Once again, Canada demonstrates that it actually understands reality, and much much more importantly has the courage to set policy based on reality, as opposed to the popular narrative written to replace reality.

CBC in its infinite sanctimonious contempt for the government presents this news piece as if the government is wrong to discriminate between the oppressor and the oppressed. It is not just ‘not wrong’ to discriminate thusly. It is critically necessary. During WW2, we should have brought Jews and other victims of the Nazis to Canada but not the actual Nazis no matter how mch they objected to the consequences of the policies they themselves brought upon the areas they control, or how much they wanted to leave those consequences.
While Christian Syrian refugees and immigrants are obviously less objectionable than Muslim Syrian refugees and immigrants, I think the ideal policy would be zero Syrian refugees and immigrants to Canada, and instead Canada arming Christian Syrians to fight Muslims in Syria, defend their homes and rebuild their civilization where they are. The world is a seriously effed up place, full of people who have failed to create anything better than the usual crap in their lousy countries. If it is somehow Canada’s responsibility to take these thousands or hundreds of thousands in, what about the millions and billions of others? Should Canada take those in too? How about stopping the immigration population replacement BS and Canadians actually having families and defending their own civilization? What’s left of it.
Do you mean we should encourage Canadians to have large families themselves so they can replenish this great nation with actual Canadians rather than relying on foreigners who hate our customs and don’t even speak our language? Racist!!!
Plainly it’s selfish and irresponsible of Canadians to have their own children when there are so many needy people in the world. In fact it’s reprehensibly greedy of Canadians to go on living at all. Any Canadian whose family has been in country more than, say, three generations has had his time and should consider suicide, and in a manner that does not inconvenience anyone else. Think how many Syrian refugees could be saved if enough Canadians spontaneously combusted.
One has only to look across the pond to Europe to see the wisdom in this decision. Also glaringly obvious is how out of touch are the politically-correct opposition parties.
The fifth column CBC propaganda platform deserves no comment at all it has proved itself unfit as a credible news source.
Most conflicts resulting in refugees seeking asylum occur in Muslim majority countries, and the refugee agencies working in those countries will presumably be Muslim led, and perhaps prone to favouring aplications for resettlement from their fellow Muslims. Has anyone researched the possibility of bias to establish whether minorities are given an equal chance to escape these conflicts and immigrate to the West? I agree the majority Muslim population are responsible for the violence and chaos in their own countries, but religious minorities are not. They are the main victims here, and should be given asylum. Let the majority Muslim population face and confront the abject failure of the social, religious and political systems they supposedly endorse and believe in.
Many former Nazis scientists, technicians, and engineers were resettled secretly in the USA after WW2 their skills partly being used for NASA space rocket build and design and missile and weapons design and production.They were initially segregated from the general US population….. U.S. Plans To Lead in Resettling Syrian Refugees

I would like to thank HC Guterres and Renata Dubini. Your leadership on the Syria crisis has made a huge difference, as has all of your work on behalf of some of the most vulnerable people on the planet.
I also want to recognize Germany and Sweden for their commitment to Syrian refugees and asylum seekers. We are also grateful to Sweden for leading the Syrian Resettlement Core Group over the last year.
We applaud the generosity of Syria’s neighbors. They opened their borders and took in Syrian refugees. Like the High Commissioner I have visited all the host countries represented here today. These countries have helped save millions of lives.
As the flow of refugees has grown to a mass exodus, countries hosting refugees in the region have contended with overcrowded hospitals and schools, shortages of everything from housing to water, economic pressures and recent evidence of mounting public resentment.
But these very real burdens must pale in comparison to the daily struggles of Syrians themselves.
Imagine losing practically everything – your loved ones, your home, your profession, and your dignity. Imagine the frustration of languishing for years, unable to work or send children to school, exhausting your resources and relying on handouts. Imagine fearing that this situation is never going to end.
For Syrians and for other victims of violence and persecution – resettlement offers not just an escape, but a chance to start over.
A family from Homs, a shop owner, his wife, and their six children, experienced this flight and rescue. In August of 2010, the father was standing in a crowd of peaceful protesters when the Syrian military arrived and opened fire. Bodies piled up in front of his shop, shells reduced it to rubble, neighbors disappeared, and soldiers ransacked the family’s apartment and made threats. The family fled to Jordan, and they were eventually resettled in the United States. The parents say one of their dreams has already come true. All of their children are back in school.
Only a small fraction of those who want to be resettled can be – only about one hundred thousand refugees per year, worldwide. There are more than six times that many Syrian refugees in Jordan alone.
But war’s true cost is measured in human suffering. Resettlement can help – one person at a time – to bring that suffering to an end.
We applaud the 25 countries that have agreed to resettle Syrian refugees, including some who will be accepting UNHCR refugee referrals for the first time. The United States accepts the majority of all UNHCR referrals from around the world. Last year, we reached our goal of resettling nearly 70,000 refugees from nearly 70 countries. And we plan to lead in resettling Syrians as well. We are reviewing some 9,000 recent UNHCR referrals from Syria. We are receiving roughly a thousand new ones each month, and we expect admissions from Syria to surge in 2015 and beyond.
Like most other refugees resettled in the United States, they will get help from the International Organization for Migration with medical exams and transportation to the United States. Once they arrive, networks of resettlement agencies, charities, churches, civic organizations and local volunteers will welcome them. These groups work in 180 communities across the country and make sure refugees have homes, furniture, clothes, English classes, job training, health care and help enrolling their children in school. They are now preparing key contacts in American communities to welcome Syrians.
I am inspired both by the resilience of refugees we resettle, and the compassion of those who help them. Resettlement cannot replace what refugees have lost or erase what they have endured. But it can renew hope and help restart lives. That can make all the difference.

Until someone invents a machine that can tell the difference between a moderate Muslim refugee and a jihadis fanatic, all immigration of mainstream Sunni Muslims should be cut down to zero. We don’t want suicide bombers getting into the country, and pretty much all suicide bombers are Sunni Muslims from places like Syria. End of discussion! Our Prime Minister is protecting us from Sunnis Muslim suicide bombers. What’s the matter with that?

“Police arrested 173,0000 foreign criminals last year – one in every seven suspects who were apprehended nationwide.
The figures from Association of Chief Police Officers Criminal Records Office reveal the extraordinary strain being placed on the justice system by overseas criminals.
In many cases, the suspects have lengthy criminal records back home which should have prevented them from entering the UK – or would allow for them to be deported.
But, alarmingly, police are only bothering to carry out checks in only 30 per cent of cases and in some force areas it is as low as six per cent.
It means offenders who should have been detained are being bailed or, when they appear before the British courts, are not being sentenced properly because judges do not know about their criminal past.
Keith Vaz, chairman of the Home Affairs select committee, said: ‘It is simply unacceptable that people with serious convictions could be allowed to enter the UK in the first place….”
