1. Muslim Brotherhood in Turkey protest the death sentences of their co-terrorists and sharia law enforcers in Egypt. Turkish government supports Ikwan

2. Iran expresses anger at US for not granting visa for new UN envoy, just because he stormed the US embassy and held their staff hostage for over a year.

Iran has insisted it will not replace its new envoy to the UN in New York and accused the US of acting illegally by refusing a visa to the diplomat.

A senior Iranian official said they would “pursue the matter via legal mechanisms” with the United Nations.

The US accuses Hamid Aboutalebi of links to the group that seized the US embassy in Tehran in 1979, an incident that soured ties between the countries. Mr Aboutalebi says that he only acted as a translator for the group.

3. Surprise surprise surprise the US spy agency, NSA has used the vulnerability now known as ‘Heartbeat’ to steal private information from citizens. As opposed to warning people the vulnerability was there.

The agency’s reported decision to keep the bug secret in pursuit of national security interests threatens to renew the rancorous debate over the role of the government’s top computer experts. The NSA, after declining to comment on the report, subsequently denied that it was aware of Heartbleed until the vulnerability was made public by a private security report earlier this month.

“Reports that NSA or any other part of the government were aware of the so-called Heartbleed vulnerability before 2014 are wrong,” according to an emailed statement from the Office of the Director of National Intelligence.

4. Is Russia taking more of Ukraine?

(The Soviet songs are a bit over the top though)

I haven’t worked out who’s side these people are on but there must have been a large sale on tires

5. Mail Online has undercover film showing the horror of halal slaughter using no pre-stun.

(In case anyone doesn’t already know, it should be drawn to their attention. The people who are anti-animal-cruelty in this case are usually labeled ‘far right extremists’ and ‘racists’ because they believe in obeying the laws our various countries have to reduce domestic animal suffering)

6. Now a dozen schools in the UK are being investigated for islamist indoctrination.

In some schools non-Muslim teachers are reported to have been sidelined by Islamic extremists, who have allegedly imposed halal food in canteens and abolished sex education classes.

The claims first came to light last month, when a letter referring to a ‘Trojan Horse’ plot to take over Birmingham schools was leaked to the Press, although its authenticity is unclear.

Thank you M, Wrath of Khan, ML, Gaia,

  2. Ukraine: Pro and anti Maidan activists face off in Kharkov

Pro and anti Maidan rallies attracted hundreds to the Shevchenko monuments and Svoboda Square in Kharkov on Saturday, despite a rally ban due to the international marathon which took place during the day.

Pro-Maidan protesters shouted “Glory to Ukraine!” and held banners that read “United Ukraine” and “Putin, please, stop”, while anti-Maidan protesters chanted “referendum!”, “freedom to defenders of Kharkov!”, and “Ukraine without NATO!”.

I think the Egyptian Army is going to win this because they must. They know that they have to extinguish the radical Muslim element, and they also know that they have the mandate of the people to do just that, as evinced by the largest-in-history demonstrations that happened a few months ago. The Egyptians know that they must be case-hardened steel in their resolve, and they know that they can’t be afraid to kill people, and to arrest people, to hurt people, and to listen-in on people’s phone calls and all that. The hardcore Morsi followers are nothing less than brainwashed zombie bodysnatchers who simply cannot be reasoned with, so they must be taken out. There is no other way for this to go…

  4. #1 Erdo?an wants to recreate the Ottoman Empire, he is using the Brotherhood in his quest, just as they are using him in their quest to create a Caliphate centered around Egypt

#4 How much of the protesting is home grown and how much is the result of agent provocateurs? Russia has used agent provocateurs for centuries and I don’t see Putin discarding a successful tactic.
