A Canadian imam known for his pacifist sermons has warned that Islamist militant group IS was actively recruiting in Canada and said one member issued him a death threat.

(It is worth pointing out that the pacifist imam referred to in this article is the exact same one who took Ezra Levant to the Human Rights commission for publishing the Danish cartoon and believes it should be a federal crime to do anything against sharia law, as he literally called the police on Ezra when the toons were published with full expectations of an arrest)

Baghdad, Iraq (CNN) — As violence continues to wrack Iraq, another ethnic slaughter may be in the making by Sunni extremists from ISIS.

ISIS fighters have besieged the ethnic Turkmen Shiite town of Amerli in the north for two months, and its fewer than 20,000 residents are without power and running out of food, water and medical supplies.

6. Two more health care workers contract Ebola. (Which kind of defies the safety hyperbole we keep hearing. Because if the people who know best how not to get the disease get the disease, then perhaps there is something they don’t know about it)

Afterward, the force’s Inspector-General Suleiman Abba ordered that security be tightened around all police facilities in the country.

It’s not known what happened to the missing officers, though the police force statement did say there is a “very promising prospect of locating them.”

9. Erbil (Agenzia Fides) – The Kurdish leader Massud Barzani, President of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, announced that the government of the autonomous Region of northern Iraq is ready to open its doors to Christian volunteers among the Kurdish armed forces by providing them with the means to create self-defense forces in their villages and defend themselves from jihadi militias of the Islamic State (IS).

Soharwardy, the “Cartoon Cowboy of Calgary”, when not licking the boots and ass of Naheed Nenshi, the effeminate, homosexual mayor of Calgary, will be parading around ramming a copy of this ridiculous Telegraph article in everyones’ face………….saying……….SEE….LOOKIT ME!!!!!….AHHHS IMPOTENT….REALLY REALLY!!!!….ALLAH ACKBAR!!!!…….MUHAMMAD CAN KISS MY ASS CAUSE I”M SOHARWARDY THE GREAT!!!!

    “Fighters from Islamic State (IS) have taken control of a key Syrian government airbase, activists say. The Tabqa airbase was the last remaining stronghold of Bashar al-Assad’s government in Raqqa province.. State TV confirmed that government forces had “evacuated” the airbase. Days of fighting there have reportedly killed hundreds on both sides.

    More than 191,000 people have now been killed in the three-year-old Syrian conflict up to April, the UN says. IS, formerly known as Isis, has expanded its reach into large parts of eastern Syria and northern Iraq in recent months.

    The US has launched limited airstrikes against the group in Iraq but has not targeted them in Syria…”

  4. Ebola outbreak confirmed by DR Congo (BBC, Aug 25, 2014)

    “The Democratic Republic of Congo has confirmed that an outbreak of haemorrhagic fever in the north of the country has been identified as Ebola.

    Health Minister Felix Numbi told the BBC that tests on two people had confirmed the disease in Equateur province, where 13 had already died.

    But he said the deaths occurred in an isolated area and the disease seemed a different strain to West Africa’s.

    Dr Numbi said a quarantine zone was being set up to contain the disease.

    The cases are the first reported outside West Africa since the outbreak there began.

    So far 1,427 people have died from the virus.

    The speed and extent of the outbreak has been “unprecedented”, the World Health Organization (WHO) says.

    An estimated 2,615 people in West Africa have been infected with Ebola since March.

    There is no known cure but some affected people have recovered after being given an experimental drug, ZMapp. However, supplies are now exhausted….”

    “Islamist militias in Libya have challenged the legitimacy of the new parliament after announcing their seizure of Tripoli airport. The militias accused the house of complicity with Egypt and the United Arab Emirates in a deadly air strike on militia positions at the airport.

    The elected parliament has branded the militias as “terrorists”.

    Egypt’s President Abdul-Fattah al-Sisi has denied any involvement in Saturday’s air strike.

    The militia alliance in Libya captured the capital’s international airport after a battle lasting nearly a month. Islamist-affiliated forces from Misrata and other cities took over the airport from the Zintan militia, which has held it for three years.

    Violence in Libya has surged recently between the rival groups who overthrew Muammar Gaddafi in the 2011 uprising.

    The airport, Libya’s largest, has been closed for over a month because of the fighting.

    Hundreds of people have died since fighting broke out in Tripoli in July….”

  6. Obama arms Syrian rebels while attacking American gun ownership

    The United States government has announced that it is going to begin overtly arming Syrian Opposition Forces, many factions of which are supported by al-Qaeda. At the same time, President Obama and many on the left continue their assault on American gun ownership.

    While American tax dollars are being used abroad to fund and train those responsible for thousands of American dead, American tax dollars are also being used to fund government programs and regulations allegedly aimed at keeping military style weapons out of the hands of gang members in the United States.

    Ensuring Ebola-free Haj
    Taking care of Ebola patients during Haj can be stressful and it is better to be on the safer side. Haj can be performed in later years by anyone who can’t perform it this year. Haj is a religious duty that can be performed whenever the situation permits. It can be delayed but the disease will not wait if it strikes.

    2 beheaded in Brazil jail riot
    Inmates rioting for better facilities in a Brazilian jail killed four fellow prisoners, decapitating two of them, and took two guards hostage, officials said Sunday.

    The uprising took place in the Cascavel state correctional center in the southern city of Parana that currently holds 1,140 imates, according to Elson Faxina, a state judicial spokesman.

    “A group of prisoners took six inmates hostage; they killed four and have injured two. They also took hostage two guards,” he said.

    “Their demands are about facilities; it is an older building and they want food brought in.”

    Faxina said 60 percent of the jail had been taken over by rioting inmates and that negotiations had been broken off until Monday.

    State prison officials told G1 news the prisoners launched a violent push for better food and cleaner facilities.

  12. A Second 9/11?

    The way we are going at the moment – appeasement of Islam, denial about the goals of Islam, and assuming that Muslims living in the West, are all moderates but for a tiny minority, will a second 9/11 be a greater or lesser disaster?

    If it wakes up the politicians, the populace us already awake, then I posit that it will be a lesser disaster.

    • We can consider it a given that we will be hit with another major terror attack and probably before Obama is out of office.

      • And really do more damage, look at the number of dead by the serial killer jihadists, he killed a lot and most people don’t even know about him.

      • During WWII roughly 50,000 Americans died, during the Cold War with its numerous small fronts that the news called different wars we lost well over 150,000 but most people don’t recognize them as being causalities in the same war.

        • In a lot of ways it is the same war, the weapons may change and the tactics may change but the goal of world conquest doesn’t change and with the Moslems the religious motive doesn’t change. This is because human nature hasn’t changed, because of this once we leave the solar system and immigrate to other solar systems we will end up fighting the same wars on other planets for the same motives.

    Omar Zakhilwal told the BBC he would have to cut salaries and lay off government workers if the crisis was not resolved by the end of the month.

    Two contenders have claimed victory but have so far failed to reach a deal on a government of national unity.

    A full audit of the votes is still under way under United Nations scrutiny.

    “Some 480 Nigerian soldiers have fled into Cameroon following fierce fighting with Boko Haram militants, Cameroon’s army has said.

    Army spokesman Lt Col Didier Badjek said the soldiers had been disarmed and were now being accommodated in schools.

    Clashes are said to be continuing in the border town of Gamboru Ngala.

    Boko Haram on Sunday released a video in which it said it had established an Islamic state in the towns and villages it controls in north-eastern Nigeria.

    The group’s five-year insurgency has intensified in recent months despite the deployment of thousands of extra troops to the worst-affected areas.

    Last week, a group of soldiers refused to follow orders to go and fight Boko Haram, saying the militants were better equipped.

    Insurgents also seized one of Nigeria’s two main police training academies, which is near the town of Gwoza, captured earlier this month…”

    “In a video uploaded to YouTube on Saturday purportedly by the terrorist group ISIS, various scenes of jihadist propaganda flash across the screen: militants reading verses from the Quran and examining a map of northern Syria, clips of violent clashes and explosions.

    But this video had something else in it that previous videos released by ISIS have not: Surveillance footage apparently shot by a drone.

    The almost 14-minute video shows aerial views of Syrian Army Military Base 93 near Raqqa province in northern Syria.

    ISIS militants attacked the base on August 7, deploying suicide bombers driving truck bombs to soften up resistance in scenes that are also shown in the videotape that was released Saturday.

    The caption over the surveillance footage of the Syrian military base reads: “From the drone of the army of the Islamic State.”

    That ISIS appears now to be using a relatively sophisticated surveillance drone to plan its military operations underlines an important development: Technology that was once the monopoly of states is now being used by terrorist groups….”
