From Canada to the Islamic state, one religious dogma brings down the temple: Links 1 on March 3 – 2015

We seem to be back in action with a working machine that has access to what we need to operate here at Vlad Tepes. I did notice one interesting thing though on the way to deal with the problem. A woman on the bus was reading a self help book, apparently on how to deal with muslim children. Also yesterday I built a large post with a lot of important material and hit the move to trash button instead of publish. It may take a while to catch up.

1. Islamic state throwing another homosexual man off of a building and preparing to stone him.

You can see the bag of stones at the top right of the photo

2. Code Pink and Hizb’allah. Protesting Israel together like the totalitarian psychos they are. The difference being, only one of them is self aware enough to know that they are such while one of them think they are fighting for liberal values.

3. Another US backed group of jihadis ditches the secular veneer and joins up with hard core muslims. They have American weapons etc.

4. Terrorists using eBay and Reddit to send coded messages: Mossad

5. The first plane load of Iranian goods arrives in Yemen.

6. Adil Charkaoui busted by Quebec media as a Bin Laden supporter

7. Bank Records Reveal the Saudi Millions Behind the Boston Marathon Bombers’ Mosque

The Islamic Society of Boston (ISB), whose Cambridge mosque the Boston Marathon bombers attended during their increasing radicalization, was in large part established with money from Saudi Arabian elites. Indeed, former Saudi Minister of Petroleum Zaki Yamani gave the keynote speech at the celebration marking the transfer of public City of Boston land to the ISB for less than 10% of its market value to build the ISBCC mega-mosque. Now, for the first time, Americans for Peace and Tolerance is making publicly available the names of wealthy Saudi and Gulf sources who together paid for over $8.6 million of the ISBCC mega-mosque’s $15.6 million price tag.

The Saudi donation records were recovered from the Islamic Society of Boston’s direct bank records, which were turned over to APT under court order during the ISB’s failed attempt to sue its critics for libel. A listing of donor names, donation dates, and dollar amounts, as well as the raw financial records in pdf form are included in this release. There are multiple questionable Saudi and Gulf sources among these documents. We welcome the public’s help in crowdsourcing the ongoing investigation into the backgrounds of the listed individuals.

8. Iran rejects Obama nuclear call before Netanyahu speech

Iran has rejected as “excessive and illogical” a demand by US President Barack Obama that it freeze sensitive nuclear activity for at least 10 years.

Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif was quoted saying Mr Obama spoke in “unacceptable and threatening” terms.

Mr Zarif said talks on Iran’s nuclear programme, which are nearing a critical 31 March deadline, would continue.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is expected to urge the US Congress on Tuesday to oppose a deal.

9. Fierce clashes rage around IS-held Iraqi city of Tikrit

Fierce clashes are taking place around the Iraqi city of Tikrit, as soldiers and militiamen attack Islamic State positions in the centre, officials say.

Battles were reported in the suburb of al-Dour, the western al-Zuhur district, the northern area of Qadisiya, and near the Teaching Hospital in the south.

But the government advance has been slowed by roadside bombs planted by IS.

10. The smallest girl wasn’t breathing and spent several months on life support in hospital.

The parents, citing their Islamic beliefs and love for the girl, fought in court to keep her on machines despite the advice of doctors. Two Alberta courts eventually ruled the girl should be allowed to die and the Supreme Court declined to intervene.

An autopsy showed M died of head trauma and starvation.

From the Edmonton Journal:

Steil told court the mother’s concern was only for her son. “She often told us she missed her boy and asked when she could see him. She asked whether he missed her and if he asked about her.”

The boy never did, Steil said. The mother didn’t inquire about her surviving daughter.

“At some point, S will face the knowledge that her parents provided for her brother, but did not do the same for her and her sister,” Steil said.

In June, the father of the twins was sentenced to 15 years in prison.

The Algerian couple married in 2007 and moved to Canada a year later.

To protect the identity of their surviving children, neither of the parents can be named.

Thank you M., Don C., Wrath of Khan, Richard and many more. Still playing Catch-up. Much more to come.

  1. CANADA -Bill C-51: Maher Arar but no ex-PMs on committee’s draft witness list

Four former Security Intelligence Review Committee chairs, three retired judges, two former public safety ministers, Canada’s best-known torture victim and the creator of CBC-TV’s Little Mosque on the Prairie may soon get the chance to share their thoughts on the government’s proposed anti-terror measures.

According to a draft list obtained by CBC News, committee staff are currently working their way through the names of as many as 70 potential witnesses who could be called to testify over the course of eight sessions allotted to expert testimony, including retired politicians, academics, security experts, First Nations and environmental activists and privacy advocates.

Among those who may be on the final witness list:

Former Security Information Review Committee chairs Ron Atkey, Bob Rae, Deb Grey and Chuck Strahl.
Retired Supreme Court justices Louise Arbour and John Major.
Former public safety ministers Anne McLellan and Stockwell Day.
Maher Arar, Canadian victim of torture at the hands of Syrian authorities and human rights activist.
Former associate chief justice of Ontario Dennis O’Connor, who chaired the inquiry into the events that led to Maher Arar being handed over and tortured by Syrian authorities.
Little Mosque on the Prairie creator Zarqa Nawaz, who also works with the Islamic Association of Saskatchewan.
Mi’kmaq lawyer and professor Pam Palmater and Grand Chief of Union of B.C. Indian Chiefs Stewart Phillip.
    Greenpeace Canada campaigner Keith Stewart.
Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs chair David Cape.
Canadian Muslim Lawyers Association research chair Ziyaad Mia.
    Privacy Commissioner Daniel Therrien.
    Toronto lawyer Clayton Ruby.
Ukrainian Canadian Congress executive director Taras Zalusky.
    Western University professor Salim Mansur.

The committee is also expected to extend invitations to senior representatives from Canada’s “Five Eyes” intelligence allies, including U.K. Home Office Secretary Theresa May, U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson and New Zealand Attorney General Chris Finlayson.
Former PMs not on the list

Initially, the Conservatives had planned to allot just three sessions to witness testimony, but a New Democrat-driven filibuster forced the government to expand its initial offer to a total of nine meetings, including one that will be devoted to Justice Minister Peter MacKay, Public Safety Minister Steven Blaney and other government officials.

Even so, it’s not known whether everyone on the long list will be invited to appear in person, as even the extended sitting schedule agreed to by the government would allow a maximum of 48 slots.

The New Democrats had hoped to hear from former prime ministers Joe Clark, John Turner, Jean Chrétien and Paul Martin — signatories of an open letter calling for the bill to include greater civilian oversight — but those names don’t seem to have made the short list, which is typically compiled from lists provided by the various parties.

The hearings are expected to get underway next Tuesday.

  2. CANADA – CSIS flags Canadian online anti-Islam threat in Public Safety briefing
Spy agency characterized it as ‘ongoing risk’ due to advocacy of violence

Canada’s spy agency is eyeing the threat of a budding anti-Islam movement online.

CSIS flagged well-known warnings of the persistent menace posed by terrorist groups al-Qaida, Hezbollah and the more violent and radical Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, or ISIL, say notes obtained through the Access to Information Act.

But under the heading Domestic Extremism, the spy service also underscored what might be the flip side of that coin — the recent development “of a Canadian online anti-Islam movement, similar to ones in Europe.”

CSIS characterized it as an “ongoing risk, particularly as its proponents advocate violence.”

The Sept. 18 briefing for Blaney’s office came a little more than a month before soldiers were killed in Canadian attacks just two days apart — murders committed by young men that authorities say were motivated by Islamic extremism.

Shortly after the killings, there was vandalism of mosques in Ottawa and Cold Lake, Alta., threats against the B.C. Muslim Association, and a general increase in reports of public bullying and harassment of Muslims.

CSIS likely monitoring anti-immigrant sentiment: expert

However, CSIS is likely more interested in the kind of anti-immigrant, anti-Islam sentiment that has taken root in some parts of northern Europe, even among the middle class, said Lorne Dawson, a University of Waterloo sociology professor and co-director of the Canadian Network for Research on Terrorism, Security and Society.

“They’re just not used to dealing with immigrants at all, let alone immigrants that are quite different,” Dawson said of Europe.

“We have a much longer track record of immigration in general — waves and waves of immigrants that have come for decades.”

Dawson suspects CSIS is motivated by the horrific July 2011 slaughter of 77 people in Norway by Anders Behring Breivik, who penned a manifesto outlining his far-right ideology, including an extreme anti-Muslim outlook.

“In Europe, it tends to attract violent individuals. So if (there’s) any chance it’s starting to take wings in Canada then you can see why they’re concerned,” he said.

“I suspect they’re just seeking due diligence to be on top of this at the earliest possible moment in light of Breivik.”
    Challenging legislative environment

A Norwegian official briefed CSIS shortly before the release of an inquiry report that found the Scandinavian country’s security services could have prevented Breivik’s attack.

CSIS spokeswoman Tahera Mufti did not respond to requests for comment.

A simple online search quickly turns up websites with Canadian domain addresses spouting anti-Islamic invective.

The government’s anti-terrorism bill, to be scrutinized at a Commons committee starting next week, would give the RCMP power to seek a judge’s order to remove extremist propaganda from websites.

National security threats are not confined to Canadian borders, the CSIS presentation notes warn.

“International developments have a considerable impact on Canada’s interests.”

CSIS faces a challenging investigative environment in which the rapid movement of people and modern communications technology has “extended the reach” of those who pose a threat and has increased the ease and speed with which they can act, the notes add.

“Co-operation with domestic and foreign partners is critical, including reliable access to information.”

  3. If you ever wondered why Gandhi was assassinated. I disagree with the killing of Gandhi. That was wrong. It is interesting to see what motivated that. Lincoln was assassinated for successfully keeping the union together. Gandhi for failing and that failure ending in the partitioning of India. This also makes one think when does Gandhi’s non-violence work and when does it fail? It succeeded with the British but failed with Jinnah:
“Born in a devotional Brahmin family, I instinctively came to revere Hindu religion, Hindu history and Hindu culture. I had, therefore, been intensely proud of Hinduism as a whole. As I grew up I developed a tendency to free thinking unfettered by any superstitious allegiance to any isms, political or religious. That is why I worked actively for the eradication of untouchability and the caste system based on birth
alone. I openly joined anti-caste movements and maintained that all Hindus were of equal status as to rights, social and religious and should be considered high or low on merit alone and not through the accident of birth in a particular caste or profession. I used publicly to take part in organized anti-caste dinners in which thousands of Hindus, Brahmins, Kshatriyas, Vaisyas, Chamars and Bhangis participated. We broke the caste rules and dined in the company of each other. I have read the speeches and writings of Dadabhai Naoroji, Vivekanand, Gokhale, Tilak, along with the books of ancient and modern history of India and some prominent countries like England, France, America and Russia. Moreover I studied the tenets of Socialism and Marxism. But above all I studied very closely whatever Veer Savarkar and Gandhiji had written and spoken, as to my mind these two ideologies have contributed more to the moulding of the thought and action of the Indian people during the last thirty years or so, than any other single factor has done.

All this reading and thinking led me to believe it was my first duty to serve Hindudom and Hindus both as a patriot and as a world citizen. To secure the freedom and to safeguard the just interests of some thirty crores (300 million) of Hindus would automatically constitute the freedom and the well-being of all India, one fifth of human race. This conviction led me naturally to devote myself to the Hindu Sanghtanist ideology and programme, which alone, I came to believe, could win and
preserve the national independence of Hindustan, my Motherland, and enable her to render true service to humanity as well.

Since the year 1920, that is, after the demise of Lokamanya Tilak, Gandhiji’s influence in the Congress first increased and then became supreme. His activities for public awakening were phenomenal in their intensity and were reinforced by the slogan of truth and non-violence which he paraded ostentatiously before the country. No sensible or enlightened person could object to those slogans. In fact there is
nothing new or original in them. They are implicit in every constitutional public movement. But it is nothing but a mere dream if you imagine that the bulk of mankind is, or can ever become, capable of scrupulous adherence to these lofty principles in its normal life from day to day.

In fact, hunour, duty and love of one’s own kith and kin and country might often compel us to disregard non-violence and to use force. I could never conceive that an armed resistance to an aggression is unjust. I would consider it a religious and moral duty to resist and, if possible, to overpower such an enemy by use of force. [In the Ramayana] Rama killed Ravana in a tumultuous fight and relieved Sita.. [In the Mahabharata] , Krishna killed Kansa to end his wickedness; and Arjuna had to fight and slay quite a number of his friends and relations including the revered Bhishma because the latter was on the side of the aggressor.

It is my firm belief that in dubbing Rama, Krishna and Arjuna as guilty of violence, the Mahatma betrayed a total ignorance of the springs of human action. In more recent history, it was the heroic fight put up by Chhatrapati Shivaji that first checked and eventually destroyed the Muslim tyranny in India. It was absolutely essentially for Shivaji to overpower and kill an aggressive Afzal Khan, failing which he would have lost his own life. In condemning history’s towering warriors like Shivaji, Rana Pratap and Guru Gobind Singh as misguided patriots, Gandhiji has merely exposed his self-conceit. He was, paradoxical as it may appear, a violent pacifist who brought untold calamities on the country in the name of truth and non-violence, while Rana Pratap, Shivaji and the Guru will remain enshrined in the hearts of their countrymen for ever for the freedom they brought to them.

The accumulating provocation of thirty-two years, culminating in his last pro-Muslim fast, at last goaded me to the conclusion that the existence of Gandhi should be brought to an end immediately. Gandhi had done very good in South Africa to uphold the rights and well-being of the Indian community there. But when he finally returned to India he developed a subjective mentality under which he alone was to be the final judge of what was right or wrong. If the country wanted his leadership, it had to accept his infallibility; if it did not, he would stand aloof from the Congress and carry on his own way. Against such an attitude there can be no halfway house. Either Congress had to surrender its will to his and had to be content with playing second fiddle to all his eccentricity, whimsicality, metaphysics and primitive vision, or it had to carry on without him. He alone was the Judge of everyone and every thing; he
was the master brain guiding the civil disobedience movement; no other could know the technique of that movement. He alone knew when to begin and when to withdraw it. The movement might succeed or fail, it might bring untold disaster and political reverses but that could make no difference to the Mahatma’s infallibility. ‘A Satyagrahi can never fail’ was his formula for declaring his own infallibility and nobody except himself knew what a Satyagrahi is. Thus, the Mahatma became the judge and jury in his own cause. These childish insanities and obstinacies, coupled with a most severe austerity of life, ceaseless work and lofty character made Gandhi formidable and irresistible. Many people thought that his politics were irrational but they had either to withdraw from the Congress or place their intelligence at his feet to do with as he liked. In a position of such absolute irresponsibility Gandhi was guilty of blunder after blunder, failure after failure, disaster after disaster.

Gandhi’s pro-Muslim policy is blatantly in his perverse attitude on the question of the national language of India. It is quite obvious that Hindi has the most prior claim to be accepted as the premier language. In the beginning of his career in India, Gandhi gave a great impetus to Hindi but as he found that the Muslims did not like it, he became a champion of what is called Hindustani.. Everybody in India knows that there is no language called Hindustani; it has no grammar; it has no vocabulary. It is a mere dialect, it is spoken, but not written. It is a bastard tongue and cross-breed between Hindi and Urdu, and not even the Mahatma’s sophistry could make it popular. But in his desire to please the Muslims he insisted that Hindustani alone should be the national language of India.. His blind followers, of course, supported him and the so-called hybrid language began to be used.

The charm and purity of the Hindi language was to be prostituted to please the Muslims. All his experiments were at the expense of the Hindus. From August 1946 onwards the private armies of the Muslim League began a massacre of the Hindus. The then Viceroy, Lord Wavell, though distressed at what was happening, would not use his powers under the Government of India Act of 1935 to prevent the rape, murder
and arson. The Hindu blood began to flow from Bengal to Karachi with some retaliation by the Hindus. The Interim Government formed in September was sabotaged by its Muslim League members right from its inception, but the more they became disloyal and treasonable to the government of which they were a part, the greater was Gandhi’s infatuation for them. Lord Wavell had to resign as he could not bring about a settlement and he was succeeded by Lord Mountbatten. King Log was followed by King Stork. The Congress which had boasted of its nationalism and socialism secretly accepted Pakistan literally at the point of the bayonet and abjectly surrendered to Jinnah. India was vivisected and one-third of the Indian territory became foreign land to us from August 15, 1947.

Lord Mountbatten came to be described in Congress circles as the greatest Viceroy and Governor-General this country ever had. The official date for handing over power was fixed for June 30, 1948, but Mountbatten with his ruthless surgery gave us a gift of vivisected India ten months in advance. This is what Gandhi had achieved after thirty years of undisputed dictatorship and this is what Congress party calls ‘freedom’ and ‘peaceful transfer of power’.

The Hindu-Muslim unity bubble was finally burst and a theocratic state was established with the consent of Nehru and his crowd and they have called ‘freedom won by them with sacrifice’ – whose sacrifice? When top leaders of Congres, with the consent of Gandhi, divided and tore the country – which we consider a deity of worship – my mind was filled with direful anger.

One of the conditions imposed by Gandhi for his breaking of the fast unto death related to the mosques in Delhi occupied by the Hindu refugees. But when Hindus in Pakistan were subjected to violent attacks he did not so much as utter a single word to protest and censure the Pakistan Government or the Muslims concerned. Gandhi was shrewd enough to know that while undertaking a fast unto death, had he imposed for its break some condition on the Muslims in Pakistan, there would have been found hardly any Muslims who could have shown some grief if the fast had ended in his death. It was for this reason that he purposely avoided imposing any condition on the Muslims. He was fully aware of from the experience that Jinnah was not at all perturbed or influenced by his fast and the Muslim League hardly attached any value to the inner voice of Gandhi. Gandhi is being referred to as the Father of
the Nation. But if that is so, he had failed his paternal duty inasmuch as he has acted very treacherously to the nation by his consenting to the partitioning of it. I stoutly maintain that Gandhi has failed in his duty. He has proved to be the Father of Pakistan.

His inner-voice, his spiritual power and his doctrine of non-violence of which so much is made of, all crumbled before Jinnah’s iron will and proved to be powerless… Briefly speaking, I thought to myself and foresaw I shall be totally ruined, and the only thing I could expect from the people would be nothing but hatred and that I shall have lost all my honour, even more valuable than my life, if I were to kill Gandhiji. But at the same timeI felt that the Indian politics in the absence of Gandhiji would surely be proved practical, able to retaliate, and would be powerful with armed forces. No doubt, my own future would be totally ruined, but the nation would be saved from the inroads of Pakistan. People may even call me and dub me as devoid of any sense or foolish, but the nation would be free to follow the course founded on the reason which I consider to be necessary for sound nation-building. After having fully considered the question, I took the final decision in the matter, but I did not speak about it to anyone whatsoever. I took courage in both my hands and I did fire the shots at Gandhiji on 30th January 1948, on the prayer-grounds of Birla House.I do say that my shots were fired at the person whose policy and action had brought rack and ruin and destruction to millions of Hindus. There was no legal machinery by which such an offender could be brought to book and for this reason I fired those fatal shots. I bear no ill will towards anyone individually but I do say that I had no respect for the present government owing to their policy which was unfairly favourable towards the Muslims. But at the same time I could clearly see that the policy was entirely due to the presence of Gandhi.

I have to say with great regret that Prime Minister Nehru quite forgets that his preachings and deeds are at times at variances with each other when he talks about India as a secular state in season and out of season, because it is significant to note that Nehru has played a leading role in the establishment of the theocratic state of Pakistan, and his job was made easier by Gandhi’s persistent policy of appeasement towards the Muslims.

I now stand before the court to accept the full share of my responsibility for what I have done and the judge would, of course, pass against me such orders of sentence as may be considered proper. But I would like to add that I do not desire any mercy to be shown to me, nor do I wish that anyone else should beg for mercy on my behalf. My confidence about the moral side of my action has not been shaken even by the criticism levelled against it on all sides. I have no doubt that honest writers of history will weigh my act and find the true value thereof some day in future.”

  4. Syria death reported of ex-British marine fighting alongside Kurds (BBC, March 3, 2015)
    http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-31720274

“A former Royal Marine has become the first Briton to be killed while fighting alongside Kurdish forces against Islamic State in Syria, the Kurdish militia has told the BBC. The Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) named him as Konstandinos Erik Scurfield, from Barnsley. A British pro-Kurdish activist said he had informed Mr Scurfield’s family of the death, at the request of the YPG.

The Foreign Office said it was “aware of reports” of a Briton dying in Syria. The YPG said the “British volunteer martyr” died in an area west of the city of Qamishli on Monday. A Kurdish commander said clashes against Islamic State (IS) in that area were continuing. The BBC’s Guney Yildiz said the YPG had asked Mr Scurfield’s family if they could bury him in Syria “as a martyr”….”

  5. Libya oil fields of Bahi and Mabruk ‘seized by militants’ (BBC, March 4, 2015)
    http://www.bbc.com/news/world-africa-31719043

“Islamist militants are reported to have seized two oil fields in central Libya, as rival groups fight for control of the country. Forces guarding the al-Bahi and al-Mabruk sites retreated after running out of ammunition. Libya’s internationally recognised government in Tobruk is locked in a bitter battle with rivals Libya Dawn, who control the capital, Tripoli. The two sides also mounted airstrikes against each other on Tuesday.

“Extremists took control of the al-Bahi and al-Mabruk fields and are now heading to seize the al-Dahra field following the retreat of the forces guarding these sites,” said Colonel Ali al-Hassi, a spokesman for the oil industry security service. The sites had been closed for some weeks due to violence and a slow-down of exports…”

  6. DAILY MAIL – Jihadi John family’s 20 years on benefits: How it’s cost taxpayers up to £400k to house fanatic and his relatives in upmarket areas

Mohammed Emwazi’s family granted asylum in 1996 after leaving Kuwait
They have since lived in five homes, one of which was worth £450 per week
Neither his father Jasem, 51, nor mother Ghaneya worked while in Britain
Westminster City Council is still paying rent on family’s £600,000 flat
One landlord described the family as ‘parasites’ and ‘tenants from hell’
MPs blasted family for ‘abusing hospitality’ and say payouts are ‘disgrace’

Jihadi John and his asylum-seeking family have milked the British benefits system for 20 years, the Mail can reveal today.

Housing the Islamic State executioner and his relatives in affluent parts of London has cost taxpayers up to £400,000.

One landlord said Mohammed Emwazi’s family were ‘parasites’ and ‘tenants from hell’. Incredibly, they are still believed to be pocketing £40,000 a year in handouts despite there being no sign of them in Britain.

Emwazi’s father Jasem, who has six children, is back in his native Kuwait – the country he claimed he fled fearing for his life.

Westminster City Council is still paying the rent on the family’s £600,000 flat even though the rules say housing benefit should normally be stopped after 13 weeks.

MPs said they were horrified that the child of a family given refugee status, citizenship and benefits had returned the favour by orchestrating the murder of two of its citizens.

The Mail investigation can also reveal that:

    The family fled Kuwait after the first Gulf War, claiming persecution because they were seen to favour the Iraqi invasion in 1990;
    They claimed asylum in the UK and won refugee status in 1996;
    Five years later they were made British citizens and then started travelling back to Kuwait;
    The family have claimed hundreds of thousands of pounds in benefits in Britain since their arrival in the country and lived in homes costing £450 a week;
Emwazi’s father is now back working in Kuwait while the family continues to receive state assistance for the home in Queen’s Park.
