Whether this man is a convert to Islam or not, this has to be the quote of the year:
“Mr. Alfano said that the shooter, an unemployed 49-year-old man, had intended to commit suicide, but told officers that he was unable to do so because he had run out of bullets.”

One thing is for sure, if he was a Muslim, you will know because the Times will go to great lengths to hide that fact. If he was not, they will exaggerate his affiliations.
They weren’t saying much about him, if he was Moslem the Times will drop the story.
A man from Calabria wanted to shoot politicians or so I heard.
IIRC, I followed the twitter feed on this yesterday . . .the 49 year old was divorced, back in Calabria due to unemployment and was living with his mother. His confession (posted in corriere.it) suggests he was lamenting his economic failures and felt it was the politicians fault. He wanted to injure the politicians before taking his own life.
One of the injured was a young pregnant woman and an injured surviving policeman may be paralized. Here in the US, he’d be considered one of the emasculated progressive 99%’ers.
