“The U.S. military says it has recovered and used “massive amounts” of intelligence materials from retreating ISIS militants in the city of Manbij, Syria, a town the Pentagon describes as one of the terror groups last connecting points to it’s stronghold of Raqqa.

  2. Turkey coup attempt: Dozens of media outlets shut (BBC, July 27, 2016)

“The Turkish authorities have announced the closure of dozens of media organisations, as a crackdown continues following the failed coup on 15 July.

Three news agencies, 16 TV channels, 45 papers and 15 magazines will be shut.

Separately, nearly 1,700 members of the armed forces – including 149 generals and admirals – have been discharged.

The government says US-based cleric Fethullah Gulen was behind the army-led attempted coup – a claim he denies. At least 246 people died during the coup.

More than 2,000 people were injured.

The closure of the media outlets and the dismissal of the members of the armed forces were announced in Turkey’s official Resmi Gazete.

The names of the media organisations have not yet been officially released, but local media suggest that while most are relatively small, provincial outlets, several dailies and agencies with a national audience have also been targeted.

Among those discharged from the armed forces are 87 army generals, 30 air force generals and 32 admirals.

Earlier on Wednesday, the authorities ordered the detention of another 47 journalists – just several days after similar warrants were issued for 42 reporters.

Those on the new list were mostly members of the now defunct Zaman newspaper, Turkish officials were quoted as saying by local media…”

  5. Migrants are ‘poison’ and a ‘terror risk’, Claims Hungarian Prime Minister (moroccoworldnews, July 27, 2016)

“Hungary’s prime minister, Viktor Orban, commends Donald Trump’s foreign policy ideas and portrays anti-immigrant beliefs.

Viktor Orban, Hungary’s right-wing prime minister, has controversially labelled asylum seekers arriving in Europe as “a poison” and that “Hungary does not need a single migrant.”

Following the Isis attack carried out in Normandy where hostages were held and a priest was killed – the latest terror crisis to have occurred within Europe this summer – Orban heightened fears over Middle Eastern and African refugees as well as saluting Trump’s plans for the US foreign policy.

“Hungary does not need a single migrant for the economy to work, or the population to sustain itself, or for the country to have a future,” Orban told joint press conference in Budapest with Austrian chancellor Christian Kern.

“This is why there is no need for a common European migration policy: whoever needs migrants can take them, but don’t force them on us, we don’t need them.”

He added “For us migration is not a solution but a problem … not medicine but a poison, we don’t need it and won’t swallow it.”…”

  6. Muslim Leaders At The Democratic National Convention Urge The Community To Get Involved Politically (moroccoworldnews, July 27, 2016)

“At the Democratic National Convention, Muslim leaders urged the community to vote, insisting that it’s a powerful mechanism to challenge and even combat the rise of hate speech and Islamophobia right now in America.

“We can defeat hate. Islamophobia is not a Muslim issue; it’s an American issue,” said Nihad Awad, the executive director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations. “Hate crimes are on the rise. The biggest victim of Islamophobia is America and its future prospect,” Awad said at the convention.

Muslim leaders at the Democratic National Convention insisted that getting involved with politics and economy is more important now that ever, adding that the United States has never had a presidential candidate who has targeted the community so largely. “We never had a leader of a major party openly calling for religious hate against a particular community,” said Congressman Keith Ellison of Minnesota, a Muslim Democratic Party affiliate.

Ellison’s comment comes after Donald Trump’s proposition to ban Muslims from entering the United States, a tactic he sees fit in combating the rise of radicalized terrorism, which has caused conflict between Americans who agree with the ban and those who don’t agree.

But Donald Trump isn’t the only one who believes in this solution.

According to Al Jazeera, “former House Speaker Newt Gingrich said in an interview, people from a Muslim background should be tested to see if they believe in Sharia law, and be deported if they do.” His comment came after the recent attacks in Nice, France at Bastille Day, that left more than 80 dead and more than 300 injured, after a radicalized terrorist drove a truck into crowds of people.

And it isn’t only Americans who support this ban.

Sonia Kruger, who hosts “Today Extra,” said in a live broadcast that she would support a ban on Muslims in her home country of Australia, because it’s “important.” Her Donald Trump approach came after the attacks in Nice, and she added, “Especially as a mother, I want to feel safe, as all of our citizens do when they go out to celebrate Australia Day, and I’d like to see freedom of speech.”

Others in the spotlight who support this ban include, Mike Tyson, Dutch leader, Geert Wilders, French leader, Marine Le Pen, Obama’s half-brother, Malik Obama, and even a Texas imam.

Muslims only make up one percent of the national vote, according to Voice of America. But some say, in states where Muslims make up a larger percentage of the population like Michigan, Virginia, Minnesota, and California, their vote is crucial.

Omar Ahmadzai, and artist in Virginia told Voice of America, “If we want to be heard or even feel the need to better our lives in the U.S., then our only option is to be involved in politics.”

    • Translation: Some Blacks, Hispanics and Saunders supporters are refusing to obey orders to vote for Hillary, if we want to keep the Federal Government covering for our take over we have to get out and vote for Hillary.

  7. Fragmented EU ‘vulnerable to terror’ says Avramopoulos (ansamed, July 27, 2016)

“Counterterrorism efforts will be effective only if there is greater cooperation at the European level, Commissioner for Migration, Home Affairs and Citizenship Dimitris Avramopoulos told ANSA on Wednesday. ”We have made considerable and constant progress in advancing the European agenda on security, which was launched last year. We must go beyond:

fragmentation is what makes us vulnerable and the truth is that European efforts against terrorism will never be truly effective unless Member States are prepared to cooperate with each other,” he said in an interview with ANSA. ”They are trying to destabilize our societies and create a climate of fear. We cannot give up.

Faced with the worst possibilities, we must remain faithful to ourselves because we are democratic, plural, open and tolerant societies. And this resilience, this humanity, makes us 20 times stronger than the Islamic State (ISIS) will ever be,” Avramopoulos said. The commissioner reiterated the EU position concerning the welcoming of refugees after the latest attacks in France and Germany.

”The gates of Europe are open to those fleeing war and persecution and seeking asylum. But we will defend ourselves against attacks on our lifestyles,” he said.”

In a separate case, a 51-year-old Moroccan imam, Mohammed Madad, has been expelled from Italy on an interior ministry order on security grounds, ANSA sources said Wednesday. It is suspected that he facilitated international terrorism, the sources said.

  10. How a Pakistani doctor nearly lost his life after treating a Christian (tribune, July 27, 2016)

“A Pakistani doctor, currently seeking political asylum in the US, claims he received death threats and was discriminated against at work after he saved a Christian man’s life using medicine donated through Zakat.

The doctor, writing anonymously, shares his story in a startling blog in The Guardian. As a young medical graduate fresh out of university, he was working an ER shift one night when a patient came who needed urgent dialysis. “Unattended and disheveled as he was, there was no one with him to get him the medicine he needed. Fearing he might die, I instinctively grabbed the emergency medicine donated via Zakat, an Islamic system of alms-giving, and performed the life-saving hemodialysis,” he writes.

The doctor was able to save the patient’s life but his own soon became imperiled. “He survived but I immediately faced the wrath of the nurse. She was mad at me because the patient was a Christian and she said Islamic alms are not meant to be used on non-Muslims. But I did not know the patient’s faith, nor did I know that such a law existed.”

Although he promptly replaced the medicine that cost $20, his ordeal had only just begun. “The representative of a conservative Islamic NGO, which was a donor to the clinic, was furious about what I had done. They attributed my lack of knowledge about the alms laws to the fact that I belong to a minority Muslim sect.”…”
