Congress hears testimony on ISIS, a French mayor wants to ban islam and more: Links 1 on May 16 – 2015

1. ISIS and Religious Minorities

(This is a long set of hearings in the US on Islamic State treatment of minorities. I have not seen it all yet, but the story of the Iraqi nun, Diana Momeka, at around 13 minutes is interesting. As I understand it, the Obama admin withheld her visa to enter the US in what appears to be an attempt to prevent her from speaking. More on this as I get it. Here is an article on Sister Diana)

Witnesses testified on ISIS* attacks on religious and ethnic minorities in Iraq and Syria, as well the looting of cultural and religious sites.?The hearing focused on humanitarian and security needs, and pending congressional legislation to help those displaced from their homes by the militant group.

* The Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), also known as the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), is a militant group that has called itself the Islamic State.

2. Indonesia army urged to stop virginity tests for recruits

(Indonesia has an army of virgins. I can see why that might make them better fighters)

Human Rights Watch (HRW) said the hymen examinations were “harmful and humiliating’. Another group said they may amount to torture.

The Indonesian military has defended the tests, saying they stop immoral women from entering the armed forces.

Indonesia’s police faced criticism last year for requiring the examinations.

As well as HRW, the International Rehabilitation Council for Torture Victims (IRCT) also spoke out about the practice ahead of a conference on military medicine in Bali, Indonesia.

3. A couple of nights ago in Ottawa, David Harris of INSIGNIS Strategic Research gave a talk about immigration and changing Canadian values, especially as it concerns the Jewish population. This is also a feature length video. (Thanks to Victor Laszlo for filming)

4. Sam Harris, one of my favorite thinkers and an early starter on speaking out about the obvious and clear facts of islam, attempted to penetrate the method of thought of Leftist demigod, Noam Chomsky. In this short audio clip he explains why it was closer to a car wreck than a conversation.

Sam was the person who turned the brilliant phrase, “The problem with islamic fundamentalism are the fundamentals of islam”

5. Greek Parliament Allows Athens Mosque

(This article is a Crystal clear example of how the left everywhere seeks to use islam to destroy classical civilization and national or ethnic identity of any kind)

The disagreement marks the first rift to occur in the coalition between SYRIZA and ANEL since the two parties united to form the country’s new government after Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras was elected in January.

However, the amendment passed parliament with the support of opposition parties, the New Democracy and the Panhellenic Socialist Movement (PASOK).

ANEL and neo-Nazi party Golden Dawn have consistently opposed the building of the mosque in the Athens district of Votanikos, with ANEL lawmaker Stavroula Xoulidou calling the project “unacceptable and provocative.”

6. Czechs stopped potential nuclear tech purchase by Iran: sources (reuters, May 14, 2015)

(Hard to believe the IRI would cheat or be deceptive or hostile)

The Czech Republic blocked an attempted purchase by Iran this year of a large shipment of sensitive technology useable for nuclear enrichment after false documentation raised suspicions, U.N. experts and Western sources said.

The incident could add to Western concerns about whether Tehran can be trusted to adhere to a nuclear deal being negotiated with world powers under which it would curb sensitive nuclear work in exchange for sanctions relief. […] The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the total value of the contract would have been about 1.5 billion Czech koruna ($61 million). […]

While compressors have non-nuclear applications in the oil and gas industry, they also have nuclear uses, including in centrifuge cascades. Centrifuges purify uranium gas fed into them for use as fuel in nuclear reactors or weapons, if purified to levels of around 90 percent of the fissile isotope uranium-235.

“Such compressors can be used to extract enriched uranium directly from the cascades,” Olli Heinonen, former deputy director-general of the International Atomic Energy Agency and a nuclear expert currently at Harvard University, told Reuters.

“In particular, they are useful when working with higher enrichment such as 20 percent enriched uranium,” he said, adding that precise specifications of the compressors in question would be necessary to make a definitive assessment.

(Perhaps one of our readers might offer to tell us all how enriched uranium needs to be for a nuclear power reactor? 90% is only for weapons)

7. Islamic State crisis: Militants seize Ramadi stronghold

The militants are controlling large areas of Ramadi and have asserted their control of half of Anbar, the BBC’s Ahmed Maher reports from Baghdad.

8. In this article about a spree of bombings in Thailand, muslim terrorists are called, ‘separatist insurgents’ although it seems they want to take territory from Thailand and annex it to neighboring islamic states. Which would make them enemy soldiers in a rational lexicon.

9. Mayor (UMP) Of Venelles Proposes Changing The Constitution To Prohibit Islam In France

(Looking to get a translation on this one)

10. YEMEN – Ansar al-Shariah in the Arabian Peninsula: “Storming the Military Barracks of the Houthis Army in Ayuwah: The Raid of Abu Zayd al-Sharuri

11. Germany: 80% of Turkish Muslims claim welfare payments

(Good for the economy if creating an army of bureaucrats who administer social services are listed as being good for the economy. Much like saying that termites and the conditions that brought them in are good for your house)

Turks came to Germany as ‘guest workers’. They were supposed to provide some “necessary cheap labor” and then leave. But it didn’t work out that way.

And the topic has obvious implications for our own Gang of 8?s guest worker plan, which is going to lead to non-workers bankrupting the social welfare system even further.

Three million Turks live already in Germany already, while 2.5 million of them have German nationality, and the majority of them are conservative Muslims.

Very few Turks in Germany have a regular job; about 20%. The other 80% live on the so-called Hartz IV (state social benefits). 70% of their children have no GCSE; they left school before they finished their basic education.

Thank you Wrath of Khan, M., TL., Don C., Tundra Tabloids, and many more and much more to come. The David Harris video is a great lecture to send to people who are nice, bright, reasonable people you may know but who refuse to get it or find the facts as they actually exist today to be too much to take or accept. This is a great lecture to send them with facts and arguments that might permeate a mind stuck in the 1980s. Say the soft left for example.  The testimony in the other video from Congress is stunning and I hope to segment it up perhaps today. If anyone sees any stunning and important moments, please leave a comment with who and where in the video. And thanks in advance for that.

  1. Amazing ,on the centenary of the first holocaust of the 20th century , as the Pope correctly described it, involving the Christian minorities in Asia Minor including the Greeks, the Greek socialists decides to commemorate this event by building the first Mosque since its independence from the Ottomans.

  2. 4/ Muslims could detonate nuclear weapons in a dozen American cities and Chomsky would still be droning on about the Al-Shifa pharmaceuticals plant in Sudan.

Beyond elevated blood pressure, the only things to be gained from reading Chomsky’s side of that exchange are a reminder of how vile the man really is and a review of his rhetorical tricks.

One of many that Sam Harris points out:

‘You appear to have begun this dialogue at (or very near) the end of your patience.’
