CHRISTINE PELOSI – Electoral College Members Request Intel Briefing
Dem. electors now want intel brief on Russian role, AND ‘evidence’ from Trump, before they vote
By J.E. Dyer
It seems like mere days ago that Democrats wanted to eliminate the Electoral College, which in their view is organized to unjustly thwart the popular vote outcome and disenfranchise – in 2016 – at least 1.3 million voters.
But now that the CIA has “assessed” that Russia tried to get Trump elected by hacking Democratic email accounts and releasing the files to WikiLeaks, Democratic electors have decided that their role as guardians of the Republic is a supremely important one.
Senior intelligence officials, as well as the FBI, may be declining to endorse the very dicey CIA assessment about the Russian motive.
But a small group of electors has jumped on it with alacrity, requesting that James Clapper, Director of National Intelligence, make sure they have a full briefing on it before they cast their votes on 19 December.
They’ve signed a letter to Clapper making this request. And this is one group of electors that puts a very, shall we say, heroic construction on the electors’ role. They open by sounding very much as if they don’t feel bound to vote for anyone in particular:
http://libertyunyielding.com/2016/12/13/dem-electors-now-want-intel-brief-russian-role-evidence-trump-vote/
Richard: The Dems are doing all they can to deligitimize Donald Trump and his time as President, Every person who is pushing this idea is either a Dem or a never Trumper who is unable to accept the fact that the people have rejected the professional politicians and want people who aren’t part of the system to repair the system and drain the swamp of the corruption that the professional politicians have brought to the US government. The politicians who are doing this are deliberately dividing the US citizens in their quest to turn us into some type of Third World government with a multilayered judicial system with special laws for special people.
We have seen them fomenting a race war by pushing the idea of the US police shooting black males at random, to keep the blacks voting Dem and this is just another way of dividing hte nation so they can set up their dream of a one party nation where only
communistliberal Democrats can run for political office.Intel VIPs fail to endorse CIA, presumably because theory of Russian intervention is absurd
By J.E. Dyer
Before reviewing the latest developments in this fascinating saga, let’s take a moment to get our minds around the narrative the American public is being asked to swallow regarding the supposed Russian attempt to throw the U.S. election to Donald Trump.
I mentioned how absurd the premise of this narrative is in my earlier piece from the weekend. But I want to really highlight it in its stark idiocy, so no one will miss the pointlessness of continuing to pursue it.
We’re being asked to believe that the Russians are so stupid, they think they could somehow win the election for Trump by exposing the Hillary campaign’s emails, and the emails of other Democrats, through WikiLeaks, in the last weeks before voting day.
The Russians, it is suggested, thought this would be an effective strategy for getting Trump elected.
Are you understanding this yet? Would anyone on Planet Earth think that strategy could achieve the goal the Russians were supposedly after?
It’s not just that there’s no way to trace how a “Russian intervention” by this method could have swayed the vote. It’s that no one would be stupid enough to waste time trying to “win the election for Trump” this way. The narrative makes no sense.

Richard: For the new readers, J.E. Dyer is a retired Navel Intelligence Analyst. She is a professional Intel person who is saying that the CIA assessment doesn’t hold water.
From the beginning I have said that the statements that Russia is behind the “hacks” and the release of the emails didn’t make sense. There is nothing in it for Russia and the fact that the “hackers” used techniques that the Russians use could be other parties, including internal Dem leakers, laying a false trail to get the US to look in the wrong direction.
Read her articles she is better at the explanations then I am and makes the case better.
Democratic electors expand call for intelligence briefing
The number of Electoral College members demanding an immediate intelligence briefing on foreign intervention in the presidential election has swelled to 40 electors, most of them joining the effort after a public show of support Monday from the Hillary Clinton campaign.
Thirty additional Democratic electors signed on Tuesday to an open letter to National Intelligence Director James Clapper, arguing that they require the information ahead of Dec. 19, when the Electoral College is set to meet and select the next president.
The list of electors — all but one of them Democrats — is dominated by California, where Christine Pelosi, the daughter of the House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi, spearheaded the effort. So far, 11 of the state’s 55-member Electoral College delegation have signed on.
The only one of the 306 Republican electors to join the letter is Chris Suprun of Texas.
The letter, which is signed by electors from 12 states and Washington D.C., is equally notable for the names that don’t appear. Some of the Democrats’ heaviest hitters on the Electoral College — most notably, former President Bill Clinton — have so far avoided associating with the effort.
Others on the sidelines include New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, and New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman.
Vermont Gov. Peter Shumlin, one of his state’s three electors, said through a spokesman that he supports the request for an intelligence briefing but doesn’t expect to sign the letter.
“The governor absolutely supports the rights of electors to access the information they need to carry out this important duty,” said spokesman Scott Coriell. “The governor thinks that all Americans deserve to know the extent of Russia’s involvement in our election, and he urges the federal government to make as much information as can responsibly be shared available as soon as possible.
The highest-ranking elected officials on the list include incoming Congresswoman Carol-Shea Porter of New Hampshire, New York City Council Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito and Syracuse Mayor Stephanie Miner.
The organizing among Democratic electors represents an unprecedented push by members of a constitutional body that has typically rubber-stamped the statewide results of the general election. They’re demanding that James Clapper, the director of national intelligence for President Barack Obama, brief them on the intelligence community’s latest findings pertaining to Russian attempts to influence the election in Trump’s favor.
A CIA finding that Russia intervened on Trump’s behalf, leaked to press on Friday, has roiled Trump’s transition to the White House, and drew Clinton’s campaign leadership — including chairman John Podesta — off the sidelines. The Democratic National Committee has also highlighted the electors’ call for a briefing.
The 538 members of the Electoral College are due to meet on Monday in their respective state capitals to officially elect the next president. Trump won the popular vote in states that include 306 electors.
Here is the latest list of electors that have joined the call:

Fox News – New developments on CIA’s Russia hack assessment
Catherine Herridge reports from Washington, D.C
I find it ridiculous that Putin would prefer Trump over Clinton and would subvert the American electoral process to this end. Clinton would have been a continuation of Obama’s absent leadership. Putin would have gleefully exploited this as he has the last eight years. As KGB Putin is utterly familiar with the tactics of the Frankfurt School to which the current US regime subscribes, and hence is a qualified expert on the dynamics of the disease afflicting the west. Further, his Russian racism would never submit to an African descendant.
In Trump, Putin sees a street-wise strong man and adversary who he will respect. Imagine Putin’s reaction to Trump’s selection of Mad Dog Mattis for Defense Secretary. Man, he thought, the party is over. Being a few steps ahead, he knows whatever expansionist aspirations he may have been entertaining are dust. Better to set the ground work to work with the guy. The last non-nuclear nuclear option is to crash the dollar by going with a gold-backed Ruble, but this would result in a bitch of a war in which Putin’s head would end up on a stick.
Regarding the illegality of criticizing Islam in western countries it comes as no mystery when one pulls back the Globalist “veil”. The hijrah is exploited and promoted to destroy borders, plain and simple. Once inside, the sharia weapon acts in the service of the hijrah to silence resistance. It will be check and mate for the western somnambulist unless there be a “western spring”.

Be sure to read the two J.E. Dyer articles I posted under one of the videos. She makes the same points without saying that Putin would prefer a foolish corrupt Hillary that Putin could and would run rings around.
The only possible advantage for Russia is that when WWIII goes kinetic it will be to his advantage to have a strong American military to help him fight for Europe and Russia. He remembers the last war when Russia joined the allies and ended up controlling Eastern Europe for around 50 years.

Migrant disaster: ‘Skipper’ guilty over 700 Mediterranean deaths (BBC, Dec 13, 2016)

“A Tunisian man has been found guilty for his part in the sinking of a boat in which 700 migrants died in April 2015.
Mohammed Ali Malek, accused of being the boat’s captain, faces 18 years in jail. A Syrian was on trial with him.
The heavily overcrowded boat sank off the coast of Libya after colliding with a merchant vessel that had come to its rescue.
Only 28 people survived the disaster.
Many of those who died had been crammed into the hold of the fishing boat and locked inside.
Most of the victims on the 27m-long (90ft) boat were from countries including Mali, Gambia, Senegal and Ethiopia…”
Indonesia blasphemy case: Governor weeps in emotional scenes at start of trial (telegraph, Dec 13, 2016)
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2016/12/13/indonesia-blasphemy-case-governor-weeps-emotional-scenes-start/
“Jakarta’s Christian governor, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, wept in court on Tuesday, during a blasphemy trial that is being seen as a test of religious tolerance in the world’s most populous Muslim country, Indonesia.
Purnama, known by his nickname Ahok, stands accused of insulting Islam on the campaign trail in September after he told voters they should not believe religious leaders who used a specific verse in the Koran to claim that Muslims should not be led by non-Muslims.
He has since repeatedly apologised for his statements, which provoked public anger. In his opening statement in court, he insisted his comments were aimed at politicians “incorrectly” using the verse and denied any intention to offend.
“As a person who grew up in Islamic circles, it is not possible for me to insult Islam,” he said, stressing his great respect for the Muslim religion.
“I did not intend to misinterpret Surah Al Maidah 51 [the verse], nor commit blasphemy,” he told the judges, breaking down in tears. “In my statement, I referred to certain politicians who had misused Surah Al Maidah 51 to avoid fair competition prior to upcoming regional elections,” said Purnama.
The governor, a Christian and member of the country’s ethnic Chinese minority, is an anomaly as the first non-Muslim leader of Indonesia’s sprawling capital, Jakarta, in over 50 years…”
What is the difference between this trail and that of Mr Wilders?
The defendant in this trial may end up being executed.
Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani orders work on nuclear-powered warships as he accuses US of ‘violating’ deal (independent, Dec 13, 2016)
http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/middle-east/iran-nuclear-powered-war-ships-response-us-sanctions-a7471566.html
“Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani has ordered the head of the country’s Atomic Energy Organization to start planning the development of nuclear-powered ships in reaction to what he called the United States’ violation of their nuclear deal.
Earlier in December the US Senate voted to extend the Iran Sanctions Act by 10 years, a decision that was criticised by the Iranian foreign minister at the time who said it showed the US government had “a lack of credibility”.
In a letter read out on state television, Mr Rouhani condemned the move as a breach of the 2015 nuclear accord and told the nation’s scientists to begin “planning the design and production of fuel and nuclear power plants for maritime transport”.
The leader also said he had ordered the foreign minister to mount a legal challenge against the US.
The 2015 nuclear accord between Iran and six world powers lifted a variety of sanctions against the nation in exchange for restrictions on the Iranian nuclear programme.
Yet the US keeps its own set of trade restrictions against the country, separate from the agreement, which were set to expire at the end of the year.
Politicians in the Senate said the sanctions were extended not only because of nuclear issues, but also over concerns about ballistic missile-testing and human rights in the country.
President Barack Obama is expected to sign the extension into law in the coming days.”
The main advantage of nuclear powered naval vessels is that they can sail long distances without having to worry about fuel, unless Iran is going to go into the force projection business they are simply bragging hoping to scare their Islamic and Western foes.
‘We CANNOT renounce OUR culture’ Priest CANCELS Nativity because it could offend Muslims (express, Dec 13, 2016)
http://www.express.co.uk/news/world/742698/Priest-Nativity-scene-Italy-could-offend-Muslims-Sante-Braggie
“A CATHOLIC priest has sparked outrage after he cancelled a nativity scene out of fear it could offend Muslims.
Fr Sante Braggiè, from the city of Cremona in northern Italy, said there would be no nativity scene at the local cemetery this year as it could offend people from other faiths whose relatives are buried there.
Fr Braggiè said: “A small corner of the cemetery is reserved for Muslim graves.
“A crib positioned within sight of them could be seen as a lack of respect for followers of other faiths, hurt the sensibilities of Muslims, as well as Indians and even atheists.
“In short, it would be a mess.”
The priest also said that there were a shortage of council workers to set up the crib.
Fr Oreste Mori, Fr Braggiè’s predecessor, said: “Seriously? I can’t believe it.”
According to a report in the Italian newspaper Courier della Serra, he said: “We cannot renounce our culture and traditions.
“That would be an unpardonable weakness.”
“I am, for the time being at least, in Italy, not Saudi Arabia.”
Local councillors have also blasted the priest’s comments, calling on the religious leader to change his mind and run the nativity.
Councillor Cristina Cappellini said: “I hope Fr Braggiè changes his mind and apologises to the community.
“A parish priest should preserve, honour and promote the symbols of our culture, of our traditions, of our Christian identity.”
The local chief of the right wing Northern League Pietro Burgazzi said: “I hope the decision not to put up a crib was not ideological, but hearing the criticisms it seems that it was.
“I want to stress the importance of the Christmas crib as a sign of Christian witness, which is always appreciated by the people of Cremona.””
Removal of the nativity display is a per-emtive surrender to the Moslems and will just make them make more demands on how we can act. This is a very bad move, if the Moslems protest tell them to remove their dead from the cemetery.
“A CATHOLIC priest has sparked outrage after he cancelled a nativity scene out of fear…” Whom does he fear? His followers, his superior, God?
He should fear his conscience and the God, because for him the political correctness is more important than his belief.
He is an example of a bad priest.
A PC priest seems like an oxymoron.
“A PC priest seems like an oxymoron.”
Nah. He’s just a regular moron.
FRANCE’S NO GO ZONES: Women fight back after being BANNED from streets by Muslim men (express, Dec 13, 2016)
http://www.express.co.uk/news/world/742883/Immigration-French-women-protests-take-back-streets-Muslim-majority-areas-France-Paris
“FRENCH women have launched a fightback to reclaim areas of the country turned into no go zones by Muslim men as a shocking report lays bare the state of social segregation caused by mass migration.
A women’s rights campaign group is organising marches and protests in a bid to retake streets in predominantly Islamic neighbourhoods which they say have become entirely male dominated.
La Brigade des Mères, which is aiming to restore gender equality in France’s troubled ‘banlieues’, says women in many communities are now too scared to go out because gangs of young men rule the streets.
And a shocking undercover report, compiled by the TV channel France 2, shows how women are not welcome in bars and cafes in Muslim majority areas, with many men openly hostile to their presence in public at all.
Pascale Boistard, the women’s rights minister, declared: “There are now areas in our country where women can no longer go.”
The disturbing revelations come at a politically sensitive time for France, which will hold presidential elections in March in which far-right leader Marine Le Pen is expected to perform well.
Attitudes towards immigration have hardened in the country following the devastating terror attacks in Paris and Nice, with the Front National poised to capitalise on people’s fears about the erosion of French identity…”
Reform Qatari style: Employers to hold workers’ passports & impose travel bans, Amnesty warns (RT, Dec 13, 2016)
https://www.rt.com/news/370106-migrant-workers-qatar-amnesty/
“Migrant workers in Qatar remain at risk of being subjected to “forced labor” despite “meager reforms,” Amnesty International has warned, noting that many of the exploited laborers have been tasked with building the 2022 World Cup stadiums.
Qatar says the new law that comes into effect on Tuesday will give workers more flexibility, freedom, and protection. The country has brought in hundreds of thousands of workers from countries including India, Nepal, and Bangladesh to build projects related to the World Cup.
However, Amnesty says the law “barely scratches the surface” in addressing Qatar’s flawed labor system, and still leaves migrant workers at the mercy of “exploitative bosses” and at risk of being subjected to “forced labor.”…”

By Benny Huang
Washington, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser says that her city can no longer continue to support out-of-towners at the city’s homeless shelters. “We have an obligation to serve our residents,” said the mayor. “But we cannot serve the entire region.… We’re serving everybody else’s residents. We can’t serve our own. Our own residents are standing at the back of the line.” Last month she proposed a new policy that would require homeless people to prove their residency before being admitted to homeless shelters.
Proving residency can be quite tricky when a person does not have, um, a residence. Mayor Bowser demonstrated the absurdity of her proposal when she asked, “Do they have utilities? Do they have a lease? Do they have any way to demonstrate that they live here?” No, doofus. People who live under highway overpasses do not usually have leases or utility bills.
Bowser compounded the stupidity of her comments when she categorically refused to exclude illegal aliens. “Anybody, regardless of their immigration status, would have to demonstrate that they are a DC resident,” she said. So the city will gladly take in the poor from other countries, even those who are in the country illegally, just not people from outside the District. Yeah, that makes sense.
Despite the insanity of Mayor Bowser’s proposal, I can understand the bind she’s in. Budgets are, by definition, the apportionment of finite resources. She’s determined that the social services budget is overburdened and that she has to do something about it. She doesn’t want to slam the door in anyone’s face, but unfortunately she must or there will be no social services for anyone.

Is this the 21st-century version of the Cloward-Piven strategy?
To answer the question from further down in the article. Probably.
This along with Obama’s efforts to drive everyone onto the welfare rolls combined with his spending like a drunken sailor has driven the US to the brink of bankruptcy. Hopefully the coming economic crisis won’t be a total crash and we can go through a structured bankruptcy.

BREITBART – Soros Think Tank Claims Russia Could Engineer Migrant Sex Attacks to Boost Right-Wing Parties
An “expert” from the George Soros-funded and founded European Council on Foreign Relations (ECFR) claims intelligence agencies in Russia and Syria could set migrant sex mobs on German women in order to swing the country’s federal election.
Bild, Germany’s largest tabloid, carries the claim in a piece which asserts that Russia intends to “sabotage the outcome” of the Bundestag election next year by causing a “radical reshaping of public opinion”.
The ECFR’s Gustav Gressel said Moscow’s interference could go beyond spreading “disinformation”, and suggested it’s possible that Moscow could mobilise secret agents linked to the Russian mafia, Bashar al-Assad, and even long-deposed Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein to sexually assault German women.
“A section of the refugees from Iraq and Syria, if only a very small section, had connections with Assad or Saddam Hussein’s secret services”, he said.
According to Gressel, these people could be specifically targeted by intelligence agents or organised crime and directed to cause disturbances in Germany.
“What would happen, for example, if a similar event to [the mass sex attacks on New Year’s Eve] in Cologne were repeated at a summer festival before the election? How would Merkel stand then? What would be the consequence for the Bundestag election? Of course, this is an extreme example, but it is within the range of possibility,” he said.
The article, co-written by Julian Röpcke — a journalist whose unflinching support of al-Qaeda and the most extremist “rebels” in Syria earned him the nickname #JihadiJulian, a popular hashtag campaign on Twitter — claims Moscow interfered with the U.S. election by publishing internal Democratic National Convention documents through Wikileaks.
The ECFR is a Soros-funded, pan-European think tank of which the arch-globalist billionaire was a founding Council member. The organisation’s website featured a piece by the Hungarian hedge fund manager as early as February 2009 marking Russia as “hostile” and a “threat” to “open society values”, in which he instructed Europe to “neutralise” the nation.
The European Union has strongly signalled its intent to take action against “fake news” in recent weeks.
Despite the fact that information dealing with migrants attacking their European hosts has also been suggested to be “fake news” the media in parts of Europe routinely self-censors what they report, with journalists directed to avoid “stirring up prejudice” in their work.

Other eyewitnesses said the man was shouting “death to Muslims” and “go back to Syria”.”
“Shellby Curry was with her one-year old child when she saw a man “waving what looked to be a knife in his hand” near the station and screaming words like “Muslims f***ing hate them, kill them all”.

Congress’s push against anti-Semitism a reminder of strings that come with taxpayer money
By J.E. Dyer
Should universities and colleges be able to retain federal funding when they tolerate what is arguably anti-Semitism from college-sponsored groups on their campuses?
If there is an argument about what actually constitutes anti-Semitism, for the purpose of question one, who decides the issue?
The answers to these questions are only hard if you don’t know how to do freedom of speech anymore, or separate the realm of unsubsidized private speech from the realm of what the taxpayer is on the hook to subsidize.
America too often proves now that she no longer recognizes the framework of free speech. And she proves constantly, at this point, that she can’t separate unsubsidized private speech from taxpayer-subsidized speech.
We’re seeing that in spades with the controversy emerging over a current push in Congress to adopt the U.S. State Department’s definition of anti-Semitism, for the purposes of the U.S. Department of Education. Congress’s intent is to ensure that the Education Department has a consistent, rigorous standard with which to advise schools on what constitutes anti-Semitism. If schools fail to meet that standard, and/or fail to repair deficiencies, they could lose federal funding in various forms.

Germany: Russia shouldn’t have ‘illusion’ that fall of Aleppo will end Syrian conflict – Steinmeier
German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier stated that Russia shouldn’t think that the Syrian conflict will come to an end should Aleppo be re-taken in full by Syrian government forces, during a press conference with his Danish counterpart Anders Samuelsen in Berlin, Tuesday.
SOT, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, German Foreign Minister (German): “I hope that the understanding comes, that in the end there is no military solution to the Syrian [conflict] and civil war. Russia shouldn’t have the illusion that in the case of Aleppo the war will come to an end. It will continue through other means, a combination of military confrontation and terrorist attacks, but the war won’t come to an end, instead it will continue in other areas of Syria. That’s why there should be a return to conversations about the political future of Syria.”
SOT, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, German Foreign Minister (German): “And it is not the way the regime or Russia claim at the present moment, that in those areas of Aleppo which are now in the hands of the regime, that Russia and the regime would take responsibility for humanitarian aid or provide it, rather they are the United Nations, the World Food Programme, it is the international Red Cross with the Red Crescent and partner organisations who primarily take care of the people who have suffered for so long, but who at least have survived.”
SOT, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, German Foreign Minister (German): “Yesterday we again made a dramatic appeal from Brussels; we appealed again to the responsibilities of the Syrian regime, and at the same time to those who support the Syrian regime, Iran and Russia, for those who could still flee from Aleppo.”
SOT, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, German Foreign Minister (German): “On one hand we hear that Trump wants to develop a better relationship towards Russia. What that means for the variety of conflicts in which Russia and the USA oppose each other, I cannot foresee at the moment.”

UN Security Council to Meet on Aleppo
The U.N. Security Council has scheduled an emergency meeting on Aleppo, where Syrian government forces appear on the verge of seizing the city’s last rebel enclave.
France’s U.N. Ambassador Francois Delattre told reporters Tuesday that “war crimes and potentially crimes against humanity are committed on a daily basis in Aleppo,” and that the council must try “to stop the bloodshed, to evacuate populations safely, to assist those in need.”
Delattre said that “in these darkest hours for Aleppo it’s never too late to do anything we can to save lives.”
He said “the worst humanitarian tragedy of the 21st century is unfolding before our eyes” and warned that Aleppo may be “the harbinger of more disasters to come.”
The Russian military says Western criticism of the operation to retake rebel-held neighborhoods of Aleppo is hypocritical.
Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Maj. Gen. Igor Konashenkov said Tuesday that the militants had used over 100,000 residents of the city’s eastern neighborhoods as human shields. He says civilians fleeing eastern Aleppo have recounted militant repression against anyone who attempted to leave.
Konashenkov said video reports showing the damage to civilian areas from purported Russian strikes had been staged by the militants.
He said Russian sappers inspecting schools and hospitals in eastern Aleppo found that all of them had been turned into militants’ headquarters, ammunition depots and arms factories.
Konashenkov also accused Western powers and international organizations of failing to deliver humanitarian aid to eastern Aleppo.
Russia, a key ally of Syrian President Bashar Assad, has charged Western nations with supporting “terrorists,” the Syrian government’s term for all those fighting against it.

reuters – Aleppo military operation to end within hours -Russian U.N. envoy
UNITED NATIONS, Dec 13 (Reuters) – Russian U.N. Ambassador Vitaly Churkin told the Security Council on Tuesday that the Russian-backed Syrian Army’s military operation in Aleppo would end “in the next few hours.”
“All militants, together with members of their family and the injured, currently are going through agreed corridors in directions that they have chosen themselves voluntarily,” Churkin said.
U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, Samantha Power, told the council that the Syrian government and its allies Russia and Iran bore responsibility for killings of civilians in Aleppo.

UN: ‘As if she was Mother Teresa herself’ Churkin slams US Envoy’s Aleppo accusations
Russian Ambassador to the United Nations, Vitali Churkin, hit back at comments made by his US counterpart, Samantha Power at a UN Security Council meeting on Aleppo in New York City, Monday saying she “built her statement as if she was Mother Teresa herself.”
SOT, Samantha Power, US Ambassador to the United Nations (English): “To the Assad regime, Russia and Iran, 3 member states behind the conquest of and carnage in Aleppo, you bear responsibility for these atrocities by rejecting UN ICRC evacuation efforts, you are signalling to those militia who are massacring innocents to keep doing what they are doing, denying or obfuscating the facts as you will do today, saying up is down, and black is white will not absolve you, when one day there is a full accounting of the horrors committed in this assault of Aleppo, and that day will come sooner or later, you will not be able to say you did not know what was happening, you will not be able to say you were not involved, we all know what was happening and we all know you were involved. Aleppo will join the ranks of those events in world history, that define modern evil that stain our conscience decades later, Halabja, Rwanda, Srebrenica and now Aleppo. To the Assad regime, Russia and Iran, your forces and proxies are carrying out these crimes, your barrel bombs and mortars and airstrikes have allowed the militia to encircle tens of thousands of civilians in your ever tightening noose, it is your noose, 3 member states of the UN contributing to a noose around civilians, it should shame you.”
SOT, Vitali Churkin, Russian Ambassador to the United Nations (Russian): “I do not want to remind the Western Troika which called for today’s meeting and carried it out on a raised voice, about its role in the creation of ISIS as a result of US-UK intervention in Iraq and US policy in this country. I do not want to remind about the role that these three countries played in unwinding the Syrian crisis, which resulted in such a dire consequences and gave the space to terrorist organisations on the territories of Iraq and Syria. But the speech by US representative is particularly strange to me, which built her statement as if she is Mother Theresa herself. Please, remember which country you represent. Please, remember the track record of your country.”

Russia: All military action in eastern Aleppo stopped and Syrian government in control
The cease-fire reportedly went into effect Tuesday evening
Russia says all military action in eastern Aleppo has stopped and the Syrian government is now in control, according to The Associated Press.
Earlier in the day, Syrian rebels said an agreement was reached with Russia for a cease-fire in Aleppo to evacuate remaining civilians and rebels from besieged districts.
Osama Abu Zayd, a legal adviser for an umbrella group of rebel factions known as the Free Syrian Army, said the cease-fire went into effect Tuesday evening.
He said the first batch will begin evacuating later Tuesday.
Yasser al-Youssef, a spokesman for the Nour el-Din el-Zinki rebel group, confirmed the cease-fire and saidd the goal is to evacuate civilians and rebels from besieged areas.
There was no immediate comment from the Syrian government or Russia on the reports.
The decision came after U.N.’s children’s agency warned that dozens of unaccompanied children were trapped in a building under fire in eastern Aleppo and called for their immediate evacuation from the rebel enclave.
UNICEF said in a statement on Tuesday that there could be more than 100 children trapped in the building.
UNICEF regional director, Geert Cappelaere, said it’s “time for the world to stand up for the children of Aleppo and bring their living nightmare to an end.”
Pro-government forces have launched a ferocious assault on Aleppo’s few remaining opposition-held neighborhoods, trapping thousands of civilians under unrelenting heavy fire. There are unconfirmed reports that government forces are killing civilians.
Cappelaere said that UNICEF is “deeply concerned” over the unverified reports of the “extrajudicial killings of civilians, including children.”
The U.N. human rights office said it received reports of Syria’s pro-government forces killing at least 82 civilians as they entered the last remaining strongholds of the rebels in eastern Aleppo.
Spokesman Rupert Colville of the U.N. human rights office said the reports recount pro-government forces entering homes and killing some civilians “on the spot” in the former rebel enclave.
Colville spoke to reporters in Geneva on Tuesday.
He said 11 women and 13 children were among those reportedly killed in four neighborhoods of the increasingly-shrinking rebel enclave in the city of Aleppo.
Colville said the reports came in late the previous evening and that he doesn’t know exactly when the killings took place.

Russian Hacking Hysteria
The Left can’t stop blaming the vast Russian conspiracy.
December 13, 2016
All this talk of a vast Russian conspiracy to hack U.S. computer networks to put Donald Trump in the White House is difficult to believe.
It may turn out to be true that somebody either hacked the Democratic National Committee or leaked emails from inside the DNC to expose Democrats’ dirty tricks against the Trump campaign. Among those illicit operations were the effort to foment violence at Trump campaign rallies, rigging the Democrat primaries against Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), and the leaking of debate questions by then-CNN pundit and now acting DNC chairman Donna Brazile.
The Left’s immediate goal, as it was during and after the bitter 36-day-long Bush versus Gore recent in Florida in 2000, is working toward a broader narrative. Left-wingers are laboring to delegitimize the incoming president because he is a Republican. Democracy isn’t working properly if it puts non-leftists in power, left-wingers reason, so all GOP chief executives must be vigorously opposed.
Commie agitprop director Michael Moore is encouraging angry left-wing mobs to come to Washington, D.C., and riot in the streets of the nation’s capital on Inauguration Day in an effort to prevent or at least cast a shadow over Trump’s assumption of the powers of the presidency. The idea is to do as much damage as possible to Trump before he even gets sworn in.

The Left’s never-ending war
With their policies rejected by voters, the purpose of the Left isn’t to govern. It is to render their societies ungovernable.
December 13, 2016
The push among the American Left to discredit the results of last month’s presidential election entered a new phase last Friday with the White House’s announcement that outgoing US President Barack Obama has ordered US intelligence agencies to review evidence of Russian hacking in last month’s elections on behalf of President-elect Donald Trump.
The investigation itself is unlikely to lead to any conclusive results. The FBI, which is responsible for carrying out this sort of investigation, saw no evidence that Russian hacking was aimed specifically at assisting Trump’s campaign against Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.
Despite this, Obama has chosen to make the probe the top priority of US intelligence agencies.
He urged them to finish their investigation before he leaves office. And, according to his deputy press secretary Eric Schultz, he aims to publicize as many the findings as he can.
Friday afternoon, Schultz said, “We’re going to make public as much as we can. As you can imagine, something like this might include sensitive and even classified information. When that report is submitted, we’re going to take a look. We want to brief Congress and the relevant stakeholders, possibly state directors.”
Democratic Senator Ron Wyden responded positively to Schultz’s statement. “This is good news,” he said. “Declassifying and releasing information about the Russian government and the US election, and doing so quickly, must be a priority.”
But why disclose the findings of an inconclusive investigation? There is only one reason to do so: to delegitimize the election results and so make the Trump administration radioactive for Democrats.

Stop Fake News With the RealNews™ Revolution
You have nothing to lose but reality.
December 13, 2016
Daniel Greenfield
On Tuesday, November 8, millions of gender studies professors, cultural appropriation protesters and environmental ethicists were tucked into their beds in their footy pajamas confident in the reports by the RealNews™ that Hillary Clinton would be the next progressive President of the United States.
Meanwhile the “Fake News” insisted laughably that Donald J. Trump would win.
Next morning they found out that the real news had been fake and the fake news had been real. To prevent that from ever happening again, RealNews™ launched a crusade against “Fake News.” Only once “Fake News,” a category that covers everything from FOX News to random people on Reddit, has been entirely censored, can the reality-based community feel safe in its imaginary RealNews™ world.
RealNews™ has since revealed that Trump didn’t really win because he lost the popular vote, only won because of Russian hackers and the Electoral College. And the Electoral College should be abolished unless it agrees to make Hillary Clinton president in which case, four legs good, two legs better. Almost 5 million progressives took time out from angrily downloading browser plugins that replace every mention of Trump with Bernie Sanders to sign a petition demanding that Hillary Clinton be made president.

Exclusive: Top U.S. spy agency has not embraced CIA assessment on Russia hacking – sources
http://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-trump-intelligence-idUSKBN14204E
The overseers of the U.S. intelligence community have not embraced a CIA assessment that Russian cyber attacks were aimed at helping Republican President-elect Donald Trump win the 2016 election, three American officials said on Monday.
While the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) does not dispute the CIA’s analysis of Russian hacking operations, it has not endorsed their assessment because of a lack of conclusive evidence that Moscow intended to boost Trump over Democratic opponent Hillary Clinton, said the officials, who declined to be named.
The position of the ODNI, which oversees the 17 agency-strong U.S. intelligence community, could give Trump fresh ammunition to dispute the CIA assessment, which he rejected as “ridiculous” in weekend remarks, and press his assertion that no evidence implicates Russia in the cyber attacks

What Was Behind the Trial of Geert Wilders?
by George Igler
December 13, 2016 at 4:00 am
https://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/9554/behind-wilders-trial
Much has been made of the 2016 populist revolt in the West, beginning with Britain’s June 23 decision to leave the European Union, and culminating with the victory of president-elect Donald Trump on November 8. The narrative of change is understandably seductive, but has recently been dealt successive blows by the domestic circumstances that so characterize European politics.
Despite traditions of liberty being placed at the heart of the successful Trump campaign, the promise of a new economic approach also enabled him to cross the line on election day.
The Brexit vote similarly took place under a referendum that allowed Britain’s voting populace to defy the stated preference of the majority of their elected parliamentarians.
The most disturbing recent development on the European continent, however, was Friday’s conviction of Geert Wilders on two charges, “inciting discrimination and insulting a minority group,” for asking supporters whether they wanted “fewer Moroccans” in the Netherlands, at a small public rally in a bar in The Hague, on March 19, 2014.
WaPo -Scientists are frantically copying U.S. climate data, fearing it might vanish under Trump
Alarmed that decades of crucial climate measurements could vanish under a hostile Trump administration, scientists have begun a feverish attempt to copy reams of government data onto independent servers in hopes of safeguarding it from any political interference.
The efforts include a “guerrilla archiving” event in Toronto, where experts will copy irreplaceable public data, meetings at the University of Pennsylvania focused on how to download as much federal data as possible in the coming weeks, and a collaboration of scientists and database experts who are compiling an online site to harbor scientific information.
“Something that seemed a little paranoid to me before all of a sudden seems potentially realistic, or at least something you’d want to hedge against,” said Nick Santos, an environmental researcher at the University of California at Davis, who over the weekend began copying government climate data onto a nongovernment server, where it will remain available to the public. “Doing this can only be a good thing. Hopefully they leave everything in place. But if not, we’re planning for that.”
In recent weeks, President-elect Donald Trump has nominated a growing list of Cabinet members who have questioned the overwhelming scientific consensus around global warming. His transition team at the Department of Energy has asked agency officials for names of employees and contractors who have participated in international climate talks and worked on the scientific basis for Obama administration-era regulations of carbon emissions. One Trump adviser suggested that NASA no longer should conduct climate research and instead should focus on space exploration.
Those moves have stoked fears among the scientific community that Trump, who has called the notion of man-made climate change “a hoax” and vowed to reverse environmental policies put in place by President Obama, could try to alter or dismantle parts of the federal government’s repository of data on everything from rising sea levels to the number of wildfires in the country.
Michael Halpern, deputy director of the Center for Science and Democracy at the advocacy group Union of Concerned Scientists, argued that Trump has appointed a “band of climate conspiracy theorists” to run transition efforts at various agencies, along with nominees to lead them who share similar views.
“They have been salivating at the possibility of dismantling federal climate research programs for years. It’s not unreasonable to think they would want to take down the very data that they dispute,” Halpern said in an email. “There is a fine line between being paranoid and being prepared, and scientists are doing their best to be prepared. .?.?. Scientists are right to preserve data and archive websites before those who want to dismantle federal climate change research programs storm the castle.”
To be clear, neither Trump nor his transition team have said the new administration plans to manipulate or curtail publicly available data. The transition team did not respond to a request for comment. But some scientists aren’t taking any chances.
“What are the most important .gov climate assets?” Eric Holthaus, a meteorologist and self-proclaimed “climate hawk,” tweeted from his Arizona home Saturday evening. “Scientists: Do you have a US .gov climate database that you don’t want to see disappear?”
Within hours, responses flooded in from around the country. Scientists added links to dozens of government databases to a Google spreadsheet. Investors offered to help fund efforts to copy and safeguard key climate data. Lawyers offered pro bono legal help. Database experts offered to help organize mountains of data and to house it with free server space. In California, Santos began building an online repository to “make sure these data sets remain freely and broadly accessible.”
Climate data from NASA and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration have been politically vulnerable. When Tom Karl, director of the National Centers for Environmental Information, and his colleagues published a study in 2015 seeking to challenge the idea that there had been a global warming “slowdown” or “pause” during the 2000s, they relied, in significant part, on updates to NOAA’s ocean temperature data set, saying the data “do not support the notion of a global warming ‘hiatus.’”
In response, the U.S. House Science, Space and Technology Committee chair, Rep. Lamar S. Smith (R-Tex.), tried to subpoena the scientists and their records.
That effort launched by Holthaus is one of several underway to preserve key federal scientific data.
In Philadelphia, researchers at the University of Pennsylvania, along with members of groups such as Open Data Philly and the software company Azavea, have been meeting to figure out ways to harvest and store important data sets.
At the University of Toronto this weekend, researchers are holding what they call a “guerrilla archiving” event to catalogue key federal environmental data ahead of Trump’s inauguration. The event “is focused on preserving information and data from the Environmental Protection Agency, which has programs and data at high risk of being removed from online public access or even deleted,” the organizers said. “This includes climate change, water, air, toxics programs.”
The event is part of a broader effort to help San Francisco-based Internet Archive with its End of Term 2016 project, an effort by university, government and nonprofit officials to find and archive valuable pages on federal websites. The project has existed through several presidential transitions.
At the American Geophysical Union’s fall meeting in San Francisco, where more than 20,000 earth and climate scientists have swarmed the city’s biggest conference center this week, an air of gallows humor marked many conversations. Some young scientists said their biggest personal concern is funding for their research, much of which relies on support from NASA and other agencies.
“You just don’t know what’s coming,” said Adam Campbell, who studies the imperiled Ross Ice Shelf of Antarctica.
But others also arrived at the meeting with a strengthened sense of resolve. Campbell was planning to join hundreds of other people at a rally Tuesday, organized by the activist group Climate Truth, encouraging researchers to “stand up for science.” “People have felt a call to arms,” Campbell said. “We need to be outspoken.”
Lawyers with the Climate Science Legal Defense Fund — which provides legal assistance to researchers facing lawsuits over their work on climate change — will be holding one-on-one consultations with researchers who think they might need help from a lawyer. And the organization’s table in the AGU exhibition hall is piled high with booklets titled “Handling Political Harassment and Legal Intimidation: A Pocket Guide for Scientists.”
“We literally thought about it the day after the election,” said Lauren Kurtz, the legal defense fund’s executive director. “I have gotten a lot of calls from scientists who are really concerned. .?.?. So it’s intended in some ways to be reassuring, to say, ‘There is a game plan; we’re here to help you.’”
The 16-page guide contains advice for government researchers who believe their work is being suppressed, as well as how scientists should react if they receive hate mail or death threats.
Holthaus, who encouraged scientists to flag key databases, said the effort to safeguard them is mostly precautionary.
“I don’t actually think that it will happen,” he said of efforts by an incoming administration to obscure or alter scientific data. “But I think it could happen. .?.?. All of these data sets are priceless, in the sense that if there is a gap, it greatly diminishes their usefulness.”
That’s the main concern for Andrew Dessler, a professor of atmospheric sciences at Texas A&M University. He said he doubts that even the most hostile administration would try to do away with existing climate data, given the potential backlash.
“I think it’s much more likely they’d try to end the collection of data, which would minimize its value. Having continuous data is crucial for understanding long-term trends,” Dessler said. “Trends are what climate change is about — understanding these long-term changes. Think about how much better off the people who don’t want to do anything about climate change would be if all the long-term temperature trends didn’t exist.”
He added, “If you can just get rid of the data, you’re in a stronger position to argue we should do nothing about climate change.”

The Department of Energy said Tuesday it will reject the request by President-elect Donald Trump’s transition team to name staffers who worked on climate change programs.
Energy spokesman Eben Burnhan-Snyder said the agency received “significant feedback” from workers regarding a questionnaire from the transition team that leaked last week.
“Some of the questions asked left many in our workforce unsettled,” Snyder said.
The survey for department leadership included more than 70 questions regarding what the agency does, its workforce, costs, professional affiliations and more.
But it also asked for a list of employees who worked on various climate change priorities in President Obama’s administration, including the Paris climate agreement and the social cost of carbon, an accounting measure for the costs of climate change.
That led to fears that Trump’s administration was undertaking a “witch hunt” to single out those workers.
“We are going to respect the professional and scientific integrity and independence of our employees at our labs and across our department,” Burnham-Snyder said in the Tuesday statement, first reported by The Washington Post.
“We will be forthcoming with all publicly-available information with the transition team. We will not be providing any individual names to the transition team.”
The head of the union for workers at the Energy Department’s Washington headquarters had also expressed concern with the questionnaire.
“My members are upset and have questions about what this means. These are all civil servants who do their jobs,” Tony Reardon, national president of the National Treasury Employees Union, said in a statement.
“They have no wish to be caught up in political winds — they are nonpartisan employees — scientists, engineers, statisticians, economists and financial experts — who were hired for their knowledge and they bring their talent and experience to the job every day,” he said, adding that the union “will do all it can to ensure that merit system rules are followed.”
Laws and regulations regarding civil service workers make it illegal to fire or punish workers for political purposes, even when an administration changes.

Energy Dept refuses to name staffers who worked on climate
Then FIRE every last one of them. Non-compliance with a presidential order would be a good place to start, even if it requires sending every last person in the department an official letter of inquiry.
Two things about “Climate Change”:
1.) Notice how they dropped the term “(Man Made) Global Warming”? Why is that?
2.) The climate is always changing. It has been forever and will continue to. The amount of “climate research” that is performed by academics—most of whom are utterly dependent upon outside grants that usually dry up if findings do not correspond with that donor’s agenda—far outweighs that done by shills who work for Big Oil. Most significant is the frequency with which “climate researchers” have been caught red-handed fudging or cherry-picking their data.
Of far greater importance is to note how the theory of “Climate Change” is routinely validated only by scientific consensus. NASA’s own webpage states:
Here’s what the the superb author, Michael Crichton had to say—in his brilliant 2003 Caltech lecture, “Aliens Cause Global Warming“—about consensus and science (which has historically killed millions of people):
Yet, somehow, all of
of the Great Unwashedus unlettered, non-scientific, ignoramuses are supposed to blindly gobble down their hysterical (in both senses) propaganda about “Climate Change”.Please be sure to watch: The Great Global Warming Swindle
I think that is grounds for dismissal.
Alarmed that decades of crucial climate measurements could vanish under a hostile Trump administration, scientists have begun a feverish attempt to copy reams of government data onto independent servers in hopes of safeguarding it from any political interference.
They don’t want to have to fake the data again, they can’t remember what the current lies are and are afraid they will screw up the scam.
When you tell the truth, you don’t have to remember a lie.
That is why I don’t lie.

China’s behavior towards Taiwan is imperialistic. Is Trump not right when he is looking for contact with Taiwan?
There has been no great example of the establishment of a civil society in Asia over the last decades and the transition from a dictatorship to democracy as Taiwan. What the Taiwanese have done is incredible. Therefore, it is actually a shame how the international community deals with the country when it totally isolated it on Chinese pressure. Taiwan can not even participate in international conferences of the World Health Organization. In this respect, it would not be wrong to consider the attitude towards Taiwan. But not as rash and provocative as Trump does.
Why not?
Because, firstly, he needs to know what is at stake: the one-China policy is at the heart of Chinese nationalism. Secondly, he needed a coherent strategy instead of making some say on Twitter or in TV interviews. Trump risked by his hip shots in one of the most important regions of the 21st century instability, which is crazy and incredibly dangerous. Thus wars arise.**

Germany needs to respond to state-sponsored Salafism, experts say (DW, Dec 13, 2016)
http://www.dw.com/en/germany-needs-to-respond-to-state-sponsored-salafism-experts-say/a-36753159
“Policy toward Saudi Arabia may have to change after an intelligence report found that the Saudi government directly supports fundamentalist Islamic groups in Germany. One focus could be arms sales to Riyadh.
Berlin’s relations with some of its main partners in the Middle East were under critical scrutiny on Tuesday after a leaked intelligence report linked the governments of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Qatar with Salafist movements in Germany.
It has long been suspected that states in the Middle East support the missionary efforts of Islamic fundamentalists. This report, carried out by Germany’s domestic and foreign spy agencies on behalf of the German government, is noteworthy in that it names three Salafist organizations it says are “closely connected with government offices in their home countries.” The report added that “global proselytizing” remains part of Saudia Arabia’s “reason of state” and an integral part of Saudi foreign policy. The report predicts that Salafist organizations will “continue to expand their activities in Europe and Germany.”
Germany’s foreign intelligence agency, the BND, declined to confirm the accuracy of the leaked excerpts or give any further details from the report, saying that it only provided information to the government. But experts say that the warning about state-sponsored Salafism should be taken seriously.
“I think these reports are credible,” Sebastian Sons from the think tank German Council on Foreign Relations told Deutsche Welle. “It’s well known that for decades Saudi Arabia has been launching missionary initiatives throughout the world, both by using private foundations and by sending clergymen abroad. Saudi Arabia wants to present itself as the leader of the Sunni Islamic world.”
The report says that it’s impossible to distinguish between missionary work and support for jihadist violence in one of the organizations, the Kuwaiti Revival of Islamic Heritage Society. The latest estimates put the number of Salafists in Germany at slightly below 10,000 – politicians agree that they represent a potential risk.
“The danger is real and shouldn’t be underestimated,” says Social Democratic Member of Parliament and Middle East expert Rolf Mützenich. “For quite some time we’ve had indications and evidence that German Salafists are getting assistance, which is approved by the governments of Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Kuwait, in the form of money, the sending of imams and the building of Koran schools and mosques.”
And there’s one group some observers fear could be particularly susceptible to radicalization:

Austria reinforces barrier to Turkish EU membership (thelocal, Dec 13, 2016)
http://www.thelocal.at/20161213/austria-reinforces-barrier-to-turkish-eu-membership
“The EU said Tuesday it would open no new areas in Turkey’s membership talks in the “prevailing circumstances” because of concerns about Ankara’s post-coup crackdown.
Austria however refused to sign the statement because it wants a complete freeze of Turkey’s long-stalled process for joining the 28-member bloc, including negotiations that are currently underway.
“Under the currently prevailing circumstances, no new chapters are considered for opening,” said the statement by the European Union presidency, which is currently held by Slovakia.
A “chapter” is a specific area of negotiations in the membership talks, on issues ranging from human rights to economic cooperation.
The development is likely to further strain EU ties with Turkey in the wake of the government’s mass arrests and purges following the failed coup against President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in July…”
Malian Migrants Denounce Inhumane Treatment by Algerian Authorities (moroccoworldnews, Dec 13, 2016)
https://www.moroccoworldnews.com/2016/12/203655/malian-migrants-denounce-inhumane-treatment-algerian-authorities/
“Casablanca – Malian migrants expelled from Algeria by the Algerian Security Forces are accusing the latter of violence leading to injuries and deaths upon their arrival to Bamako.
The Malian migrants who arrived in Mali’s Capital, Bamako, have denounced the violence of the Algerian authorities and revealed cases of injuries and deaths among them during their deportation process.
In an attempt to verify these allegations, AFP has requested details from the Algerian Authorities, but official sources have not yet confirmed the deaths nor supplied any details regarding the massive deportation which began in early December.
Ousmane Coulibaly, one of the migrants who arrived at the headquarters of the Civil Defense in Mali has told AFP that Algerian forces are “racist,” claiming that, “We were beaten and at least three Malians were killed.”
Coulibaly gives a horrifying account of the atrocities he and his fellow Malians allegedly suffered at the hands of Algerian authorities. African migrants were “parked” in a “large yard” and some Malians had their head smashed against a wall or an iron bar even as they were trying to escape the blows of the officer’s truncheons.
“Others were wounded and one of them died during the transfer from Algiers to Tamanrasset at the Nigerian border,” adds Coulibaly.
Another deportee, named Moussa Kanté, states that he and his peers suffered a “lack of water and food” on their journey to Niger and claims that 40 people “were given one baguette of bread” which they were all meant to share.
A third deportee, Oumar aged 22, has told the same source that the transport of the deportees from Algiers to the Nigerian border was carried out by bus. As they got closer to the Nigerian capital of Niamey, the deportees were transferred to “trucks that usually carry sand.”
Allegations of inhumane abuse continue, expanding to other legal migrants. Youssouf Doumbia was arrested on December 1 along with others. When they asked about the reason for their detention, they were told that they were being taken to get “vaccinated.”
Other Malians who were expelled are also reporting that they were robbed of their belongings as they were deported.
These violent repatriations of African migrants, who arrived to Algeria by the millions following the chaos in Lybia, are becoming commonplace. Migrants are generally arrested in the large Mediterranean cities in the north and then transported by bus to a Visitor Center in Tamanrasset before being deported to their respective countries. The Algerian Red Crescent supervises these operations.”
EU draft calls for voluntary repatriation from Libya (ansamed, Dec 13, 2016)

“BRUSSELS – Draft conclusions for an EU meeting on Tuesday called for initiatives to offer voluntary repatriation for migrants stuck in Libya and to reduce dangerous journeys. The recommendations came in the ‘Migration’ section, which added that support needed to be strengthened for the Libyan Coast Guard, including through the EU’s Operation Sophia, to increase its ability to prevent deaths at sea and dismantle trafficking rings.”
Tech employees vow not to help Trump surveil Muslims, deport immigrants (reuters, Dec 13, 2016)
http://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-trump-surveillance-idUSKBN1422KT
“More than 200 employees of technology companies including Alphabet Inc’s Google, Twitter Inc and Salesforce pledged on Tuesday to not help U.S. President-elect Donald Trump’s administration build a data registry to track people based on their religion or assist in mass deportations.
Drawing comparisons to the Holocaust and the internment of Japanese Americans during World War II, the employees signed an open letter at neveragain.tech rebuking ideas floated by Trump during the campaign trail. The protest, which began with about 60 signatures but had more than tripled within hours of publication, comes a day before several technology company executives are due to meet with the real-estate developer in New York City.
“We are choosing to stand in solidarity with Muslim Americans, immigrants, and all people whose lives and livelihoods are threatened by the incoming administration’s proposed data collection policies,” reads the letter, signed by a mix of engineers, designers and business executives.
It continues: “We refuse to build a database of people based on their Constitutionally-protected religious beliefs. We refuse to facilitate mass deportations of people the government believes to be undesirable.”
The letter vows to not participate in creating databases of identifying information for the U.S. government on the basis of race, religion or national origin, to minimize the collection or retention of data that could facilitate such targeting and to oppose any misuse of data at their respective organizations considered illegal or unethical.
Trump clashed with Silicon Valley on several issues during the campaign, including immigration, government surveillance and encryption, and his victory last month alarmed many companies who feared he might follow through on his pledges…”

‘Activist’ staff IGNORE Sweden’s new asylum policy and PREVENT attempts to deport migrants (express, Dec 13, 2016)

“FURIOUS Swedish migration staff protested against the tightening of immigration laws by granting as many asylum seekers permanent residency in the country as possible, according to reports.
According to Swedish newspaper Svenska Dagbladet, staff at the Migration Board worked overtime to process as many permits as they could before the new policy came into force on July 20.
The stricter controls on who was allowed into the country were agreed in April in order to slow the high number of migrants arriving in Sweden…
Velibor Ljepoja, business expert on asylum issues at the Swedish Migration Board, said: “I think the officers, aware of the consequences of the coming rule changes, were trying to issue as many permanent residence permits as possible.”
A source told Svenska Dagbladet: “I have personally heard from asylum officers how, in July, some devices were pumping out hundreds of permanent residence permits as possible before the new law would come into force.”…”
Schools should teach migrant children in their OWN LANGUAGES, teachers’ association claims (express, Dec 13, 2016)
http://www.express.co.uk/news/world/743089/School-teach-migrant-children-own-language-teacher-association-claims
“SCHOOLS should start teaching immigrant children in their own languages to improve their grades, a teachers’ association has sensationally claimed.
LCH, a Swiss teachers’ association, claimed schools in Switzerland should adopt the approach after the latest Programme for International Student Assessment (Pisa) study showed serious deficiencies in basic education.
The proposal was put forward by LCH spokesman Juerg Bruehlmann as the best way to tackle education shortcomings in children with a migrant background.
The Pisa study discovered that after nine years in the Swiss school system, one in five pupils in Switzerland can barely read and understand a simple text at the age of 15.
It also found that in every class of 19, two or three were unable to write or spell properly.
Defending the record, Swiss teachers claimed that the only reason for the results was because most of those tested were from an immigrant background and were not native speakers.
As a result, LCH said it wanted to see methods to improve education among this group.
Mr Bruehlmann said that instead being taught subjects in the local language, they should be taught in their native languages.
And he said it should not be regarded as an opportunity to ignore their obligation to the local language, but rather as an additional learning tool.
The organisation, which represents the country’s teachers from primary school through to higher education, said it was very disappointed and mistrustful about the latest results and threatened to pull out of cooperating on future studies.
The head of education in St Galler said: “I believe the proposal should be put forward not to take part in the 2018 Pisa study.”
He also said that the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe should review the circumstances and criteria of the tests.
Stefan Wolter, in charge of educational research in the Swiss school system, said: “This is a system failure. We need to put more money into solving this problem, and what we have needs to be organised in a different way.””
If they don’t learn the local languages how are they going to ever fit into the local society. I know the Moslems want us to learn their languages and fit into their society.
MONTREAL – Djemila Benhabib didn’t slander Muslim school in Montreal, court finds
A prominent secular feminist did not slander a Muslim school when she compared it to military training camps in Afghanistan and Pakistan, a judge ruled Tuesday.
Rather, Djemila Benhabib, an author known for her outspoken criticism of Islam, was exercising her freedom of speech on a subject of public interest, Superior Court Justice Carole Hallée wrote.
The Muslim Schools of Montreal was seeking $95,000 in damages and argued Benhabib’s comments greatly tarnished its reputation.
Benhabib’s lawyer, Marc-André Nadon, said the decision recognizes “that the more important the subject matter is of public interest, the greater the court needs to be sensitive to the importance of freedom of expression in a democratic society.”
In a 2012 interview with a Montreal radio station, Benhabib lamented that Qur’anic verses published on the school’s website referred to the need for young girls to stay pure. She also stated they criticized non-Muslims.
She was also critical of the fact the school uniform included the hijab for young girls.
“(The school) resembles the kind of indoctrination similar to what goes on in a military camp in Afghanistan or Pakistan,” she told the radio host.
Benhabib added during the interview the school “models itself on a society different than ours. It’s a model where women have to lower their heads and walk behind men. Where kids are forced to learn Qur’anic verses and where, probably, men will commit honour crimes against their sisters.”
The head of the school’s board of governors, Ahmed Khebir, testified that enrolment dropped after Benhabib’s interview but the judge said the evidence he provided to the court didn’t support that claim.
Hallee said in her decision that Khebir and the other witnesses who testified on behalf of the school could not prove the institution’s reputation was damaged or that Benhabib wanted to cause any harm.
Hallee added Benhabib never used the word “terrorist” in her interview and did not target any individual.
“(Benhabib) criticized a corporate entity as well as a teaching method within the context of subjects that are in the public interest,” the judge wrote.
“The wearing of the veil and memorizing Qur’anic verses in primary school are certainly subjects of public interest that justify freedom of expression,” the judge continued. “These are subjects that are part of an ongoing debate in our society and we must allow everyone to express themselves with as much freedom as possible on these questions.”
Benhabib, an award-winning author, was born in Ukraine to a Muslim-Algerian father and a Greek-Cypriot mother.
She has said she “suffered through an Islamic educational system” and has vowed to fight against what she calls “political Islam.”
Julius Grey, the school’s lawyer and a well-known human rights and constitutional lawyer, said he didn’t want to comment and wouldn’t say whether his client would appeal.

CBC – Djemila Benhabib not guilty of slander, Quebec Superior Court finds
Comments made by a secular feminist about a Montreal private Islamic school ruled to be legal by Quebec judge
A feminist, secular author did not slander a Montreal private Muslim school when she likened it to military training camps, a Quebec Superior court has found.
Author and activist Djemila Benhabib told 98.5 radio host Benoît Dutrizac the Muslim Schools in Montreal “resembles the kind of indoctrination similar to what goes on in a military camp in Afghanistan or Pakistan.”
In the same interview, she also said the school’s religious teachings were a form of indoctrination that conveyed sexist values. She used the example of Quranic verses which made reference to the importance of young women remaining pure.
The school accused her of “greatly tarnishing” its reputation and sued her for $95,000. It was represented by human rights lawyer Julius Grey, who argued that comparing a local school to terrorism was a dangerous tactic.
Shortly before her trial began in September, Benhabib showed little remorse.
“I regret nothing,” she said in a separate radio interview.
In her decision, Justice Carole Hallée noted Benhabib did not say “terrorist” when talking about the military camps, and wrote she did nothing wrong by accepting to do a radio interview on a subject she’s passionate about.
Hallée also found there was no intent to harm the reputation of the school.
“We were very pleased with the decision,” said Benhabib’s lawyer, Marc-André Nadon. “She definitely feels that justice has been served.”

Shurtleff-Swallow fallout » Davis County prosecutor wants to know if feds backed away from allegations surrounding the powerful Nevada senator.
The $2 million cashier’s check was drawn at a St. George bank Nov. 5, 2010.
From there, it was sent by FedEx to a Los Angeles attorney who represented Ireland-based Full Tilt Poker.
Made out to “Mail Media LTD” — a Full Tilt-owned entity used to launder online-gambling funds — the millions then were deposited at Basler Kantonalbank in Switzerland, where Mail Media had an account.
And from there, Davis County Attorney Troy Rawlings is investigating whether it went into a Marshall Islands account in the name of Searchlight Holding Inc. to benefit, or even bribe, Harry Reid, the once-powerful majority leader of the U.S. Senate whom online poker companies had been courting to push a bill to legalize their gaming across the nation.
But documents gathered by The Salt Lake Tribune from state and federal investigations, court filings and public records requests — including audio recordings of interviews and thousands of pages of transcripts, summaries by investigators, emails, requests for evidence and other materials — show that the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the FBI failed to pursue a vigorous investigation of this money and any potential tie to Reid.
Richard: Don’t hold your breath, Donald Trump or his AG may order an investigation but Reid has been dodging arrest warrants all of his political life and he knows all of the tricks both legal and illegal to avoid indictment.
