3. Homeland Security chief: Be ‘vigilant’ at malls
The secretary of Homeland Security on Sunday warned shoppers at Minnesota’s iconic Mall of America and similar venues to be vigilant in the wake of new terrorist threats.
“I’m not telling people to not go to the mall,” Secretary Jeh Johnson said on NBC’s Meet The Press. “I think that there needs to be an awareness.”
He also said, “I’m saying that the public needs to be particularly vigilant.”
Mall of America says it has heightened security after a video threatening a terror attack was apparently released by a Somali militant group with ties to al-Qaeda. The group, al-Shabaab, previously took responsibility for the 2013 attack at the Westgate shopping mall Nairobi, Kenya, that left more than 60 people dead.

Egypt charges 215 Muslim Brotherhood supporters (BBC, Feb 22, 2015)
“Egypt has charged 215 supporters of the banned Muslim Brotherhood with forming a militant group. The country’s chief prosecutor accused the group – known as the Helwan Brigades – of killing six policemen and possessing weapons and ammunition. More than half of those charged are already in custody.
Thousands of Muslim Brotherhood members have been arrested since then-army head Abdel Fattah al-Sisi ousted the group from power in 2013 and later banned it. Mr al-Sisi was elected president last year and continued the campaign against the brotherhood and other Islamist groups.
On Sunday Prosecutor Hesham Barakat said in a statement that the Helwan Brigades – named after a district in the south of Cairo – had killed the six policemen and wounded several civilians in attacks in the city. Earlier this month, a Egyptian court upheld death sentences on 183 supporters of the Islamist group over a 2013 attack on a police station near Cairo.”
8. Muslim Extremists? Come on Ezra. Say it as it is. Theses are those who take Mohammad’s word’s seriously to subjugate or kill kafir on a trumped up charge of mischief or offence.

1/ I watched the clip with the same three plus Fran Lebowitz, which was almost extra-planetary in its distance from any earthly reality I recognize (Nye says in that one that Republicans resent Obama because he’s black but went to Harvard and edited the Harvard Law Review). And they all agreed that Republicans are racists, and New York police shoot blacks because they’re racists, and British colonialism in India and Africa was an unmitigated evil, and calling Obama a Kenyan is ‘how you become a crazy person’ (Maher). Nye is even stupider here but it’s a sorry panel when Maher (who can’t decide whether to criticize Obama or shield him from criticism) is the most cogent person at the table.
