2. US DoD News:
Soldiers are being fed halal meat in military canteens without their knowledge as the Ministry of Defence admits it does not label meat bound for bases in the UK or overseas.
Canteen meals are not labelled as being halal, kosher or otherwise, and military personnel would only be told if they had asked in advance for a specific meal, according to MoD policy.
In recent months, consumer, animal rights groups and the British Veterinary Association have all condemned the unmarked sale of halal food.
4. Militias become Iraq’s only defense against ISIS advance
Speaking by instant messaging from Lebanon, a Hezbollah commander, who does not have permission to speak to journalists and asked not to be named, said that for the time being his group would continue to focus on protecting the government of Syrian President Bashar Assad and the Lebanese border from insurgent groups, but that he expected many of the hundreds of Iraqi fighters currently aligned with the regime in Syria to return home to face this new Sunni threat.
The possibility of Iran intervening to defend the Iraqi government also was raised by Iranian President Hassan Rouhani in a speech televised live on the situation in Iraq.
“For our part, as the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran … we will combat violence, extremism and terrorism in the region and the world,” he said.
“[ISIS] is an extremist, terrorist group that is acting savagely,” he said, promising support for the Iraqi government in the increasingly vicious fight.

Popular forces armed by the state are deployed around the city to protect its residents from the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS). All eyes are on Diyala, the gateway to the south by the Iranian borders. There is no army and no security forces except in the green zone, and their loyalty is now questionable after information was confirmed that senior officers turned against the government and handed their military areas to the newcomers.
6. Oped: The New York Times Defends Al-Qaeda
Why are some of the biggest Western mainstream media outlets — especially the New York Times [NYT] — often apologetic, not only for radical Islamists, but for al-Qaeda, an organization responsible for, among other atrocities, killing nearly 3000 Americans on September 11, 2001?
A recent NYT report, “Abduction of Girls an Act Not Even Al Qaeda Can Condone,” tries to exonerate al-Qaeda of the horrific actions of a similar jihadi organization, Nigeria’s Boko Haram — when both groups are remarkably similar in outlook and method, and often Boko Haram is affiliated with al-Qaeda and is frequently even worse. The report begins “As word spread like wildfire on Twitter and Facebook that Nigerian militants were preparing to auction off more than 200 kidnapped schoolgirls in the name of Islam, a very different Internet network started quietly buzzing too,” one which, according to the NYT, reflects “the dismay of fellow jihadists at the innocent targets of Boko Haram’s violence”:

California-based Desert Farms has launched what it calls the first commercially available line of camel milk products, including raw and pasteurized camel milks and a raw camel milk kefir (a fermented drink).
The company is touting the health benefits of camel milk, saying it provides “more absorbable calcium than available in other milks” and it “may enhance diabetic wound healing,” among other benefits. But it’s also saying camel milk is simply a milk for our times — “richer, more filling, more easily digested, and more satisfying than cow, goat or dairy milk.”

And the pitch is apparently working: The product line is already being featured in more than 40 Whole Foods stores throughout California and is starting to be distributed elsewhere. And that’s in spite of the fact it doesn’t come cheap — a pint of Desert Farms camel milk runs $18.
“It’s the closest milk to a human mother’s milk…People are willing to pay a premium,” says Walid Abdul-Wahab, the entrepreneur behind Desert Farms.

This would have been the perfect time for a rapid response from the United States Air Force. They should be hitting ISIS while they’re on the road in their Toyota trucks and stolen Humvees and before all the Iraqi soldiers flee in terror and the war is lost. Oh, too late, that’s happened already. Rest assured, it won’t take long before these clever rogues are so well hostaged-up that you can’t lay a hand on them without killing a thousand schoolchildren in the process. Unfortunately, Obama doesn’t seem to really want to win, does he…
With Iraqis calling in locations on their cellphones, the US Air Force could have killed every single ISIS soldier in Iraq without putting one foot on the ground. As it is, they may well be about to become ground zero for the new Caliphate. Wonderful!

Obama definitely wants to win. Never forget that. Its just who he is fighting for, that remains for most, in some doubt. At the moment I would say Obama is winning. The question remains, can we get someone in a position of authority that is willing to fight for us, our culture, our countries, our people and our values before Obama does so much damage that the cost becomes the stuff of legends.
