Please feel free to post riot videos from Turkey in the comments under this post for today. It does seem that this event is far far more than a mere Turkish version of the union funded, ‘Occupy’ nonsense in North America and Western Europe.
Try and watch it to the end.

“The protests that engulfed Turkey in recent days caught by surprise even those observers who, like me, have been vehement critics of Prime Minister Tayyip Erdo?an’s authoritarian rule…
The immediate cause was police brutality. Turks are used to rough behaviour by their police, but the images circulating in social media this time caused widespread outrage…
Neither is this a struggle between secularists and Islamists, as much of the Western media is wont to portray it. It is abuse of power by Erdo?an’s government, straight and simple, that unites the protestors…”

“… Gülenists are known to be particularly well represented in the police. Supposedly moderate, the movement has been closely linked to some of the worst police and judicial abuses under Erdogan.”
Turkish protesters are ‘alcoholics’, says Egyptian Islamist leader
The protest movement in Turkey is an “uprising of alcoholics,” a leader of Al-Gamaa Al-Islamiya has claimed.
Alaa Abul-Nasr, who is a leader of the group’s political wing, the Building and Development Party, went on to say Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdo?an is a role model for Egyptian Islamists during an interview on Rotana Masriya TV channel on Sunday.

The protesters are the ones we should be supporting, they are fighting against a man who hates us.
Turkey is a NATO Allie look for Obama to support the Islamists and use NATO as the reason.
How incredibly sad is it that we trust a news outlet out of Moscow more than we trust the BBC, NYT, or Washington Post?
The Istanbul suburb of Besiktas was awash with protesters in the early hours of Wednesday as nationwide anti-government demonstrations continued for their sixth day. Police used water cannons and teargas in an attempt to disperse the protesters.
Anonymous the RT isn’t as communist as the other news sources you mentioned.
