Not Gypsies so much as muslims in Bulgaria

The following information was collected and collated by our Bulgarian translator and correspondent, Tanya T. with much thanks!

(Any errors are mine)

A group of Gypsies had severely beaten children and their coaches with spades, spikes and whatever they could get hold of, and this led to protests that went on for weeks in Bulgaria. Some of the Gypsies had threatened the relatives of their victims to cut their heads off…  It turns out that one of the arrested is a Muslim cleric, and was also among the arrested for preching radical Islam.

He is the guy with the reddish beard on this picture with the ISIS flag:

What is with the ginger converts?

Here he is with a name next to his picture – he calls himself Taffik, but his passport says Steffan Dimitroff (?????? ????????)

(English is from Google Translate of this page)

Here is An article saying they tried to run over the relatives taking the children to hospital, and threatened to cut heads off. But the article talks only about the “Roma”, more commonly referred to as “Gypsies” in the West. The purpose of this post is to show that in fact, these ultra harsh actions by these “Roma” are in fact by or at the direction of Muslims and Muslim leaders or Gypsy converts to Islam, and motivated more by Islamic doctrine than by Gypsy cultural norms in Bulgaria.

The news that the arrested is the same guy from the trial of Islamic state preachers:

Just to give you an idea of what is going on in some these quarters…This is not Iraq or Syria, it’s from a Gypsie quarter in Bulgaria a few years ago:

Muslim Gypsies arrested in Acenovgrad

The following description is for the video directly above:

“It was scary and ugly. They were throwing at us whatever they could get hold of. Stakes, stones, chairs. They took our oars and started beating us with them. We did not know what to do – protect the children or protect ourselves. We have provoked noone.

It was like war. There have been such cases before, but it has never been so bad. We have managed to come to an agreement (i.e. to settle a dispute peacefully) and we have never provoked.

They were threatening us, that they would cut our heads off and burn the ?base(the building or whatever facilities they use)” the coaches said to BTV News.

“It was scary. It was 5 of us against 50 Roma. My husband was injured as well. They tried to run over us with a car. My son is seriously injured. He has been beaten with a metal rod. My child is very scared. I won’t let him train anymore. We are afraid.”

But it appears there was some pushback including large marches against these acts of aggression:

RT -Bulgaria: Bikers and ultras join thousands in march against alleged ‘Roma aggression

Thousands of protesters, including bikers and ‘ultra’ football fans, attempted to march on a Roma neighbourhood in the city of Asenovgrad, Sunday, in a protest against so-called “Roma aggression”.

SOT, Stiliana Manovska, protester (Bulgarian): “I cannot give help to someone that doesn’t want to help themselves. They don’t want to scare away Bulgarians. They tried to kill those guys with rocks in their hands!”

  1. Hoxha Stefan Dimitrov sounds more like Chechen or possibly Albanian. Not sure how far the gypsy conversion to Islam has gone, but quite a few have been given money to spread the ideology after indoctrination in Qatar.
