1. Bill Whittle gives a lecture on something that frankly, we should all be embarrassed is even necessary. And yet it is.
A man with an Arab appearance, whom the victim estimated is 25 years old, followed him into an alley, yelled “dirty Jew” at him and hit him in the face, according to an incident report by the Bureau, or BNVCA. Two other men, whom the victim also described as Arabs, joined the alleged aggressor and also hit the Jewish man.
Salomon Z. said the attackers wrestled him to the ground and produced a knife, telling him they were going to stab him, but fled the scene as onlookers began to approach.
Six prominent novelists are boycotting a New York literary gala next week to protest against French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo being honored with a freedom of expression award.
Australia’s Peter Carey, Canada’s Michael Ondaatje, British-born Taiye Selasi, and Americans Teju Cole, Rachel Kushner and Francine Prose have withdrawn from the May 5 PEN American Center gala.
They informed PEN over the weekend of their decision not to attend the glittering annual event, which is also a key fund-raiser, a month after the Charlie Hebdo award was first announced.
“They’ve all been in touch with us to say they didn’t feel comfortable attending,” PEN executive director Suzanne Nossel said.
A Pakistani source has revealed that the family of the now-slain U.S. hostage Warren Weinstein paid al-Qaeda $250,000 in ransom money before the terrorists backed out on the deal.
The New York Post reports, “The captors even continued to negotiate with the intermediary for weeks after the 73-year-old American aid worker was accidentally killed in a US drone strike in January.”
A source who spoke directly with the terrorists said they spoke of giving Weinstein to ISIS, giving no indication that Weinstein had been killed in January. “The money was delivered, but he [Weinstein] didn’t show up,” the intermediary said.
Brussels-based International Federation of Journalists (IFJ), a group promoting press freedom, said the reporters had been kidnapped at an ISIS checkpoint and were killed “recently”.
6. LIVE Pegida march in Dresden
Thank you M., Richard, M., Don C., Oz-Rita, (Please check the research Rita did on the German who went to interview people in the Islamic State. Turns out there may be another reason he was granted protection inside its borders. Her research is in the comments under this post)
Also I just had a talk with a friend in Copenhagen. Tonight’s march from the organization for Liberty in Denmark was assaulted by over a hundred of thuggish morons who attacked people carrying signs saying things like, “end violence against women” and so on. At one point they were surrounded by something like 40 police in riot gear and were kettled in like an old Western movie where the families are surrounded by the wagons against the savages. I hope to have a first hand account and photos/videos very soon.
