(Muslims destroy shop in England because they are mad at Israel for defending itself against muslims. Got it)

Police officers were attacked and stock thrown around during a protest against the Gaza conflict at a Tesco store today.
Witnesses say demonstrators entered the Tesco store in Hodge Hill, Birmingham, and started pushing produce over and ‘getting aggressive’ with staff and shoppers.
(A Facebook friend says the same thing is happening now in a Tesco in Halifax and they had to close the store down)
2. AQAP Calls on Muslims Everywhere to Kill as Many Americans as Possible
Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) expressed solidarity with jihadists in Iraq — pledging to kill as many Americans as possible — and called on all Islamic jihadist organizations and Muslims everywhere to do the same, especially in the United States.
In an August 14 communiqué, AQAP said the US is leading a war against Muslims and that Osama Bin Laden and Ayman Al Zawahiri “always advised to crush the head of the American serpent, in order to make it easier to eliminate its agents, the leaders of the Muslim countries.”
In its message, AQAP assured jihadists fighting with the Islamic State in Iraq that experience teaches that airstrikes “cannot defeat those who place their trust in Allah,” and that jihad continues from generation to generation.
3. Qaraqosh, largest Christian city in Iraq: We fled and have no place to go
An Iraqi Christian refugee named Rwaa called into the BBC today to describe the horrific situation in Iraq. Rwaa fled the Christian city of Qaraqosh on Thursday with her children and cousin as ISIS rebels took control of the town.
4. Islamic State Seizes Iraq’s Christian Capital: Qaraqosh
Islamic State militants seized control of the “Christian capital of Iraq,” Qaraqosh, and nearby Christian villages last night. The land grab sent has sent an estimated one-fourth of Iraq’s remaining Christians fleeing.
“An exodus, a real via crucis … [Christians] are walking on foot in Iraq’s searing summer heat towards [salvation in] the Kurdish cities of Erbil, Duhok and Soulaymiyia, the sick, the elderly, infants and pregnant women among them,” a regional Christian leader told AsiaNews. “They are facing a humanitarian catastrophe and a real risk of genocide. They need food, water and shelter.”
5. The British Muslims who want to live under the Islamic State

However, now members of the group say they should be allowed to renounce their British passports and be given safe passage to the caliphate declared by the Islamic State, formerly known as Isis.
This week pro-IS leaflets handed out in central London provoked outrage. They said: “The Khilafah (caliphate) has been re-established…Muslims with the help of Allah have announced the re-establishemnt of the Khilafah and appointed an Imam as a a Khaleef.”
(They are correct. The right of exit really is a central foundation stone of democracy. No matter what we think of their policies they should have the right to leave. Unless they are enemy soldiers within our lands or criminals. Then we can detain them. But if these are regular citizens who have not broken a law, to prevent them from leaving is just another form of totalitarianism. When will we learn how wrongly we are seeing and acting on today’s problems?)
7. Toronto Canada: Booklet disseminated for free at Dundas Square recommends Muslims to recite prayers asking Allah’s help in defeating the disbelievers
The Toronto-based organization, called “Walk-In Islamic InfoCenter,” operates a Dawah (call to Islam) booth at Dundas Square in which its activists give away books, booklets and leaflets on Islam.
One of the these booklets is “Muslim Prayer Handbook For Beginners,” which explains the very basic prayers for Muslims.
The booklet, issued by Islamic Communication Trust (Pakistan), dedicated three prayers to the “Kafiroun,” meaning the disbelievers or infidels. The following are text of these two recommended prayers for Muslims
Thank you ML., Don L., M., and many more. Much more to post soon.

Iraq crisis: Cameron warns of possible IS threat to UK (BBC, Aug 16, 2014)
http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-28823281
“Islamic State militants could grow strong enough to target people on the streets of Britain unless action is taken, David Cameron has warned. The PM, writing in the Sunday telegraph, said a “humanitarian response” to IS was not enough and a “firm security response” was needed.
It comes as Church leaders expressed concern that the UK had no “coherent” approach to tackling Islamic extremism. IS has seized large parts of northern Iraq and Syria over the summer. Kurdish forces, supported by US air strikes, are currently battling to retake Mosul dam from IS fighters in northern Iraq. There are also continuing reports of massacres of non-Muslims by the extreme Sunni group, which is seeking to build a new Islamic state spanning Iraq and Syria.
Writing in the Sunday Telegraph, Mr Cameron said: “True security will only be achieved if we use all our resources – aid, diplomacy, our military prowess – to help bring about a more stable world. “If we do not act to stem the onslaught of this exceptionally dangerous terrorist movement, it will only grow stronger until it can target us on the streets of Britain.” He warned that if IS was able to “carve out its so-called caliphate”, the UK would be “facing a terrorist state on the shores of the Mediterranean and bordering a Nato member”.
The UK has made aid drops to people stranded in northern Iraq but the prime minister warned a “broader political, diplomatic and security response” was needed, in addition to humanitarian action. “We need a firm security response, whether that is military action to go after the terrorists, international co-operation on intelligence and counter-terrorism or uncompromising action against terrorists at home,” he wrote. *The prime minister suggested that anyone walking around in the UK with an Islamic state flag should be arrested.”
I am very conservative concerning rape (i.e. never raped anyone – even trying to imagine such a situation disgusts me instantly). So surely there must be some deep and serious differences between being conservative as I understand it and as Abcnews are trying to promote to the sheep following their reporting and maybe even succumbing to the narrative they are trying to construct…
Egypt: Police Arrest Suspect in Rape of Briton (abcnews Aug 16, 2014)
http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/egypt-police-arrest-suspect-rape-briton-25008103
“Egyptian authorities arrested a man on Saturday who is suspected of raping a British citizen in a banana plantation near the ancient southern city of Luxor, a security official said.
The official said the 35-year old suspect was arrested in the village of Qurna, west of Luxor, days after the British citizen reported the attack.
The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he wasn’t authorized to speak to reporters, said the suspect confessed and was referred to prosecutors for further investigation ahead of trial. Rape can carry the death sentence in Egypt.
Egypt has seen a rising wave of sexual violence, a phenomenon that has long been underreported in the conservative country. But recent mob attacks on women in public spaces have prompted the government to declare a tougher policy, increasing sentences on sexual harassment and convening a number of speedy trials against perpetrators of mass public assaults.
The British citizen, who lives in Egypt, told police last week that the suspect had first verbally harassed her as she walked to the market in Qurna. On her way back, the suspect dragged her into a banana plantation and raped her under the threat of a knife, the official said. The British woman identified the suspect during investigation, leading to his arrest Saturday.”

Yemen Official Says 7 Suspected Militants Killed (abcnews, Aug 16, 2014)
http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/yemen-official-suspected-militants-killed-25008472
“Two separate airstrikes in Yemen’s south killed seven suspected militants Saturday, a Yemeni security official said.
The official said three suspected militants were killed when an airstrike hit their vehicle north of Ahwar town, in the southern Abyan province. The other airstrike hit a gathering of militants in the same region, killing four, the official said.
The official spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to the media. It was not clear if the airstrikes were carried out by U.S. drones, commonly used to target suspected militants in Yemen, or government jets.
The U.S. considers al-Qaida’s Yemeni branch to be its most dangerous. The Yemeni government has waged repeated offensives to try to drive them out of the south.
The group has retaliated with a series of attacks against local security forces.”
Kenya to close borders to travellers from Ebola states (BBC, Aug 16, 2014)
http://www.bbc.com/news/world-africa-28823247
“Kenyan officials say the country is closing its borders to travellers from Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone in response to the deadly Ebola outbreak. Kenya’s health secretary said Kenyans and medical workers flying in from those states would still be allowed in.
Kenyan Airways says it will stop flights to Liberia and Sierra Leone when the ban comes in on Wednesday. The World Health Organisation (WHO) says Kenya is at “high risk” from Ebola because it is a major transport hub.
The epidemic began in Guinea in February and has since spread to Liberia, Sierra Leone and Nigeria….”
Chadian soldiers ‘rescue 85 Nigerians from Boko Haram’ (BBC, Aug 16, 2014)
http://www.bbc.com/news/world-africa-28824379
“Reports are emerging of the rescue by Chadian troops of some 85 Nigerian villagers abducted earlier this week by suspected Boko Haram militants. A Nigerian security official told AFP that they had intercepted a convoy of buses transporting gunmen and the villagers in a routine security check.
Neither the Nigerian or Chadian militaries have confirmed the reports.
Boko Haram is accused of kidnapping hundreds of people in the north-east of Nigeria, and neighbouring Cameroon. The group, which wants to create an Islamic state in the region, sparked international outcry when…”
Apparently mission not accomplished yet. (Unlike some Arab outlets reported a day or two ago.)
U.S. airstrikes on ISIS part of operation to retake key Iraqi dam (CNN, Aug 17, 2014)
http://edition.cnn.com/2014/08/16/world/meast/iraq-crisis/index.html
“U.S. warplanes on Saturday pounded a series of extremist militant targets in what Kurdish officials describe as part of an effort to retake a key piece of infrastructure in northern Iraq — Mosul Dam.
The airstrikes against fighters of the so-called Islamic State come amid growing concern over the stability of dam should it fail or ISIS fighters open its floodgates. U.S. officials have previously warned that a failure of the dam would be catastrophic, resulting in flooding all the way to Baghdad.
The U.S. military confirmed a mix of fighter jets and drones carried out nine airstrikes near Mosul and the Kurdish regional capital of Irbil. The strikes targeted armored vehicles being used by ISIS fighters, it said.
U.S. Central Command declined to provide further details, citing security of its personnel.
There were conflicting reports from Kurdish officials about whether its military force, known as the peshmerga, had begun a ground operation to retake the dam.
(Mosul Dam remains in hands of ISIS)
A colonel with the peshmerga told CNN the operation began early Saturday with Kurdish forces advancing toward the dam as the United States carried out airstrikes against “mobile ISIS positions.”
The dam complex has not been hit, the colonel said on condition of anonymity. He is not authorized to speak to the media.
While peshmerga spokesman Hilgurd Hikmat also confirmed the U.S. airstrikes, he said the Kurdish forces are not on the move and have not engaged in battle with ISIS fighters near the dam.
Mosul Dam is under ISIS control, but it is still up and running, the colonel said. Engineers and employees remain at work, he said…”
#5: yes of course you are correct, that the right of exit is a cornerstone of democracy. But quite simply I don’t believe them: if they stay alive, many will want to come back, either as a ‘visitor’ or to claim asylum, eg claim that if they stay in Syria or wherever, they will be persecuted, or because they have ‘family’ in the UK. There are hundreds of UK human rights lawyers, not to mention the ECHR, that will argue their case up and down through the UK courts, costing the taxpayer millions. And they will probably succeed. These people have made a mockery of the UK. So although it goes against all my principles, I can see a rationale for not allowing such vile people to leave the country.

chesters you may be right but it is still their right to leave, you don’t have to let them back in.
