Could there actually have been the long awaited and overly deserved “backlash” everyone talks about? in Spain?

Moroccan consulate in the Catalonian city of Tarragona was vandalized, local media reported on Sunday. The facade of the diplomatic mission building was stained with red paint.

Consulate’s employees reached out to the police immediately, demanding an investigation into the incident.

According to the press, a local mosque in a nearby city was also subjected to the act of vandalism.

The place of worship has been defaced by writings of a racist nature that contained death threats to the members of the Moroccan community.

These incidents come after on Thursday, 14 people were killed and 130 injured after a van rammedinto the crowd in the Barcelona’s Las Ramblas district, while seven people were wounded in a car attack in Cambrils several hours later.

  1. The facade of the diplomatic mission building was stained with red paint.

Please let me know when it’s no longer “red paint” and, instead, “red fuming nitric acid”, one of the most hellish (and dangerous liquid) chemical reagents I’ve ever worked with.

Honestly, this stuff has every appearance of being Satan’s gastric juices. As in, poured into a beaker (under a negative-pressure fume hood), this liquid spontaneously begins to devolve smoky clouds of red mist that make you want to run away at your earliest opportunity.
