2. Daily Mail does article on gay man thrown from roof in Islamic State

Chilling new images released by ISIS militants show a group of fighters throwing a man off the roof of a building for being gay – as others pictures emerge of bloodied ‘rapists’ being strung up in the streets of the same town.

Moments before he is flung to his death, a mob of at least eight men can be seen atop of the building that is believed to be somewhere in northern Iraq.

The images were posted on a jihadist website just hours after US senate report – described a ‘a stain’ on American values – revealed the sadistic abuse of CIA detainees in a network of secret prisons around the world.

3. FBI investigation into ex-US diplomat casts cloud over relations with Pakistan

A high-flying US diplomat betraying her country to spy for Pakistan may sound like an outlandish plotline of the spy drama Homeland, but in recent weeks that real life allegation has added extra intrigue to the volatile relationship between the two supposedly allied countries.
The news that a former US ambassador called Robin Raphel has been the subject of an FBI counter-intelligence investigation shocked the foreign policy establishments of both Washington and Islamabad when it was reported last month.

  4. Saudi arrests three IS ‘supporters’ for shooting Dane

    Three supporters of the Islamic State group in Saudi Arabia have been arrested for shooting and wounding a Danish citizen last month, the interior ministry said on Thursday.

    “The perpetrators of this vile attack, three Saudis, have been arrested,” ministry spokesman General Mansour al-Turki said in a statement carried by the official Saudi Press Agency.

    He said they “perpetrated their crime in support of the terrorist group Daesh”, using the Arabic acronym for IS.

    The victim “was injured in the shoulder and chest,” Turki said.

    “Security was able to find the weapon used, which was a pistol (Glock) and the car used in the attack, as forensic evidence.”

    Turki added that the suspects “trained for two weeks” before the attack.

  6. ’20th hijacker’ seeks transfer to Guantanamo

    An imprisoned man known as the “20th hijacker” in the 9/11 terror attacks asked a South Florida federal judge Wednesday for a transfer to the military prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, where several alleged senior terror plotters are awaiting trial.

    The request is part of two rambling, handwritten letters filed in Miami federal court by Zacarias Moussaoui. He is serving a life prison sentence after pleading guilty in 2005 to conspiring with the 19 hijackers in the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks.

    Moussaoui signed one letter as the “so-call 20th hijacker” and a “Slave to Allah.”

    Moussaoui, 46, has been writing letters to courts around the country from his maximum-security prison cell in Florence, Colorado, claiming inside knowledge about al-Qaida and the Sept. 11 plot, and seeking a chance to testify in lawsuits filed by terrorism victims.

    The letters filed in Miami repeat some of those claims. Moussaoui wants the transfer to Guantanamo, he says, because he has been assaulted and harassed by other inmates and guards at the Florence “Supermax” prison — including Ramzi Yousef, mastermind of the 1993 World Trade Center bombing.

    He even contends there was a prison plot to kill him and “claim that I committed suicide,” but that failed.

    “So no suicide, Victory by Allah,” Moussaoui wrote.

    U.S. Bureau of Prisons spokesman Chris Burke said the agency could not comment on the allegations.

    Five detainees at Guantanamo are awaiting trial before a military commission in the 9/11 attacks, including alleged mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, as well as the alleged orchestrator of the 2000 attack on the USS Cole, Abd al Rahim al-Nashiri.

    Moussaoui also makes other demands, asking Senior U.S. District Judge James Lawrence King to order prison doctors to perform a long-delayed hernia operation and that he appoint civil rights attorneys Benjamin Crump and Anthony Gray to represent him. Crump and Gray recently represented the family of Michael Brown in the Ferguson police shooting.

    “I am currently on a hunger strike in order to have a lawyer since 11/09/14,” Moussaoui wrote.

    Moussaoui was in custody on immigration charges on 9/11. He had been arrested after employees at a Minnesota flight school became alarmed that he wanted to learn to fly a Boeing 747 without a pilot’s license. Later, during his terror conspiracy court case, Moussaoui claimed that he had planned to fly a plane into the White House on Sept. 11.

    Other Moussaoui letters have been filed with courts in New York and Oklahoma City, the latter including an allegation that a Saudi prince provided financial assistance to him and the 19 hijackers. In his Miami letter, Moussaoui claims there is a plot to stop him from testifying about this unnamed prince, also involving fellow Saudi Yousef, in a bid to spare Mohammed the death penalty. Yousef is Mohammed’s nephew.

    There were no immediate rulings on Moussaoui’s demands in the Miami letters.

  7. FRANCE – ‘Pork or nothing’: Mayor makes Muslim kids to go meatless at French school

    A secularism scandal is raging in France, after a mayor in a northwestern town introduced a “pork or nothing” principle at school, even for 27 students who will get no meat substitute.

    […] “The mayor is not required to provide meals that respond to religious requirements. This is the principle of secularism,” Mortreau told Europe1 radio.

    The move was backed up by the Town Hall on the grounds that the food providers face extra work if they have to deliver meat substitutes, the Local reported.

    The initiative has been supported by some public school officials.

    “We didn’t open school canteens for partisan, religious, philosophical, cultural reasons,” said Eric Le Moal, director of a public school in Lezignan-Corbieres in the Aude, which also passed the one-dish policy last year.

    Muslim parents and pupils expressed their fury at the mayor’s decision, especially due to the fact that a second meal doesn’t cost any extra.

    “Eating two starters is not the same as eating a meat dish. Meat is something the body needs to work and to think. I need meat, it’s important,” a pupil, Tarik, told Europe1 radio.

    Tarik’s mother Yasmine called the new policy “discrimination” and voiced her anger that she has to tell “a small child that “you will eat less today because there’s pork on the menu.”

    “You hear comments like, ‘if you don’t like it, take your children home.’ It hurts,” she added.

    The parents and kids were supported by officials, for instance, Paris Mayor Jean Tiberi said that the move aims to “stigmatize Muslims.”
