Mueller III, removed a top F.B.I. agent this summer from his investigation into Russian election meddling after the Justice Department’s inspector general began examining whether the agent had sent text messages that expressed anti-Trump political views, according to three people briefed on the matter.
The agent, Peter Strzok, is considered one of the most experienced and trusted F.B.I. counterintelligence investigators. He helped lead the investigation into whether Hillary Clinton had mishandled classified information on her private email account, and then played a major role in the investigation into links between President Trump’s campaign and Russia.

EXCLUSIVE – Two senior Justice Department officials have confirmed to Fox News that the department’s Office of Inspector General is reviewing the role played in the Hillary Clinton email investigation by Peter Strzok, a former deputy director for counterintelligence at the FBI who was removed from the staff of Special Counsel Robert S. Mueller III earlier this year, after Mueller learned that Strzok had exchanged anti-Trump texts with a colleague.

San Diego opens giant tent to contain hepatitis outbreak
SAN DIEGO (AP) — San Diego on Friday opened the first of three industrial-sized tents to house the homeless as part of the city’s efforts to contain a hepatitis A outbreak stemming from the deplorable conditions people were living in on the streets.
About 20 people made their way to a bunk bed Friday in the tent that will house 350 single men and women. Two other giant tents will open later this month — one for families and one for veterans. The tents will house a total of 700 people.

Yemen Houthis Say They Fired Missile at U.A.E. Nuclear Plant
Yemen’s Houthi rebels said they fired a ballistic missile at a nuclear power plant in Abu Dhabi, targeting a second member of the Arab coalition battling them. The United Arab Emirates said the claim, which was reported by the Houthi-affiliated al-Masirah TV, was untrue.
The conflicting reports come days after former Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh broke his coalition with the Houthis and called on the Yemeni people to “defend their republic” against the rebels. That call was supported by Saudi Arabia and its allies, who have been mired in a conflict in Yemen since 2015 against the Iran-backed Houthis. A U.A.E. official, speaking on condition of anonymity, dismissed the claim and jokingly said the government was still waiting for the missile to arrive.
The U.A.E.’s air defense system is capable of dealing with any threats, and the Barakah nuclear power plant has the necessary safety and security measures in place, the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority said in a statement carried by the sate-run WAM news agency.

The Yemeni rebels, known as Houthis, have been clashing in the capital, Sanaa, for five consecutive days with supporters of Yemen’s former president, Ali Abdullah Saleh, an ally turned adversary.
The alliance between the Houthis and Saleh had helped the rebels retain control of Sanaa, despite nearly three years of coalition airstrikes.
The Houthis accuse Saleh of striking deals with Saudi Arabia and the UAE. Since the recent clashes erupted in Sanaa, the Saudi coalition has been targeting the Houthis and backing Saleh’s camp.
The Houthi claim Sunday came as the UAE celebrated its 46th National Day with public sector holiday that began on Thursday with a commemoration of the country’s fallen soldiers.
In a statement posted on the UAE’s state-run WAM news agency, authorities said: “The National Emergency and Crisis and Disasters Management Authority denies the claim that the Houthis fired a missile toward the country.”
“The UAE possesses an air defense system capable of dealing with any threat of any type or kind,” the statement added, saying that the nuclear power plant in Abu Dhabi was well-protected.
The National, a state-aligned newspaper in Abu Dhabi, also reported that Barakah’s operations were “unaffected on Sunday, while sources on the ground confirmed there were no signs of an attack to the structure.” The newspaper did not elaborate.
The $20 billion Barakah nuclear power plant, being built with help from South Korea, is near Abu Dhabi’s border with Saudi Arabia. The plant lies some 225 kilometers (140 miles) west of the UAE capital.
The first of its four reactors is scheduled to come online in 2018. When fully built, officials hope the nuclear plant will provide up to 25 percent of all energy needs in the UAE, a federation of seven sheikhdoms on the Arabian Peninsula…”

Hawaii attack sirens blare across state for the first time since Cold War
HONOLULU — A siren blared across Hawaii on Friday for the first time since the end of the Cold War in an effort to prepare tourists and residents for a possible nuclear attack from North Korea.
The state is the first to bring back the Cold War-era warning system, Hawaii emergency management officials said. The wailing siren sounded for a minute after the usual testing of the steady alert for tsunamis and other natural disasters that Hawaii residents are used to hearing.
There was little reaction from people on famous Waikiki Beach, where the test sounded like a distant siren.
“We believe that it is imperative that we be prepared for every disaster, and in today’s world, that includes a nuclear attack,” Gov. David Ige said this week, adding that the possibility of a strike is remote.

US sends F-22s to join hundreds of fighters for North Korea war games
Six of the most advanced American stealth fighter jets arrived in South Korea on Saturday for a new round of war games aimed at North Korea’s nuclear weapons and ballistic missile program, according to local reports.
The Defense Department sent the F-22 Raptors to participate in a four-day joint military exercise in South Korea. The games are taking place just days after North Korea tested an intercontinental ballistic missile that appears capable of reaching the eastern seaboard of the U.S.

Fear in London as acid attacks soar
London (AFP) – Delivery rider Jabed Hussain was waiting at a traffic light one night in east London when two attackers sprayed acid in his face and stole his moped.
It was one of hundreds of attacks in the British capital every year that have prompted government intervention and left the city’s police force asking the public for help to tackle the crime wave.

Secy Mattis Begins Middle East Tour In Egypt, Meets With Top Officials
Defense Secretary James Mattis visits Egypt as he kicks off his five day trip to the Middle East.
Mattis met with top Egyptian officials Saturday in Cairo, to discuss cooperation between the two countries in the fight against terrorism.
His visit came just over a week after over two dozen extremists descended on a mosque and killed more then 300 worshipers.
The pentagon said the goal of the trip is to re-affirm the enduring U.S. commitment to international partnerships.
Egypt is among one of top recipients of U.S. military assistance, receiving nearly $1.3 billion annually as well as $250 million in economic aid. The assistance is linked to Egypt’s 1979 peace treaty with Israel which is now mostly aimed at fighting terrorism.
Mattis will head to Jordan next where he is scheduled to attend a meeting on countering violent extremism, before traveling to Pakistan on Monday.
He will then wrap up his four-nation tour in Kuwait.

As she points out no American should be wishing that the US was involved in the “field tests” of the Israeli and Russian weapons, but we really need to be watching and analyzing what the weapons did so our next gen (or modified current gen) weapons can defeat both.. The reports say that Israeli aircraft launched air to surface missiles at a target near Damascus. I’ve seen reports that the target was on the west side of Damascus (link below), and that it was south of Damascus. It’s quite possible it was a set of targets and there were strikes in both areas.

Flashback – Obama State Dept: ‘No problem’ with Trump team contacting Russian officials

The mainstream media have been in overdrive since Friday morning, depicting phone calls between Michael Flynn and Russian Ambassador Sergei Kislyak as evidence of nefarious dealings by the Trump transition team.
Howard Portnoy reports that ABC News even had an uncorrected story out there for hours describing Trump’s authorization of his team’s contacts with Russians as occurring during the election campaign; i.e., before Trump was elected, and thus became the president-elect.
The problem with the whole theme is that the Obama administration was well aware of the contacts Trump and his team were engaging in with the Russians. And had “no problem with them.”

Dalhousie University in Halifax is putting on an emergency hijabs for women who have their veils torn off. Although the university have not reported any such cases, the Student Association wants to be far-sighted.
The idea came after a candlelight vigil on campus after the bombing at the mosque in Quebec last January. According to the president of the Dalhousie University Students’ Association, Amina Abawajy, the Muslim community is worried about their safety, especially the women who wear the hijab, since they are easily identifiable as Muslim.
The association explains that it can be a traumatic experience for a woman to be assaulted and have her veil torn off .
That’s why the association decided to provide the University Security Service with emergency hijab kits. Thus, a woman can have quick and easy access to a veil in difficult times.
Both the university management and the Student Association hope that these kits will never have to be used.

Adam Smith International (ASI), one of the biggest UK foreign aid contractors, has “described the claims as entirely inaccurate and misleading” and called on the BBC to change the title of the program, according to The Guardian.
The organization manages the British-funded Access to Justice and Community Security (Ajacs) program to support the FSP in rebel-held areas in Syria. According to the newspaper, an ASI review found that only $1,800 of the $20 million in funds sent to the FSP ended up in the hands of FSP members linked to extremist groups, and this was not taxpayers’ money.
Lawmaker Andrew Mitchell told The Guardian that it was inevitable that some FSP members would contact extremist groups, but this complexity should not deter the British government from involvement. Mitchell also warned against the BBC jumping on an “anti-aid bandwagon,” stressing that this is an “extremely important project” contributing to the curbing of terrorism in Syria.
“This work is too important to fall victim to an anti-aid narrative,” the lawmaker said.
The founder of the FSP, General Adeeb ab-Shallaf, accused the broadcaster of “irresponsible journalism,” according to The Guardian.
The BBC has responded to the criticism, saying it is “confident in its journalism” and the report will be aired without amendments.

“Happy birthday to the first SMS (Short Message Service). December 3 marks 25 years since mobile telephones moved beyond mere audio.
British engineer Neil Papworth on December 3, 1992, wrote “Merry Christmas” to his colleague Richard Jarvis in the first-ever text message.
Jarvis was at a Christmas party at the time and Papworth send it using his computer as back then phone handsets could only receive messages.
“I don’t know if they really thought it was going to be a big thing,” Papworth told Sky News. “I spelt it with the full words – not Xmas.”
As mobile phones became more popular in the late 1990s the use of text messaging skyrocketed, peaking in 2011.
Since then Facebook, WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger have taken over messaging, becoming more popular amongst the public.
However, as Elizabeth Bruton of London’s Science Museum pointed out, the creation of texting was “an incredibly important development in the history of mobile telephones,” as it marked the point when phones moved beyond mere audio.
“For the very first time we had mobile telephones that were more than just literal mobile telephones, moving beyond voice communications to a new application of the mobile spectrum to sending, literally, text messages,” Bruton said.”

The African Union-European Union (AU-EU) summit, held in in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, on November 29-30, 2017, has ended in abject failure after the 55 African and 28 European leaders attending the event were unable to agree on even basic measures to prevent potentially tens of millions of African migrants from flooding Europe.
Despite high expectations and grand statements, the only concrete decision to come out of Abidjan was the promise to evacuate 3,800 African migrants stranded in Libya.
More than six million migrants are waiting in countries around the Mediterranean to cross into Europe, according to a classified German government report leaked to Bild. The report said that one million people are waiting in Libya; another one million are waiting in Egypt, 720,000 in Jordan, 430,000 in Algeria, 160,000 in Tunisia, and 50,000 in Morocco. More than three million others who are waiting in Turkey are currently prevented from crossing into Europe by the EU’s migrant deal with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
The world is going to see the entire world revert to complete barbarism as each ethnic group and national identity fight for survival, this is an existential war. This gives me a lot to think about, to an extent it explains why Russia is not trying to reign in Kim. With the US being the main military power in NATO and with our military forces weakened by Obama our getting tied up in a war in Korea would give Putin leverage in Europe. Leverage that probably wouldn’t be enough to allow him to make major gains because the nations in Eastern Europe won’t let Russia get too much influence over them. All in all the mans conclusion that Russia will be forced into the Middle East and forced out of all other locations is probably correct. He is also probably correct that Trump will let Putin become the power broker in the Middle East, but his conclusions on why are in my opinion wrong. The US military was cut well into the bone by Obama and company and we don’t have the military to fight in more then one theater and won’t for several years. We are also hampered by our internal divisions and the necessity of draining the swamp/flushing the sewer. Giving Putin control of most of the Middle East (even if that control is largely illusion) will not be popular in the US and given the lefts screaming about collusion between Trump and Russia will be called evidence proving the charges.

We in the US have to look at the whole world, we have a problem that we have to solve (and I do mean have to solve) in North Korea. We have Western Europe with several million Islamic Invaders inside Europe and they probably have a large number of weapons in the Mosques. This is Russia’s backyard. What “Free World” are you talking about? The USA’s left the field in the ME almost entirely. Putin’s been consistent in his support of Assad; anything else he might get is gravy.
He’s not pledging undying loyalty to either Iran or Turkey. He’s acting as a mediator; it’s a role. This is no showdown: while deconflicting, they poke America with a little dance that looks good on TV. Not only does it cost Putin nothing, both Turk and Ayatollah are buying toys he wants to sell.
Nor is this a “fatal fight” between some vague “Middle Eastern Islamic Caliphate”. None of these men are even Arabs! That’s the most salient constraint on their legitimacy. Arbitration between Mohammadans accomplishes little more than a hudna at best.
The Turk carrying the standard for Sunni Islam?! He’s MB, he represents jihadis bent on eliminating states like Egypt and the Gulf monarchies. The Caliphate concept is inimical to their survival. And holding hands with the Ayatollah doesn’t exactly endear him to his coreligionists.
Most important: even if Iran were to achieve her “Persian Crescent”, Sunni Islam would remain dominant. Egypt is the elephant in the room, and that’s not about to change no matter who squats on the black rock in the Pirate’s sandbox.
