On Sunday in Sierra Leone’s capital, bulldozers were clearing large areas for a new burial ground.
At the clearance site, near a rubbish tip, car after car was arriving with bodies, and several hundred workers were digging graves.
In October, Mr Banbury told the UN Security Council that by 1 December, “70% of all those infected by the disease must be under treatment and 70% of the victims safely buried if the outbreak is to be successfully arrested”.

The city council of Leicester, the 10th largest city in the United Kingdom, has established a ban on all Israeli goods in the city, despite the fact that it is controlled by Britain’s main opposition party, Labor, who, according to party leader Ed Miliband, have insisted that they are opposed to boycotting.
With a population of 330,000 citizens, 93,000 of which are first or second generation immigrants from Pakistan, India, and/or Bangladesh, this can unfortunately only be deemed as a win for the BDS movement against Israel, and a fearful premonition of what can transpire in other British cities around the U.K.
The US strategy against Islamic State “suffers from a series of weaknesses,” a study by the Tel Aviv-based Meir Amit Intelligence and Terrorism Information Center found recently.

10. 36 feared killed in attack in Kenyan village
(CNN) — Al Shabaab militants are suspected of killing at least 36 people whose bodies were found in a quarry in a Kenyan village near its border with Somalia.
The bodies were found in a quarry in the village of Kormey, about 15 kilometers (9 miles) from the border city of Mandera, the Red Cross said.
It’s an area where Al Shabaab militants are known to operate.
Around 20 gunmen targeted a group of workers at the site, CNN affiliate KTN reported.

Jordanian Muslim Brotherhood smuggling weapons into Israel
The Jordanian government arrested 21 Muslim Brotherhood members for smuggling weapons and money into the West Bank, Arab media reported.
The Brotherhood members are accused of creating a secret military organization and planning to carry out terrorist attacks in the West Bank, senior Jordanian sources told the London-based daily Al-Hayat in a report published on Sunday.
Two of the suspects were charged with receiving military training in Gaza after participating in an organized visit there. According to the sources, “these two young men tried to train other Muslim Brotherhood members in order to carry out operations in the occupied West Bank.”
They also raised money to buy weapons.
The name of senior Turkish-based Hamas official and former prisoner in Israel, Saleh al-Arouri, also came up in the investigation, according to the sources.
However, Arouri claimed over the weekend that he has nothing to do with the Jordanian investigation, according to the report. Arouri said “our resistance” is focused on “Palestine” and “the Zionist occupation.”

SAUDI ARABIA – Arsonist sets mosque on fire
An arsonist set fire to a mosque in the city of Al-Salil’s Rawdah District, in the south of Riyadh Province.
The muezzin (prayer caller) said he entered the mosque to call for the noon prayer and was shocked to see fire in several places inside.
He called the people of the neighborhood to extinguish the blaze before it covered the entire building.
Local residents said there is evidence that the act was intentional and no specialized authority came to investigate the incident.
They have shut the mosque down and are waiting for authorities to handle the situation. The head of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs’ Al-Salil branch Ali Al-Bakhitan said the incident has been reported to the national ministry, which will compensate those in charge of the mosque by refurbishing and reopening the building for prayers.
