This may be nothing especially but I thought that it was worthy of comment as it has happened several times to me: My opening IT pages are all sites who disagree markedly with the totalitarian Left as well as islam. I naturally use a VPN and hop around quite a lot WRT servers as I have (in the past) had death threats when I used to try and debate on Islamic websites(totally pointless). However several times I used the San Francisco one(has good speeds) and was totally unable to access these sites. However moving to Japan, Australia, or almost anywhere else(have not tried Germany or the UK yet) I was on instantly. Has anyone else noticed this? Probably more of a line problem than an act of political IT censorship but I just do not trust California’s left (for good reasons other than this)

    I made the local authorities aware of this right after hearing about it from Mr. X. Why did it take six months for the City of Charlottesville and the local prosecutor to learn about this footage? Why was the FBI concealing important video evidence from the Commonwealth of Virginia?…

    • Turkey: Erdogan promises revenge for Kurds downing Turkish helicopter

      President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan promised that Kurdish militia ‘will pay the price’ for downing a Turkish helicopter, at a press conference in Istanbul on Saturday.

      “We will make them pay a much bigger price than this. Maybe we will lose a helicopter, but they will pay the price for that not just once, but many, many more times,” vowed Erdogan.

      Earlier, the Turkish military confirmed that a helicopter had crashed in Afrin, northern Syria, resulting in the deaths of two crew members. It did not disclose the cause of the incident.

      The Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) militia also confirmed that a helicopter had crashed in the area.

      The Turkish military operation in Afrin, northern Syria, began on January 20.

    Iran occasionally announces the detention and conviction of people on espionage charges for foreign countries, particularly the U.S. and Israel.

    BERLIN — After months of secret negotiations, a shadowy Russian bilked American spies out of $100,000 last year, promising to deliver stolen National Security Agency cyberweapons in a deal that he insisted would also include compromising material on President Trump, according to American and European intelligence officials.

    The cash, delivered in a suitcase to a Berlin hotel room in September, was intended as the first installment of a $1 million payout, according to American officials, the Russian and communications reviewed by The New York Times. The theft of the secret hacking tools had been devastating to the N.S.A., and the agency was struggling to get a full inventory of what was missing.

    Several American intelligence officials said they made clear that they did not want the Trump material from the Russian, who was suspected of having murky ties to Russian intelligence and to Eastern European cybercriminals. He claimed the information would link the president and his associates to Russia. Instead of providing the hacking tools, the Russian produced unverified and possibly fabricated information involving Mr. Trump and others, including bank records, emails and purported Russian intelligence data.

  14. Trump Blocks Release of Democratic Rebuttal to GOP Probe Memo

    President Donald Trump on Friday declined to release a House Democratic rebuttal of a Republican memo alleging bias and misconduct by the FBI and Justice Department early in their investigation of Russian election interference.

    Trump is unable to do so because it contains “numerous properly classified and sensitive passages,” White House counsel Donald McGahn wrote in a letter to the House Intelligence chairman, Republican Representative Devin Nunes of California. McGahn said the Justice Department concluded that portions of the memo were highly sensitive.

  15. Israel launches heavy Syria strikes after F-16 crashes

    JERUSALEM/BEIRUT (Reuters) – Israel launched heavy air strikes in Syria on Saturday, saying it hit air defenses and Iranian targets, and the Syrian army claimed to have brought down an Israeli F-16 that crashed in northern Israel in a major escalation of tension.

    The Israeli military said early assessments indicated the jet had been shot down by Syrian fire, but this was still unconfirmed.

    It marked the most serious confrontation yet in Syria between Israel and Iranian and Iran-backed forces that have established a major foothold in the country while fighting in support of President Bashar al-Assad in the civil war.

    Israel said the F-16 crashed during a mission to strike Iranian drone installations in Syria. It said it sent its jets into Syria after shooting down an Iranian drone over Israeli territory earlier on Saturday.

    The military alliance fighting in support of Assad denied any of its drones had entered Israeli air space. In a statement, it said Israel had targeted an air base in the Homs desert that is being used to fly drones in missions against Islamic State.

    It’s best not to spend too much time on this weird new nugget, reported on Friday 9 February by the New York Times.

    The bottom line, up front, is that it rings pretty hollow to me. It sounds like someone in a U.S. agency (I doubt it was the CIA, frankly, but you can decide for yourself) was trying to buy the purported Trump stuff, and now needs a plausible explanation for having done that.

    The rest of it doesn’t really make sense. Style points, however, for the picturesque German venues and the cranberry juice.

Adam Schiff (D-CA), the ranking member of the House Intelligence Committee, crossed the line from scrutiny of alleged Russian interference in the 2016 election into scrutiny of President Donald Trump’s foreign policy on Wednesday, when he appeared on CNN to blast Trump for a supposed “second meeting” with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the G-20 summit in Hamburg last week.
    “I don’t think there’s anything normal about the president having an hour-long meeting with Vladimir Putin outside the presence of any American witness, anyone on his staff, any high-ranking National Security Council people, to know what the president said, what the president represented,” Schiff told CNN.

    Upon learning that the White House had declined to release Rep. Adam Schiff’s “rebuttal” to Devin Nunes’s FISA abuse memo, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer intimated that the question now is “what is he [the president] hiding?”

    I disagree. I think the question now is how will the Democrats’ little immorality drama play in Peoria?

    Schiff carefully choreographed memogate in a way that would achieve precisely this result. Claiming that the Nunes memo had omitted “material facts that were necessary for the public to see that the FBI acted properly,” but knowing in reality the claim was bogus, he went ahead and loaded up his memo with enough classified information to ensure it would be rejected as a threat to national security.

    Schiff had evidently hoped against odds that his two aces in the hole — Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein and FBI Director Christopher Wray — would go along with his ruse and greenlight the rebuttal. Instead they did their job this time, confirming the rightness of the White House’s decision, noting that “portions of the Democratic memo … would raise national security or law enforcement concerns if released publicly.”

  23. Peter Strzok may have used his cell phone in a SCIF, which is a violation of classified info rules

    Released texts between Peter Strzok, the FBI agent who ran the investigation into former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s email server, and his lover, FBI attorney Lisa Page, reveal the possibility that Strzok used his cell phone in a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility, or SCIF — a strict violation of protecting classified information.

    Such a breach would compromise Strzok’s ability to probe Clinton for mishandling classified info and show a lack of awareness about security breaches, which is what he was tasked to investigate. The text messages that the Senate released Wednesday show that Strzok texted his mistress on Aug. 11, 2016, “We’re in Jims SCIF.”

    SCIFs are where the most sensitive classified material is kept and stored. All electronic equipment is strictly prohibited. All people are required to place their phones in lockers before entering.

    Strzok’s visit to “Jims SCIF” took place after he said he had a meeting at the Department of Justice “at 4 then Baker 430.”

  26. Winter Olympics organizers say a cyberattack hit their computer servers during the opening ceremonies, Yonhap reported on Saturday.
    The attack only affected “non-critical systems,” the organizers said.
    The cyberattack follows a string of previous incidents involving various Winter Olympics computer systems, including a spying operation that is believed to have originated from North Korea.

  27. Dr Ali Selim of the Islamic Cultural Centre of Ireland has said he advocates female circumcision.

    Female circumcision, also termed female genital mutilation (FGM), is illegal under the Criminal Justice (Female Genital Mutilation) Act 2012.

    It is estimated that 5,790 girls and women living in Ireland have experienced FGM and some 2,639 girls here may be at risk of being subjected to it.

    Under 2012 legislation, not only is FGM prohibited in Ireland, it is also a criminal offence for a person to take a girl to another country to undergo it.

    “I’m not an advocate of female genital mutilation but I am an advocate of female circumcision. We see female circumcision in the same way we see male circumcision. It might be needed for one person and not another, and it has to be done by a doctor and practised in a safe environment,” Dr Selim told RTÉ’s Prime Time.

    Police raided six addresses in three districts of Istanbul, and detained 31 foreign nationals, Anadolu said.

    Officers seized digital material and documents during the operation, Anadolu said.

    Seventeen more who were also preparing to launch an attack were detained in raids across the capital Ankara, Anadolu said.

    It did not give details on when the operations were carried out.

    Turkey has been a partner in the U.S-led coalition against Islamic State fighters.

    Turkish police stepped up operations against Islamic State suspects at the end of last year before the first anniversary of a New Year gun attack on a nightclub in Istanbul in which 39 people were killed.

    Islamic State claimed responsibility for that shooting, one of a series of attacks believed to have been carried out by the jihadists in Turkey in recent years.”

  31. The Pacific nation of Tuvalu—long seen as a prime candidate to disappear as climate change forces up sea levels—is actually growing in size, new research shows.

    A University of Auckland study examined changes in the geography of Tuvalu’s nine atolls and 101 reef islands between 1971 and 2014, using aerial photographs and satellite imagery.

    It found eight of the atolls and almost three-quarters of the islands grew during the study period, lifting Tuvalu’s total land area by 2.9 percent, even though sea levels in the country rose at twice the global average.

  34. Mexico’s interior ministry has issued an alert across seven states following the theft of a radioactive device.
    The item in question is a nuclear densometer which is used in geotechnical engineering to measure density. It contains radioactive material and there are fears such material could be used to make a “dirty bomb.”

    The theft of the device took place in the city of León in the state of Guanajuata on Thursday morning. It was stolen from a vehicle belonging to an engineering firm. The National Coordination of Civil Protection warned that the material in the device is highly dangerous if removed from its container.

  35. IDF said it struck 12 Iranian and Syrian targets in Syria, including air defense batteries. Hours earlier, an Israeli F-16 jet was downed as it was taking part in an operation targeting Iranian facilities in Syria.
    “Twelve targets, including three aerial defense batteries and four Iranian targets that are part of Iran’s military establishment in Syria were attacked,” the Israeli military said in a statement. The military added that during the attack, “anti-aircraft missiles were fired towards Israel, triggering alarms that were heard in Northern Israel.”

    “Five civilians were killed and another 18 wounded in central Mali when their passenger vehicle struck a landmine, the local governor said on Saturday, two weeks after 26 travellers died in a similar incident in the area.

    The explosion occurred on Friday afternoon on the road between the towns of Dera and Konna in the Mopti region, where Islamist militants have recently stepped up attacks on civilian and military targets, said Governor Sidi Alassane Toure, who blamed the attack on “terrorists”.

    “We must no longer accept living under the same roof as terrorists, we must no longer accept sharing a meal with a terrorist, (or) living in the same village with a terrorist,” Toure said on state radio.

    Although militants in Mali’s restive centre and north have pledged loyalty to international groups like al Qaeda and Islamic State, the jihadists draw chiefly on local grievances against the central government and ethnic rivalries.

      Protesters faced off with police as Piacenza joined several cities in a nationwide anti-fascist protest on Saturday, following the shooting of six migrants in Macerata by a gunman with neo-Nazi sympathies.

      Protesters attacked police with sticks and threw stones, while police retaliated with batons. The demonstrators carried a range of banners denouncing the return of fascism in Italy.

      The nationwide protest has been taking place in the lead-up to March’s general election, which has been characterised by growing tensions over the migrant crisis.

      “Author and sociologist Frank Furedi claims globalist activists working for billionaire financier George Soros bragged about toppling governments at a private lunch.

      A former professor of sociology at the University of Kent in Canterbury, Furedi recounted his experience with the globalist’s “missionaries” in an article for the Telegraph newspaper, having been prompted by the revelations about his efforts to bring down the British government and trigger another EU referendum.

      “Soros believes that if the people voted the wrong way, he is entitled to thwart decisions made by them,” Furedi wrote.

      “Soros does not believe in the legitimacy of borders nor in the authority of national electorates. Consequently, he feels entitled to influence and if possible direct the political destiny of societies all over the world.”

      Furedi said his own encounter with “the Soros operation” took place in the 87-year-old’s native Hungary in 2013, at an Open Society Youth Exchange exchange event which brought together so-called ‘civil society’ activists from across the globe.

      Most of those in attendance were smart, idealistic young people who appeared to be committed to making the world a better place. My only concern with the gathering was it regarded its participants as a group of democratic missionaries, who would go back to homes to spread the good word.

      It was later during lunch at a plush Budapest hotel that I encountered the full force of the arrogant ethos promoted by the Soros network of organisation. At my table I listened to Dutch, American, British, Ukrainian and Hungarian representatives of Soros NGOs boast about their achievements. Some claimed that they played a major role in the Arab Spring in Egypt. Others voiced their pride in their contribution to the democratisation of the Ukraine. Some bragged about their influence in preparing the ground for the overthrow of the Gadafif regime in Libya.

      I sat quietly and felt uncomfortable with a group of people who so casually assumed that they had the right to play God throughout the world. At one point, the head of the table – a Hungarian leader of a Soros NGO – asked me what I thought about their work. Not wishing to offend, I quietly remarked that I wasn’t sure whether the external imposition of their idea of democracy on the people of Libya was legitimate nor that it would work. Without a second’s hesitation, my interlocutor rounded me with the response: “I don’t think that we have the luxury of waiting until the Libyan people come with their own Jefferson!”

      Furedi recalled being alarmed by “the haughty tone with which she lectured me about performing the role” of Thomas Jefferson in countries like Libya, which was transformed into a failed state where jihadists are at large, black Africans are sold openly in slave markets, and criminal people-smugglers coin a handsome profit ferrying illegal migrants to Europe — often with the assistance of NGOs linked to Soros.

      Furedi, who like Soros has a Hungarian-Jewish background, also took aim at defenders of Soros by accusing his critics of anti-Semitism.

      “I am appalled by baiting critics of Soros as anti-Jewish,” he wrote, saying that the “cause of fighting anti-Semitism is ill-served by such opportunistic use of the term.”

      The academic “lost most of his Hungarian-Jewish family in the Holocaust” — while Soros himself survived the calamity by posing as a Hungarian official’s Christian godson, accompanying him on his rounds as he confiscated property from less well-connected Jews.”

  46. An inquest will be held into the 2016 death of an inmate at the Ottawa Carleton Detention Centre, the supervising coroner announced today.

    The inquest is expected to investigate the death of 27-year-old Yousef Mohammed Hussein, who took his own life on Apr. 12, 2016, according to a press release.

    Hussein had been charged with six counts of sexual assault after a series of attacks in Ottawa. At the time of his death, he had waited two years to go to trial, his family said.

The lecture will focus relationships between adult males and younger boys. The event description describes modern pederasty as “sexually, ethically, and politically dubious” but goes on to analyze the role it played for French author and activist Jean Genet.

  50. Rampant knife crime threatens the “very existence” of the Notting Hill Carnival in Sadiq Khan’s London, said a judge sentencing two men for attacks at Europe’s biggest multicultural party.
    Judge Angela Morris issued the warning as she jailed Jordan Clarke, 20, and Eddy Mombele, 24, for attacks on three schoolboys at the parade using a 12-inch ‘zombie’ knife.

    At the Old Bailey on Thursday, the pair were sentenced to 15 years in jail for the stabbings, which took place on August 28th, 2016, when they went on a rampage at the carnival around 4.25 pm.

    Clarke and Mombele knifed a 15-year-old boy three times in the abdomen, buttocks, and arms in a savage attack. The victim was rushed to hospital for emergency surgery and remained hospitalised for two weeks, according to police.
