1. Nazi posters found at UBC on Remembrance Day

This morning, pro-Nazi posters were found on all entrances of the War Memorial Gym by attendees of UBC’s Remembrance Day ceremony. Campus Security has since taken down the posters and is now working on a report of the incident.

“It was about 9 a.m. and I saw the posters and then we walked past and there were more of them and we went and checked them out,” said Chloe Rickard, a second-year arts student. “There were lots of swastikas, websites which were like ropeculture.com.”

Since the end of WWI, Remembrance Day has been in place to commemorate the service of armed forces members and veterans from countries within the Commonwealth like Canada. At UBC, the community has held annual Remembrance Day ceremonies on November 11 at the War Memorial Gym since 1951.

While referencing “lest we forget” — a common saying of Remembrance Day — one poster twisted this message by depicting Nazi troops as “the true heroes of WW2.”

(We here at VTB predicted a rise of this sort of thing in around 2008 which you can read on The Agendas and Views of this Site page.)

2. This week in Stupid, he analysis the recent statement of Erdogan that the whole concept of “moderate Islam” is a tactic to defang or weaken Islam. Of course, he is pretty much spot on.

3. Major riots in Belgium by Moroccans over some soccer triumph that happened somewhere else.

Riots also happened in the Netherlands and elsewhere. Article in French here and more in the comments at today’s Reader’s Links post.

4. Italy expels Kosovo radical imam for security reasons

A Muslim religious leader from Kosovo was expelled from Italy for posing threat of national security, according to Italian media.

The imam identified as Idriz Idrizovic, 39, was deported from the city of Lecco in the northern Lombardy region, where he lived since 2008, at the order of the Italian Interior Ministry, according to Ansa news agency.

The man was allegedly linked to other Muslim preachers from the Balkans, who are believed to support an extremist view of Islam. Officers from military police Carabinieri arrested the imam at his home on Monday, and a court in Lecco later upheld the ministry’s expulsion order on the basis that the man represented a danger for Italy, state broadcaster RAI News 24 also reported

5. The mayor of Clichy reveals that leaflets calling to kill Jews circulated during street prayers (Màj: against “disbelievers” too)

Since March, therefore, “agitators encourage street prayers every Friday on the largest boulevard in the city leading to Paris, laments Rémi Muzeau. These faithful, who are not all Clichois, since we see a lot of them leave by metro then, are manipulated by people who want to flout the Republic and stigmatize our city. Last week already, the party Secular Forces had come to demand the end of “these manifestations organized in the greatest illegality”.

“We can hear in Arabic calls for violence, which have been relayed on social networks, without any measure of repression being taken against the organizers, supported from the beginning by the CCIF, is outraged Laurence Marchand-Taillade,

its president. And the forces of order, missioned by the Prefecture, are there in number. Should the Interior Budget be spent on the protection of illegal street prayers? “

On October 13, leaflets of a certain “Mrap” (Movement for the respect and adoration of the Prophet) were recovered after the prayer on the sidewalks, reports the mayor. One can read there, under the subtitle “Mécréants”: “you put them to death or you will make them undergo the torture of the cross (…) You will drive them out of their country”. […]

(There is a video in the story. We are waiting to see if there is anything in it to make it worth translation.)

6. Islam truly is the religion of peace. Unless there is a rumour that someone said something bad about Mohammad on Facebook. Then they burn down your whole village.

Hey Muslims! I heard someone in Tehran said something about the Prophet Mohammed being a child raping necrophilic psychopath on Facebook! The matches are in the third drawer.

From The Dhaka Tribune:

The aggressors claimed they were infuriated by a defamatory status published from the Facebook account of one Titu Roy, who hails from Thakurpara

One person was killed when police opened fire to ward off an angry mob that turned violent and launched an arson attack on Hindu houses at Thakurpara village in Rangpur Sadar upazila on Friday.

At least five more people were severely injured as police fired rounds of rubber bullets and tear gas shells at the angry crowd.

Before the police intervened, the aggressors had set fire to at least 30 Hindu houses of the village. They also looted and vandalised a good number of houses in that village, according to local sources.

A rumour shaped and vented the anger of the Muslims in the neighbouring villages against the Hindu community.
The rumour was that one Titu Roy, originally from Thakurpara but currently living in Narayanganj, put up a Facebook post defaming Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) a few days ago.

There is a lot more indicators of the end of the world as we knew it in the reader’s links. Put on your scuba suit and dive in.

Thank you M., Wrath of Khan, EB., Egri Nok, Kathy and a long and venerable list of truth seekers.
