1. Obama plan to shield up to 5 million immigrants from deportation -NY Times
WASHINGTON, Nov 13 (Reuters) – President Barack Obama plans to announce an overhaul of U.S. immigration policy through executive action that would shield up to 5 million undocumented immigrants from deportation, the New York Times reported on Thursday.
Such a move will set up a showdown with Republicans, who have blocked Democrats’ efforts in Congress to reform immigration laws and warned the president not to take unilateral action on immigration.
2. Three held over Pakistan hospital ‘gang rape’
Three men accused of drugging and gang-raping a female patient at a government hospital in the Pakistani province of Punjab have been arrested, police say.
The men being held are health department employees, officials say.
The woman was at the hospital in the Burewala area with her husband and new baby for a check-up on 11 November.
3. UK: Man, 27, arrested in Slough on suspicion of financing terrorists in Syria
Counter-terror police have arrested a 27-year-old man accused of financing extremists in Syria.
The suspect was held this morning in Slough, Berkshire, under Section 17 of the Terrorism Act after an investigation by specialist officers.
A top police chief once again sounded a warning against travelling to Syria, where hundreds of British extremists are fighting with Islamist groups.
5. Woman jailed for funding Syria jihad
(While these stories are now barely boilerplate in terms of news, what is interesting is that the man who went to fight jihad was a drug dealer etc. It is interesting to note that muslims may be drug dealers or anything else for that matter and suffer no consequences for it in islam, so long as they fight for islamic supremacy at some point.)
6. ‘I Am Not Malala’ Day Observed by Pakistani Schools
A network of private schools in Pakistan observed “I am not Malala day” in protest against Malala Yousafzai, a young Pakistani activist for girls’ education.
The All Pakistan Private Schools Federation condemned Malala for her perceived support of controversial novelist Sir Salman Rushdie. The federation had previous banned Yousafzai’s autobiography for what it said was the book’s “anti-Pakistan and anti-Islam content.”
The Federation organized walks, seminars and press conferences to bring attention to the “I am not Malala” day.
7. This is a very worthwhile video on ‘Net Neutrality’ which people need to see in order to understand this very important issue. This was made in 2010 before we saw how the Obama administration politicized the IRS and other government institutions and the UK is way worse than that. Keep those scandals in mind when you watch this.

#1 Not that anyone in DC is paying attention to the laws anymore but Obama doesn’t have the authority or power to grant executive amnesty to illegal immigrants. Note that the Republicans are cast as the villains because they refuse to allow people who are in the US illegally an easy path to citizenship.
