The guy found a nice water well. Everybody was happy.
He had to go back some eight years later, not enough water left. He had to find another well.
The village population had soared to close to 1,000 individuals.

Authorities are frantically searching for a Secret Service-issued laptop — containing floor plans for Trump Tower, information about the Hillary Clinton email investigation and other national security information — that was stolen from an agent’s car in Brooklyn, police sources told the Daily News Friday.
The computer was lifted Thursday morning and officials are trying to determine if Agent Marie Argentieri was targeted or if the robbery was random.
NYPD cops are assisting in the investigation, sources said.
“It’s a very big deal,” a police source said. “There’s data on there that’s highly sensitive. They’re scrambling like mad.”
Sources and neighbors said the thief stepped out of a dark-colored sedan, possibly an Uber, and darted into Argentieri’s Bath Beach driveway about 3 a.m.
He grabbed the computer, a backpack, and other goods and walked away, sources said.

Russia makes play for Libya

The play Russia is making for Libya broke into American consciousness this week, with a report from Reuters that Russia has deployed special forces to an air base in western Egypt, from which to support Libyan military commander Khalifa Haftar.
Haftar, 73, is a long-time Libyan military commander who helped bring Qadhafi to power in 1969, but ended up in the U.S. after he became a prisoner of war in Libya’s 1987 conflict with Chad. Haftar was in America for 20 years, becoming a U.S. citizen. In 2011, he returned to Libya after the Arab Spring meltdown and participated in the overthrow of Qadhafi. Although he eventually came back to the U.S., he returned to Libya in 2014 when the first post-Qadhafi national unity government was dissolved, and reinvolved himself in Libyan politics and military activity.
Haftar became military commander in 2015 for a newly recognized unity government in Tobruk. But the U.S. and major EU nations ended up backing the Government of National Accord, a separate entity with its power base in central and western Libya, in December of that year. The GNA and Haftar, head of the Libyan National Army (LNA), have coexisted uneasily in the months since, with their power relations revolving around outside patronage, control of the oil and gas infrastructure, and posture vis-à-vis ISIS and its adherents along the Mediterranean coast, and the Islamist-dominated “National Salvation Government” holding pockets of territory in the west.

Naval choke points like those between Libya and Greece and Italy (add Tunisia to the list on the choke point with Italy) control who sails in that region. According to her Europe is willing to let Putin get
controlmassive influence in Libya because this will ease their problems getting crude oil and will give someone who isn’t a Moslem control of the areas that the African migrants are using to enter Europe. As long as Europe remains semi allied and has internal lines of communications (commerce and movement) the choke points are of lesser concerns but if/when Erdogan turns loose the flood migrants things may change. That would be when the choke points become more important.The US spent a lot of time and money removing Russian influence from the Middle East and now Obama has removed all US influence and let Russia move and once again become the big influence in the Middle East.
One thing she didn’t address in this article is Iran and their intentions of building a naval port in Syria and the influence they are gaining in Egypt and how they will also be in Libya and will have some control of the choke points.
Are we seeing the return of the Barbary Pirates? Will non moslem shipping companies have to pay tribute to sail through the choke points?

Syria: Buses transport opposition fighters and families from Homs
A group of opposition fighters and their families left the last opposition-held stronghold in the city of Homs, the al-Waer neighbourhood, on Saturday.
The buses headed for areas northeast of Aleppo city, which are also opposition-held. The movement of people is permitted under an evacuation deal with the Syrian government.
Russian and Syrian military reportedly monitored the evacuation.

During a speech by German Federal Criminal Police Office chief for terrorism Uwe Kemmesies, two left-wing protesters had to be escorted out of the building after displaying an anti-AfD banner. In addition, a small left-wing protest was held outside the hotel which was cordoned off and guarded by police.
One of the congress’ speakers was head of AfD’s Berlin branch, Georg Pazderski. He said that “most terrorists are Muslims” and that “there is a high readiness to commit violent acts among Islamists but also in Islam and that’s the big problem we are facing today.
The congress was attended by hundreds of visitors, and dealt with right-wing, left-wing and religious extremism while featuring experts from both Germany and abroad, alongside known AfD politicians including Jorg Meuthen.

Greece: Thousands demonstrate in Athens against EU-Turkey refugee deal
Thousands of people took to the streets of Athens on Saturday in protest against the EU-Turkey refugee deal.
The protesters marched along the streets of the Greek capital before gathering outside the Hellenic Parliament, where they chanted slogans and burned flares. One of the protesters, Coordinator of Movement Against Racism and Fascist Threat Petros Constantinou, said that “Athens is demonstrating against racism and fascism” and that they demand “an end to the drowning of thousands of refugees trying to escape from war and poverty.”
The EU-Turkey refugee deal was signed one year ago. Under the agreement, Greece is allowed to return all ‘irregular’ migrants to Turkey and in return EU member states are to resettle more of the Syrian refugees living in Turkey.

Thousands of people rallied in support of French far-left presidential candidate Jean-Luc Melenchon in Paris, Saturday. His supporters packed the streets of the French capital between the squares of Place de La Bastille and Place de la Republique. Melenchon is a former minister for vocational training and is backed in the presidential election by the French Communist Party. If elected, he has pledged to quit NATO, obstruct free-trade deals, stop using nuclear energy and cut down the country’s 35-hour work week.
Germany: Protesters erect ‘refuge camp’ in Hamburg to highlight plight of migrants
Dozens of demonstrators gathered at City Hall Square in Hamburg, Saturday, demanding that the German government relocate 1,000 refugees from Greece to Hamburg.
The group ‘Stop deportation to Afghanistan now’ called on participants to bring anything that could be useful in a refugee camp to the square to set up the so-called camp. The activists installed tents, fences and ropes, where they hung clothes and photos. The protest coincides with the anniversary of the EU-Turkey refugee deal.
The EU-Turkey refugee deal was signed one year ago. Under the agreement, Greece is allowed to return all ‘irregular’ migrants to Turkey and in return EU member states are to resettle more of the Syrian refugees living in Turkey.
CBC – Defeat of the ‘Dutch Trump’
In a horrifying revelation, the refugee worker in charge of eight men who gang-raped a German tourist in Austria has made a statement blaming the victim for the crime. The unnamed refugee worker made a statement to the Austrian press that he believed the sentence the men got was too high.
He went further in a statement made off-camera and said the victim herself was responsible for what had happened by misleading the men or giving them the wrong signals.
The eight men were convicted of gang-raping the 28-year-old woman, whom four of them had met in a bar on New Year’s Eve in 2015. The woman, identified as Sabine K, had gone back with the men to an apartment where they had raped her with an additional four men. The eight men who were brought to trial were Iraqi asylum-seekers.
