Daniel Greenfield on the James Damore memo and firing

This is a story of gargantuan proportions if one is to believe that free choice and free will cannot exist in an environment where free access to information is worse than not available, but not available within an illusory environment where it appears to be real.

Google creates the false notion that you can actually get the information you need by searching for it through its portal, and therefore you can form opinions on scientific and political matters, (a distinction which grows blurrier by the minute) but really you are being massaged into accepting Google’s own political opinions even in direct violation of its own page ranking system, which you can read about here.

This is a kind of soft totalitarianism. A less honest one that the Soviet Union, which would apply force to anyone with wrong think. But at least you can know there is another side to that wall.

Daniel Greenfield’s piece is here. Please don’t let this subject die out. It is important that people understand what is going on here and now.

The good news is, as many of us may remember, Milo Yianopolis often said during his campaign tour for Donald Trump, that he had a friend who used to make piles of cash by short selling any company that hired a “diversity officer” and moved from merit to Marx. The stock reports for Google look like they may mirror that trend although I’m loath to predict the future for a company that powerful, one that Julian Assange called the information arm of the US state Department. (Under Obama-Clinton of course.)

After listening to the full audio of this memo, I would recommend checking out the articles and videos critical of it. How many of those had, in your opinion, actually read the memo?

Below, A CBC echo-chamber attacking Damore, mostly using man-of-straw:

(Here is a funny little fake Google memo in response to these events. But like most things in the past year or so, its not funny cause its true.)

  1. The attack on diversity of thought is indeed moving from the campus to the corporations that are controlled by leftists, unfortunately way too many large corporations are control by leftists. The left rails against the corporations but try to gain control of them to ensure that 1) they (the leftists) get rich and 2) that they corporations don’t donate money to causes and politicians the left hates. The left has turned the corporations they control into the evil organizations they have been screaming about for decades. Always remember anything evil the left accuses their political opponents of doing the left does when they get the chance. Look at how the left for so long accused the CIA and NSA of spying on Americans, once they had control of the government they ordered this spying.

  2. What is obvious to the most obtuse observer is…. Are we the first generation to have enough money and free time to worry about who gets the job done? Who feeds the prodigy, births the prodigy, chase the beasties that would eat the prodigy, train the prodigy so that in our old age there would some one to cook our padlum or pre chew the food for the toothless ones. Poor pos-moderns are fraught with “what a spear is for and which is the sharp end.

  3. “She told Southwark Crown Court Saul was ‘not the general stuff of which the prison population is made’.

The judge added: ‘I’m taking a considerable risk that the Crown will think it lenient and appeal, but it’s a risk I’m willing to take.’

Lucie Daniels, defending Saul, had argued her client was ‘shaken’ by the loss of her grandmother in 2013 and was a committed charity worker.

‘This offending is so out of character, she has worked hard and paid her taxes and been a responsible citizen,’ said Ms Daniels.

Yet her charitable efforts could not mitigate the loss to Idio, who hemorrhaged a total of £348,439 to her gambling addiction.

Saul’s deception relied on her privileged role as office manager for the firm. She created fake invoices to the company which she sent to herself.”

COULD SOMEONE PLEASE WRITE A MEMO.

  4. Rather than being fired for his brilliant letter Damore should have replaced the president of Google and the president should have been fired. On the strength of identifying the mortal peril of monoculture to ANY company, alone, was sufficient for this exchange. As much as it reveals a deep understanding of the company’s culture (and all of current Western civilization for that matter), it also reveals the reason why this is the first crack in the foundation of Google. It will now inevitably fail. It must. The absence of a free market of ideas within its culture condemns it to misunderstanding the wider culture exterior to it. But it will take as much time to fail as will the totalitarian culture now in broader society. Damore percolates up through our swamp like a Trump, Snowden, Robinson, or Orban.

The emergence of Damore means that the algorithm monopoly of Google is soon to be over. I know this sounds bold and even preposterous. But in a strictly business sense his message of monoculture is an inevitable death knell. Therefore, given the power of Google algorithms, this is a seminal event for Freedom and should be identified as such.

Damore was fired for being right, not for being wrong.
