Somali militants who murdered 48 people in a Kenyan village as they watched the World Cup went door to door asking residents if they were Muslim or spoke Somali – and shot them dead if either answer was ‘no’, witnesses revealed today.
The attack on the coastal village of Mpeketoni, about 30-miles southwest of the tourist centre of Lamu, came at the end of a weekend of bloodshed that has exposed the world to the shocking depravity of terrorists, apparently emboldened by each other’s acts.
2. UK MP and activists do a ‘hashtag’ (pound) bring back our boys campaign for the three kidnapped Israeli teens. Interesting that Mrs. Obama thinks of those Kenyan girls kidnapped by Muslim terrorists as “her girls” but not Israeli boys even though one of them was in fact, American.
A customer who stabbed a cafe boss in revenge for being kicked out has been jailed for seven years. Ali Rashedi, 25, knifed the 51-year-old victim in the shoulder days after rowing with staff over his hat.
4. This morning, Canada’s most courageous radio-talk show host actually dared raise a question that is clearly factual and even obvious. His question was something to the effect of, ‘why is Islam so overtly and horrifically violent today’? and Lowell observed that the Nazis tried to hide their brutality but ‘islamists’ use it as a recruitment tool. I would add that communists also tried to hide their genocidal actions while muslims take videos and get paid for it. Not that many called on the topic but a few did. One regular called to the show who is Islam-factual and he was countered by a Muslim who engaged in some obfuscation and then got called out on it by someone who I think is a Coptic Christian from Egypt. Most of the show is colloquial banalities about the price of gas and traffic. But if you want something to listen to while doing dishes or making dinner some of this may be interesting, if for no reason other than
Terror alerts, 9/11-style bombings and murders of British citizens will soon come to London’s streets, according to chilling threats from UK citizens fighting alongside Islam’s most violent terrorist group operating in Syria and Iraq.
The threat comes from British nationals fighting for the Sunni militant group calling themselves the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL/ISIS) in Syria. According to the Sunday Times, they promise that after they’re done there, Britain is next. The message comes from three such fighters, all youngsters in their teens and twenties.
More graphic footage has emerged, purporting to show Iraqi prisoners being interrogated, as Jonathan Beale reports. (Video at site) Militants led by ISIS – the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant – captured key cities including Mosul and Tikrit last week, but some towns were retaken.
The men were convicted of carrying out a “violent terror attack” by a court in Xinjiang province, state media said.
Reports said at least two appeared to be from Xinjiang’s Uighur ethnic minority, which Beijing accuses of waging a violent separatist campaign.
(Video, apparently from Anjem Choudary’s group at link above)
To be frank the horrific punishments are the least offensive of the three elements which are problematic in sharia.
The most offensive and horrifying is the way in which guilt is determined. There is no due process and no context or even truth as consideration. In Western law for example, truth was an absolute defense until political-correctness and islam began to corrupt it.
The second most horrifying aspect of it is the things which Islam calls a crime such as speech, thought and freedom of choice crimes. So a person can be killed for apostasy, horrifying enough all on its own, but there is no real court to determine that. Just the word of a Muslim against a non-muslim as we see today with the doctor in jail in Sudan.
This means that the threat of death from the mere accusation of blasphemy or apostasy forces non-Muslims or even disliked muslims into a state of eternal servitude and submission in case someone decides to use this tool.
and possibly most of us might not be that upset if a serial murderer of children was stoned to death if it could be shown to be a deterrent in a meaningful way or not. But I find the nature of the punishments in islam to be the least problematic aspect of sharia overall.
