1, US State department makes odd threat against Hungary, supporting Soros University.
(This is mighty peculiar)
An international controversy over nonprofits funded by progressive Hungarian-American billionaire George Soros has created a vulnerability in the NATO alliance, the State Department warned.
Secretary of State Rex Tillerson’s spokesperson urged Hungarian leaders to scrap legislation mandating that Hungarian nonprofits supported by foreign contributors identify their donors. The bill is the latest development in nationalist Prime Minister Viktor Orban’s ongoing campaign against Soros, but his domestic and international critics regard it also as a step toward Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“If signed into law, this would be another step away from Hungary’s commitments to uphold the principles and values that are central to the [European Union] and NATO,” State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert said Monday.
(This is, at face value, a very bad sign)

A reminder of what interfaith is actually for:
H/T M., Buck, Richard, Yucki, EB., and so many more. What do the kids say? “It’s on”?
1 – This is like they are trying to drive Hungry back into the Russian Sphere of influence!!
4 – Has anyone checked to see if this man is highly mentally retarded? Why take that many weapons and that much ammo on a suicide mission where your weapon was going going to be the car and you were planning on blowing it up when you rammed another car?
3 – This is coming to all of Western Europe unless there are major changed in who is running the governments.
The Hungarian law is the zero calorie version of the US Foreign Agents Registration Act, with only minor fines as punishment and only asks for public disclosure of donors in a case of an NGO…
I just hope we Hungarians not decide to embrace any part of the US Constitution, I am sure the USA would invade us….
Fortunately, Soros is 87. His spawn should be everyone’s concern at this point
It is obvious he wants a dynasty.
Shouldn’t we start to hear the deafening roar of support from all those critics of Orban? Will we hear Merkel and Juncker stand up in support of Trump now? After all, being against foreign-funded NGOs is the same as being anti-migrant because everything amounts to a human rights and civil liberties issue. We may hear their support but I doubt it very much.
I wish I knew why the Trump admin would support a post modernist neo-marxist commie factory like Soros U. Is it because Tillerson doesn’t get it, or because he does? And then to draw a connection between what is in reality a pretty soft law, and the integrity of NATO, stinks. Hmm, I wonder who it could come up with such sophistry? Who has access to top officials and who wants to win a match of wits with Orban really badly? Who could threaten to call in his massive loan to the President’s son-in-law?
This is wild conjecture and I’m sure I’m wrong. But I know I’m right that this isn’t about NATO. It cannot be.
Does academic freedom mean the freedom to teach young people how to destroy their own society? It does now. Is Hungary sliding into right-wing authoritarianism, or the West into left wing fascism? Fact is Hungary is not changing one iota. We are the ones falling apart. Distractions come easily when our collective unconscious is suffering a nervous breakdown.
And how exactly does Turkey uphold the principles of NATO? You wanna talk weak links…
