2. Here is an audio version of the complete memo by James Damore, the Google engineer who was fired for writing this memo. Interestingly, part of the memo is a remembrance of James’ that many people at Google had told him they agreed with him, but were afraid to say so for fear of being fired. As this may well be a historical document, and as every critic I have heard of this document so far has clearly not read it, I thought it is worth making it an audio book for those who prefer to listen to books/manifestos rather than read.

  1. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you, Vlad, and Eeyore, for all you do. We get caught up in everything so deeply that at least I sometimes forget to say an earnest thanks. You work so hard to bring this information to us, and while the community of commentors is finite, the benefit you provide is not. What a wonderful community you have created!

      Sure hope my fellow North Americans are taking notes. Or listening for leper bells.

      Though 63 Million voted for PT-45, it seems everybody’s tangled in manufactured distractions. Eliciting incomprehensible passion over relative trivia. Or just rumors and lies.

      Expressions of patriotism are refreshing and appeal to my gut. But in excess, and especially packaged with demands for uncritical, dog-loyalty, my gut is ready to VOMIT.

      Don’t misunderstand: I’m very much a dog person, not at all fond of cats. Though some of my best friends own cats.

      I guess it’s learning what “polarized” really means.
      Sure I know “home” is true North proud and free, but can I veer a little to the East? how ’bout to the Mid-East, is that ok?
      – or does that smack of dual-loyalty? an “agenda”?
      – does that mark me as a “shill”?

      What if it does? Am I then cast to the outer darkness?

    An Iraqi Christian refugee has warned lawmakers that Islamic asylum seekers want to take over Austrian society and without legal intervention, they could succeed in two decades.
    The Iraqi Christian, using the pseudonym “Maria”, spoke to Austrian television this week describing her personal experiences with Muslim asylum seekers living in Austrian asylum homes where she volunteered as a counsellor.
