Marc Elias, a partner at the D.C.-based Perkins Coie law firm and the head lawyer for Hillary Clinton’s failed presidential campaign, has joined the board of directors for Priorities USA Action, a Super PAC heavily funded by globalist billionaire George Soros.

Priorities USA Action will also absorb Every Citizen Counts, a nonprofit founded by Priorities USA Action chief strategist Guy Cecil dedicated to mobilizing African-American and Hispanic voters, as it shifts its efforts to challenging state Voter ID laws.

Led by Elias in his capacity as a partner with the Perkins Coie law firm, Every Citizen Counts spent $17 million on legal challenges to voting laws in North Carolina, Ohio, Virginia, and Wisconsin during the 2016 general election. The lawsuits were financially supported by Soros as well.

Priorities has also indicated their intent to build a database “that’s intended to serve as a one-stop inventory of restrictive voting measures which will be shared with other progressive organizations.”

  2. Toronto: BLM protestors claim Quebec Muslims were murdered “because Islam challenges white supremacy violence”

February 7, 2017 9:17 am By Christine Williams 23 Comments

In her short speech at the beginning of the rally, Yusra Khogali portrayed Canada as a country that was founded on genocide, racism and slavery….

Khogali — co-founder of Black Lives Matter, Toronto — has failed miserably to understand two very simple things:

Islamic States were founded upon bloody conquest, and to this day, normative Islam remains a violator of human rights, especially women’s rights.
Western nations have long ago abolished black slavery, have evolved and have seen blacks rise to the highest levels of society, while blacks are still deemed inferior by Arabs, and blacks are still being enslaved in Mauritania and Sudan.

    http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/13-european-nations-meet-migration-uptick-45341865

“The interior and defense ministers of 13 European nations are meeting in Vienna on ways to prepare for a possible uptick in migrant flows once winter is over.

Convened by Austria’s interior and defense ministers, Wednesday’s meeting includes counterparts from the Czech Republic, Croatia, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Albania, Macedonia, Serbia, Kosovo and Greece.

Some of the countries became arrival or transit points along the now-closed west Balkans route for the influx of hundreds of thousands of migrants looking for better lives. Others oppose resettling migrants already in the EU on their territories.

Austria was instrumental in coordinating last year’s shutdown of the migrants’ path into prosperous EU countries that began in Greece and wound through the western Balkans.”

“German prosecutors say that apartments and other properties in western Germany and Britain are being searched in an investigation of two people accused of supporting the Nusra Front, an al-Qaida-linked group in Syria.

Federal prosecutors said that the raids were conducted Wednesday in an effort to secure more evidence against the pair, whom they didn’t identify.

The suspects are accused of having supported the Nusra Front for several years, collecting donations and helping organize aid convoys. They are suspected of sending ambulances, medical equipment, medicine and food to the group in Syria.

    http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/120000-nigerian-face-boko-haram-created-famine-45341044

“More than 120,000 Nigerians likely will suffer “catastrophic” famine-like conditions caused by Boko Haram’s Islamic uprising, among 11 million confronting severe food shortages this year, according to a new U.N. report.

The report from the Food and Agriculture Organization predicts Africa’s biggest humanitarian crisis in northeast Nigeria likely will deteriorate during the “lean” food season between June and August.

“Trends show that food security and nutrition are worsening,” it says. Some “8.7 million people are expected to be in crisis: 2 million in emergency and 121 000 in famine conditions, bringing the total number of severely food-insecure people to 11 million.”

Worst affected is Borno state, the birthplace of Boko Haram, which may hold 65 percent of those “expected to face famine conditions.”

U.N. agencies have reported that children already are dying in that region and some 515,000 face death if they don’t get help.

Corruption and conflict between the government and aid agencies is compounding the crisis. Officials are investigating reports local government agencies are stealing food aid.”

    • A lot fewer people would perish if they just carpet bombed the region that hosts Boko Haram.

    http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/syria-rejects-amnestys-report-mass-hangings-untrue-45341596

“Syria’s justice ministry is rejecting an Amnesty International report of mass hangings of as many as 13,000 people in a prison near Damascus, calling the allegations “totally untrue” and part of a smear campaign.

The ministry’s statement was published by Syria’s state-run news agency on Wednesday, a day after Amnesty released its report.

It says “misleading and inciting” media outlets carried the Amnesty report with the intention to smear the Syrian government’s reputation on the world stage — particularly after recent “military victories against terrorists groups.”

The government refers to all armed opposition as “terrorists.”

It also says the allegations are “baseless” because executions in Syria follow due process and various stages of litigations.

Amnesty’s report says the mostly civilian victims were hanged after military trials that lasted minutes.”

“Police say rioters have again set fire to cars and garbage bins overnight in spreading violence in the suburbs of Paris over the alleged rape of a young black man with a police baton.

Police said Wednesday morning they made 17 arrests.

The violence in suburbs northeast of Paris, which has now spread to at least five towns, erupted after a young black man was allegedly sodomized with a police officer’s baton last week, during an identity check. One officer was charged Sunday with aggravated rape and three others were charged with aggravated assault.

President Francois Hollande visited the alleged victim, identified only by his first name, Theo, on Tuesday afternoon at the suburban hospital where he has been treated since the assault.”

“THE Dutch senate has voted to strip jihadis of their Dutch citizenship as the Netherlands steps up its fight against terror.

The upper house approved the law allowing the government in the interest of national security to revoke the Dutch citizenship of militants fighting abroad with terror groups.

Members of ISIS and Al Qaeda with dual nationality attempting to return from fighting in areas such as Syria and Iraq will not be allowed back into the Netherlands.

Dutch lawmakers said jihadists will also be unable to legally enter the Schengen zone.

According to the Dutch senate, the Eerste Kamer: “Upon returning to the Netherlands these jihadists may pose a direct threat to national security.

“This proposal makes it possible to revoke the Dutch citizenship as soon as someone joins a group that appears on a public list of terrorist organisations. ISIS and Al Qaeda, for example, on this list.

“After the withdrawal of Dutch citizenship, the jihadist is also declared an undesirable alien. This makes it impossible for the jihadist to legally return to the Netherlands and other Schengen area.”

The law only applies to people with dual citizenship and allows the Minister of Justice to cancel jihadi’s Dutch passports without the intervention of the courts…”

“PRESIDENT Donald Trump’s administration could designate Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organisation, according to US officials familiar with the matter.

The officials said several US government agencies have been consulted about such a proposal, which if implemented would add to measures the United States has already imposed on individuals and entities linked to the IRGC.

The IRGC is by far Iran’s most powerful security entity, which also has control over large stakes in Iran’s economy and huge influence in its political system.

Reuters has not seen a copy of the proposal, which could come in the form of an executive order directing the State Department to consider designating the IRGC as a terrorist group. It is unclear whether Trump would sign such an order.

The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Iran denies any involvement in terrorism….”

“PEOPLE voted for Brexit and Donald Trump because they have had enough of open-door immigration and terrorism, Nigel Farage thundered in an interview with US TV.

The former Ukip leader laid into the Remain camp and anti-Trump protestors as he argued the political earthquakes which defined 2016 were a result of people having had their fill of politics which exposed their countries to terrorism.

Speaking to Fox Business, Mr Farage said: “It’s called a political revolution and 2016 was the beginning of that revolution.

“Believe me, it’s not going to go away. People have had enough of politically correct politics that doesn’t believe in anything, doesn’t say anything and frankly is there to support big business against the interest go ordinary people.

“The US-based cleric who was blamed for last year’s failed coup attempt in Turkey could be plotting earthquakes in the region, the mayor of Ankara suggested on Tuesday.

Fethullah Gulen, who had allegedly planned an earthquake before, could be behind recent tremors felt in Turkey, Mayor Melih Gokcek claimed in a series of tweets published on Twitter.

“No matter what they say, we continue to worry about the possibility of an artificial earthquake,” Gökçek wrote, accusing “the Gulenist terrorist organisation (FETO) of previously attempting quakes”.

“Their plan was failed after the strategy was disclosed to the public on that time. But currently they are trying to originate an economic crisis with the help of the major earthquake (artificial),” he wrote in English….”

  16. Turkey sacks some 4,500 government employees in latest purge (alaraby, Feb 8, 2017)
    https://www.alaraby.co.uk/english/news/2017/2/8/turkey-sacks-some-4-500-government-employees-in-latest-purge

“The Turkish government has sacked nearly 4,500 more state employees as it continues its purge against people with suspected links to a US-based cleric Fethullah Gulen, which Ankara accuses of orchestrating a failed military coup.

With a decree issued Tuesday, some 2,600 people were fired from the Education Ministry, close to 900 were dismissed from the paramilitary police and 400 others from the police over “national security” concerns.

The decree also affected employees of the state-owned television, the appeals court and the elections board.

Turkey declared a state of emergency following the July 15 coup attempt and embarked on a wide-reaching clampdown on the Gulen’s movement, purging over 100,000 of its alleged followers from government positions and formally arrested nearly 41,000.

Nearly 600 companies have been also seized, many of them smaller provincial firms, over links to Gulen.

The European Union and human rights groups have criticised Turkey’s heavy-handed clampdown.

Critics claim the crackdown goes well beyond the suspected coup plotters and targets anyone who has dared show opposition to President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Gulen, a former ally turned political foe of Erdogan, has denied involvement in the coup.”

Republicans fear for their safety as Obamacare protests grow

At a closed-door meeting, House lawmakers discuss strategies to counter potential violence.

House Republicans during a closed-door meeting Tuesday discussed how to protect themselves and their staffs from protesters storming town halls and offices in opposition to repealing Obamacare, sources in the room told Politico.

House GOP Conference Chairwoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers invited Rep. David Reichert, a former county sheriff, to present lawmakers with protective measures they should have in place. Among the suggestions: having a physical exit strategy at town halls, or a backdoor in congressional offices to slip out of, in case demonstrations turn violent; having local police monitor town halls; replacing any glass office-door entrances with heavy doors and deadbolts; and setting up intercoms to ensure those entering congressional offices are there for appointments, not to cause chaos.

    • This is a puzzling article altogether. Politico doing fake-news is nothing new, but this egregious disinfo is something else. Drudge featured it as a red-letter headline.

      • The Republicans have good reason to be worried, the next step in the terror campaign being waged by the alt left is to start killing supporters of Trump, Republican political leaders and people who donate money to the Republicans. Having security experts advice them on what precautions to take is a sensible precaution.

  18. Hundreds of immigrants convicted and not deported committed more crimes — even murder

    Read more here: http://www.miamiherald.com/news/local/immigration/article131227599.html#storylink=cpy

At least 121 killings within a four-year span were carried out by convicted immigrants who were not deported, according to a 2015 U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee document recently reviewed by el Nuevo Herald.

Every year, federal immigration authorities release foreign nationals convicted of crimes — including murder — both because the U.S. Supreme Court has prohibited indefinite detention or because their countries refuse to take them back even after immigration judges have ordered deportation.

While the release of convicted immigrant criminals has been routine since the Supreme Court issued its landmark ruling 15 years ago, the practice is now in the national spotlight because President Donald Trump has made it imperative to deport immigrant convicts as quickly as possible lest they commit more crimes.

  19. Irony: ‘Water protectors’ at Standing Rock left tons of trash that will…pollute the water
    By J.E. Dyer February 7, 2017

Irony doesn’t get easier to see than this.

During their months-long run at the Standing Rock protest camp in North Dakota, anti-pipeline agitators described themselves as “protectors of the local waters” against the pollutants they claim will be a result of the Dakota Access Pipeline (DAPL). (Just approved today by the Army Corps of Engineers, after a years-long consultative process.)

Their unvarying dual claims were that they were there to protect Sioux sacred sites from the pipeline, and that they were “water protectors,” camping out in the tent city to protect the water against the pipeline.

It was a really awesome experience, for at least some young, aspiring journalists:

  20. Security officer in Denver shot and killed by radical Muslim
By Onan Coca February 7, 2017

It’s hard to know why the story has received such scant coverage by the mainstream media, though its conspicuous absence invites speculation. The details, provided by Denver Fox affiliate KDVR, include the fact that the shooter, 37-year-old Joshua Cummings, has been described by police as a “radical Muslim” and that the victim, 56-year-old Scott Von Lanken, may have been mistaken for a police officer. Von Lanken, who was a security guard for Denver’s Regional Transportation District, was dressed in his customary dark blue uniform when Cummings strode up behind him and shot him, fatally, in the neck.

The shooting took place on Feb. 1 as Von Lanken helped two women figure out which light rail route they should be using to get home. A surveillance. The women told authorities that the gunman muttered something before firing off a single round. Surveillance video caught the crime on tape, and Cummings was arrested about twenty minutes later. The murder weapon was also recovered.

  22. Congress IT Probe Suspects Had Massive Debts, Years Of Suspicious Activity

Four people who worked for the House of Representatives have a history of massive debts and bankruptcy, a fondness for fast cars and real estate, and unusually complicated webs of intertwined finances.

The three brothers and a wife of one of them are under criminal investigation into sensitive congressional information security.

Chiefs of staff for dozens of Democratic lawmakers who employed the four were informed last week that a criminal probe was underway into their use of congressional information technology systems, including the existence of an external server to which House data was being funneled, and into the theft of and overbilling for computer equipment.

Brothers Imran, Abid, and Jamal Awan and Hina Alvi, Imran’s wife, each made $160,000 a year as information technology workers for the House. Their salaries and time were shared among dozens of Democratic members, including former Democratic National Committee Chairman Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz of Florida. The lawmakers also include members of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence and the House Committee on Foreign Affairs.

The bill to designate the Muslim Brotherhood a terrorist organization is experiencing pushback. Here’s why the detractors are wrong.

“For more than 30 years, Muslim Brotherhood associated movements and parties have been a force for democratization and stability in the Middle East.” Professor John Esposito, the Director of the Bridge Initiative, made this remark in a submission to the House Judiciary Committee, when asked to provide evidence concerning the proposed bill to designate the Muslim Brotherhood as a terrorist organization.

Here are five reasons his claim is false and the Muslim Brotherhood should be listed as a terrorist organization.

  24. Penn. Man Pleads Guilty to Aiding ISIS, Threatening Military
Jalil Ibn Ameer Azaz, 20, tweeted a list of more than 100 service members with their pictures and addresses with instructions to kill them.

A young man from Pennsylvania pleaded guilty this week to two felony charges connected to aiding Islamic State and targeting U.S. military personnel.

Jalil Ibn Ameer Aziz, 20, who was born in the U.S., published on Twitter a list of more than 100 service members along with their pictures, rank and addresses with the message: “Kill them in their own lands, behead them in their own homes, stab them to death as they walk their street.”

In addition, he sent out communications on close to 70 different Twitter accounts as well as on an encrypted messaging application spreading propaganda from Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL) and trying to help people travel to their “caliphate.”

Military personnel on Aziz’s lists were notified of the threat and precautions were taken.

Aziz was arrested in Harrisburg in December 2015. A search of his parent’s house where he lived netted five high-capacity magazines, a balaclava and other potentially incriminating belongings.

In one of his tweets, he expressed his desire to travel to Islamic-State

  25. ISIS Created Chemical Weapons in Mosul University
The Pentagon announced that Mosul University, ISIS’ headquarters in the city, was used by the terror group to produce sulphur mustard.

Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL) used its headquarters in Mosul to make chemical weapons, the Pentagon announced January 7, reported Al-Monitor.

Coalition forces, in their steady assault to retake the Iraqi city, found chemicals inside the university, which the terror group had claimed as its control center.

The university was liberated last month. Booby traps set by the jihadis in the heavily-damaged buildings made a thorough investigation difficult.

However, tests confirmed the university was “central to the ISIS chemical weapons program,” stated Pentagon Spokesman Navy Captain Jeff Davis. “They have received positive samples; that is indeed what was going on there.”

Davis said the chemical, sulphur mustard, was “used primarily as an irritant and something to scare people,” rather than an agent of death.

Since the beginning of the assault on Mosul in October, coalition forces have captured most of the eastern parts of the city. The western part of the city still remains in ISIS hands.

Scattered jihadi cells remain in the liberated areas which have been highly booby-trapped.

The fight for Mosul has incurred heavy casualties.

  26. We Cannot Defeat Islamism Without Dealing With Assad
Amnesty International launched a petition to hold Assad accountable for hanging up to 13,000 prisoners after secret trials.

Between 5,000 and 13,000 people were killed in a military prison facility in Damascus between 2011 and 2015, according to a new report released by Amnesty International.

Amnesty alleges the mass killings must have been “authorised by officials at the highest levels of government.”

The investigation into the mass executions at Saydnaya prison was conducted through interviews with 84 former personnel and detainees of the prison. Those interviewed included four former guards at key sites, one where civilians were detained (the so-called “white building”) and one where former military members were held and where hangings took place in the basement (the so-called “red building”).

Amnesty found that batches of detainees were tried by military courts with each trial lasting between one and three minutes with guilty verdicts for everyone. The prisoners were then taken to the basement, blindfolded and hanged.

Bodies were reportedly then taken to the nearby Tishreen military hospital where they were recorded as dying of heart or lung failure. Their bodies were then buried on government land near Damascus.

    • Louvre terrorist sent suspicious payments to Polish account: report

The Egyptian man who was arrested on suspicion of terrorism at the Louvre museum in Paris had made two separate wire transfers to a compatriot in Poland, the Le Figaro daily reports.

In a report published on Wednesday, Le Figaro said that following his arrival in France, the suspect, identified as Abdullah Reda al-Hamahmy, made two separate money transfers via Western Union to a compatriot based in Poland.

The second Egyptian man, who has been identified by police, was reported to have received a total of EUR 5,000 on 31 January and 1 February. It is unclear whether the money was related to terrorist activities.

On Friday the 29-year-old Egyptian national allegedly brandished a machete and shouted “Allahu Akbar” at a shopping mall that is part of the Louvre complex. He injured a soldier on site and was shot several times.

French President Francois Hollande called the incident a terrorist attack.

Al-Hamahmy was hospitalised following the attack and initially refused to collaborate with officials, but Reuters reported that on Tuesday he told investigators his version of the events.

He reportedly said that he wanted to damage the paintings in the world-famous museum, and “avenge the Syrian people”, Reuters said, adding that he was carrying spray paint in his backpack.

The recent incident was the latest in a string of terrorist attacks in France over recent years, which led to the deaths of hundreds of people by Islamist terrorists.

  27. The emasculated West’s death wish
The author has the, ahem, that few others do

One of the most important stories related to the September 11 attacks was the one that was deliberately left largely untold. That story is the response of some Muslims in America to the massacre of nearly 3,000 people by Islamic supremacists in New York, Washington and Pennsylvania.

According to a Washington Post article published on September 18, 2001, in Jersey City, New Jersey, across the river from the destroyed World Trade Center, “Within hours of the two jetliners plowing into the World Trade Center, law enforcement authorities detained and questioned a number of people who were allegedly seen celebrating the attacks and holding tailgate-style parties on rooftops while they watched the devastation on the other side of the river.”

The New York Post reported on September 15, 2001, that Muslim Americans in Patterson, NJ were also seen celebrating the attacks. Word-of-mouth reports abounded in the weeks and months following September 11 of spontaneous celebrations carried out that day in Dearborn, Michigan, in Virginia and other Muslim American communities.

  28. The Blood Libels of the Left

Contrary to assertions by useful idiots like Robert Reich that the Berkeley riots were the work of paramilitary right-wingers, it has become increasingly evident that black-clad Antifa anarchists coordinated with Bay Area community activists and UC Berkeley student groups to orchestrate the violent protests against Milo Yiannapolous. The Antifa rioters are the same mask-wearing, black-outfitted, Molotov cocktail-throwing, fire-burning, stick-carrying pugilist punks featured in The Occupation Manifesto and The Occupation Devolution videos chronicling Occupy Oakland in 2011.

The only point in the article that I disagree with is where she calls Robert Reich a useful idiot. He is one of the committed alt left that worked with the Clintons during the 90s and is still pushing the alt left line in his Collage classes.

  29. Majority of Europeans want their OWN Donald Trump travel ban, poll says (express, Feb 8, 2017)
    http://www.express.co.uk/news/world/764777/donald-trump-travel-ban-muslim-immigration-stopped-europe

“MORE THAN half of Europeans surveyed in a shock poll believe Muslim immigration should be stopped, suggesting support for Donald Trump’s travel ban.

The results come amid an escalating crisis and terror threats by radical Islamic extremists across the Continent.

Attitudes toward the religion appear to reflect fear of so-called Islamisation and frustration at increased immigration into the European Union.

More than 10,000 people from Belgium, Germany, Greece, Spain, France, Italy, Austria, UK, Hungary and Poland took part in the London-based survey, which was carried out before President Trump’s executive order was announced.

Researchers posed the statement “All further migration from mainly Muslim countries should be stopped” to participants when quizzed by the Royal Institute of International Affairs, also known as Chatham House.

They were asked to what extent did they agreed or disagreed with the statement.

Overall, across all 10 of the European countries an average of 55% agreed that all further migration from mainly Muslim countries should be stopped, 25% neither agreed nor disagreed and 20% disagreed.

Majorities were recorded in eight of the 10 countries questioned – ranging from 71% in Poland, 65% in Austria, 53% in Germany and 51% in Italy to 47% in the United Kingdom and 41% in Spain. In no country did the percentage that disagreed surpass 32%…”

      • That would be nice. If the elections are at least semi honest le Pen should be the next President of France and Geert should lead Holland. If the elections are semi honest

        • And if their screwy coalition-style government doesn’t fumble the mandate. I know the miseries from watching Israeli coalition-formation after every election.

  30. Navy’s Depleted Aircraft Will Take Years to Rebuild After Obama-Era Defense Cuts
Nearly two-thirds of Navy strike fighters unable to fly

The Navy’s aircraft arsenal is so depleted it would take several years to rebuild the fleet even if the Trump administration allotted the funding needed to repair inoperable aircraft, according to a policy expert and former Air Force pilot.

John Venable, a senior research fellow for defense policy at the Heritage Foundation, cited a report released Monday that found two-thirds of the Navy’s strike fighter jets are unable to fly due to maintenance problems exacerbated by several years of military budget cuts.

Thirty-five percent of grounded fighter planes are waiting for parts, while 27 percent are undergoing major depot work, according to the report published by Defense News. A full 62 percent of F/A-18 Hornet and Super Hornet strike fighters are out of service, a concerning figure because of the essential role the planes fill in the fleet’s combat power.

In all, more than half of the Navy’s planes are grounded, including some 1,700 combat

  31. DHS Secretary Kelly: ‘The Threat is Real’; ‘Thousands of Fighters’ Available to Infiltrate

(CNSNews.com) – “There are thousands of fighters who are available and have — we have pretty good confidence — have the kind of papers that could get them passed into Western Europe, and certainly, by extension, into the United States,” Homeland Security Secretary Gen. Jack Kelly told Congress on Tuesday.

“So the threat is real.” Kelly said President Trump’s executive order on immigration, issued on Jan. 27, is a “pause” that will give Kelly, working with the CIA and the Departments of Defense, Justice and State, “an opportunity to step back and decide what additional vetting we might add to what we already have, which is minimal, in my view. And then come out of that and say, these are the new rules.”

  32. Germany’s Muslim Demographic Future

    by Soeren Kern
    February 8, 2017 at 5:00 am

    https://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/9892/germany-muslims-demographic

Germany will need to take in 300,000 migrants annually for the next 40 years to stop population decline, according to a leaked government report.

The document, parts of which were published by the Rheinische Post on February 1, reveals that the German government is counting on permanent mass migration — presumably from Africa, Asia and the Middle East — to keep the current size of the German population (82.8 million) stable through 2060.

The report implies that Chancellor Angela Merkel’s decision to allow into the country some 1.5 million mostly Muslim migrants between 2015 and 2016 was not primarily a humanitarian gesture, but a calculated effort to stave off Germany’s demographic decline and to preserve the future viability of the German welfare state.

If most of the new migrants arriving in Germany for the next four decades are from the Islamic world, the Muslim population of Germany could jump to well over 20 million and account for more than 25% of the overall German population by 2060.

Critics of Germany’s open-door immigration policy are warning that the recent surge in Germany’s Muslim population — which surpassed six million in 2016 for the first time — has already changed the face of the country forever.

  33. ‘Too many economic migrants’: Inside the Dutch town that is Geert Wilders stronghold (express, Feb 8, 2017)
    http://www.express.co.uk/news/world/764760/migrants-geert-wilders-almere-holland-freedom-party

“ALMERE, a Dutch town of 200,000 people, is a stronghold of right-wing, anti-migration candidate Geert Wilders.

The Freedom Party leader’s anti-Muslim rhetoric and promise to make the Netherlands great again has made the city a big fan base for him just weeks before the 2017 Dutch elections.

The town people is home to a significant number of immigrants, making up 30 per cent of the population, many from north Africa and Asia – part of a wave of immigration into the Netherlands from the 1960s.

Market trader Joost, 60, said: “It’s too easy for people to come here.

“Too many guys from Turkey and Morocco, economic migrants. I have three small children, what kind of world will they grow up in?”

Another market trader, Ria speaks about her Muslim neighbour, telling the BBC: ”At New Year I tried to shake his hand and he said he didn’t shake hands with non-Muslim women.”

Elsewhere, Mr Wilders’ is also making strides in the Hague suburb of Duindorp, which is home to a 90 per cent population of white people.

Linda married a Muslim man from Morocco called Mostafa.

She told how the couple are now contemplating giving their son Linda’s maiden name to protect him from prejudice.

“Groups don’t mix. They’re afraid of each other because they don’t know each other.”…”

  34. What Is the Muslim Brotherhood?

    by Thomas Quiggin
    February 8, 2017 at 4:30 am

    https://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/9909/muslim-brotherhood

Muslims living in the United States likely have little to fear from the Trump Administration and the 115th Congress. By contrast, Islamists living in the United States have grounds to be worried.

A bill introduced by Senator Ted Cruz to have the Muslim Brotherhood designated as a terrorist group could have far-reaching implications, many of which have received little public attention. The bill, if acted upon, would be the single greatest blow stuck against Islamist extremism in the USA. It would also have far reaching impact in Canada and elsewhere.

Islamists are those who have the desire to “impose any interpretation of Islam over society by law.” A variety of groups ascribe to the Islamist objective of imposing their politicized beliefs on others. Included in these are ISIS, al-Qaeda and Hizb ut-Tahrir. However, the largest and best organized of all the Islamist groups is the Muslim Brotherhood. They are the well-spring from which the Islamist ideology flows. The founder of the Muslim Brotherhood, Hassan al-Banna, stated that “It is in the nature of Islam to dominate, not to be dominated, to impose its law on all nations and to extend its power to the entire planet.”

  36. MERKEL’S GAMBLE: German leader splurges on foreign aid as she faces £70bn migrant bill (express, Feb 8, 2017)
    http://www.express.co.uk/news/politics/764746/Angela-Merkel-Germany-increase-foreign-aid-migrant-housing-bill

“ANGELA Merkel has kicked off a foreign aid splurge which could see Germany overtake Britain as the world’s second highest spender at the same time as shelling out billions on housing newly arrived migrants.

The under-fire Chancellor has signalled her intention to increase international aid spending to record levels even as the cost of her refugee policies spirals to a staggering £70 billion.

German spending on overseas payments skyrocketed to 19.4 billion US dollars in 2016 according to estimates by the SEEK Development think tank – an astonishing 40 per cent hike in just two years.

And the budget for Berlin’s aid ministry, the BMZ, has also ballooned by a bank-busting 15 per cent to 8.5 billion euros for this year, up from 7.4 billion in 2016.

The eye-popping spending increases come in part because Mrs Merkel is refusing to offset the rising cost of housing refugees as part of her international aid budget like other countries do.

Germany is currently the third largest global contributor of international aid behind only Britain and the US, but it is on course to pass the UK within the next couple of years.

Berlin has already pledged to contribute an additional 8.3 billion euros to its foreign aid pot by 2019, whilst Britain’s yearly contributions are set to remain roughly stable at around £14bn a year.

However, critics will say she is taking a massive political risk at a time of growing frustration over the impact of her open door migration policy amongst ordinary German voters…”

  37. Victims of torture must receive EU VISAS, court adviser says

The European Court of Justice’s top adviser said that EU states have to grant ENTRY VISAS to people at risk of torture or inhuman treatment. Opponents fear this could open up a new route for refugees to get into Europe.

Advocate General Paolo Mengozzi said that any EU member state had to provide a visa on humanitarian grounds if new arrivals were judged to be at risk. The announcement came after Belgian authorities refused to grant humanitarian visas to a family from the besieged city of Aleppo, arguing their links to the city were too tenuous and that they were not obliged to admit everyone coming from a war zone like Syria.

“The Belgian State was not entitled to conclude that it was exempted from its positive obligation under Article 4 of the Charter,” Mengozzi said, referring to the European Union’s rulebook on human rights.

Mengozzi’s opinion is not binding – however, the advocate general’s comments are usually followed by the court, which is due to rule on the case of the Syrian family in the coming weeks. The ruling could affect policy across all EU member states.

  38. CBC – Canadian Muslim leaders call on governments to act following mosque shooting

Muslim leaders want governments to create plan to combat systemic racism, Islamophobia

Leaders of Canadian Muslim associations are calling on all three levels of government to take steps to counter Islamophobia and systemic racism.

At 10:30 this morning the National Council of Muslims will be joined by Quebec representatives of the Muslim community, as well as national representatives, to present an open letter to the government.

The Quebec City mosque shooting Jan. 29 killed six men and injured several others.

    =====================================

Coalition calls for concrete action on Islamophobia

A coalition of Canadian Muslim organizations is calling for the creation of a National Day of Remembrance and Action on Islamophobia in the wake of the fatal attack on a Quebec City mosque on January 29, 2017. Alexandre Bissonnette is charged with several counts of murder and attempted murder.

    ‘Now what?’

In a statement, the coalition thanks fellow Canadians for their strong support in the wake of the shooting that took six lives and injured several more. But it asks, “now what?”

The coalition says each level of government has a role to play. It calls on city councils to boost resources of local police to increase training on hate crimes and to provide education and outreach to diverse communities.

Call to raise awareness about racism

It wants each provincial government to create an Anti-Racism Directorate as has the province of Ontario. It examines issues of systemic racism and runs public education campaigns. Further to that, it calls on departments of education to create a mandatory course in high schools on systemic racism.

The coalition is calling on all members of Parliament to support a motion tabled by Member of Parliament Iqra Khalid which would require the Canadian government to study ways to reduce or eliminate system racism and religious discrimination.
