1. Explaining Pegida to the World (PI News)
Before coming to the point I have to make sure that you will not take me for a part of Pegida or authorized by their leaders. I am not. I am just a concerned citizen sharing some of the goals of the movement and am deeply concerned about what is going on in Europe and therefore feeling a strong need to make clear why Pegida is and what it is for.
Terrified workers in Paris’s business district were warned not to leave their office after a gunmen was seen outside – just hours after a female police officer was shot dead by a ‘North African wielding an assault rifle’.
Workers in Paris’s business district La Defense received an email this morning, warning them to stay in their offices as an armed gunman had been spotted in the area, French newspaper Le Figaro reported.
The email was sent the same morning a police officer, who has not been named, died after being attacked just before dawn in Montrouge, a suburb in the south of the French capital.
The street cleaner – who stepped in and confronted the gunmen – is also said to be in a serious condition, after he was shot in the face.
This shooting came less than 24 hours after the massacre at the Paris offices of Charlie Hebdo, which left 12 dead – including two police officers.
It is not known if the two attacks are linked.
3. Flash: ‘Non-Accidental’ Explosion At Restaurant Near Lyon
There has been an explosion at a restaurant in Villefranche-Sur-Saone, near Lyon, where there have been reports of a ‘non accidental’ explosion at a kebab restaurant.
The town’s Deputy Mayor Bernard Perrut says: “It is apparently linked to the dramatic situation [in Paris]. The restaurant is independently managed by people close to the mosque…and is where people attending the mosque gather, as do others.”
These attacks are occurring during winter just think about what is going to happen once warm weather arrives.
