jatras said.
If this assumption turns out to be valid then “it also may show that there are agencies that have their own priorities that are not necessarily the same as those of the American people and keeping the American people safe… This is an ongoing problem, especially, with regard to the kind of support we’ve been giving to terrorist groups in many countries over the last decades,” he said.”
