US High Court Drops Hawaii Travel Ban Case (aawsat, Oct 24, 2017)
https://aawsat.com/english/home/article/1062426/us-high-court-drops-hawaii-travel-ban-case
“The US Supreme Court on Tuesday formally dropped plans to hear a legal challenge brought by Hawaii against an earlier version of President Donald Trump’s travel ban targeting several Muslim-majority nations countries and a ban on refugees, both of which have expired and been replaced with revised policies.
Trump’s 120-day ban on refugees was expiring on Tuesday.
The court on Oct. 10 disposed of the first of two travel ban cases after Trump’s earlier 90-day ban on people entering the US from six predominantly Muslim countries expired on Sept. 24. It was a replaced with a modified, open-ended ban involving eight countries.
On the other hand, the Trump administration will require all refugees to provide information about their whereabouts going back a decade, twice as long as before, during screening for admission to the United States, starting on Wednesday, according to a State Department document seen by Reuters.
The US government is also taking a step that refugee advocates say will in effect pause the admission of most adult male refugees from 11 countries as well as some Palestinians, for whom a certain kind of advanced security screening is now required. The government has instructed organizations that process refugees abroad not to put in requests for that kind of screening, known as a Security Advisory Opinion, until new guidelines are sent.”
‘De facto ban’: US to delay processing of refugees from 11 countries (middleeasteye, Oct 24, 2017)
http://www.middleeasteye.net/news/trump-administration-add-new-screening-refugees-852920329
“The Trump administration will temporarily delay processing of most refugees from 11 countries identified as high-risk, while resuming refugee admissions for other countries, government officials said on Tuesday. Most of the affected countries are in the Middle East and Africa, according to documents seen by Reuters.
The countries that require additional screening, which will be affected by the new guidelines are Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Libya, Mali, North Korea, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Syria and Yemen, as well as Palestinians who lived in those nations.
The administration also will place on hold a programme that allows for family reunification for some refugees resettled in the United States, according to a Trump administration memo seen by Reuters and sent to Congress on Tuesday. The resettling of so-called following-to-join refugees will resume, according to the memo, once screening “enhancements have been implemented”.
US officials said the changes were aimed at protecting US national security, but refugee advocates said they amounted to a de facto ban on refugees from the 11 countries and were unnecessary, since refugees are already heavily vetted.
The changes come at the close of a 120-day ban on most refugees ordered by President Donald Trump to allow a review of vetting processes. The 120 days ended on Tuesday, and Trump issued an executive order allowing the general resumption of the US refugee programme.
The memo expressed concerns about admitting refugees from the 11 countries and said the government will conduct a 90-day review “to determine what additional safeguards, if any, are necessary to ensure … the security and welfare of the United States”.
Trump took office in January with a goal of sharply cutting refugee admissions, in line with promises he made during the 2016 election campaign. He quickly issued temporary bans on refugees and travellers from several Muslim-majority countries, which were challenged in court.
Opponents of the bans argued that the policies were aimed at barring Muslims from the United States. The administration has denied any intent to discriminate and says its travel ban and security changes are meant to protect the United States from terrorist acts. The Supreme Court on Tuesday dismissed the last remaining challenge to an earlier version of Trump’s travel ban…”
US allows refugees with ramped-up screening (gulfnews, Oct 25, 2017)
http://gulfnews.com/news/americas/usa/us-allows-refugees-with-ramped-up-screening-1.2112410
“President Donald Trump on Tuesday allowed the resumption of refugee admissions as a complete ban he instituted four months ago expired, but the administration is adding “enhanced” screening procedures and a 90-day review for nationals from 11 countries believed to pose a higher risk to US national security.
Officials refused to identify the 11 countries, but said refugee applications from those nations will be accepted and judged case-by-case.
Trump issued an executive order directing relevant government agencies to resume refugee processing, which he clamped down on shortly after taking office. Trump argued that the US needed to do a better job determining whom it allowed into the country given the threat of terrorism.
Under an executive order Trump signed earlier this year, the United States had temporarily halted admissions for refugees from all countries, with some exceptions. That order expired Tuesday and was replaced by the new one.
Officials declined to describe the new screening procedures in detail, but they include such measures as collecting additional information to better determine whether refugees are being truthful about their status, stationing fraud detection officers at certain locations overseas and improving training for adjudicators who process refugee applications.
Trump has made limiting immigration a centrepiece of his policy agenda.
Besides the travel ban, which initially targeted a handful of Muslim-majority nations, the president rescinded an Obama-era executive action protecting immigrants brought to the country as minors from deportation. He also has vowed to build a wall along the border with Mexico.
During the presidential campaign, Trump pledged to “stop the massive inflow of refugees” and warned that terrorists were smuggling themselves into naive countries by posing as refugees fleeing war-torn Syria.
“Thousands of refugees are being admitted with no way to screen them and are instantly made eligible for welfare and free health care, even as our own veterans, our great, great veterans, die while they’re waiting online for medical care that they desperately need,” Trump said last October.
Trump has advocated keeping refugees closer to their homes.”
US to restrict refugees from 11 countries in new Trump order (france24, Oct 25, 2017)

Opponents of the bans argued that the policies were aimed at barring Muslims from the United States.
The administration has denied any intent to discriminate and says its travel ban and security changes are meant to protect the United States from terrorist acts.
The Supreme Court on Tuesday dismissed the last remaining challenge to an earlier version of Trump’s travel ban.
Country list
The 11 countries to face further hurdles are those whose refugees are currently required to undergo higher-level security screening known as Security Advisory Opinions, or SAOs.
As of the end of 2016, SAOs were required for most adult male refugees who were nationals of Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Libya, Mali, North Korea, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Syria and Yemen, as well as Palestinians who lived in those countries, according to a State Department document seen by Reuters.
Three sources familiar with refugee processing said that list was still current. Officials declined to name the 11 countries.
A senior U.S. official told reporters on condition of anonymity that during the 90-day review period, refugees from the 11 countries can still be admitted to the United States on a case-by-case basis, “if it’s deemed to be in the national interest and they pose no threat.”
But the administration’s memo, signed by Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, acting Department of Homeland Security Secretary Elaine Duke and Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats, said the government will reallocate resources used to process refugees from SAO countries to those from other locations where “the processing may not be as resource intensive.”
Refugees International, an advocacy group, said the decision amounted to “a new and near-total ban on admission of refugees from 11 nationality groups.”
Citizens of the 11 countries comprised 44 percent of the nearly 54,000 refugees admitted into the United States in the 2017 fiscal year, according to State Department data. Of the countries, Iraq, Syria, Somalia and Iran sent by far the most refugees to the United States.
All but two of the countries, North Korea and South Sudan, are majority Muslim, though many of the refugees that come from those countries are religious minorities in their own states. Of nearly 2,600 Iranian refugees resettled in the United States last year, for instance, a majority were Christian, according to State Department data.
The “follow-to-join” refugee program being put on hold allows refugees who have entered the United States to apply for close family members to join them. About 2,000 such refugee family members came to the United States in 2015, according to DHS data.
In a separate State Department memo seen by Reuters and issued this week, the administration also laid out additional screening for all refugees seeking admission into the United States, including details of their whereabouts going back a decade, twice as long as before.
Refugees will also have to provide more detailed information about their family members.
The new requirements could put an additional burden on refugees fleeing war, famine or ethnic cleansing, whose lives have often been upended and whose family members may be scattered across the world, refugee advocates said.”
Turkey activists in Amnesty case to stand trial (france24, Oct 25, 2017)
http://www.france24.com/en/20171025-turkey-activists-amnesty-case-stand-trial
“Eleven human rights activists, including the two top figures with Amnesty International in Turkey, are due to go on trial Wednesday on contested terror charges, seen by the rights watchdog as a test case for the judiciary.
All bar two of the activists — who include two foreigners — have been behind bars since a police raid in July on a workshop run by Amnesty on a popular island off Istanbul.
They face up to 15 years in jail if convicted after the trial at Istanbul’s main court.
The accused include the director of Amnesty Turkey Idil Eser, who was detained in the raid by police on the workshop on the island of Buyukada.
Also going on trial is Amnesty’s Turkey chair Taner Kilic, who was detained in June and whose case has been merged with that of the other 10 activists as prosecutors claimed he was aware of preparations for the workshop.
He has been charged with membership of an armed terror group while the others are charged with “aiding” an armed terror group…”
Berlin security staff pushed young refugees into prostitution: report (DW, Oct 25, 2017)
http://www.dw.com/en/berlin-security-staff-pushed-young-refugees-into-prostitution-report/a-41098593
“Young refugees, including minors, have been lured into prostitution by the security guards hired to protect them. Insiders have told a German public broadcaster the guards pay high prices for young refugees.
Security workers at Berlin’s refugee accommodation centers are pushing young refugees into prostitution, public broadcaster ZDF reported on Tuesday.
Social workers, refugees and security company insiders told the German-language “Frontal 21” program that security employees were even pimping out minors as part of a prostitution ring.
The guards reportedly meet with young refugees and convince them to take up prostitution, earning a commission for each liaison. The guards targeted young, male refugees for the high prices they earned when selling their body.
“They need to be of a certain age, attractive. From 16 years and up; the younger they are, the more expensive they are,” a security guard told the program.
One guard told the broadcaster he earns €?20 ($24) for each prostitution referral.
Desperate for money
The statements were corroborated by several refugees in the center. A 20-year-old male Afghan asylum seeker, whose refugee application was rejected, said a security guard approached him with an offer.
“Want to do business? Earn money,” he was reportedly asked. “The security guard told me you get €?30 for sex with a woman, maybe ?€40.” He said he was ashamed of what he had to do, but that he had to earn money.
A social worker at a refugee home in Berlin Wilmersdorf said she had been monitoring the dealings of security guards with the refugees. She told ZDF she saw a guard give money to residents. When she mentioned it to the home’s residents, the prostitution and pimping was confirmed, including among minors.
Berlin’s Department for Integration, Labor and Social Affairs told news outlets that the suspicion of organized prostitution in the center was being taken seriously. The ministry told Berliner Morgenpost (German language) that they could not find any evidence of the ring but would nonetheless work to stamp it out…”

Kurdish authority freezes referendum to ‘avoid war’ with Iraq government (alaraby, Oct 25, 2017)
https://www.alaraby.co.uk/english/news/2017/10/24/kurdish-authority-freezes-referendum-to-avoid-war-with-baghdad
“The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) in Erbil said on Tuesday it had frozen the results of a referendum that overwhelmingly backed Kurdish independence to avoid war with the Iraqi government.
“As Iraq and Kurdistan are faced with grave and dangerous circumstances, we are all obliged to act responsibly to avoid further violence and clashes between Iraqi and Peshmerga forces”, a statement from the KRG said late Tuesday [GMT].
The statement follows tensions between Baghdad and Erbil that build up over the 25 September referendum in Kurdish territories.
This led to pro-Iraqi government forces seizing the disputed city of Kirkuk as they drove towards the Kurdish capital Erbil.
KRG officials said it had proposed to Baghdad an “immediate ceasefire and halt of all military operations… [a] freeze in the results of the referendum… [and to] begin dialogue between the Baghdad and Erbil”.
“We want to undo what the terrorists have done” Iraqi Prime Minister Haidar al-Abadi said.
“We have victory over the terrorists, but that true victory is to undo whatever they have done by working together, by being homogeneous, even if we are different”, he added.
This comes hours after parliament in Iraq’s autonomous Kurdish region decided to hold legislative elections in eight months, after they were delayed amid tensions over territories claimed by Erbil and the central government in Baghdad.
Simultaneous legislative and presidential elections in the Kurdish region had been due to take place on 1 November but were delayed.
More to follow…”

THE MISINFORMATION AND MALFEASANCE OF MEDIA MYTHS
CBS – “We’re not at war with Islam. We’re at war with radicals”
https://vladtepesblog.com/2017/10/23/readers-links-oct-23-2017/comment-page-1/#comment-382498
(Hat Tip: Martin)
From the video: However dedicated, sincere, and well-meaning Tamer Elnoury may be, his position is (unfortunately), as Brigitte Gabriel would put it, “irrelevant“—if not rather counterproductive—with respect to the cause of eliminating violent Islamic jihad.
This senescent, geriatric trope of, “We’re not at war with Islam. We’re at war with radicals”, plus the long-ago-discredited “Lone Wolf” myth, both need to be held under until the bubbles stop coming up. Any perpetuation of these two egregiously disingenuous memes is rapidly becoming a form of outright treason against the West.
As an original, leading member of the Muslim Brotherhood, Sayyid Qutb’s declaration that most Muslims are takfir (i.e., impure or apostates worthy of death) is a statement that should have set off blaring klaxons throughout Europe and America. Only complete—if not bigoted and voluntary—Western ignorance, along with the relative impoverishment of Islamic nations (at that time), minimized whatever erstwhile penalty for this contemptuous indifference that would eventually help facilitate the 9-11 Atrocity.
One of the primary conclusions to be drawn from Qutb’s statement is that all “true believers” are radicals. From: Qutbism
Make no mistake about how deeply embedded this characterization of takfir is in the average Muslim’s consciousness.
There is no great leap of the imagination required to equate takfir with the sharia concept of haram (i.e., the perception of “that which is prohibited”)—a distinction that permeates almost every waking moment of a devout Muslim’s life. As an example, piety and doctrinal purity are, at the very least, principal drivers of the Sunni – Shiite schism whose ideological fratricide has claimed countless millions of Muslim lives (plus all-too many others) throughout Islam’s incarnadine history of malevolent intramural festivities.
A secondary aspect of this is that ALL Muslims are confronted with an ideological “ladder” whose upward rungs inexorably lead to terrorism and jihad. Be it active operations, financial support, or doctrinal incitement, these are mere analogues of the heat, fuel, and oxygen needed to initiate and sustain fire (or jihadist fury).
Exposure to dogmatic ideological programming—such as memorization of the Koran, or five-times-daily prayer—can only serve to usher more of these susceptible individuals up that ladder of fundamentalism. Nowhere does this apply more than with idealistic young minds that are supremely impressionable and at risk with respect to radicalization. Few better proofs of this exist than the tendency of second or third generation immigrant Muslims to be far more (violently) zealous than their elders.
This entire video clip is a superlative example of why all of us must remain committed to, changing one mind at a time. There is no alternative. Anyone with a contrary opinion is invited to speak up.
Please consider a rather peculiar analogy: In aviation engineering failure analysis, there is something that is called, “The Last Rivet”. As in, at what point does an airframe undergo irreversible, catastrophic collapse? In precise terms; which exact rivet is it whose final and eventual breakdown caused the entire aircraft to crash?
While not always a single rivet (much less a wing spar, turbine or actuator), the analogy holds true and FAA investigators devote countless millions of dollars each year in their search for that proverbial, “Last Rivet”.
Odd as it may sound, changing (even just) “one mind at a time” is akin to strengthening those “last (single) rivets”—in our community fabric and social cohesion. The more that we in the counterjihad can persuade those at risk of Islamic persecution to protest Muslim oppression, the greater opportunities there will be to have these same newly recruited dissenters play a sometimes unexpected role in whatever seemingly random intervention that prevents further incursions of sharia law in Western lands.
Be it through advocacy of gun ownership, outspoken defense of Free Speech, a refusal to accept creeping sharia, or merely promoting whatever shift in voting patterns … all of these various aspects represent those “last rivets” that did not fail. Difficult as it may be to believe, the continuance of Western Civilization may well depend upon these minuscule, yet vital parts as they increasingly come into play.
This also is an important reason to maintain a global perspective regarding Islamic jihad (and opposition to it). It is almost impossible to predict when a specific story-angle will suddenly grab a new reader’s attention and gain their interest in learning more.
While difficult to maintain, keeping the information at a very granular level ups the odds of snagging someone’s attention. The “finer-grained” the better—all of which is why engaging the widest scope of citizen journalists remains such a priority. The more contributors, effectively, the more “rivets”. Although there is a maximum of how many rivets can be placed on a given lift surface or fuselage, it’s safe to say that the counterjihad is nowhere near approaching that sort of “upper limit”.
This is an important reason why maintaining a degree of “conversational” exchange—here at Vlad Tepes Blog (and everywhere else—is so critical to the counterjihad’s overall success. If new arrivals experience a warmly welcoming (and explanatory) atmosphere, the odds of that person returning, much less encouraging others, to participate further skyrockets. Such word-of-mouth “advertising” is priceless beyond all words. Any marketing expert will confirm this.
Of similar importance is using the “one mind at a time” approach to begin creating an environment where genuinely non-violent Muslims (or apostates) experience a degree of quasi-security (from their zealously violent coreligionists). With that bit of utopic hallucinating aside, the sad truth is that large Islamic populations consistently represent such an unvarying threat to enlightened Western societies, that even this seemingly benign strategy remains wholly inadequate to the task.
Equally significant is that those at the top rung of this probative ideological ladder are, just as frequently, individuals who are most willing to impose harsh punishments for even slight (or merely perceived) transgressions of sharia law. For this reason, regardless of how large (a less-than-majority) “Muslim” population might seem to be easy-going or ostensibly “moderate”, when push-comes-to-shove, any pretense of willing coexistence will vaporize—if only for the sake of self-preservation from the devout (and typically violent) fundamentalist enforcers within their own ranks.
SIDEBAR: One chief aspect of Islam is that its ideological hierarchy purposefully eschews much in the way of (even) quasi-official ranks or echelons. As in, there is no “pope” or supreme authority that can be appealed to in times of imperative need. While this may give Islam a marginally-credible or egalitarian air, there remains an odor of premeditated, colorable explanation. This dislocation of central authority enables “plausible deniability” when it most suits those who would dearly love to avoid any blame for causing the greatest harm. There are few better examples than the 9-11 Atrocity.
Consider this quote from Richard Fernandez’s brilliant (and easily searched) 2003 magnum opus, “The Three Conjectures”.
This is the very unhappy (and inevitable, not to mention, richly deserved) ending for Islam.
Be it America, Europe, Russia, China, India, Israel—or even just newly rearming nations like Japan, South Korea or Taiwan—Islam, with Pakistan and Iran in particular (along with their red-handed accomplice, North Korea), all are painting themselves into an inescapable strategic corner that will spell doom for Muslims and their treacherous practice of Da’wah.
As yucki noted:
“We’ve got plenty of native speakers of Arabic, Persian, Urdu.
There should be waiting lists for volunteers to fight terrorism within these communities.”
Why there aren’t any lists of this sort is testimony to the upcoming and tragically avoidable devastation that awaits Islam and its accomplices.
Whatever inability there is for this world’s Muslims to oppose the existing constraints that inhibit current anti-terrorist efforts will carry with them tragic outcomes that I am no longer capable of expressing the least sympathy for.
Pauvre petite!
If the “terrorists” use any WMD on one US city the politicians will be faced with a binary choice, 1) order overwhelming retaliation against the entire Islamic world, or 2) suffer a military mutiny (coup) that will then order the extermination of all living Moslems. Any military member of the deep state will forced to go along with the coup to save their own lives.
I full expect one bio war attack in future and possibly the near future. bio weapons are cheaper to produce,’ t need massive installation to produce and are easier to smuggle into a nation and use. And given the modern attitude towards of common sense rule that would limit the spread of the epidemic they will probably kill sevral orders of magnitude more people.

Kaspersky says it obtained suspected NSA hacking code from U.S. computer (reuters, Oct 25, 2017)
http://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-security-kaspersky-russia/kaspersky-says-it-obtained-suspected-nsa-hacking-code-from-u-s-computer-idUSKBN1CU0TN
“Moscow-based Kaspersky Lab on Wednesday acknowledged that its security software had taken source code for a secret American hacking tool from a personal computer in the United States.
The admission came in a statement from the embattled company that described preliminary results from an internal inquiry it launched into media reports that the Russian government used Kaspersky anti-virus software to collect National Security Agency technology.
While the explanation is considered plausible by some security experts, U.S. officials who have been campaigning against using Kaspersky software on sensitive computers are likely to seize on the admission that the company took secret code that was not endangering its customer to justify a ban.
Fears about Kaspersky’s ties to Russian intelligence, and the capacity of its anti-virus software to sniff out and remove files, prompted an escalating series of warnings and actions from U.S. authorities over the past year. They culminated in the Department of Homeland Security last month barring government agencies from using Kaspersky products.
In a statement, the company said it stumbled on the code a year earlier than the recent newspaper reports had it, in 2014. It said logs showed that the consumer version of Kaspersky’s popular product had been analyzing questionable software from a U.S. computer and found a zip file that was flagged as malicious.
While reviewing the file’s contents, an analyst discovered it contained the source code for a hacking tool later attributed to what Kaspersky calls the Equation Group. The analyst reported the matter to Chief Executive Eugene Kaspersky, who ordered that the company’s copy of the code be destroyed, the company said.
“Following a request from the CEO, the archive was deleted from all our systems,” the company said. It said no third parties saw the code, though the media reports had said the spy tool had ended up in Russian government hands.
The Wall Street Journal said on Oct. 5 that hackers working for the Russian government appeared to have targeted the NSA worker by using Kaspersky software to identify classified files. The New York Times reported on Oct. 10 that Israeli officials reported the operation to the United States after they hacked into Kaspersky’s network.
Kaspersky did not say whether the computer belonged to an NSA worker who improperly took home secret files, which is what U.S. officials say happened. Kaspersky denied the Journal’s report that its programs searched for keywords including “top secret.”
The company said it found no evidence that it had been hacked by Russian spies or anyone except the Israelis, though it suggested others could have obtained the tools by hacking into the American’s computer through a back door it later spotted there.
The new 2014 date of the incident is intriguing, because Kaspersky only announced its discovery of an espionage campaign by the Equation Group in February 2015. At that time, Reuters cited former NSA employees who said that Equation Group was an NSA project.
Kaspersky’s Equation Group report was one of its most celebrated findings, since it indicated that the group could infect firmware on most computers. That gave the NSA almost undetectable presence.
Kaspersky later responded via email to a question by Reuters to confirm that the company had first discovered the so-called Equation Group programs in the spring of 2014.
It also did not say how often it takes uninfected, non-executable files, which normally would pose no threat, from users’ computers.
Former employees told Reuters in July that the company used that technique to help identify suspected hackers. A Kaspersky spokeswoman at the time did not explicitly deny the claim but complained generally about “false allegations.”
After that, the stories emerged suggesting that Kaspersky was a witting or unwitting partner in espionage against the United States.
Kaspersky’s consumer anti-virus software has won high marks from reviewers.
It said Monday that it would submit the source code of its software and future updates for inspection by independent parties.”
“The admission came in a statement from the embattled company that described preliminary results from an internal inquiry it launched into media reports that the Russian government used Kaspersky anti-virus software to collect National Security Agency technology.”
Ermmm … why is Kaspersky still allowed to do business in the USA?
Clinton campaign, DNC helped pay for work on dossier about Russia and Trump
The dossier has become a lightning rod amid the intensifying investigations into the Trump campaign’s possible connections to Russia.
The Hillary Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee (DNC) helped fund research that resulted in a now-famous dossier containing allegations about Donald Trump’s connections to Russia and possible coordination between his campaign and the Kremlin, people familiar with the matter said.
Marc Elias, a lawyer representing the Clinton campaign and the DNC, retained Fusion GPS, a Washington, D.C., firm, to conduct the research. Fusion GPS hired dossier author Christopher Steele, a former British intelligence officer with ties to the FBI and the U.S. intelligence community.
Elias and his law firm, Seattle-based Perkins Coie, retained the firm in April 2016 on behalf of the Clinton campaign and the DNC. Before that agreement, Fusion GPS’ research into Trump was funded by a still unknown Republican client during the GOP primary.

Things are breaking loose and facts are coming out, there are 5 new investigations into what happened. That is the good news now for the bad news, Congress can investigate all it wants but no matter what they find they can’t prosecute anyone, I repeat they can’t prosecute anyone. Congress has to send the information discovered to the Department of Justice and the Department of Justice hs to prosecute. This fact has a lot of people screaming because the prior investigations resulted in no prosecution. I never expected any prosecutions from the Obama DOJ, and given the number of Obama people embedded in the Trump DOJ we are going to have to wait until there is a massive public reaction against the Democrats before we get many prosecution.
The way facts about Democrat corruption are coming out is one of the reasons that antifa and others are planning a day of age on November 4. They want to get the civil war going big time before enough evidence comes out to warrant the arrest of the high ranking members of the Obama administration.
I agree. I’m not going to be bought off this time with posturing Congress-critters. DoJ doesn’t step up, PT-45 cleans house.

US sends THIRD aircraft carrier near North Korea in shock war move
A THIRD aircraft carrier has arrived near North Korea in a shocking move amid growing fears of war with Kim Jong-un.
The 100,000-ton warship and its strike group joins the two carriers amid fears of war with North Korea.
Each vessel is accompanied with a cohort of destroyers and submarines, and USS Ronald Reagan has been carrying out war drills since last week.
It is unprecdented to three aircraft carriers in the region at one time, and is a huge gathering of US sea power.
Meanwhile, missile boss Thomas Kennedy assured Americans that Kim’s missile can be shot down before they reach the US.

If yes when will it happen? After the maintenance on the B52s is finished.
When will that be?

Appleby, a firm based in Bermuda with offices in many tax havens, said it was in the process of warning clients that they may be implicated in a massive leak of sensitive information.
It is understood the leak involves some of Britain’s wealthiest people, who were instructing lawyers and public relations companies in an effort to protect their reputations.
The disclosure of the leak also threatens to call into question the status of several British Overseas Territories which can offer tax benefits to the very wealthy. If questionable activities or conduct are exposed,

The Supreme Court just killed the challenge to Trump’s refugee ban
By LU Staff October 25, 2017
The U.S. Supreme Court dismissed the second and final challenge to President Donald Trump’s executive order on refugees and migrants Tuesday, concluding that the expiration of a 120-day ban on refugee resettlement ended the controversy.
The dismissal ends a protracted round of litigating around the president’s order that was replaced in late September by a new round of travel sanctions against eight countries. Those sanctions have been challenged in separate litigation which is still ongoing.
The justices dismissed the first travel ban case Oct. 10. That case arose in Maryland and concerned the order’s 90-day ban on the entry of migrants from six countries with high instances of terrorism.
The justices concluded that the ban’s expiration effectively “mooted” the case. Federal courts are only empowered to hear ongoing controversies where their action can affect an outcome. When the controversy concludes and renders further court action irrelevant, the case is considered moot and is thereafter dismissed.

Non-exploding bombshell: Clinton campaign, DNC paid for ‘Trump dossier’
By J.E. Dyer October 24,
To no one’s surprise, the Washington Post reported on Tuesday that in April 2016, the Democratic National Committee and the Hillary Clinton campaign effectively took over paying for the assembly of the “dodgy dossier” on Donald Trump.
The WaPo reporters cite “people familiar with the matter.”
The narrative continues to be that an unnamed Republican rival launched the dossier’s career during the primaries (thought to be as early as sometime in late 2015). The constant throughout the project was Fusion GPS, the consulting firm that contracted with retired British MI6 operative Christopher Steele to do the research.
In April 2016, Fusion GPS was retained by the law firm Perkins Coie, through attorney Marc Elias, to continue the work on the dossier. In making this move, Perkins Coie was acting on behalf of its clients, the DNC and the Clinton campaign.
New York Times reporters Kenneth P. Vogel and Maggie Haberman reacted to the WaPo story with some indignation, both pointing out that Marc Elias (and possibly others) had told a different story for months, claiming that Hillary and the DNC had nothing to do with the dossier.

HuffPost doesn’t want to ‘Listen to America’ — it wants to lecture to us
By Benny Huang October 25, 2017
The online newspaper HuffPost will wrap up its Listen to America Tour on October 30.
The project’s website strongly hinted that the six-week bus journey through places most HuffPost contributors would never have otherwise visited was intended to bridge the gap between red-state Americans and the media. It has failed miserably.
In this regard HuffPost reminds me of a junkie who claims to have gotten sober merely to win back his family’s trust. In reality the junkie is still sneaking around and getting high behind the woodshed when he thinks no one’s looking. HuffPost never, ever changes. Ever.
The Listen to America Tour did not listen to America. It lectured to America — about our bigotry, our xenophobia, our “Islamophobia,” and most of all about our “homophobia.” It rolled from city to city writing about issues that HuffPost editors care about rather than trying to hear locals’ concerns. The series was tone deaf and condescending.
HuffPost compounded its false advertising when it broke its promise to explore what unites us as a country. Even before one mile had registered on the bus’s odometer, editor-in-chief Lydia Polgreen wrote: “But at HuffPost, we believe there’s still so much that unites us as citizens. We aim to discover and highlight all that, and show what Americans have in common.”

VICE NEWS – The Mafia And A Nigerian Gang Are Targeting Refugees In Sicily
They’ve fled violence, poverty, and terrorism – and made the often perilous journey across the Mediterranean from Africa and the Middle East. But for the more than 100,000 migrants who’ve arrived in Italy so far this year, the life that awaits them can be almost as dangerous as the one they left behind.
This is particularly true for economic migrants, who don’t have the same legal status as refugees, and aren’t given the same work permits or financial aid to help them survive. Barred from the legal workforce, and with few financial options, many are targeted by criminal gangs — supported by the Italian mafia — and thrust into a life of sex slavery and drug trafficking.
That’s what VICE News discovered after visiting Ballarò, a small market area, and traditional mafia stronghold near Palermo, Sicily, where the infamous Cosa Nostra mafia syndicate continues to wield power.

Editor’s note: As revealed in recent congressional testimony, Students for Justice in Palestine is a campus front for Hamas terrorists. SJP’s propaganda activities are orchestrated and funded by a Hamas front group, American Muslims for Palestine, whose chairman is Hatem Bazian and whose principals are former officers of the Holy Land Foundation and other Islamic “charities” previously convicted of funneling money to Hamas.
The David Horowitz Freedom Center is naming the “Top Ten Worst Schools that Support Terrorists.” The latest school to be named to this list is the University of Houston which will host the National Students for Justice in Palestine Conference on October 27-29, 2017. The report and posters are part of a larger Freedom Center campaign titled Stop University Support for Terrorists.
Images of the posters that appeared at the University of Houston and other campuses named to the list may be viewed at http://www.stopuniversitysupportforterrorists.org. Coinciding with the naming of the University of Houston to this list, the Freedom Center placed posters on the UH campus exposing the links between Students for Justice in Palestine and the terrorist organization Hamas, whose stated goal is the destruction of the Jewish state. Freedom Center founder David Horowitz will speak on the Houston campus on November 2nd.
University of Houston:
The University of Houston is home to an increasing radical and Hamas-promoting chapter of Students for Justice in Palestine, as is shown by the choice of that campus to host SJP’s2017 National Conference, a restricted event that spreads hatred of the Jews and teaches Hamas propaganda techniques to SJP chapters who attend from across America. UH SJP and MSA co-hosted an event featuring Sheikh Omar Suleiman who has publicly supported a “3rd Intifada” and SJP has also hosted anti-Israel poet Remi Kanazi who promotes the Hamas-backed BDS movement against Israel. UH SJP also hosts annual “Israeli Apartheid” hate weeks featuring a mock Israeli “apartheid wall” plastered with Hamas propaganda including the genocidal slogan “From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be Free” and blood libel claiming that Israel targets Palestinian children for slaughter.

Another Florida Latino Islamic Convert Tries to Bomb for ISIS
“Kill our enemies and convert to Islam now in USA.”
October 25, 2017
Daniel Greenfield
“The racist president who is a supremacist — white, who does not like Blacks, does not like the Chinese, he does not like the Muslims, he doesn’t like the Hispanics,” Vicente Adolfo Solano declared in Spanish, standing in front an ISIS flag. “In the name of Allah and our leader, Abu, we are going to defeat you.”
Solano, a 53-year-old Honduran living in Miami, seemed like an unlikely candidate to join ISIS.
But there he is on video lashing out at President Trump. Solano was resentful over his “temporary immigration status”. Hondurans living in the United States had been automatically converted to “refugees” after Hurricane Mitch in 1999. Temporary Protected Status for the eighteen year hurricane refugees expires in Jan 2018. And President Trump appears unwilling to extend it any further.
Even if Solano was here under TPS, he should still have been deported due to his criminal record. But instead he remained here, and was so furious at the country that had taken him in that he joined ISIS.

New York Times: “What Killed the Promise of Muslim Communism?”
October 25, 2017
Daniel Greenfield
Every time I think we’ve hit Peak Left, the left goes one better. Or to paraphrase Michelle Obama, when they go low, we do a series celebrating an ideology of mass murder.
While at the New York Times, that’s been Communism. The old red lady has a series trying to reconcile Communism with modern lefty trends like environmentalism and feminism. And Islam.
“What Killed the Promise of Muslim Communism?” asks the Times.
Same thing that killed the promise of kale and New Coke in a blender. Or the Hitler-Stalin pact.
Communism is an atheistic utopian movement that believes in killing and subjugating everyone. Islam is like that. Except without the atheism. You can see a certain conflict here. And by “you”, I mean anyone who isn’t a leftist. Because leftists can’t see obvious conflicts like this. Just beautiful genocidal dreams that might have been.

Khilafah Conference 2009 – Hizb ut-Tahrir America
Sure. Using the derogatory Marxist terminology, “capitalism” collapses when tribes are forced to circle their respective wagons/tents to protect kith and kin. Collective welfare is paramount, individuals are worth less.
Pirates (soulless hyenas) prey on anybody who attempts to trade goods or services between camps. Too primitive to accommodate a _free market_ economy. Or much else that’s “free” – like thinking and expression.
Islam holds captive the population of subjugated tribes, the peoples huddled in identity collectives for mutual survival. The commune is vanquished by the Tard. Always.
The laws are both arbitrary and idiosyncratic, absurd hypocrisy. In fact, the Tard in Chief rules by whim. He’ll call himself “Sheik” or “Pasha” or – more grandly – “Sultan” or “Caliph”. His consigliere can pick anything he chooses from the excrement compiled as “holy writ”: Koran, Sunna, Hadith. That’s what they call – spit – Law.

Las Vegas shooter’s laptop missing its hard drive
A laptop computer recovered from the Las Vegas hotel room where Stephen Paddock launched the deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history was missing its hard drive, depriving investigators of a potential key source of information on why he killed and maimed so many people, ABC News has learned.
Paddock is believed to have removed the hard drive before fatally shooting himself, and the missing device has not yet been recovered, sources told ABC News.
Investigators digging into Paddock’s background also learned he purchased software designed to erase files from a hard drive, but without the hard drive to examine it is impossible to know if he ever used the software, one source said.
The absence of substantial digital clues has left investigators struggling to piece together what triggered Paddock to kill 58 innocent concertgoers and injure more than 500 others on Oct. 1.
Authorities are examining every aspect of Paddock’s life — from his family, friends and associates to his travel patterns, health and finances. So far, a motive has been elusive to investigators.
The frequent gambler, described as a loner, spent months amassing his arsenal, staying under the radar with no one suspecting he would turn to extreme violence.
His finances did not appear to be a problem and Paddock had settled any debts he had with casinos shortly before the attack, a source said.

Why Did Obama Inc. Let Russian Nuke Exec Under FBI Investigation Enter US?
October 25, 2017
Daniel Greenfield
know the University of Hawaii needs grad students badly, but this is ridiculous.
The background is Rosatom and Uranium One. The Clintons were getting lots of money from the latter and the former was a Russian state corporation that used the latter to gain control of a big chunk of our uranium. Rosatom got the green light while Hillary was at State despite the FBI investigation of a top Rosatom figure for bribery, extortion and other forms of Clintonesque behavior.
And here our story picks up.

The pipe dream of peacefully integrating self-proclaimed “refugees” from Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan and other terrorist prone countries into European society is falling apart. Germany, which led the way in opening the floodgates to such refugees, has become a leading incubator of jihadist-inspired terrorism in Europe. Prosecutors in Germany have opened up approximately four times as many terrorism-related cases this year so far than during all of 2016, and more than ten times than in 2013. There are at least 705 Islamists in the country said to be willing to carry out a terrorist attack, with thousands of more Islamists also present in the country. Germany’s federal police (BKA) chief, Holger Münch, has said that the terrorist threat posed by jihadists is far graver than any threat from domestic terrorists on the left or the right.

According to our information, 420 fraudulent transfers were uncovered in 2016. Exploring the financial lane, the specialized group of the Criminal Brigade has uncovered a sprawling international case of fundraisers used to finance the Islamic State. Given the scale of the case, the General Directorate for Internal Security (DGSI), the Counter-Terrorism Branch (Sdat), the Central Office in charge of serious financial crime (Ocrgdf) but also Europol were also solicited. Acting as part of a preliminary investigation opened since November 2015, the police have identified no less than 210 Turkish and Lebanese collectors.
In total, the traffic would involve an overall amount of more than 2 million euros, of which 500,000 euros would have left France between mid-2012 and mid-2017. According to a final score, 190 French shippers were identified. Since then, Europe has organized itself to give warning in case of transfer of suspicious funds. For the aid unduly obtained, the police made sure to turn off the tap by communicating to the abused social organizations the names of beneficiaries who disappeared from the national territory.
