    A leaked Army operational security brief appears to show Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton and former CIA Director David Petraeus listed as two key examples of potential insider threats.

    Admins of the Facebook page “U.S. Army W.T.F! moments” told The Daily Caller News Foundation this is the second time they’ve received a picture of this particular slide in the last six months. They posted the slide to their page Sunday.

    Admins said the picture came from a servicemember stationed at Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri.

  8. Evidence points to another Snowden at the NSA

    In the summer of 1972, state-of-the-art campaign spying consisted of amateur burglars, armed with duct tape and microphones, penetrating the headquarters of the Democratic National Committee. Today, amateur burglars have been replaced by cyberspies, who penetrated the DNC armed with computers and sophisticated hacking tools.

    Where the Watergate burglars came away empty-handed and in handcuffs, the modern- day cyber thieves walked away with tens of thousands of sensitive political documents and are still unidentified.

    Now, in the latest twist, hacking tools themselves, likely stolen from the National Security Agency, are on the digital auction block. Once again, the usual suspects start with Russia – though there seems little evidence backing up the accusation.

    In addition, if Russia had stolen the hacking tools, it would be senseless to publicize the theft, let alone put them up for sale. It would be like a safecracker stealing the combination to a bank vault and putting it on Facebook. Once revealed, companies and governments would patch their firewalls, just as the bank would change its combination.

    A more logical explanation could also be insider theft. If that’s the case, it’s one more reason to question the usefulness of an agency that secretly collects private information on millions of Americans but can’t keep its most valuable data from being stolen, or as it appears in this case, being used against us.

    In what appeared more like a Saturday Night Live skit than an act of cybercrime, a group calling itself the Shadow Brokers put up for bid on the Internet what it called a “full state-sponsored toolset” of “cyberweapons.” “!!! Attention government sponsors of cyberwarfare and those who profit from it !!!! How much would you pay for enemies cyberweapons?” said the announcement.

    The group said it was releasing some NSA files for “free” and promised “better” ones to the highest bidder. However, those with loosing bids “Lose Lose,” it said, because they would not receive their money back. And should the total sum of the bids, in bitcoins, reach the equivalent of half a billion dollars, the group would make the whole lot public.

    While the “auction” seemed tongue in cheek, more like hacktivists than Russian high command, the sample documents were almost certainly real. The draft of a top-secret NSA manual for implanting offensive malware, released by Edward Snowden, contains code for a program codenamed SECONDDATE. That same 16-character string of numbers and characters is in the code released by the Shadow Brokers. The details from the manual were first released by The Intercept last Friday.

  10. New law cuts English language requirement for NYC cab drivers

    NEW YORK (Reuters) – The average New York City taxi driver may still be sassy, but will not be required to speak English any longer.

    The change is the result of a new law that Mayor Bill DeBlasio signed in April and went into effect on Friday eliminating the English proficiency exam for taxi and for-hire vehicle drivers.

    It is the latest big change for cab drivers as policymakers and regulators try to adapt the city’s requirements to demographic and technological changes. The legislation created a single license for all taxicab and for-hire vehicles and eliminated the English language proficiency test, according to a New York City Council website.

    The Council described the requirement as “a significant barrier to entry to driving a taxi” in a statement announcing the bill and other related legislation in January.

  11. Iran says Russian use of air base for Syria strikes over ‘for now’

    DUBAI (Reuters) – Russia has stopped using an Iranian air base for strikes in Syria, Iran’s foreign ministry announced on Monday, bringing an abrupt halt to an unprecedented deployment that was criticized both by the White House and some Iranian lawmakers.

    Last week long-range Russian Tupolev-22M3 bombers and Sukhoi-34 fighter bombers used Nojeh air base, near the city of Hamadan, in north-west Iran to launch air strikes against armed groups in Syria.

    It was the first time a foreign power used an Iranian base since World War Two. Russia and Iran are both providing crucial military support to President Bashar al-Assad against rebels and jihadi fighters in Syria’s five-year-old conflict.

    Some Iranian lawmakers called the move a breach of Iran’s constitution which forbids “the establishment of any kind of foreign military base in Iran, even for peaceful purposes”.

    Iranian Defence Minister Hossein Dehghan dismissed that criticism but also chided Moscow for publicizing the move, describing it as showing off and a “betrayal of trust.”

  12. Kurdish militia launches assault to evict Syrian army from key city of Hasaka

    HASAKA, Syria (Reuters) – The Kurdish YPG militia launched a major assault on Monday to seize the last government-controlled parts of the northeastern Syrian city of Hasaka after calling on pro-government militias to surrender, Kurdish forces and residents said.

    They said Kurdish forces began the offensive after midnight to take the southern district of East Nashwa, close to where a security compound is located, near the governor’s office.

    The fighting this week in Hasaka, divided into zones of Kurdish and Syrian government control, marks the most violent confrontation between the Kurdish YPG militia and Damascus in more than five years of civil war. It forms part of a broader battle for control of the long border area abutting Turkey.

    After a morning lull in fighting, fierce clashes broke out again across the city, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said. The powerful YPG militia has captured almost all of east Ghwairan, the only major Arab neighborhood still in government hands.

    The YPG is at the heart of a U.S.-led campaign against the Islamic State militant group in Syria and controls swaths of the north, where Kurdish groups associated with the militia have set up their own government since the Syrian war began in 2011.

    A well-known opposition leader to Russian President Vladimir Putin fell into a week-long coma after ingesting a mysterious poison following a visit to Washington, D.C. in 2015 to lobby against Putin.

    Political murder was a time-honored tradition in the former Soviet Union, and a New York Times investigation reveals it is being used with increasing frequency in Russia under the stewardship of Putin.

    Political murder, even outside Russian borders, was sanctioned by the Russian parliament in 2006. Alexander Litvinenko, a former Russian spy who defected to Britain, died of radiation poisoning in 2006 after Kremlin agents reportedly slipped radioactive material into a cup of his favorite tea.

Gudkov, told The New York Times. “It was not just Litvinenko, but many others we don’t know about, classified as accidents or maybe semi-accidents.

Anna Politkovskaya, who had publicized Russian brutality in Chechnya and attacked Putin as a dictator, likewise. Sergei Magnitsky, the lawyer who blew the whistle on a major corruption scam reaching all the way to the top, died in prison. The Kommersant reporter who had exposed Russia’s secret supplies of arms to Iran and Libya just happened to fall out of a window. Human-rights lawyer Stanislav Markelov was shot in broad daylight, together with the young journalist with whom he was talking, Anastasia Baburova.[…]

    Outspoken former Berlin finance senator Thilo Sarrazin demanded failed asylum seekers be thrown out of Germany “if necessary under military protection”.

    Mr Sarrazin, 71, demanded fundamental changes in the law to get rid of unwanted immigrants.

    He urged the status of migrants should be radically changed and branded the current system “a gateway to uncontrolled immigration”.

    He also said benefits and eligibility to file lawsuits in a bid to stay should only be applicable once migrants have received legal status.

    Mr Sarrazin added: “Before that, he must be legally considered as not having entered.”

    Under the SPD politician’s plan rejected applicants would have “no legal status and therefore no opportunity for action before the German administrative courts”.

    He added: “All illegal immigrants as well as all refugees and asylum seekers, whose stay request was rejected, get deported immediately, categorically and without exception.”

    He suggested immigrants should be deported to the country of origin or the country of last residence, before they entered the EU.

    Mr Sarrazin said: ”Should a country of origin deny the intake of the persons concerned [they] will nevertheless still be brought there categorically, if necessary under military protection.”

    He continued that the “drive to Europe” would only subside “if the remotest African village knows that even a successful arrival in Germany will no longer result in the right to stay, if the conditions for political asylum are not met.”

    Only this way could “selective targeted immigration policies as wanted from the states due to economic or demographic reasons” be achieved.”

    “An American demining firm says a British contractor was killed while defusing an explosive device in the western Iraqi city of Ramadi.

    The firm, Janus Global Operations, announced the death Monday without providing further details. The British Embassy in Baghdad confirmed the incident.

    The demining firm began operations in Ramadi in April, after Iraqi forces liberated the city from the Islamic State group, which left behind thousands of explosive devices.

    Dozens of Iraqi civilians have been killed by explosions while trying to return to their homes in the city, much of which was destroyed in the fighting.”

      Bogdanov was received by Deputy Crown Prince and Defense Minister of Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Salman and met with Foreign Minister Adel Al Jubeir in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) on August 21.

      “The sides focused on a frank and detailed exchange of opinions and ideas about the ongoing military-political and humanitarian situation in Syria, Yemen and Palestinian lands.   22. WaPo-FBI uncovered tens of thousands more documents in Clinton email probe

    The FBI’s year-long investigation of Hillary Clinton’s private email server uncovered tens of thousands more documents from her time as secretary of state that were not previously disclosed by her attorneys. The State Department is expected to discuss when and how it will release the emails Monday morning in federal court.

    The total — confirmed by the Justice Department — was disclosed by a conservative legal group after the State Department said last week that it would hand over the emails. The number to be released is nearly 50 percent more than the 30,000-plus that Clinton’s lawyers deemed work-related and returned to the department in December 2014.

    Lawyers for the State Department and Judicial Watch, the legal group, said in an Aug. 12 court filing that they intended to negotiate a plan for the release, part of a civil public records lawsuit before U.S. District Judge James E. Boasberg of Washington.

    Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton tweeted Monday morning that the “FBI found almost 15,000 new Clinton documents. When will State release them?” In an interview, he said: “It looks like the State Department is trying to slow-roll the release of the records. They’ve had them for at least a month, and we still don’t know when we’re going to get them.”

    According to Fitton, lawyers for the government said they plan to set a rolling release schedule in October, weeks before November’s general election.

    A Justice Department spokeswoman declined to comment on pending litigation. A State Department spokesman did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

    Judicial Watch filed the lawsuit in May 2015 after disclosures that Clinton had exclusively used a personal email server while secretary from 2009 to 2013. Judicial Watch had sought all emails sent or received by Clinton at the State Department in a request made under the federal Freedom of Information Act, which covers the release of public records.

    Monday’s hearing comes seven weeks after the Justice Department on July 7 closed a criminal investigation without charges into the handling of classified material in Clinton’s email setup, which FBI Director James B. Comey called “extremely careless.”

    The FBI on Aug. 5 completed transferring all of what Comey said were several thousand previously undisclosed work-related Clinton emails that the FBI found in its investigation for the State Department to review and make public. Government lawyers until now have given no details about how many emails the FBI found or when the full set would be released. It is unclear how many of the 15,000 or so documents might be attachments, duplicates or exempt from release for legal reasons.

    Government lawyers disclosed last week that the FBI turned over six computer discs of information: one including emails and attachments that were sent directly to or from Clinton, or to or from her at some point in an email chain, and not previously turned over by her lawyers; a second with classified documents; another with emails returned by Clinton; and three containing materials from other individuals retrieved by the FBI.

    The roughly 15,000 documents at issue now come from the first disc, Fitton said.

    In announcing the FBI’s findings July 5, Comey said investigators found no evidence that the emails it found “were intentionally deleted in an effort to conceal them.” Like many users, Clinton periodically deleted emails or they were purged when devices were changed.

    Clinton’s lawyers also may have deleted some of the emails as “personal,” Comey said, noting their review relied on header information and search terms, not a line-by-line reading as the FBI conducted.

    Thailand bombing investigations point to southern pro-independence provinces

    Thai police have said at least 20 people were involved in the deadly bombings which hit the country in early August. Authorities believe many of those responsible came from the Muslim-majority southern provinces.

    The reason for the detention was a video in which 17-year-old son of the Imam walks the streets of the city, prays in Arabic and calls on Allah to kill Christians. The video was posted online in the summer when the investigation began the proceedings, the Alami family was on vacation in Morocco.

    The Belgian police detained the Imam of a radical Sheikh Alami, together with his family — wife and son. It is reported by radio station RTBF.

    The special operation took place in Verviers. The reason for the detention was a video in which 17-year-old son of the Imam walks the streets of the city, prays in Arabic and calls on Allah to kill Christians. The video was posted online in the summer when the investigation began the proceedings, the Alami family was on vacation in Morocco. He said that he was going to report to the police with her son voluntarily, as soon as I return to Belgium.

    The son of the Imam will appear before the juvenile court — at the time of recording of the video he was 18 years old. He is charged with inciting hatred and enmity against a group of persons.

    Alami, a citizen of the Netherlands and Morocco, known for its radical views. He was ordered to leave the territory of Belgium, but the decision was appealed and therefore not implemented.

    A woman stabbed and wounded three people on a bus in Brussels on Monday and was then shot and wounded by police, local media said.

    The Belgian capital has been on high alert since local Islamic State militants carried out the attacks in Paris last November and suicide bombings in Brussels itself in March.

    BUS RAMPAGE Brussels bus stabbing leaves two injured after knife attack in Belgian city

    Horrific incident not believed to be linked to terrorism

    THREE people have been injured after a woman with a knife attacked passengers on a bus just outside the Belgian capital of Brussels, officials say.

    It reportedly happened after an argument.

    The incident took place at about 4.30pm local time on Monday when the woman got into a row with passengers on an MIVB bus in Ukkel which is located just outside the capital.

    Two people on the bus were injured, and a third was hurt after the woman fled from the bus, reports BNO News.

    The severity of the injuries is not yet known but none of those attacked are believed to be in a serious condition.

    Cops are understood to have fired at the female suspect – wounding her, but not seriously.

    Belgian news channel VTM said the woman appeared to have had mental problems and the attack does not appear to be related to terrorism.

    Officials have not yet provided any information about the attacker’s possible motive.

    Ahmad al-Faqi al-Mahdi is the first man to go on trial at the International Criminal Court for destroying part of the world’s cultural heritage.

    The first man to go on trial for the destruction of some of the world’s cultural heritage appeared in court at The Hague on August 22 as reported by the BBC. Ahmad al-Faqi al-Mahdi was expected to plead guilty to helping to destroy nine shrines and a mosque while a member of the Islamist group Ansar al Dine.

    Ansar al Dine occupied Timbuktu in Mali for several months. The destruction he is accused of took place in 2012. The group was driven out of Timbuktu by French forces in 2013.

    The trial marks a triple first: He is the first person to go on trial for the destruction of cultural heritage rather than for participation in massacres. He is also the first Islamist extremist to go on trial at the ICC. If he pleads guilty as expected, he will be the first person to so do.

    The trial shows that the international community recognizes the extreme damage done to a country and to civilization as a whole by the destruction of ancient cultural treasures. By destroying the relics of humanity’s past, extremist groups rob states of a link to their own culture and degrade their future. It is a crime not just against those who are living, but against those not yet born.

    The recent Soros leaks showed how the left’s grass roots organizations are dictated to by radical billionaires like him. And they also show that Soros‘people were well aware of the need to distance themselves from the organizations that they were funding. And it is all about the funding.

    Behind the bullhorns and race riots is something different. It’s not outrage. It’s big money.

    In a splashy item, the Ford Foundation announced that it had helped found the Black-Led Movement Fund. The Black-Led Movement Fund wants to raise $100 million on top of another $33 million from Soros and assorted left-wing groups.

    In the French suburb of Aubervilliers, in the department of Seine-Saint-Denis, a group of Chinese immigrants recently held a rally to protest the latest killing of one of their own:

    At least 500 people gathered outside the mayor’s office to remember Zhang Chaolin and protest at violence they say is being directed at them.

    Mr Zhang, a textile designer, 49, died on Friday after five days in a coma.

    The father-of-two had been attacked by three men while walking with a friend, a police source said.

    According to the source, Mr Zhang was kicked in the sternum and fell, striking his head on the pavement. The attackers were allegedly trying to steal his friend’s bag.

    The Mayor of Aubervilliers, Meriem Derkaoui i[of the Communist Party], condemned the killing as a murder “with a racist targeting”. Community representatives quoted by local newspaper Le Parisien (in French) say ethnic Chinese people are falling victim to muggings on a daily basis.

    One Chinese group has recorded 100 cases in Aubervilliers alone since November, the paper says.

    Prize-Winning Novelist Arrested by Turkish Court

    Asli Erdogan, a prize-winning Turkish novelist was arrested on suspicion of ties to Kurdish militants. Erdogan was detained alone with more than two dozen staff members of the Kurdish newspaper Ozgur Gundem. Turkish special forces stormed the newspaper’s offices as part of a widespread purge under way by Turkey’s Islamist government after a failed coup attempt July 15.

    Erdogan is a member of the newspaper’s advisory board and is held on charges of “membership of terrorist organization” and “undermining national unity.”

    Police Reportedly Threaten Journalist With Rape

    Gulfem Karatas, a reporter from the Turkish outlet IMC TV, who was taken into police custody in a raid to the Kurdish paper Ozgur Gundem on August 16, said she was battered and threatened with rape by police while in detention. “They called us ‘traitors, prostitutes, Armenian sperms, Jewish sperms’,” said Karatas, who received a doctor’s report confirming the battering.

    Erdogan’s Key Adviser Calls German MP ‘Whore’

    Oktay Saral, a prominent consultant of Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan, targeted Cem Ozdemir, a German MP of Turkish origin, on his Twitter account, writing: “Crypto (hidden Christian) parasite at the Bellevue Palace. You have a leash around your neck. German prostitute; hey you, ignoble whore! We will deal with you!”

    Ozdemir initiated a resolution in the German parliament to formally classify the 1915 Armenian massacre perpetrated by the Ottoman government (present-day Turkey) as genocide. The resolution passed June 2, 2016.

    Saral also posted Ozdemir’s photo along with called Selahattin Demirtas, who he also called a whore. Demirtas is the co-head of the pro-Kurdish People’s Democratic Party (HDP).

    Billboard in Istanbul Airport Warns Travelers That Sweden Is Rape Capital

(won’t work the control freaks will gravitate to the leadership positions and seize power for themselves like they did in the Soviet Union, Red China, Nam, North Korea, Cuba and Venezuela.

          Lenin seemed to talk a variaty of international socialism but governed as a semi national socialist but he did try to export his brand of socialism that conquered neighboring nations.

          Stalin was as I said more brutal and was closer to Hitler in brutality but he was opposed to private property and was interested in personal power. The latter was partially fueled by his desire to hide the fact that for most of his pre-revolution history he was a spy for the Czars secret police.

    “Turkey is withdrawing its ambassador to Austria, the Turkish foreign minister said Monday, amid a growing diplomatic spat.

    Mevlut Cavusoglu said Ambassador Hasan Gogus was called back to Ankara for “consultations and to review ties,” citing Austrian authorities’ decision to allow alleged supporters of Turkey’s Kurdish rebels to hold a demonstration in Vienna over the weekend as well as rising anti-Turkish rhetoric in Austria.

    Ties between Turkey and Austria have been tense for several weeks, with a top Austrian official saying Turkey was heading toward a dictatorship and other leaders calling for an end to Turkey’s European Union membership talks.

    Turkey, in turn, has described Austria as the “capital of radical racism.”

    “We saw that … the PKK and its supporters were given permission to stage a demonstration in Vienna,” Cavusoglu said. “This does not comply with honesty or sincerity. We couldn’t stay inactive against this attitude which supports terrorism.” He was referring to the Kurdistan Workers’ Party, which Turkey and its allies consider a terror organization.

    Fighting between the PKK and Turkey’s security forces resumed last year after a fragile peace process collapsed. The group has stepped up attacks targeting police and military in Turkey and at least a dozen people were killed in a string of bombings last week.

    Cavusoglu said Austria’s top diplomat in Ankara was also called to the ministry over the demonstration in Vienna.

    There was no immediate response from Austrian officials.

    “Unfortunately, the ground for our bilateral relations and cooperation to continue as normal has disappeared,” Cavusoglu said.”

    People throughout the world are becoming increasingly uncomfortable with immigration levels which are higher than any time since the Second World War, according to a new survey published Monday.

    At least six out of 10 people in France and Belgium, which have recently suffered deadly jihadist attacks, believe immigration has had a “negative impact”, said the Ipsos polling institute.

    Similar figures were found in Russia, Hungary and also Italy, which has had to deal with large numbers of migrants fleeing the Middle East or Africa and seeking to forge new lives in Europe.

    In all, 49 percent of those surveyed in 22 countries said there were “too many immigrants” and 46 percent felt “immigration is causing their country to change in ways they don’t like,” Ipsos said in a statement.

    The Japanese were least likely to say there are too many immigrants in their country (only 12 percent), and the Brazilians least likely to voice discomfort at how immigration is changing their country (23 percent), according to the study.

    The surveyors also pointed to a rise in the number of British people who think that immigration has been good for the country, standing at 35 percent, sharply up on the 19 percent recorded in 2011.

    And while almost half of the British surveyed felt there were too many immigrants in the country, this level was down from 71 percent five years ago.

    “Britain has in fact become more positive about many aspects of immigration. This might seem surprising given that the desire to reduce immigration was undoubtedly a key reason for the Brexit vote,” Ipsos spokesman Bobby Duffy said.

    Duffy added however that the referendum decision to leave the EU “has polarised opinion”.

    Yves Bardon, an Ipsos director in France, said that the media bombardment of images of migrants and refugees arriving on Europe’s shores “have heightened the fear of uncontrollable migration throughout most of Europe, with the key issue being their ability to integrate”.

    Six out of 10 people questioned for the survey said they were concerned about terrorists pretending to be refugees, and four in 10 want to close their nation’s borders entirely.

    The study was carried out in Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, France, Britain, Germany, Hungary, India, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Poland, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, South Korea Spain, Sweden, Turkey and the United States from June 24-July 8, with a total of 16,040 people questioned.”

    “A student in the German town of Osnabrück won’t be allowed to wear her veil to class. The decision comes at a time of heated discussion concerning a nation-wide burqa ban in Germany.

    The student, who insisted on wearing her niqab to school, has been denied by a local administrative court. The Sophie Scholl night school in Osnabrück in the northern German state of Lower Saxony had originally accepted the student but reversed its decision when it became clear how she wanted to dress in class.

    On Friday, the student had appealed to the Osnabrück Administrative Court. The case was heard just three days later on Monday. Things moved fast because, as a court spokesperson said, “every school day counts.”

    The court had ordered the woman to appear in person at the hearing on Monday to defend her reasons. When she didn’t do that because of the media attention the case attracted, the court said its only possible action was to deny her claim…”

    “Nearly 20 cars have been torched in Copenhagen over two consecutive nights, leading police to worry that a spate of car fires in Sweden has now spread to Denmark.

    Police said that more than ten cars were torched in Copenhagen in the early hours of Sunday while at least seven were burnt early on Monday morning.

    The early Sunday car fires were mostly in the inner city and the Amager and Christianshavn areas, while seven cars were burned on the same street in Christianshavn on Monday morning and at least one additional vehicle was torched in Valby.

    The weekend fires come after at least 70 cars have been burned out in the southern Swedish city of Malmö since July. There have also been car fires in other cities across Sweden, including Stockholm, Gothenburg and Norrköping.

    Copenhagen Police said a connection to the Swedish fires has not yet been clearly established…”

    “The amount of criminal charges for sexual attacks in Austria is set to double compared to figures from previous years.

    So far, 886 criminal charges until the end of July have been counted by prosecutors, while last year saw 1,097 cases over the whole year.

    Also the amount of prosecutions in which people were charged is set to reach record highs. Last year saw a number of 246 prosecutions in Austria, while this year already up to the end of May 242 indictments were counted.

    Austrian newspapers reported that the increase in sexual offenses can mostly be attributed to an increase in public awareness after the New Year’s sex attacks in Cologne.

    Also Austria has seen a number of high-profile sex attacks, with many of them attributed to migrants, among which was a girl who was gang-raped by nine Iraqi migrants.

    President of the court of the Favoriten district in Vienna Robert Schrott stated that an increase in criminal charges has inevitably led to more work for the courts.

    He said: “There has been much reported about sex attacks, an increase in criminal charges goes hand-in-hand with that.”

    It is unclear if a new sexual harassment law that came into effect on the first of January and broadened the sexual sphere and further offered extra protection to women could be attributed to the rise as well…”

    “A survey of Austrians has revealed the vast majority are in support of refugees automatically losing their right to asylum if they break the law, an idea recently proposed by a government minister.

    Austria’s Interior Minister Wolfgang Sobotka told Österreich newspaper that he wants those who have broken the law to automatically lose their right to asylum in the country.

    “The question is whether someone who is a lawbreaker automatically loses their asylum status with the legal sentencing. For me, that would be a conceivable measure to consider,” he said.

    Sobotka proposed this could apply to both people awaiting an answer to their asylum application as well as those who have already received refugee status.

    Now a survey of Austrians carried out by researchers GfK suggests that 79% are “very” in agreement that refugees “who have offended to be quickly removed from the country.”

    A further 14% are “probably” in agreement, bringing the total of people who are comfortable with the idea to 93%.

    The Green’s spokesperson for refugee and migration issues Alev Korun has said she is sceptical of the suggestion by Sobotka, arguing that 25 years of tightening of asylum laws has not solved a single problem.

    “It is neither sensible nor helpful to continue doing something that has not worked in the past,” she said in a statement.

    Sobotka’s announcement over the weekend follows comments he made last week pushing for tougher laws for people who come illegally to Austria to settle as economic migrants.

    “(…) those who travel to us illegally for economic reasons, I would like them to see legal consequences. That requires a significant strengthening of the law,” he said.”

    “We should be past tolerance in Canada,” Trudeau told reporters after meeting with his ministers to plan the government’s legislative agenda.

    Some lawmakers in Canada’s Quebec province have called for outlawing “burkinis” — body-concealing Islamic swimsuits — following bans in at least 15 towns in France’s southeast.

    They include the French Riviera resort town of Nice, the target of a jihadist attack on July 14, with the proponents citing the need to prevent public disorder.

    Trudeau called for “the respect of individual rights and choices.”

    This, he said, should be “at the top of public discourse and debate.”

    Trudeau dismissed the idea of a burkini ban in Canada, saying Canadians should rise above the controversy.

    “In Canada, can we speak of acceptance, openness, friendship, understanding? It is about where we are going and what we are going through every day in our diverse and rich communities,” he said.

Terrorists and extremists have been able to spread their poison in prison because staff are too frightened of breaching human rights or being branded racists to intervene, the study for the Ministry of Justice reveals. Author Ian Acheson, a former prison governor, says Britain has fallen behind countries such as the Netherlands, Spain and France in dealing with radicalisation in jail – with ordinary Muslims facing ‘aggressive encouragement’ to become jihadis.

It is imperative prisons do not serve as a breeding ground for more Islamic extremism. Too many of our public institutions have fallen under the spell of political correctness … the public will be shocked that extremist elements are able to exploit traditional British tolerance … to promote violent extremism.’ Justice Secretary Elizabeth Truss will today announce measures designed to toughen the approach to extremism in jail.

    Islamist fanatics will be given their own security category, with the worst offenders locked up in so-called ‘jihadi wings’.
