WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi has instructed Egypt’s U.N. mission to postpone a Security Council vote on a draft resolution demanding an end to Israeli settlements, a western diplomat told Reuters on Thursday.
Egypt had circulated the draft on Wednesday evening and the 15-member council had been due to vote at 3 p.m. (1500 ET) on Thursday. It was unclear how the United States, which has traditionally protected Israel from U.N. action, planned to vote.

Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) detained seven members of Tablighi Jamaat in Moscow on Thursday. The Russian Guard Service and special police units helped conduct the operation.
Authorities said that the activists were recruiting members from the Moscow region and sending them to Afghanistan and Pakistan for training.

reuters -Four U.N. council members issue Egypt ultimatum on settlements
New Zealand, Venezuela, Malaysia and Senegal told Egypt on Thursday that if it did not clarify by midnight whether it planned to call a vote on a draft U.N. Security Council resolution demanding an end to Israeli settlements, then they reserved the right to move ahead with the text, diplomats said.
“In the event that Egypt decides that it cannot proceed to call for vote on 23 December or does not provide a response by the deadline, those delegations reserve the right to table the draft … and proceed to put it to vote ASAP,” the four council members said in a note to Egypt, seen by Reuters.
The Palestinians were also a party to the note, which said “there was a strong sense of disappointment” that the 15-member Security Council had not voted on the text as planned on Thursday.

1 – Given the massive stock price bubble it wouldn’t take much for the financial markets to crash, this would create massive turmoil and lead to future attacks of this type as the Moslems try to recreate their victory. There are other problems this would create besides the financial ones, the airlines are using net based boarding passes and check ins. This will disrupt the entire worlds airline service as well as the truck and rail based commercial delivery of goods and passengers.
Discussing this with a retired Sheriff’s deputy more things came up, the traffic lights in most big cities are tied into a central computer that controls them over the net, as is the power grid the Hospitals have a lot of medical devices that are computer controlled and most states have the medical records on a central computer so your medical history is available no matter when you go to get treatment. The stores equiped to use the modern debit/credit cards are tied into the net to send the purchase price to your bank and get approval. If/when this happens it should put an end to the BS about doing away with cash and using debit cards only.

There is something to be said for “brick-and-mortar” establishments. Those organizations that intentionally undermine storefront commerce may be in need of a serious electronic pimp slap.
The overall effect of electronic transactions upon small business is not (at all) entirely positive. In light of how small business creates more jobs than all of Big Business combined, a careful examination of current commercial models may well be in order.
Finally, little has been said with regard to the tremendously negative impact of Social Media upon modern society. Especially among the younger generation. Although this is but one facet of the cybersphere, the vicarious nature of behavior induced by Facebook (e.g., lifestyle envy) and other similar Internet domains constitute a mounting butcher’s bill arising from the dominance of these online time-dumps.
