    • Much like all those nettlesome Somalian pirates, the incredibly precise satellite surveillance data of Western powers clearly enables their counterintelligence agencies to identify the precise location of Boko Haram turds, al Shabab excreta, and every other drone-magnet-of-the-week buncha cretinous, mass-murdering, gang-raping, pedophilic, necrophiliac, child-molesting, misogynistic, amputative, Antisemitic, authoritarian, barbaric, bestial, castrating, child-abusing, coercive, cognitively-dissonant, controlling, corrupt, deceitful, dictatorial, divisive, dynastic, enslaving, equivocal, exclusionary, genocidal, goat-humping, homophobic, hostile, ignorant, inbred, intolerant, Invasive, Iron-Age, lying, marauding, mass-murdering, mendacious, misogynistic, mutilating, necrophilic, obsessive, oppressive, parasitic, perverted, petulant, pillaging, piratical, plundering, predatory, preferential, pretentious, preying, pro-Hitler, rapacious, raping, semi-retarded, terrorist, Theocratic, threatening, thuggish, Totalitarian, treacherous, truculent, tyrannous, uncooperative, unproductive, useless, vampiric, vicious, victimizing, violent, virulent, vulturine, xenophobic, assemblage that ever pretended to be worthy of the term, “culture”.

Laying waste to these clusters of oxygen thieves is something that even a West Point Strategy 101 class would regard as remedial subject matter, at best.

Why First World militaries even have the slightest compunction about converting these terrorist enclaves into hectares of smoking, bouncing rubble can only point back at the politicians who insist how the flower of American enlisted youth are better sacrificed on the altar of Political Correctness, rather than end this macabre Grand Guignol.

Western politicians who vote for this endless and futile “War on Terrorism” should be forced to have their own fighting-aged children conscripted (without any waivers) to dig in at the front-line trenches that these craven scumbags have so assiduously avoided.

The Mind of Muhammad is a very disturbed one. Like the Communists, dangerous to their own followers and of course to everyone else.
They cannot let anyone live unmolested.

And the point of politician’s children joint the Armed Services… the UK Queen is a shining example.

The Mind of Muhammad is a very disturbed one.

Dear Perfectchild, this is a place where we cannot possibly disagree (if only for obvious issues of simple definition). The “Mind of Muhammad” (however twisted and demented) is NOT “disturbed“.

This aforementioned “mind” (of Mohammad) is the ostensible psyche of someone so entirely deranged from, and alienated with respect to, any genuine human love arising from compassion or sincere care to where notions of tolerance, concern, coexistence or consideration all fade into insignificance.

The entirety of this problem goes so far beyond any notion of “sad”, as to properly evoke all sense of typical sorrow or common regret.

        • Not “sad” but disturbed.

Their pride of self-validation is to change the world into their own image. This is no different from anyone from the LGBTQ+ experience of capitulation to support the pride of their own resentment.

To those who hate Muhammad and his current crop of muhammadans, I would say they too were disturbed (and not sad), because they dance to the same rhythm.

        • So a disturbed mind is when Muhammad went to his first wife and said ‘mommy, I hear voices in my head.’ And she, being like the classic New Age Feminist with her toyboy, said they were real.

For any dictator to sleep peacefully, people must be turned into liars and haters.
By this comparison the leaders think themselves angelic.

  3. ‘Taking the knee – the victim mindset’ – Bombard.
    https://youtu.be/TbFYiPEZ8gU

Psychologists who speak of the female mind as neurotic could just as easily be speaking of the male brain as psychotic. Socialism and Islam reflect these two distinct paranoias, demanding control through social fairness or a top-down submission. Fear of their own identity, or voice of authority, being exposed as a charade.

Their pursuits of peace therefore, (where there is no peace), is to be recognized as a superior being in Socialism or islam; to the end results of Communism or Muhammadism, ruled by a validator who despises these triggered dhimmiwits.

What I see in Bombard, is the intuitive mind. The evolution of the female brain. Rather than the disturbed neurotic. (Because psychologists only see unwell patients).

How great therefore would it be to see a muslim’s mind return to function again? The world freed of over-a-billion willing male slaves who demand the beast in women serve the beast in them. The insightful mind instead of the LGBTQ+M ones.

  4. Imagine my surprise at this headline:

FRENCH CITY WITH 40% MUSLIM POPULATION IS THE MOST DANGEROUS CITY IN EUROPE

“Marseille is sick with its violence,” Interior Minister Manuel Valls said.

The French city of Marseille has an estimated 30 to 40 percent Muslim population and has been ranked as the most dangerous city in Europe.

Muslims have now set up unofficial checkpoints in various parts of Marseilles. Anyone entering “their” area has to stop and submit to inspection. Last week, the driver of a van belonging to a food bank, which distributes free food and drink to poor people, was stopped by a group of “jeunes” when trying to enter the Marseilles district of “Air-Bel”. The road had been barred with concrete blocks and bins filled with sand. They searched his vehicle “like policemen applying the law in their territory” in order to “check there weren’t any policemen inside”. When they saw he only had milk, they let him pass through.

    • More news from France…..

France and other EU countries criminalize wolf-whistling & asking women for their phone number

“Fulfilling a pledge Emmanuel Macron had made during his presidential election campaign last year, the government of France is declaring war on men “harassing” women in public.

Other EU countries, including Belgium and Portugal, had already banned wolf-whistling and other “sexist” “harassing” behavior.

In March 2012, the UK Mirror reported that “wolf-whistling is now set to become a criminal offence” under new EU rules drawn up by the Council of Europe’s convention on violence against women.

The convention’s legislation criminalizes or imposes other sanctions for “unwanted verbal, non-verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature with the purpose or effect of violating the dignity of a person, in particular when creating an intimidating, hostile, degrading, humiliating or offensive environment”. The legislation also outlaws “psychological violence,” compensates victims of domestic abuse, and punishes someone for forcing abortions or sterilization.

The EU rules have the support of at least 18 countries, including Germany and the UK.

  6. U.S. to Curb Russian Military Flights Over American Territory
Officials set to restrict observation missions that are now allowed under Open Skies treaty

WASHINGTON—U.S. officials are preparing to announce restrictions to Russian military flights over American territory under the Treaty on Open Skies in the latest sign of strain in U.S.-Russia relations.

The treaty, part of a suite of arms-control, transparency and confidence-building agreements that proliferated in the late stages of the Cold War, permits its 34 ratified member states to conduct observation flights over each other’s territory while capturing aerial imagery of military personnel and materiel.

Treaty-related tensions intensified over two days in August, when a Russian plane operating under Open Skies flew over U.S. cities including Washington as well as Bedminster, N.J., while President Donald Trump was staying at the Trump National Golf Club in the town.

Elon Musk’s ambitious plan to surround the Earth with thousands of internet-beaming satellites is encountering turbulence from regulators concerned about interference with competing systems.

SpaceX, the rocket startup Musk runs, filed for permission for its constellation of refrigerator-sized satellites late last year. Selling broadband from orbit is a key part of how SpaceX plans to make money beyond its original rocket-launching service.

But the U.S. Federal Communications Commission is poised to deal the project a setback with a decision that could force power reductions on SpaceX satellites, and potentially limit the spectrum they can use, making them less effective.

  8. LePage threatens to remove Maine sheriffs, asks ICE to investigate state’s immigrant group

AUGUSTA, Maine (NEWS CENTER) — In a radio interview with Fox News host Laura Ingraham on Monday, Governor LePage revealed he plans to issue an executive order to remove two sheriffs from their duties who, he claims, say they won’t work with the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Ingraham asked LePage for the latest on refugee resettlement in Maine. He said refugees were still coming in for a while when he first announced Maine was not going to participate in refugee resettlement during the Obama Administration, but “they’re not now.”

“We’ve asked ICE to investigate a few organizations in the state of Maine,” LePage said. “Just last Friday — I’m issuing an executive order right now because we have a couple sheriffs that say they’re not going to work with ICE.”

  9. Robot farmers have successfully planted and harvested barley by themselves

Humans have been cultivating plants for some 10,000 years and, for much of that time, we’ve used beasts of burden to help tend the fields. Just last century, humans turned from animal strength to machine power, leading to huge leaps in agricultural efficiency and scale. Over the past few years, farms have deployed emerging technologies like drones and autonomous driving systems to make the farmers’ job even less strenuous — but human hands were still needed throughout the process.

Now, researchers at Harper Adams University and agricultural company Precision Decisions have removed humans from the farm entirely in a project called Hands Free Hectare. From planting to tending and harvesting, no human stepped foot on the acre and a half barley farm in rural England. It was all done by robot farmers.

  11. Study finds Saudi government still tolerates hate speech (abcnews, Sep 26, 2017)
    http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/study-finds-saudi-government-tolerates-hate-speech-50094499

“The Saudi government continues to tolerate hate speech by some clerics against minority groups while public school textbooks in the kingdom still include language that discriminates against other forms of worship, a new study by Human Rights Watch said Tuesday.

The New York-based watchdog says that despite reform efforts and strong condemnation of attacks against Shiite citizens, Saudi officials have not acted to stamp out hate speech by state-affiliated clerics and government agencies.

The Human Rights Watch report, titled ” They Are Not Our Brothers: Hate Speech by Saudi Officials “, said the Saudi state has permitted government-appointed religious clerics to refer to minority Muslim Shiites in derogatory terms, sometimes rising to the level of hate speech and incitement.

Saudi clerics mostly adhere to an ultraconservative Sunni interpretation of Islam known as Wahhabism — and many view other faiths and variants of Islamic worship as sinful.

The 62-page report said courts also discriminate against Shiites and that school curriculum stigmatizes Shiite and other religious practices. The report said Shiites and Sufis who practice Islam differently to conservative Sunnis in Saudi Arabia are a “prime target of Saudi-sponsored hate speech and intolerant rhetoric.”

Saudi Arabia’s minority Shiites, who live mostly in the kingdom’s eastern region, have long complained of discrimination. Anti-Shiite rhetoric spiked, however, after the Sunni-led kingdom and Shiite-led Iran severed ties last year.

The rivalry between the two regional powers has played out in proxy wars in Syria, Iraq, and Yemen, and has also fueled tensions between Sunnis and Shiites in Bahrain and Lebanon.

The extremist Islamic State group’s branches in the Gulf have targeted Shiites in Kuwait and Saudi Arabia, killing dozens of people in multiple attacks. The group considers Shiites as apostates and refers to them as “rafida” or “rawafid”, which means people who reject Sunni Islam.

The kingdom has strongly condemned the attacks and says the newly-established Department of Public Prosecution in Saudi Arabia has powers to charge offenders who are accused of spreading hate speech and inciting violence on social medial, including anyone who attempts to “foment sectarian violence.”

Still, Saudi clerics — many of whom have millions of followers on Twitter— have frequently referred to Iran’s government, or even Shiites in general, as “rawafid”.

Earlier this year, Saudi Arabia’s heir to the throne, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, ruled out dialogue with Iran, claiming that Tehran’s goal is “to control the Islamic world” and to spread the Shiite doctrine. He said Iran was founded on an “extremist ideology.”

Last year, Saudi Arabia’s most senior cleric, Grand Mufti Abdulaziz Al Sheikh, said Tehran’s leaders are “not Muslims” and said they were descendants of “Majuws”— a term that refers to Zoroastrians and those who worship fire. Zoroastrianism is a monotheistic religion predating Christianity and Islam and was the dominant religion in Persia before the Arab conquest.

Human Rights Watch says given the reach of Saudi Arabia’s clerics, their public anti-Shiite statements are instrumental in discrimination practices against minority citizens in courts and schools.

The report found that the religion curriculum for the 2016-17 schoolyear does not mention Shiites by name, but that it “uses veiled language to stigmatize Shiite religious practices.”

For example, Saudi religious education textbooks criticize visiting graves and shrines to venerate important people, which are common practices among Shiites. The books describe these practices as a form of polytheism.

The textbooks also include similar language toward non-Muslim practices, the report said. Experts critiquing this curriculum have suggested that religious textbooks should instead draw from multiple lines in the Quran that emphasize coexistence, compassion and tolerance.

The Saudi government has responded to such criticisms in the past by establishing a $2.4 billion program in 2007 responsible for curriculum reform, including the training abroad of tens of thousands of Saudi teachers in order to open young Saudi minds.

U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson has also said that one of the initiatives of the Saudi-based Global Center for Combatting Extremist Ideology is to publish new textbooks in Saudi Arabia and in mosques around the world to replace current books that “advocate extreme Wahhabism viewpoints around the justification for violence.””

The four co-defendants also went on trial Tuesday in Celle.

Abu Walaa was the imam at a radical mosque in the northern city of Hildesheim, and also organized “Islam seminars” at mosques elsewhere in Germany.

  13. Cash-Strapped Swedish Police Limited to a Single Patrol Car For 16,000 Square Mile Area (breitbart, Sep 26, 2017)
    http://www.breitbart.com/london/2017/09/26/swedish-police-southern-lapland-limited-single-patrol-car/

“The Swedish police force in southern Lapland, an area the size of Denmark, has been reduced to only one police car due to limited resources leaving officers concerned they will not be able to respond properly to crimes.

The police in the area requested that they should have at least two patrol cars in the large region which has a population of tens of thousands of people. Police management decided that only one car was needed and after local police disputed the judgement in court, a judge has ruled in favour of police management, Swedish broadcaster SVT reports.

Chief Security Officer Jan Johansson said there was a danger for a single patrol car acting alone far from any potential additional police support. He also noted that it would be even more difficult to deal with domestic abuse cases in the area and that officers might not be able to properly respond to them…”

    • Seems that a child with an adding machine could calculate the DAY the white Swedish taxpayers collapse trying to support all the useless Third-world refugees/immigrants/criminals. That day is apparently now.

  15. Footage of Recent Iranian Missile Launch is Fake

Footage released by Iranian state television last Friday showing the country’s latest ballistic missile test is fake.

On Monday, U.S. officials said the video was actually footage from a failed missile test conducted seven months ago.

The latest assessment says U.S. Intelligence picked up no indication of a missile launch in the days surrounding the reported test.

Under the terms of the Iran Nuclear Deal signed by former President Obama the trump administration has until October 15 to decide whether Iran is in compliance with the terms of the agreement.

Meanwhile, European diplomats say they will uphold the international Nuclear Deal with Iran.

Britain, Germany, and France said they will oppose the new sanctions if the U.S. abandons the agreement.

  16. North Korea bolsters defenses after flight by U.S. bombers as rhetoric escalates

SEOUL/BEIJING (Reuters) – North Korea has boosted defenses on its east coast, a South Korean lawmaker said on Tuesday, after the North said U.S. President Donald Trump had declared war and that it would shoot down U.S. bombers flying near the peninsula.

Tensions have escalated since North Korea conducted its sixth and most powerful nuclear test on Sept. 3, but the rhetoric has reached a new level in recent days with leaders on both sides exchanging threats and insults.

North Korean Foreign Minister Ri Yong Ho said Trump’s Twitter comments, in which the U.S. leader said Ri and leader Kim Jong Un “won’t be around much longer” if they acted on their threats, amounted to a declaration of war and that Pyongyang had the right to take countermeasures.

South Korean lawmaker Lee Cheol-uoo, briefed by the country’s spy agency, said the reclusive North was in fact bolstering its defenses by moving aircraft to its east coast and taking other measures after U.S. bombers flew close to the Korean peninsula at the weekend.

Lee said the United States appeared to have disclosed the flight route of the bombers intentionally because North Korea seemed to be unaware.

On Monday, LawNewz reported that Spenser Rapone, an infantry officer in the U.S. Army and a graduate of West Point, issued support for Colin Kaepernick with a message that says, “Communism will win.”:

Rapone posts under the handle @punkproletarian and is a member of the Democratic Socialists of America.

Under the hashtag #VeteransForKaepernick, he tweeted an image of himself raising the left clenched-fist of solidarity, support and resistance as well as the message, “Communism Will Win” taped inside of his West Point uniform cap. Also visible in the photograph is Rapone’s Combat Infantryman Badge–meaning he has fought in active ground combat.

Rapone followed up his initial post with retweeted images of other #VeteransForKaepernick in their combat uniforms.

  18. Goodbye to an old friend
    By J.E. Dyer September 26, 2017

    http://libertyunyielding.com/2017/09/26/goodbye-old-friend/

Monday night, when the Dallas Cowboys came out to kneel theatrically on the field, before (not during) the national anthem, I knew it was time.

On Sunday, the news feeds updated me as team after team made a spectacle of itself. I’d had to turn off the very first game during the anthem. I was hoping to see Dallas, my team since I could first understand a football game, make good on what we’d been told days ago: that owner Jerry Jones told them he wouldn’t have the kneeling.

But Jones was out there with them, kneeling in “solidarity” with the other teams. Sure, it wasn’t during the national anthem. But that’s a technicality, and a wienerly one at that.

It’s defensive triangulation against being in the wrong, magnifying the spirit of criticism and complaint, instead of standing for something that’s right. It’s a technical but spiritless form of “righteousness,” one that every human being sees for the sham it is by the time he’s potty-trained.

“A Leicester man attempted to “indoctrinate” two boys by showing them beheading videos on his phone, a court heard. The man also told the school-age children that members of Isis were not “bad people”.

Zameer Ghumra, a 38-year-old pharmacist, allegedly taught the children how to “survive a bomb attack” and fight with knives, the BBC reported. He is accused of disseminating “terrorist propaganda” in the form of a graphic Twitter video on his mobile phone from January 2013 to September 2014.

Ghumra denies committing a terrorist offence, with the Nottingham Crown Court jury being told he said the boys were put up to make “a false allegation”.

Prosecutor Simon Davis told the court that Ghumra, who was allegedly setting up an Islamic religious school, tried to “radicalise” and “indoctrinate” the boys…”

  20. Grooming ring probe at Glasgow’s four corners after teenagers ‘exploited for sex’ by groups of men (eveningtimes, Sep 26, 2017)
    http://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/news/15556999.amp/

“A PROBE has been launched into an alleged grooming ring targeting teenagers in Glasgow’s city centre.

Girls as young as 14 are thought to have been targeted by men hanging around the four corners area of the city – at the junction of Argyle Street and Union Street.

Officers are investigating the claims after relatives of one of the victims contacted the authorities.

A social work source told the Evening Times the area is “rife” with child exploitation problems.

One of the victims, a 17-year-old girl, is understood to have been taken to houses in Govanhill and Dennistoun for sex with multiple men, but believes the man who took her there was her boyfriend.

The man was introduced to the girl at the four corners when she was 15.

A concerned relative, who cannot be named to protect the identity of the victim, said: “It isn’t just [my relative] who was targeted, other girls were involved too.

“The police have interviewed me on camera and social work, and have interviewed [the victim]as well.

“She’s 17 now though and she’s been brainwashed. She thinks this guy is her boyfriend and won’t say what has happened to her.

The girl is said to have been taken to a house in Craigielea Street in Dennistoun for sex with men, along with other teenagers.

The relative said: “This really is just our worst nightmare, it’s this Rochdale and Rotherham-type stuff but it’s happening here in Glasgow in a big way.

“Nobody seems to be doing anything to stop it, all the girls have been made to believe these men are their boyfriends.

“ Its white females they are hitting on, aged 14 to 19.

“I’ve been down to the four corners and watched them all sitting on the fences and chatting up the girls.”

The relative said she contacted the parents of another girl who she believes was involved, and said: “I went to [the victim’s] friend’s door, the mother was affronted.

“The lassie came out and said the man was her boyfriend, and he was just 17. He looks about 25, if not older.

    “This needs to stop.”

A police spokesman confirmed they had received a report of concern for a 17-year-old girl and enquiries are continuing into the circumstances.

A spokesman for Glasgow Health and Social Care Partnership said :“It would be inappropriate to comment on an on-going police inquiry.

“However, in general, we are working very closely with partners to address the challenge of child sexual exploitation in Glasgow.

“There is a clear focus on child sexual exploitation within the city’s Child Protection Committee and information is routinely shared among the agencies represented on the committee.

“There is a very constructive relationship among all child protection partners in Glasgow that is helping to protect those at risk of child sexual exploitation and bring perpetrators to justice.””

  21. White House prepares to announce huge cut in refugee admissions
By LU Staff September 25, 2017

The Trump administration expects to notify Congress this week about plans to slash refugee admissions by more than half over the next fiscal year.

A consensus has emerged among leadership in the State and Homeland Security Departments that the U.S. should cap refugee intake at around 40,000, Axios reported Monday.

Before leaving office, former President Barack Obama set the admission ceiling at 110,000 for Fiscal Year 2017, which Trump then cut to 50,000 in a January executive order. Previous reports had indicated the administration would maintain that level, or possibly set an even lower number for FY2018.

  22. Battle lines drawn: Fans call for boycott, burn team gear after yesterday’s disgrace
By Joe Newby September 25, 2017

It’s bad enough that every player on the Pittsburgh Steelers protested the national anthem during yesterday’s game against the Chicago Bears. But after the game, the team’s head coach, Mike Tomlin, took the one holdout — former Army Ranger Alejandro Villanueva — to task for breaking ranks with the rest of the team.

While the other 52 members of the squad cowered in the shadows of the locker room, Villanueva, who served three tours in Afghanistan, appeared outside the mouth of the tunnel and placed his hand on his heart as the anthem was being played.

Said Tomlin in a post-game interview:

  23. SRI LANKA – Monk-led mob attacks Rohingya refugees in Sri Lanka

COLOMBO: Radical Buddhist monks stormed a United Nations safe house for Rohingya refugees near Sri Lanka’s capital on Tuesday (Sep 26) and forced authorities to relocate the group, officials said.

Saffron-robed Buddhist monks led a mob that broke down gates and entered the walled multi-storied compound at the Mount Lavinia suburb of Colombo as frightened refugees huddled together in upstairs rooms, a police official said.

Two police were wounded in the incident, which also saw the mob pelt stones at the safe house and trash the ground floor furnishings upon entry.

There were no reports of casualties among the group of refugees, which included 16 children.

“We have pushed back the mob and the refugees have been relocated in a safer place,” the official told AFP, asking not to be named as he was not authorised to speak to the media.

Police said they were going through local media video footage as well as Facebook in the hopes of arresting those who took part in the violence, and the monks who incited them.

One of the monks who stormed the building posted a video on the social networking site filmed by his radical group Sinhale Jathika Balamuluwa (Sinhalese National Force) as he urged others to join him and smash the premises.

“These are Rohingya terrorists who killed Buddhist monks in Myanmar,” the monk said in his live commentary, pointing to Rohingya mothers with small children in their arms.

The 31 Rohingya refugees were rescued by the Sri Lankan navy about five months ago after they were found drifting in a boat off the island’s northern waters. They were thought to be victims of a people smuggler.

They were eventually to be resettled in a third country, the official said, adding that they were authorised to remain in Sri Lanka pending the processing of their papers.

Sri Lanka’s extremist Buddhist monks have close links with their ultra-nationalist counterparts in Myanmar. Both have been accused of orchestrating violence against minority Muslims in the two countries.
Hundreds of thousands of Rohingya Muslims have fled Myanmar in the face of the current wave of violence there.

The Rohingya Muslims have been the target of decades of state-backed persecution and discrimination in mainly Buddhist Myanmar.
Many view them as illegal immigrants from Bangladesh, despite their long-established roots in the country.

Earlier, Reuters published an article claiming Russian strikes had hit US-backed rebels in Deir ez-Zor province. That’s how we treat the best of us. Here’s how we treat the worst of us.

An NFL rookie’s minimum salary is $465,000. And the majority of NFL players are usually bankrupt a few years after retirement because they blew through most of their money. Dozens of NFL players are arrested every year on charges ranging from murder to rape to animal abuse.

2017 was a banner year for the NFL with three times as many arrests as last year.

Along with the usual drunk driving and disorderly conduct arrests, there were 7 arrests for assault/battery, 6 for drugs and 5 for domestic violence.

Valerie Plame, who was outed in a press leak as an undercover CIA operative during former President George W. Bush’s administration, soon became a darling of the Left for her anti-Bush stance. She was able to successfully portray herself as the victim of neo-conservatives’ payback for what her husband, former ambassador Joseph Wilson, did in publicly challenging the Bush administration’s explanation for invading Iraq. Ms. Plame has not dropped out of sight. She campaigned for Hillary Clinton during the 2016 presidential election cycle and recently spearheaded an effort to purchase control of Twitter in order to ban President Trump from using the social media platform to communicate his messages. There is no room on Twitter for “hate,” she said. Like many on the Left, however, when it comes to anti-Semitism, Ms. Plame seems to have a blind spot. She used Twitter on the first day of Rosh Hashanah this year to re-tweet a blatantly anti-Semitic article entitled “America’s Jews Are Driving America’s Wars.” Only after Ms. Plame’s re-tweet began to cause her a major public relations problem did she seek to recant with some lame explanations and false apologies. She also resigned from the board of the Ploughshares Fund, which had condemned her original re-tweet of the article.

The State Department had a very predictable reaction to the Kurdish referendum.

The United States is deeply disappointed that the Kurdistan Regional Government decided to conduct today a unilateral referendum on independence, including in areas outside of the Iraqi Kurdistan Region…

The unilateral referendum will greatly complicate the Kurdistan Regional Government’s relationship with both the Government of Iraq and neighboring states. The fight against ISIS is not over, and extremist groups are seeking to exploit instability and discord. We believe all sides should engage constructively in a dialogue to improve the future of all Iraqis. The United States opposes violence and unilateral moves by any party to alter boundaries.

  38. Trump Should Reject Fatally Flawed International Institutions
Why the U.S. needs to opt out.
    September 26, 2017
    Bruce Thornton

Donald Trump campaigned and was elected as an agent of radical change. He promised to roll back the policies on big government at home and transnational cooperation abroad that both parties have endorsed for years. His campaign rhetoric about the “useless UN” and the “unfair” Paris Climate Accords suggested he understood that such organizations and treaties fleece Americans while handing over national sovereignty to other countries eager to gain leverage over us.

But Trump’s recent comments about renegotiating the Paris agreement and reforming the UN imply an acceptance of the assumptions on which both are built: that multilateral cooperation is better able to serve the interests and security of the United States. If this is so, then Trump is buying into the flaws of those assumptions that need to be utterly discredited in order to enact meaningful change.

Trump’s rejection of the Paris Climate agreement was correct not just because it is a bad deal for our economy. Nor is withdrawal called for because, like previous meetings–– in Berlin, Geneva, Kyoto, Buenos Aires, Bonn, The Hague, Marrakech, New Delhi, Milan, Montreal, Nairobi, Bali, Poznan, Copenhagen, Cancun, Durban, Doha, Warsaw, Lima, and now Paris––the results of these international gabfests have done nothing to reduce CO2 and mitigate the alleged apocalyptic consequences of increasing atmospheric carbon dioxide. But they’ve done plenty to enrich some countries at the expense of others, while profiting the “green energy” industries and hustlers like Al Gore.

  40. the guardian – Saudi Arabia’s king issues order allowing women to drive

King Salman ordered the reform in a royal decree delivered on Tuesday night, requesting that drivers licences be issued to women who wanted them

Women in Saudi Arabia have been granted the right to drive, overturning a cornerstone of Saudi conservatism that had been a cause celebre for activists demanding reforms in the fundamentalist kingdom.

King Salman ordered the reform in a royal decree delivered on Tuesday night, requesting that drivers licences be issued to women who wanted them.

The decision comes amid a broad reform program that last week led to women being allowed into a sports stadium for the first time.

It is the most significant change yet to a rigidly conservative social order in Saudi Arabia that has strictly demarcated gender roles, and severely limits the role of women in public life.

Earlier this month, a Saudi cleric was banned from preaching after saying that women should not be allowed to drive because their brains shrink to quarter the size of a man’s when they go shopping.

The move had been widely anticipated throughout the summer, which has seen entertainers perform – to male only audiences – in Riyadh, and the powers of the once omnipresent religious police stymied, amid a mooted transformation of many aspects of Saudi society that has been branded by one senior minister as “cultural revolution disguised as economic reform”.

Saudi Arabia had been the last country in the world in which women were banned from driving, a fact that been frequently used by critics as proof that female citizens of the Kingdom were among the world’s most repressed.

The most recent campaign to allow women drivers started in Saudi Arabia around 10 years ago, and reached a peak in 2013, when several women who had sat behind the wheel on the country’s roads were briefly arrested by police. In response to the announcement, Manal al-Sharif, who became the public face of the campaign, after she was imprisoned for driving, tweeted: “Today the last country on earth to allow women to drive … we did it”.

Strict guardianship laws mean that husbands or fathers can prevent their wives or daughters from leaving the home without them. The laws gave cover to the driving ban, which has long been accepted by many in the Kingdom, whose base is significantly more conservative than its leadership.

A committee of senior officials will be formed to study how to implement the move. It has 30 days to make recommendations and it is not yet clear whether women will be allowed to drive without the permission of guardians.

Saudi Arabia’s new Crown Prince, Mohammed bin Salman, had viewed allowing women to drive as a key plank of reforms, insisting that the move would lead to higher female participation in the workforce and a breakdown of gender roles that has led to limited social interaction between men and women outside immediate family environments.

However, the Crown Prince and his father, King Salman, had feared that moving too quickly on reforms would cause anger among the clerical establishment and elements of Saudi society who adhere to rigid scriptures of Sunni Islamic teachings that have taken root in large parts of the country over more than a century.

As well as being allowed to enter the National Stadium in Riyadh on Saturday to celebrate the 87th anniversary of the founding of the Kingdom, women were also allowed to attend a concert in Jeddah.

In November 1990, 47 Saudi women drove their cars around Riyadh to protest the driving ban. They faced severe punishment at the time and the campaign died away until 2008, when Wajiha Huwaider dared to drive a car around the eastern provinces, escaping arrest. From 2011 al-Sharif and another women Najla al-Hariri became global figureheads of a cause that drew the attention of global leaders, who had urged the Kingdom to overturn the ban.

“Saudi Arabia announced Tuesday that women have the right to drive for the first time in the ultra-conservative kingdom.

In a royal decree signed by King Salman bin Abdulaziz, the order on the right to drive said it will be effective immediately but the rollout will take months, according to the Saudi Press Agency.

The decree said that women would be allowed to drive “in accordance with the Islamic laws.”

But here is a list of things Saudi women are still barred from doing:

      1. Women are not allowed to travel without the permission of a male guardian — usually their father or husband.

      2. They are not allowed to “dress for beauty” and must cover their hair and bodies in public under the law.

      3. Women are required to limit the amount of time spent with men to whom they are not related.

      4. A Saudi woman can not open a bank account without her husband’s permission.

      5. Women can not eat freely in public. They must eat under their face veil.

      6. Women must limited physical closeness with other men and are segregated from the opposite sex in most offices, banks and universities.”

According to a recent report from Newsmax, White House officials are not only moving forward with plans to build a big, beautiful wall across the border with Mexico, but also pressuring Mexico to build a border wall of their own – on the other side of the country.

Confronted with the inconvenient truth that many illegal immigrants who make it across the U.S. border do not actually originate in Mexico but rather from Central American countries like Honduras and Guatemala, the Trump administration wants to include a southern Mexico border wall in impending NAFTA negotiations. The hope is that with better border enforcement of their own, our Mexican neighbors can reduce the security burden that currently falls on the United States.

    From Newsmax:

If Mexico would build a wall and beef up security across its own 732-mile border with Guatemala and Belize, the effect on illegal crossings into the U.S. could be dramatic.

The costs savings would also be huge – just a fraction of the estimated $21 billion a wall across the 1,989-mile U.S. border would cost.

New White House chief of staff John Kelly has been an advocate of focusing on the source of the illegals emanating from Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador.

As Secretary of Homeland Security, Kelly had told the Senate: “Border security for the United States starts 1,500 miles to the south.”

Chancellor Angela Merkel has won a fourth term in office, but the real winner of the German election on September 24 was the Alternative for Germany, an upstart party that harnessed widespread anger over Merkel’s decision to allow into the country more than a million mostly Muslim migrants from Africa, Asia and the Middle East.

Preliminary election results show that Merkel’s center-right CDU/CSU alliance won around 33% of the vote, its worst electoral result in nearly 70 years. Merkel’s main challenger, Martin Schulz and his center-left SPD, won 20.5%, the party’s worst-ever showing.

The nationalist Alternative for Germany (AfD) won around 13% to become the country’s third-largest party, followed by the classical liberal Free Democrats (FDP) with 10.7%, the far-left Linke party with 9.2% and the environmentalist Greens with 8.9%.

“With only 33%, Merkel has not only achieved the worst result of all the campaigns she has led, but also the second-worst in the party’s history,” wrote Die Zeit.
