Mike Pence, the 2016 GOP vice presidential nominee, told Breitbart News that he was “taken aback” at Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Rodham Clinton’s disdain for millions of Americans as evidenced by comments she made at a private fundraiser on Friday night with Barbra Streisand about millions of Donald Trump supporters nationwide.
Pence’s comments came in an exclusive interview with Breitbart News Saturday on SiriusXM Patriot Channel 125 at the Values Voter Summit hosted by the Family Research Council (FRC) at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in downtown Washington, D.C. Pence had just wrapped a speech in which he also ripped Clinton for the remarks on Friday night, where she claimed that half of Trump’s supporters nationally—millions of people—were a “basket of deplorables” who were “irredeemable” and “racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamophobic.”
Pence said that he was “simply taken aback” by Hillary Clinton’s decision to castigate millions of Americans, and was “speechless” about it. He said such comments by anyone, including Clinton, mean that such a person “who has that low an opinion of millions of Americans should never be elected president of the United States,” meaning that this adds to the list of things that already disqualify Clinton from the presidency.
Clinton says ‘Deplorables’ comment is ‘grossly generalistic’
WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. (AP) — Hillary Clinton said Saturday that she was wrong to put half of Donald Trump’s supporters in a “basket of deplorables,” but she didn’t back down from describing his campaign as largely built on prejudice and paranoia. The Republican accused her of a “grotesque attack on American voters.”
Less than 24 hours after she made the comments at a private New York City fundraiser, Clinton said in a statement, “last night I was ‘grossly generalistic’ and that’s never a good idea. I regret saying ‘half’ — that was wrong.” But she argued that the word “deplorable” was reasonable to describe much of Trump’s campaign.
“He has built his campaign largely on prejudice and paranoia and given a national platform to hateful views and voices, including by retweeting fringe bigots with a few dozen followers and spreading their message to 11 million people,” the Democratic nominee said.
Responding in a statement, Trump said it was “disgraceful that Hillary Clinton makes the worst mistake of the political season and instead of owning up to this grotesque attack on American voters, she tries to turn it around with a pathetic rehash of the words and insults used in her failing campaign?”

Hospitals in England are on the brink of collapse, warn NHS chiefs
The body that represents hospitals across England has issued a startling warning that the NHS is close to breaking point because of its escalating cash crisis.
Years of underfunding have left the service facing such “impossible” demands that without urgent extra investment in November’s autumn statement it will have to cut staff, bring in charges or introduce “draconian rationing” of treatment – all options that will provoke public disquiet, it says.
In an unprecedentedly bleak assessment of the NHS’s own health, NHS Providers, which speaks for hospital trust chairs and chief executives, tells ministers that widespread breaches of performance targets, chronic understaffing and huge overspends by hospitals mean that it is heading back to the visible decline it last experienced in the 1990s.
“Taken together this means the NHS is increasingly failing to do the job it wants to do and the public needs it to do, through no fault of its own,” Chris Hopson, the chief executive of NHS Providers, writes in the Observer.

‘Times are changing, pay your taxes’, euro zone chief tells corporations
BRATISLAVA (Reuters) – Multinational companies should refrain from tax-avoidance practices and pay their fair share, the head of euro zone finance ministers said on Saturday in a new endorsement of the European Union’s fight against tax-dodging.
In the wake of the ‘Panama Papers’ revelations of widespread tax-avoidance practices, Brussels has toughened up its drive for fairness by tightening controls and adopting stricter rules.
The recent shock multi-billion euro tax demand on Apple was part of that trend as the EU also drafts plans for a common corporate tax base and a single European blacklist for tax havens.
“My message to those companies is you are fighting the wrong battle. You have to move on. Times are changing,” the head of the eurogroup and Dutch Finance Minister Jeroen Dijsselbloem told reporters on arriving at a meeting of EU finance ministers in Bratislava.
“You need to pay your taxes in a fair way. Part of that would be in the U.S., part of that would be in Europe. So get ready to do that,” Dijsselbloem added.
The Commission, which is in charge of protecting market competition in Europe, is investigating multinationals’ tax arrangements in several EU countries to assess whether, by lowering corporations’ tax bills, illegal state aid may have been given.

Let me first explain the meaning of tax avoidance and tax evasion:
Tax Avoidance – This means finding a legal way to not pay any taxes. The left calls this method using loopholes in the tax laws and considers it evil.
Tax Evasion – This means ignoring the tax laws and not paying your taxes, or not paying all of the taxes the law says you owe.
By saying the corporations should stop avoiding the taxes they are saying that the want to corporations to steal from the stockholders (the ownres of the business) and give the money to the government to spread around in bribes for votes.
This ignores the fact that if the corporation doesn’t pay the stock holders they will sell the stock and move their money to something that will give them a good return on their investment. Those that don’t sell will vote to move all of the manufacturing to another country where the tax and labor rates are lower.
And if the attitude the bureaucrats are showing the investors will find a way to legally transfer their investment money off shore to nations that have lower tax rates. This is called capital flight and is caused by the government forcing the investors to eat the seed corn (lose money on the investments that if it continues long enough takes all of their money).
The dirty little secret that the socialist don’t want people to know is that the major stock holders in almost all nations are the individual retirement funds, especially the union retirement funds. The socialists that claim to be working for the laboring man is in effect stealing from them and their children and grandchildren.
Capatilism – An economic system that uses Capital to create businesses that employ people. The dirty secret here is that all economies used capital, the Capatilist system allows individuals to own the capital and draw the benefits from the investments. The socialist system steals the capital from the people and usually wastes it buying votes to remain in power.
The motivation of all left wing politicians is power, many people think it is money but money is just the tool the politicians use to gain power. They want the power to order us around and force us to live the way they want us to. Some but not all right wing politicians have the same motivation while other right wing politicians simply want to get the government off everyone’s back and let people enjoy the right to make their own decisions.
“Bend over and take it.”
That is what they are saying, at times I think they want a one world government so people can’t move businesses to other locations to avoid high labor costs and high taxes.
On eve of 9/11 anniversary, Al Qaeda threatens more attacks
Days before the 15th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks, terror group Al Qaeda has released a video referring to the day as a “slap” to the U.S. and calling on jihadis to carry out more attacks on U.S. soil.
Al Qaeda’s media wing Al Sahab released the video online featuring the group’s current leader Ayman Al Zawahiri in a 20-minute address to Al Qaeda loyalists along with archived footage of the group’s former leader Osama Bin Laden.
“As long as your crimes continue, the events of 9/11 will be repeated thousands of times, by the will of Allah. And we will follow you – if you don’t cease your aggression [against us] – until the Day of Judgment…, ” he says.
Referring to the events of 9/11 as the “blessed raids,” Zawahiri boasts at both the economic and human toll the attacks had on the U.S. which are still felt by Americans today.
The fourth hijacked plane, United Flight 93, he reminds viewers, was headed towards “the biggest criminals in the White House or the Congress.”

France’s premier warns of new attacks, 15,000 people on police radar
PARIS (Reuters) – French Prime Minister Manuel Valls said on Sunday there would be new attacks in France but proposals by former president Nicolas Sarkozy to boost security was not the right way to deal with threats.
The French capital was put on high alert last week when French officials said they dismantled a “terrorist cell” that planned to attack a Paris railway station under the direction of Islamic State.
“This week at least two attacks were foiled,” Manuel Valls said in an interview with Europe 1 radio and Itele television on Sunday.
Valls said there were 15,000 people on the radar of police and intelligent services who were in the process of being radicalized.
“There will be new attacks, there will be innocent victims… this is also my role to tell this truth to the French people,” Valls said.

Even the building itself—a crumbling brutalist cathedral, windowless at street level and wreathed in security cameras—seems to evoke something of the man, its namesake, who bent the bureau to his will during the terms of eight presidents, from Coolidge to Nixon.
Hoover never so much as crossed the threshold of the office where his latest successor, James Comey, now works. Yet the edifice and the institution remain haunted by Hoover’s legacy of unchecked power, which rendered him judge, jury and executioner of anyone who came into his sights.
The FBI’s history is divided into two distinct epochs: Hoover and post-Hoover. After Hoover’s death in office in 1972, Congress enacted laws designed to curtail the abuses—from illegal wiretaps and “black bag” jobs to campaigns of intimidation and blackmail—that defined his 48-year reign. Of the six directors who have followed, all but one have projected far lower profiles, eschewing the dramatic assertions of power that made Hoover so dangerous. Only James Comey, the seventh and current FBI director, has strayed from this well-worn path.

Fury over NFL’s crackdown on player’s 9/11 tribute cleats
Two police union honchos are so outraged the NFL threatened to sack a Titans linebacker for wearing a patriotic pair of cleats honoring those who died on 9/11, they promised to pay his fine if he wears them in Sunday’s game anyway, The Post has learned.
Avery Williamson, a starting linebacker for the Tennessee team, hoped to wear a pair of specially-designed cleats at his team’s home opener Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings on the 15th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, but he backed off when a league rep vowed to fine him for violating the league’s uniform code.
The left cleat says 9-11-01, with the 11 in the outline of the Twin Towers, while the right one says Never Forget.
“I don’t want to draw negative attention, so I’m just going to focus on playing the game,” Williamson told the Tennessean newspaper, on Friday.
The news outraged Paul Nunziato, head of the Port Authority Police Benevolent Association.
“I’m making a goal line stand on this. Enough is enough! The NFL is out of bounds on this,” he insisted.

US military: Iranian behavior getting worse in Persian Gulf
Iran has stepped up its harassment of U.S. Navy ships in the Persian Gulf, angering the U.S. military and members of Congress.
Since the international nuclear deal with Iran was implemented in early January, the number of incidents involving U.S. and Iranian ships in the Gulf has approximately doubled.

The Navy has counted at least 31 interactions with Iranian naval forces deemed “unsafe,” “unprofessional,” or both, according to a defense official.
That’s about as many such interactions that occurred all of last year, according to statistics provided to Fox News.
And those are also only counting interactions that have met the criteria of “unsafe” or “unprofessional.”
Overall, there were more than 300 interactions between U.S. and Iranian forces last year.
That figure includes incidents in which Iranian vessels waited for and followed U.S. ships transiting in the Persian Gulf, or sailed by with their weapons uncovered, in addition to other incidents of muscle flexing considered routine.
Military officials say there is no question that the behavior is getting worse.

(CBS) – A Chicago man, fed up and frustrated with what he says is the rising crime in his neighborhood, takes matters into his own pocketbook — shelling out thousands to pay for private street security.
CBS 2’s Dana Kozlov reports.
Security firm owner Howard Greer, also a Chicago cop, patrols the 1100 block of North LaSalle. It’s his off-duty job, paid for by this De Mudd.
“I’ve been watching my neighborhood deteriorate over the last couple of years,” Mudd says.
Police, he says, couldn’t keep up. So, Greer and fellow off-duty officers now walk the Gold Coast pocket with guns and handcuffs — six days a week, eight hours a day.
The biggest problems here? Drug dealing, prostitution and loitering.
“It’s like a supplement, supplement to crime fighting, supplement to police department,” Greer explains. “I think it’s very effective.”
It’s not cheap. Mudd says he’s paid $5,000 since mid-August and anticipates spending $50,000.

China, Russia naval drill in South China Sea to begin Monday
BEIJING (Reuters) – China and Russia will hold eight days of naval drills in the South China Sea off southern China’s Guangdong province starting from Monday, China’s navy said.
The exercises come at a time of heightened tension in the contested waters after an arbitration court in The Hague ruled in July that China did not have historic rights to the South China Sea and criticized its environmental destruction there.
China rejected the ruling and refused to participate in the case.
The “Joint Sea-2016” exercise will feature surface ships, submarines, fixed-wing aircraft, ship-borne helicopters and marines, the Chinese navy said in a statement on Sunday on its official microblog.
The two countries will carry out defense, rescue and anti-submarine operations, as well as “island seizing” and other activities, it added.
Marines will participate in live-fire drills, island defense and landing operations in what will be the largest operation ever taken together by the two countries’ navies, the statement said.
China announced that it had called the “routine” naval exercise in July, saying the drills were aimed at strengthening cooperation and not aimed at any other country.
China and Russia are veto-wielding members of the U.N. Security Council, and have held similar views on many major issues such as the crisis in Syria, often putting them at odds with the United States and Western Europe.
Last year, they held joint military drills in the Sea of Japan and the Mediterranean.
China claims most of the South China Sea, through which more than $5 trillion of trade moves annually. Brunei, Malaysia, the Philippines, Taiwan and Vietnam have rival claims.
China has repeatedly blamed the United States for stoking tension in the region through its military patrols, and of taking sides in the dispute.
The United States has sought to assert its right to freedom of navigation in the South China Sea with its patrols and denies taking sides in the territorial disputes.
Russia has been a strong backer of China’s stance on the arbitration case, which was brought by the Philippines.

Israel attacks Syrian post after stray shell crosses border
JERUSALEM/AMMAN (Reuters) – Israeli aircraft attacked a Syrian artillery post on Saturday after a stray shell from fighting in Syria’s civil war landed inside the Israeli-controlled Golan Heights, Israel’s military said.
The shell landed just across the border, causing no injuries, and in retaliation the air force targeted “artillery positions of the Syrian regime”, the military said.
The Israeli military has responded similarly in the past when mortar fire from Syria’s war has landed in the Golan, territory that Israel captured from Syria in a 1967 war.
Syrian state television quoted a Syrian military source as saying the Israeli strike was aimed at helping an offensive by hardline Islamist rebels who had launched an offensive against Syrian troops.
Israel has largely stayed on the sidelines of Syria’s civil war, keeping watch over the Golan Heights frontier and occasionally carrying out air strikes or returning mortar fire if there is a specific threat.

Croats vote in snap election, new coalition cabinet looming
ZAGREB (Reuters) – Croats choose a government on Sunday for the second time in less than a year, with polls predicting a close race and another coalition that lacks a clear mandate to push through painful cuts and restructuring being urged by European authorities.
The first official results are due at around 10 p.m. (2000 GMT) with exit polls to follow the end of voting at 7 p.m..
Surveys suggest a four-party alliance led by the Social Democrats is set to win about 60 of 151 seats in a fragmented parliament, with the conservative Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) a few seats behind.
That is likely to leave both of them seeking support from the center-right Most (Bridge) party, the kingmaker after last November’s elections, which wants to end the 20-year dominance of the big parties it accuses of clientelism and corruption.
“It would be good if this election yielded political stability, but we may encounter a similar situation to last year. Also, unfortunately, I don’t think the biggest parties really want major reforms,” said Goran Uzelac from Zagreb just before he cast his ballot.

Federal civil rights commission says ‘religious liberty’ is code for intolerance, racism

Let’s have a reminder up front. Religious liberty is the ultimate reason there is a United States of America.
Religious liberty is what motivated the original settlers from Europe who had the greatest impact on the formation and character of the nation.
Religious liberty is what ensured a diversity of settlers, and the establishment of a distinctive society in North America, as opposed to a mere colonial presence with higher loyalties to a distant crown.
Religious liberty underlay every precept on which our Constitution‘s Bill of Rights was based. It is the very first liberty enshrined in the Bill of Rights.
Religious liberty is an essential philosophical premise for the American concept of government that is limited, constitutional, and federal — a government with checks and balances, and separation of powers.
And that’s because without religious liberty, there is no other liberty. There has never been a free society that didn’t have religious liberty. There will never be one. If we don’t separate our moral consciences and idea of how we relate to God from the compulsion of the state, we can’t justify separating anything else from it. Until men recognized the need to enforce that separation, the ideas of liberty that we take for granted today didn’t even exist.

NYU cancels lecture by co-discoverer of DNA because his scientific views are offensive

New York University has rescinded a lecture invitation to James Watson, the co-discoverer of the structure of DNA, because of his apparently offensive views.
The lecture, initially scheduled for September 12, was canceled in response to objections that Watson, who essentially led the way forward in microbiology and earned a Nobel Prize for his efforts, suggested in an interview with The Times of London in 2007 that blacks on average have lower IQs than other population groups.
A group of students protested the choice of Watson for the third annual Rodolfo Llinás Lecture Series at the NYU Langone Medical Center. The students, who argued Watson had been offensive to blacks, women and the obese, won out.

Afghan police seize trucks carrying tons of explosives from Pakistan to Kabul
The Afghan Intelligence operatives have seized two trucks with 35700 Kilograms of ammonium nitrate at Torkham crossing that are used in making improvised explosive devices (IED), officials said Sunday.
“The culprits planned the material in cement bags aim to carry them in Kabul for terror activities,” the National Directorate of Security (NDS) said in a statement.
Two people were arrested in connection with the case, who are identified as Nadir Khan and Ali Zar Khan- residents of southern Khost province, the statement added.
However, the Interior Ministry statement suggests seizure of a truck with over 12,300 Kilograms of ammonium nitrate at Torkham crossing, noting in regard one person was arrested.
It comes after Afghan officials have repeatedly accused Pakistan of backing insurgents, a charge that Islamabad denies.
In May this year, more than nine tonnes of explosives were seized at Torkham crossing in Nangarhar province.

The Warwickshire Police force said officers were called early Sunday morning to the Gurdwara Sahib Leamington and Warwick temple in Leamington Spa, a town 100 miles (160 kilometers) northwest of London.
The force said some of the men “are in possession of bladed items,” though it didn’t say of what kind. Some Sikh men wear a ceremonial dagger known as a kirpan.
Several hours after the incident began, police said they had made “a number of arrests” on suspicion of aggravated trespass.
Police said the incident wasn’t related to terrorism, but was “an escalation of an ongoing local dispute.”
A group called Sikh Youth Birmingham said on its Facebook page that a peaceful protest was taking place against an interfaith wedding due to be held at the temple. They said they were upholding the “sanctity” of the Sikh religious wedding ceremony.
Some Sikhs have previously objected to mixed-faith weddings taking place at Sikh temples.
Jatinder Singh Birdi, a former treasurer at the Leamington temple, told the BBC that “there have been tensions that have been going on for a couple of years,” but “nothing has happened on this level before.””

“ARMED police have surrounded a Sikh temple after a 30-strong sword gang stormed the building in Leamington Spa.
Specially trained officers are now inside the temple in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, and are trying to negotiate a peaceful resolution.
One worshipper told local media the gang was a militant Sikh group from Birmingham.
Shocked locals feared an anti-terror operation was under way when they spotted police marksman near the temple and roads were closed and the area sealed off.
Several men have now been arrested on suspicion of aggravated trespass.
A group calling themselves Sikh Youth Birmingham have claimed responsibility for the siege.
A video on the group’s Facebook page appears to show two armed officers confronting them in the temple.
In the 11-second clip, two armed officers can be seen entering a room in the temple.
One of the officers is heard asking the group: “Why are you here?”
Another video shows dozens of men with their faces covered in dark hoods sitting on the floor of the temple while chanting Sikh prayers.
The group wrote: “Inter-faith Anand Karaj Protest. Armed police called to Leamington Gurdwara on 100 peaceful Sikh protestors, who have come to uphold the sanctity of the sacred Anand Karaj.
A spokesman for Warwickshire Police said: “A report was received at 6.47am after a group of between 20 and 30 men entered the temple.
“This is currently being treated as aggravated trespass and at this time we believe that it is an escalation of an ongoing local dispute.
“We believe that some of the men are in possession of bladed items and as such armed officers have been deployed to the scene.
“Officers are inside the temple to negotiate a peaceful resolution.
“We would like to reassure people that this is not being treated as a terrorist incident.”
The spokesman added: “There are also religious leaders in the temple working with officers to negotiate a peaceful resolution.
“There are police cordons in place around the temple and we would ask that people avoid the immediate area while the incident is resolved.”
A police helicopter is also now at the scene.
Reports are suggesting the dispute has been caused by anger surrounding a mixed-race marriage taking place.
Police cordoned off roads around the temple which is on Tachbrook Drive in the town.
The temple, which cost £11million and covers a whopping 4,280 square metres took nine years to build and is one of the largest Sikh temples outside of India.”
Some 55 people have been arrested after dozens of masked men occupied the entrance to a Sikh temple in Leamington Spa in what appeared to be a protest against an interfaith marriage between a Sikh and a Muslim.

Another four are thought to be linked to Fethullah Gulen, the US-based cleric accused by the government of being behind the coup attempt.
“Mayors and town councillors, who come to power through elections, must perform their duties according to the law,” Justice Minister Bekir Bozdag wrote on Twitter.

Switzerland: Activists denounce Italian and Swiss migration policies in border town
Hundreds of pro-refugee activists marched through the border town of Chiasso, Switzerland, on Sunday, to protest against Swiss and Italian migration policies.
The protesters exhibited banners calling for fairer migration policies, while also chanting slogans in several different languages. A high number of police officers were deployed on key points throughout Chiasso, along the route of the march, in order to prevent any escalation of the tension.

Americans Are Not Obligated to Throw Open the Border
From the moment Donald Trump announced his candidacy, he has been called every name in the book for his hardline stance on illegal immigration. Over and over, he’s been called a racist, a xenophobe, and a white nationalist for daring to suggest that maybe – just maybe – it would be in our interests to enforce our immigration laws.
And it’s not just Trump. The liberal media quickly tarred British citizens with the same brush when they voted to leave the European Union, a decision partially based on widespread concerns about rampant, uncontrolled immigration. They have made it clear to one and all: If you want to keep a tight leash on your country’s incoming population, you are a monster.
This is, of course, absolutely asinine.
Americans (and Britons) not only have the right to control immigration, we have a civic duty to do so. As Trump himself has said many times, we either have a country or we don’t. It’s really that simple. We either enforce the laws, or we stop pretending like we have laws. We either believe in our nation’s culture, or we believe that America is just a hunk of land, subject to the whims and tides of time like any other meaningless institution.

‘This country’s TOO POOR’ Shocking scale of migrants snubbing Serbia despite warm welcome
EXCLUSIVE: THOUSANDS of migrants are refusing to remain in countries offering them the chance of a new life – because they are “too poor”.
Shocking figures show safe nations in and around the EU are being battered at the borders, but are ignored as migrants can cross to more desirable nations including Germany, France and the UK.
Syrian refugees have revealed they view many of the nations they must walk through to reach Europe “too poor” to stay in, despite just leaving their war-ravaged homeland.
Hundreds of thousands have travelled from Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan to Turkey, through Greece, Macedonia and Serbia to reach the EU at the Hungary border.
But the majority have no intention of ever staying in any country they pass through.
In Serbia, migrants can “express the intention to seek asylum” upon entering the country.
This gives them 72 hours to report to one of five migration centres whereupon they can begin their application.
However, of the tens of thousands who have entered asylum centres, less than 600 have sought asylum in the nation.
The Serbian government has repeatedly assured asylum seekers they will be looked after in the country, while telling the EU the nation will take its fair share of those fleeing conflict.
According to the Belgrade Centre for Human Rights of 577,995 intentions to seek asylum expressed in 2015, only 583 resulted in submitted applications
As a result of the abuse of the system Serbian Government introduced a special legal status for persons transiting through the country who did not wish to remain.
These people were issued with “certificates for migrants coming from countries where their lives are in danger”.
Thousands have continued to pour over the Macedonian border with Serbia – but after being handed the certificates – only 475 such intentions were expressed in the course of January 2016.
Serbian Prime Minister Aleksander Vucic announced government plans to build a temporary reception centre in Belgrade with the capacity to accommodate up to 3,000 asylum seekers.
He said the Serbian people welcome asylum seekers and his nation would try to help them.
He said: “We can’t close our eyes like others in Europe have.
“Refugees are safe and welcome here. Some will stay, although we know they want to go to more developed countries. If they want to stay, we have no problem – these are good, hard-working people.”
Mr Vucic has called for European member states to take two million genuine asylum-seekers and share them out fairly.
But despite being safe, Serbia is a poor nation compared to its EU neighbours.
And with average wage of €330 per month – the country is not seen as desirable by refugees.
Speaking from migrant camps in Serbia last year, Syrians told Express Online there was “no way” they would apply for asylum in Serbia, despite having to wait months in squalid camps and rely on smugglers to get them over the borders.
Syrian Mohammed Miresh, 60, was waiting in a migrant camp in Serbia to move on to Germany with his wife and son, 17.
He said: “In Turkey we tried hard and my son was working, carrying 50 or 60 kilos of stuff around, for a farm but he was barely getting any money.
“He’s so young. I want him to go to school.
“In Germany he can have a future. There is nothing in Serbia for us.
“Maybe we would have stayed in Turkey but it was no life.
“Germany wants us. Germany has said we can go there.”
Qais Halimi, 23, fled Afghanistan in the hope of reaching Germany.
He insisted he would head to Germany because Serbia was “too poor”.
He said: “Mostly we want to go to Germany because they want us, they accept us.”
Another Afghani man who did not want to be named said they would keep on trying to reach Germany, France or the UK.
He said: “This is a poor country. What can we do?
“Where can we work?
“Of course we will wait here until we find a way to cross.”
Countries most likely to accept asylum seekers and grant a stay in their nation include Malta, Finland, Italy, Czech Republic and Bulgaria.
But in the first quarter of 2016, the latest available figures from Eurostat show huge lows in application number in the countries.
In Czech Republic only 20 Syrians applied for asylum while 105 Iraqis requested a stay.
Two thousand Iraqis applied for asylum in Bulgaria, while 440 Syrians attempted to grant official status.
In Hungary, the gateway to the EU for hundreds of thousands of EU migrants, there were 1,320 applications from Afghanis and 945 applications from Iraqi nationals.
Comparatively, in Germany there were 88,515 applications form Syrians and 25,550 from Iraqis.
There were also 19,750 applications from people fleeing Afghanistan.
Germany’s share of the EU-28 total rose from 31 per cent in 2014 to 35 per cent in 2015.
In France 1,580 Afghanis applied for asylum – yet in July 2016 there were an estimated 7,300 migrants in the Calais jungle waiting to cross to the UK.

When Salman Rushdie’s The Satanic Verses came out in 1989, Viking Penguin, the British and American publisher of the novel, was subjected to daily Islamist harassment. It was the humiliation needed to turn a human being into a terrorist.
Abdel-Samad today is 46 years old and lives in Munich, Germany, where he married a Danish girl and works for the Institute of Jewish History and Culture at the University of Munich. In his native Egyptian village, his first book caused an uproar. Some Muslims wanted to burn it.

Female ‘ISIS terrorist cell wanted to blow up Eiffel Tower’ as mum-of-three charged

An all-female suspected ISIS terror cell wanted to blow up the Eiffel Tower , claims a mum-of-three who was allegedly a member of the French group.
Ornella Gilligman, 29, has become the first member of the ‘cell’ to be charged after a car packed with gas cylinders was found near Notre Dame Cathedral.
She was in a high-security prison in Paris today facing trial for ‘attempted murder and involvement with a criminal gang preparing a terrorist act’.
Meanwhile, three female alleged accomplices were still being questioned – all of whom were ‘determined to cause carnage in Paris’, prosecutors said.
In a chilling revelation, Gilligman reportedly told officers that the Eiffel Tower was the main target of the alleged jihadi cell, which has since been broken up by officials.
Many had feared Notre Dame Cathedral was about to be attacked after the Peugeot 607 was discovered parked close to the ancient place of worship.
But Gilligman, who left her fingerprints in the car, apparently claimed the world-famous tower was, in fact, the group’s preferred target.
The mum attempted ‘to set fire to the car’ near the cathedral but was unsuccessful, so ran away, sources close to the case said.
She allegedly fled to the south of France with a boyfriend.
A burning cigarette butt was later found by officials in the Peugeot, along with six gas canisters, and three canisters full of petrol.
Gilligman and her partner were arrested on Tuesday at a motorway service station near the city of Orange. Both were said to be ‘heading for Spain’.
However, Gilligman’s boyfriend has since been released without charge
Gilligman, who was already on a security watch list after allegedly trying to join the ISIS caliphate in Syria, has since been interrogated at length.
She was formally charged yesterday.
The other women involved in France’s ‘first ever all-female ISIS cell ‘ were Ines Madani, 19, Sarah Hervouet, 23, and Amel Sakaou, 39, prosecutors said.
Madani, whose father owned the Peugeot, was also reportedly on a terror watch list after trying to get to Syria.
The teenager was shot by intelligence officers on Thursday when they found her holed up in a flat in Boussy-Saint-Antoine, south of Paris.
She was allegedly carrying a ‘last testament’ letter pledging her loyalty to ISIS, before she was seriously wounded and rushed to hospital.
The Boussy-Saint-Antoine flat belonged to Amel Sakaou, who was said to be a key member of the Isis cell.
In a bizarre twist, Sarah Hervouet, the third woman arrested at Boussy-Saint-Antoine,
had been engaged to no less than two murderous male ISIS operatives who died in France earlier this summer.
Hervouet had been due to wed Larossi Aballa, 25, who killed a policeman and his partner before being blasted to death in Magnanville, 20 miles west of Paris in June.
After Aballa died, Hervouet was then engaged to Adel Kermich, a 19-year-old who murdered a Catholic priest in Normandy in July, before he too was gunned down.

Prague officials call for police to break up anti-Islamic meeting
Prague City Hall officials called Sunday for police to break up an anti-Islamic meeting outside the Saudi Arabia embassy in Prague. They said the meeting was an abuse of religion and had departed from its original goals. Several dozen participants led by anti-Islam activist Martin Konvi?ka gathered outside the embassy and stoned a portable toilet placed there in a parody of the practice at Mecca and the black stone or Kaaba.
Konvi?ka said his lawyers would be taking action against the city authorities. The meeting coincided with the 15th anniversary of the attack on the World Trade Centre in New York. Konvi?ka had accused Saudi Arabia of being one of the main sponsors of terrorism worldwide. A previous meeting organised by Konvi?ka in Prague’s Old Town Square at the end of August where he and some of his supporters dressed as Islamic State leaders caused controversy as well over whether it should have been banned or allowed to go ahead.

Czech islamophobes tried to denigrate islam using a portable toilet as a muslim shrine, the Prague local authority cancelled the event
The notorious Czech islamophobic group called “The Martin Konvi?ka Initiative” tried to stage an event marking the 15th anniversary of the WTC attacks of 11th September 2001 in Prague today. The event, entitled, “To Mecca with Humour”, was scheduled to take place in front of the Saudi Embassy, but the officials of the Prague local authority cancelled the event in mid-stream.
Czech islamophobes used a portable toilet which was supposed to represent the muslim “Kabu” shrine in Mecca. They were preparing to “stone” it with crushed newsprint balls in order to mock the sacred muslim ritual. As they prepared to do this, officials of the Prague local authority stepped in and ordered the event to be stopped in mid-stream.
“What happened was a gross indecency and this is why the gathering was dissolved,” said Eva Nováková, an official from the local authority. The officials cancelled the event because its participants were denigrating a religion and had deviated from their original programme.
On 21st August, 2016, the Martin Konvi?ka Initiative caused panic at the Old Town Square in Prague when they staged a mock Islamic State invasion there. Several people were hurt in the stampede.

France arrests 15-year-old boy for planning ‘imminent’ Paris attack: sources
A 15-year-old boy has been arrested in Paris suspected of preparing imminent “violent action”, two judicial sources said, the second alleged plot with links to Islamic State discovered in France this week.[…]
The boy had been under house arrest since France declared a state emergency after Nov. 13 attacks in Paris in which Islamic State militants killed 130 people, two sources said on condition of anonymity. They did not say why he was under house arrest.
His arrest on Saturday came as he was planning an attack in a public place in the French capital, one of the sources said.
The second source said the boy had been in contact with suspected French Islamist militant Rashid Kassim and that Kassim also guided one of the women arrested last week in the plot to attack a train station in Paris.
French newspaper Le Monde reported that Kassim is in Syria. He has used Telegram, the messaging service, to call for more attacks in France.

Sweden provided housing and shelter to 114,000 people over the busiest four months of the crisis, and to more than 160,000 over the whole of 2015.
“That’s a burden Sweden as a country has never had to face before. But we did it. It was the municipalities, the Migration Agency, and tens of thousands of volunteers who ensured it got managed.”
He said that Sweden had been forced to introduce temporary border controls in November because it was reaching the limits of its capacity.
“In the end you come to a point where you have to say, ‘We in Sweden have done everything we can. More than anyone else. But not even we can manage to do everything.”
He said that Sweden was still carrying out an inquiry into how the influx could have been managed better.
“There were very few who could have predicted that it would develop as quickly as it did,” he said. “We have started an investigation as there will surely be lessons to be learned from this.””

“School has started for most students around the world.But students attending the controversial Islamic Saudi Academy have had to find an alternative.
The Saudi-funded educational institution, which has academies throughout the world, have been systematically closed.
In Bonn, Germany, it has been announced the school will close by year end. The small school has 30 teachers and about 150 students from Arabic-speaking countries around the world.
“We’ve waited a long time for this to happen,” Ralph Ghadban, a Berlin-based political scientist and Islam expert, who welcomed the end to the Saudi academy in Germany, told DW.
But it doesn’t spell the end to the influx of radical Islamism to Germany, Ghadhan warned. “Some radical Muslims will send their children to certain boarding schools in Britain that are known for their radical interpretation of Islam.”
In Virginia, the school had plans of moving its facilities to a growing Muslim community in western Farifax and nearby Loudoun County. At one time, a conservative Christian group tried to stop the Islamic school from expanding. Now the school has closed voluntarily.
Small, private and committed to an Islamic-based curriculum, the Saudi Islamic Academy which was founded in the 1980s has been accused of having Islamist leanings.
In 2003, the school was investigated for ties to the terrorist network al Qaeda and other fundamentalist Muslim groups.
The academy has also produced some notable terrorists. Ahmed Omar Abu Ali was found guilty in 2005 of joining an al=Qaeda plot to assassinate then-President George W. Bush. Ali was a graduate of the Saudi Islamic academy.
The school’s curriculum was under investigation by the U.S. Congress for having material which was considered intolerant of other religions or which advocated violence in 2007.
Even President Obama’s recent nominee for federal judge, Abid Qureshi, is being criticized for representing the Saudi Islamic Academy in past legal cases. Pakistan-born Qureshi has become America’s first Muslim to be nominated to a federal judgeship.
It is believed that the sudden closure of Saudi Islamic Academy is part of the Saudi governments part of the country’s “Vision 2030” program announced earlier this year. The once cash-rich Arabian nation is making sweeping economic reforms, severely cutting spending and pushing for greater efficiency within the government. The drop in oil revenues has forced the Saudi government to adopt a new “vision” for the future in order to survive.
Henner Fürtig, the director of the Hamburg-based GIGA Institute for Mideast Studies, said the Saudi government is well aware of the controversies surrounding the academy and the accusations of “indoctrination attempts.”

“Rome: Nobel-winning Turkish writer Orhan Pamuk on Sunday lashed the arrest of a leading journalist and warned Turkey was heading towards “a regime of terror.”
“In Turkey, we are progressively putting behind bars all people who take the liberty of voicing even the slightest criticism of the government,” Pamuk said.
The crackdown is being driven by “the most ferocious hatred,” he added.
“Freedom of thought no longer exists. We are distancing ourselves at high speed from a state of law and heading towards a regime of terror,” Pamuk said bluntly.
His front-page opinion piece was published by La Repubblica newspaper a day after the dawn detention of prominent journalist Ahmet Altan and his brother Mehmet Altan, a renowned academic and economist.
Pamuk, who won the Nobel Prize for literature in 2006, was a known critic of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan before the attempted coup against the Turkish strongman in July.
He called for all detained intellectuals to be released “as soon as possible” and to stand trial on the basis of free individuals.
Police arrested the two Altan brothers on Saturday as part of an investigation into the failed July 15 coup, the state-run Anadolu news agency reported.
Ahmet Altan was for years a columnist with top dailies like Hurriyet and Milliyet before in 2007 founding the opposition daily Taraf.
He resigned his post as Taraf editor-in-chief in 2012 and has also written several novels.
Mehmet Altan, an economist by training, is the author of several books on politics in Turkey.
The Hurriyet daily said the Altan brothers were investigated over comments in a talk show on the Can Erzincan TV channel on July 14, on the eve of the coup.
Erzincan is seen by the authorities as being staunchly in favour of US-based preacher Fethullah Gulen, whom they blame for the attempted putsch. The channel has since been shut down.
Other arrests include veteran journalist and writer Nazli Ilicak, who also appeared on the same talk show with the Altan brothers.
The content of the talk show has not been publicised in Turkish media.”

“A former female Muslim police officer has accused London’s Metropolitan police of being more worried about “political correctness” than tackling the extremist views of some Muslim officers because they fear being branded “Islamophobic.”
Speaking to the Sunday Times, Javaria Saeed, who worked for the Metropolitan police’s counterterrorism department, took exception to comments made by a Muslim constable who said that female genital mutilation was a “clean an honorable practice” that “shouldn’t be criminalized.”
The 35-year-old resigned from the capital’s police force in March after she became disillusioned by “political correctness,” which resulted in a culture of “us and them” to emerge among some Muslim officers who believed themselves to be above the law.
“My experiences were that it was Muslim officers being racist towards my individual views; also in private, holding racist views against white officers, and sexist views against females,” she said, speaking to the Sunday Times. “If such views were held and expressed by white officers, they would be fired.”
Saeed was a constable in the SO15 counterterrorism division, which was set up to improve relations with the Muslim community. She also alleged that the same officer said that Muslims who had been victims of domestic violence should not go to the police, but, instead, seek resolution through sharia courts.
No action was taken against the police sergeant when she raised both cases with senior officers. The 35-year-old, who had been part of the Metropolitan police for a decade, told the Sunday Times that she had been called a “bad Muslim” by other Muslim officers for not wearing a hijab and that some colleagues told her she was “better off at home looking after your husband.”
“Racism in the Met is not from white officers, in my case, but from Muslim officers who the service refused to properly investigate because they were afraid of being called Islamophobic and racist,” she added.
“You give management action to minor offences, so it’s pretty outrageous that the Met did not take proper action against him,” Saeed said. “If he was a white officer, he would have been fired.”
The former police officer mentioned that she had been told by other senior members of the force that complaining about Muslim policeman would “hinder” her hopes for promotion in the future.
When she discovered that her superiors were not looking into her concerns, Saeed approached Detective Superintendent Jonathan Wilson, who was the head of the Muslim Contact Unit (MCU) where she worked.
The Metropolitan police said that the constable who made the comments regarding female genital mutilation and domestic violence had been given “management action,” which is seen in the police force as a minor punishment. He has been allowed to stay on the force.”
