Police have arrested a 26 year-old Moroccan man in Amsterdam on suspicion of preparing terrorist attacks against policemen, the public prosecution department said in a statement.

3. Mutant Ebola warning: Leading U.S. scientist warns deadly virus is already changing to become more contagious

Now U.S. scientist Peter Jahrling of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease believes the current Ebola outbreak may be caused by an infection that spreads more easily than it did before.

Dr Jahrling explained that his team, who are working in the epicentre of the crisis in the Liberian capital of Monrovia, are seeing that the viral loads in Ebola patients are much higher than they are used to seeing.

He told Vox.com: ‘We are using tests now that weren’t using in the past, but there seems to be a belief that the virus load is higher in these patients [today] than what we have seen before. If true, that’s a very different bug.

‘I have a field team in Monrovia. They are running [tests]. They are telling me that viral loads are coming up very quickly and really high, higher than they are used to seeing.

‘It may be that the virus burns hotter and quicker.’

4. Tommy Robinson feels that he is being recalled to prison to stop him from speaking at Oxford Union. Let us all hope that he is wrong in his assessment. Because if he is correct it speaks volumes about how critical aspects of British democracy have given way to politicization the likes of which one only sees in communist or third world nations.

The British government had best dare not criticize Putin for anything he does should Tommy’s estimate be correct. One way to find out of course, would be to have Oxford Station do the speech remotely from prison and see if the prison allows it.

    “A U.S.-led coalition airstrike on a gas distribution facility in a stronghold of the Islamic State group set off a series of secondary explosions and killed at least eight people in eastern Syria, activists said Saturday.

    The airstrike targeted a distribution station in the town of Khasham in the oil-rich province of Deir el-Zour late Friday, Deir el-Zour Free Radio, an activist collective, said on its Facebook page. The collective named four of those killed and said another four charred bodies were placed in a nearby mosque. It said the slain men were mostly fuel tanker drivers.

    Another activist group, the Deir el-Zour Network, described “long tongues of flames” from the strike. The incident was also reported by the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, which relies on a network of activists inside Syria.

    The U.S.-led coalition has aggressively targeted IS-held oil facilities in Syria, which provide a key source of income for the militants. But such strikes also endanger civilians, which could undermine long-term efforts to destroy the group.

    Other airstrikes late Friday targeted oil wells in the Deir el-Zour province, the activists said.

    There was no immediate comment by the U.S. military….”

    “Yemen’s empowered Shiite rebels attacked the home of a rival Islamist politician south of the capital on Saturday, setting off clashes that left 12 people dead, security officials said, adding that the politician was not home at the time.

    The officials said Shiite rebels and allied fighters attacked the home of a local politician from the rival Islamist Islah party, killing two of his relatives in the town of Yarim, an Islamist stronghold in the Ibb province south of Sanaa. The ensuing clashes left eight rebel fighters and two bystanders dead.

    Another four rebels were killed when a roadside bomb struck a convoy bringing reinforcements to a battle with Sunni conservative tribesmen raging in both Yarim and the provincial capital, also called Ibb. The Houthis had advanced on Ibb city on Friday, setting of fierce clashes. A brief cease-fire collapsed….”

    “At least three Egyptian troops died when a smuggling tunnel on the border with the Gaza Strip collapsed on them as they were investigating it on Saturday, a military official said.

    Rescuers recovered the bodies of an officer and two soldiers, and were looking for a fourth body in the rubble. Another soldier was injured in the collapse, said the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to brief journalists.

    Egypt’s military has been sealing HUNDREDS OF SMUGGLING TUNNELS under the Gaza border because authorities believe they are used to smuggle weapons into the restive Sinai Peninsula, where Islamic militants routinely carry out attacks on soldiers and police.

    The interior ministry said Saturday that security forces have arrested 52 suspected militants who operated in eight different cells with the aim of targeting Egypt’s infrastructure, including power stations, railroads, water plants and other services.

    Ministry spokesman Hani Abdel-Latif said the suspects were apprehended in Giza — a district of the capital — Alexandria, two Nile Delta provinces and two southern provinces. He said the suspects attacked and vandalized a train as well as power and mobile pylon poles. He said they are also accused of obstructing traffic on main roads and plotting attacks against police.

    Abdel-Latif said some of the suspects were plotting to disrupt the academic year by spreading chaos among students in Alexandria, Egypt’s second largest city, and attacking university staff in the Nile Delta city of Zagazig.

    He said some of the suspects were linked to the Muslim Brotherhood, which the government has declared a terrorist organization following the July 2013 ouster of Islamist President Mohammed Morsi, who hails from the group….”

    OTH, not allowing them to leave will only strengthen their desire to leave. They will find another way to do so. But they wont have an ID card to get back. Its a Two for One.

      I watched the “Death of a Princess”. Maybe the film-makers were “Orientalists” – but not really successful. The closer you get, the more shallow and rank.
