As a Brit I’m aware of the stupid things that my nation has done in the last thirty years with its Marxist policies of uncontrolled immigration and the like, but it’s at times like these that I thank God that we were actually ballsy enough to stay out of the Euro.
Bob that will help but all of the nations are going to suffer to varying degrees when the worlds economy comes to grips with the socialist policies of the past 60 to 70 years. These policies have placed the entire world in the position of total economic collapse and the socialist in power keep doing the wrong things to solve the problem, the exception has been German where they have taken a true pro growth position, but their attempt to stave off disaster in Southern Europe have placed them in the position of being included in the coming collapse.
I love the way the presenter immediately assumes that it’s the British Government’s (ie: the british taxpayers) job to bail out people who went abroad and put their money in foreign banks of there own free will. (Serving armed forces excepted).
It”s debatable whether its a good idea for the government to backstop anybody’s saving choices, it arguably makes the banks more reckless with other people’s money, and savers indifferent.
But that aside, banks abroad?
Jesus give me a break.
The UK is going to follow Germany and everyone else into the abyss. I’m waiting for when the Bank of England has to admit how much its loaned in off the record loans.
We’re going to get bloody on this one.
